- Roving130667701350 contributionsMarch Break Excursion 2025We recently had an amazing experience on the Catamaran Malube. The crew on board were amazing offering a great experience for everyone. They provided drinks, lots of information and overall made the day so much fun. We started at the Marina where they loaded our group onto the boat then we proceeded to go snorkelling. They provided us with all the equipment needed and assured that everyone was comfortable and fitted with the right gear. During the snorkelling the crew brought us through the different coral reefs where we saw many different types of fish, sting rays and the amazing ocean floor. We finished off my spending the afternoon at the island where we had lunch at the buffet and had our own time to walk around and explore. The boat ride home was filled with lots of laughter and couldn’t have been the same without the amazing crew on board.Written March 17, 2025

- 98bettinac0 contributionsWe love Jorge and Rene! The catamaran was great- but the most AMAZING part was JORGE ROSAS and CAPTAIN RENE!! I dropped my bag that had my wallet, phone, identification, and money in it on the island. OF COURSE I didn’t realize until we took the catamaran back (almost an hour). Having a heart attack- i ran down the pier and asked the captain (Rene) if he could help me. Without a question he said yes. Jorge (who spoke English thank god) hopped aboard and called management at the restaurant i was at where they looked for it. When we got there-(an hour later) it was exactly where i was sitting prior to leaving untouched. Jorge let us hang on the boat until his next cruise was going back, gave me a shot of tequila and said not to worry. He also found a van that would take me back to my resort. ALL FOR FREE. the tip we gave him was not enough- so this is my first review ever. Thanks guys! Mexico now has a place in my heart for sure.Written March 13, 2025

- 535guyb0 contributionsSurf and TurfThe Cancun Sailing Catamarans Tour to Isla Mujeres is a lively mix of fun and relaxation. Enjoy an open bar, upbeat vibes, and snorkeling at El Meco Reef, where marine life thrives. Isla Mujeres offers time to explore or unwind at a beach club with a decent buffet. The crew is energetic, and while it can get crowded, the turquoise waters and island charm make it a worthwhile escape.Written March 5, 2025
- cathybC8349VP0 contributionsWhat an amazing day!!We rode on the Mango and had Uncle Bob as our tour man, he was amazing!!! Explained everything clearly, answered everyone's questions and checked in on all of us throughout the day! He was knowledgeable about the fish we saw when snorkeling and ensured were were all comfortable in the water. I would recommend this to anyone going to Mexico that wants to have a rounded trip, boat ride, snorkeling, island lunch and exploring, swimming off the boat and sunset ride. - MattRag0 contributionsBait and switchWe booked a "Privilege Experience" on a smaller vessel with a promise of 8-12 people. We are on a huge catamaran with 50+. The snorkeling was 25 minutes along a shipping lane and the open swim was 20 minutes. The premium open bar was cheap liquor and sodas. The snacks were big box store bulk mini donuts. The music was so loud that I couldn't hear a friend speaking next to me. Avoid if you can. Shame on Delta Vacations for pushing us towards this. The only saving grace was the beautiful day and sea breeze.Written March 2, 2025

This was a highlight of our trip to Cancun. We booked the premium catamaran so it would be a little less crowded on the boat. Crew was incredibly friendly and accommodating, they certainly made sure your cup was full the whole time. The boat was really comfortable and clean, the drinks/food were nothing fancy, but perfectly fine for the price. Snorkeling in a large group is a either a plus (you certainly feel safe surrounded by people) or a minus (you are simply moving with the crowd, not free to explore on your own) but we saw sea turtles, beautiful fish, and the underwater sculptures, which were really cool.
On the island, we had a drink or two with our fellow passengers, then haggled for a golf cart and explored the whole island, including finding a great little taco place in the middle of the island for a beer and shrimp tacos overlooking the boats in the harbor.
I see some moderately negative reviews and they seem to all be on the same theme - the food and drinks are not going to be what you're getting at your 4 star hotel in the hotel zone. Which...should be expected since this is an all-you-can eat/drink experience from a local small business. It was all fine, and the point was the beautiful boat ride, the snorkeling, and getting to experience Isla Mujeres. We loved it, was super fun and glad we did it.

Pickup from hotel was on time and air
conditioned, the driver was very friendly.
Once we arrive to the port, there was a bit of
a line but not that big of a problem. If you're
looking to buy a phone bag there, do not buy
it from the register, since it costs roughly 400
pesos. You will wait at the beach for a bit and
there you can buy some for 200 or less if you
manage to haggle. Once we got on the boat it
was party all around. The host was extremely
festive and nice, he informed us about the
rules and our itinerary while keeping it fun.
We were fitted with proper equipment for
snorklering and got guided through the
coral reef. Afterwards we were brought to
the restaurant, which had a small selection
of meals. In the end we finally arrived at the
northern beach of the isle of women, where
the sand was a nice light beige color and the
sea crystal clear.
|||
My girlfriend and I were overjoyed with this
trip and the host, we were treated well and
cared for, even though it was a pretty big
group.
Try not to get scammed by people on the
street.
Definitely recommend tipping!!

