Overview

To truly appreciate the archaeological sites of Tulum and Coba, it's best to explore them with a guide. Discover little-known facts and see more of Mexico’s Maya ruins on a day trip from Cancun or Playa del Carmen. In addition to an in-depth tour of each site, break to swim in a cenote and enjoy a buffet lunch. Hotel pickup and drop-off are included, so you won’t need to worry about finding the pickup point in the morning.

What to Expect

Tulum Ruins (7 hours)
Following pickup from your Cancun or Playa del Carmen hotel, travel to the Tulum ruins in an air-conditioned coach. On arrival, absorb views of the Caribbean Sea from a cliff-top perch before taking an in-depth tour of the archeological site, established during the 13th century.

Then, continue to a nearby cenote for a refreshing swim surrounded by limestone caverns. Sate your appetite with a buffet lunch featuring Mexican dishes such as quesadillas and salad accompanied by water, soda, and beer.

Coba Ruins Tour (4.5 hours)
Following lunch, you’ll travel to the Coba ruins, an archaeological site enshrouded by the rain forest. During a guided tour, you’ll learn about the significance of the complex and have a chance to climb to the summit of Nohoch Mul, the tallest pyramid in the Yucatan.

After free time to explore independently, you’ll return to Cancun by coach.

Our Tour Guide Luis Estrella and our driver Javi were awesome. Our Tour Operator Equinox or something pretty close to this with a slightly different spelling but nonetheless was a great overall experience. Tour guide was very knowledgeable and wasn't pushy. They also provided water...More

Good experience

Overall good experience and interesting historical trip. The guide was speaking mostly Spanish, and was hard to keep up, even though we were promised English speaking guide. The beach in Tulum is very dirty and un-swimmable. However, great historical experience with gorgeous views and ruins....More

Wonderful experience

Luis was an amazing tour guide. Full of knowledge and passion for the subject. He was incredibly patient with my nine year old son who wants to know all the things, all the time, and peppered him with questions. My only recommendation is to bring...More
