Overview
On the 23-25 of February, SAN JUAN CHAMULA, an indigenous town near San Cristobal de Las Casas, celebrates its carnival. We will see the carnival where the people dress in their traditional festive costumes. Before arriving at the carnival, we will visit another town, ZINACANTAN, where we will visit a local family, learn about elaboration and textiles on the loom, learn to make tortillas by hand and visit the cemetery at 2,700 meters with spectacular views. The experience is more than visual: thanks to my explanations about the roots of customs and legends that you will hear, you will see it from another perspective.