This trip was amazing! Tour guide and the workers onboard was good vibes and I got 10 professional photos taken by one of the workers for about $70 which I didn’t think was a bad price because the pics came out great! The music selection on the catamaran was great! At the time the waters was a little choppy but I still went snorkeling and had nothing short of an amazing experience! We stopped off in Isla Mujeres and the island is beyond beautiful!!!!! Book NOW!

This excursion is complete false advertising. Let me start off with the bad. When we first arrived to the island, we expected the beach, beds and chairs that are shown in the photos to be provided. However, they were not we were only provided with dirty lounge chairs. The beach chairs that you see in the photos belong to other companies and have to pay for them STARTING at $20 a chair. Secondly, the food in the Buffet was disgusting and the drinks were watered down. The food that they show in the photos was not what we were served. You can eat at other restaurants on the island. However, you do have to pay for it and It is expensive. one restaurant charged us 43 USD not pesos for three servings of french fries, and three Sprites. The island is also surrounded by a lot of people trying to get you to buy items as well as massages and it began to get annoying as you’re trying to relax but people keep pestering you to buy services or items . Also note that the tour guide does not cancel and refund if it rains you still have to participate in the tour or lose out on money. Luckily, it didn’t start raining until we were leaving the island. However, we were soaking wet and once we got back to the port to be picked up and taken back to our resort we had to wait 50 minutes outside for the bus to come and get us mind you we paid for pick up and take back so we were expecting to be taken back as soon as we got off the boat, however, we had to wait 50minutes because the driver was not there yet. I felt this tour was a complete waste of my day and definitely would not recommend this to anyone else.
The good things about this tour is the staff is very friendly the boat was clean and the island is self was beautiful however, what was promised was not delivered.

Overall this tour was not a great experience. First off the itinerary given when you booked was incorrect. When you click on itinerary it shows you that you’d visit the Riviera Maya but from the marina we were taken directly to do snorkelling by isla mujeres where the entire tour took place. The snorkelling part of the tour was incredibly frustrating as they force you to wear the life jacket even if you are a certified scuba diver and an experienced swimmer. The snorkelling was super crowded with the tour leader constantly yelling for you to follow him while he swims in a tight group of 20 people. There wasn’t alot of space and the guides won’t let you properly explore the area. The location where they took us also didn't have much to see. Any time you got near something to see like the coral or fish you got yelled at to stay away from that area. The tour says it’s an open bar but realistically with the timing of everything you only get to enjoy one watered down rum and coke. The food at the buffet restaurant it was okay, but that was about it. Overall it was disappointing the false advertising of the tour, and the fact that the tour was an hour behind schedule so we had less time for the activities.

To start the day, we were offered water whilst waiting for our boat to become available. When we accepted the water, we were asked for 4 dollars (for 1 single bottle of water). We told the waiter we were not interested so he had an attitude. The snorkeling was good. My mask had 2 rips at the nose so water was getting in. The guide kept gathering us together, so close that we were all kicking each other in the face with the flippers. We found ourselves on top of underwater art at one point, and completely missed it as we were being pestered by the photographer for pictures. The island is nice and beach is beautiful. On the way back, a poor couple behind us who paid to be there, we getting constantly heckled by the photographer. Certainly not what they paid for. To finish the day, we had the tip box rattled in front of each and every one of us. I have him what I had in my pocket and I didn't even get a thank you. Wish I hadent tipped as all we were offered was a donut and apple. Won't be recommending this particular cruise to anybody, but we did have an enjoyable day.

Will try to be brief and honest here. We enjoyed going out to sea in catamaran. After booking it though I had a message it we had to pay $15 extra per person on check in, but at check it turns out they increased it to $20 per person. Overall it wasn't cheap, and for the money the snorkeling was extremely disappointing unfortunately. They rushed everyone out and had us in a group in the water and kept telling us to keep moving, the other boats were doing the same thing so it was tons of people in the water looked like school children on a fieldtrip floating in the water. Being so packed together also didn't give you much freedom to snorkel without having someone's fins or arms hit you. When we arrived at the underwater statues which was supposed to be the big deal, we were there literally just a few minutes before they started rushing us back to the boat... barely got to enjoy any of it, not nearly enough time in the water to enjoy the views underneath. The buffet was good. Next it was free time to roam Isla Mujeres, they only gave us 1hr and 20minutes before the catamaran left for Cancun. That's it. If I knew that were the case I would have rather skipped the buffet and had more free time to roam Isla Mujeres. We literally had to rush our time in Isla Mujeres, it flew by before we knew it we had to rush back to the catamaran. It was chaos on the way back trying to find our boat with all the other tourists. Overall I appreciate the effort by the crew to want us to have a good time, but the most essential parts of the whole trip, the snorkel, and Isla Mujeres, was completely overlooked.

We went to Isla de Mujeres with Sailing Experience.
I don't recommend it at all. When we went to buy the tour, no one warned us that it was such a crowded boat, with approximately 80 people.
The fact that there are so many people hindered the snorkeling experience, since the guide goes down with the people who are snorkeling and makes us all stand together, crowded together. In the end we saw more tender animals and human feet than fish. A shame because it must be one of the most beautiful places to snorkel.
Then they took us to Punta Sur for lunch. Frightening!! Horrible food, horrible place, a totally wasted hour. When we finally went to the nice beach further north, the beach at the parador they took us to was a disaster. The bathing area was small, where the water hopefully reaches your knees. You can't go deeper because it is a boat area.
At no time were we informed that we had to go to North Beach, which is the public beach, but in this area you no longer have lounge chairs. In short, a tour that I do not recommend.
Days after living this unfortunate experience, they told us about the existence of tours with fewer passengers, but as one compares the packages at the hotel, one does not always receive the best advice.

Transfer by catamaran, on rough sea days, I do not recommend it. The snorkeling activity was discontinued, for this reason, and many people were badly decomposed. Excellent attention and animation from the guides, really friendly and well disposed. The food in the buffet, the worst of the excursion; very little variety, without any appeal or flavor, for dessert a rice with milk that was scarce and a few pieces of watermelon, if you wanted ice cream you had to pay apart. The beautiful island, especially Playa Norte, highly recommended. Be careful when hiring the tour, because you are not warned that before boarding, you have to pay an extra $20 per person (dock fee). I found it very expensive, for what they provide.

The tour booking says 7 hours + 2 hours transportation. It is actually 11 hours:
1. One hour on the bus, which turns out to be best part of the trip, because there is nothing happened on the bus.
2. Waiting in the line 30 minutes to check in. Being charged $300 peso but provided a receipt with $285 peso.
3. Being stoped on the gate to be forcefully asked to buy towels and cellphone covers.
4. On the catamaran with the second dirtest cups to drive in "open bar" ( the dirtest cups will be during lunch time). There are over 120 people on the catamaran, without enough seats. People have to squeeze in so a lot of body touches with people you just met.
5. So called "snorking" is actually people kicking each other. There is almost nothing to see in the water except for a few small fishes
6. Lunch place is a terrible terrible place called "icebar". It is worst than Gulag where people are fighting to get worst food possible. Anything that looks not so bad has extra charge. The plastic cups are the dirtest cups possible. They are only rinsed before serving to the next guests. Many people in the tour chose to be hungry rather than eat or drink there.
7. It takes another 30 min to get to downtown Isla Mujeres.
8. Downtown Isla Mujeres is nice but very very crowded. You can step on people when walking on the beach. The washrooms on the beach charge 10 peso or 15 peso for entry. If you walk away from the beach, there are sales people everywhere trying to stop you from viewing the island.
9. The tour guide bring an empty coke bottle to ask around the catamaran for tips, which is so aggressive.
10. After leaving the catamaran, people are waiting on their bus for over 1 hour before departing. Again, a lot of sales boys approach you.

I will drive to Cancun. Is there anywhere to park my car?

We were about about 7 hours. A bit of snorkeling on the way , really good buffet lunch on the Isla , excellent drinks table service , 3 hours to wander around or swim/shop. The N, E, side is very picturesque and uncrowded . Then back to the mainland - drinks and dancing on the boat. A fun day!

We're staying at the Live Aqua Cancun. Where's the closest pick up spot from there?
Written April 27, 2023
You should be able to book this through your hotel and the excursions desk will arrange for you to get picked up at your hotel.
Otherwise (no excursions desk) you would need to arrange for a taxi to take you to the dock and then board from there. You should be able to book tickets directly through the website if your hotel cannot arrange it for you.

I have no idea. Our stayed at Excellence Playa Mujeres and walked over to the marina with a group of people that were going. I’m sure there are probably more groups / catamarans that go besides the one we took.

I am unsure. I believe we had about 20 on our tour maybe a few more.

We were there about 3 hours. It included time for the buffet lunch and some time in the ocean/beach. We have been to the island before the pandemic and many of the shops we remember had gone out of business. It was more about the cruise and if the snorkeling had happened. If you want to spend time at the Isle it is better to take the ferry. Far less expensive and you are not bound to a time restriction
