- ginakM980VE00Great, easy tourMe and my mom had a great time. The cenotes were beautiful. We loved our tour guide Suzanna because she taught us so much like the original city was called Zama. (The dawn/sun) Tulum is the name the Spaniards gave it because they couldn’t speak the Mayan language very well! (Suzanna’s take) My take, because they were colonialists.
- Torianna F00HorribleThey don’t pick up from downtown but never told me. They had my hotel location 2.5 months in advance and told me the day before to meet them at the meeting point in the hotel zone. The problem with that is this your ends late and there’s no Uber service in hotel zone so me and my baby would be been on the public bus at night. I disputed the charge sbf booked with dream tours! It was great! A charger bus with wifi, restroom, a/c and usb outlets!
- Aman B00Was worth what we have spent on our tour with this company and we would like to book more in future. It was a fantastic tour but they need to give more time to explore the sites on our own and the guide was fantastic. We recommend to others to book the tour with this company.
- clairekF582WG00Logistical nightmare, good destinationsTo start, this tour was not run by the people TripAdvisor said it was. The "central pickup and dropoff location" in Tulum was a 30 minute walk from my hotel, 5 minutes for the other Tulum guests, which is a bit ridiculous I had to pay the same for transportation as the rest of the tour. I tried and tried to get a pickup location and they kept saying 24 hours before we will let you know...then 9pm the night before....actually got it after 9pm probably so I couldn't complain. The "tour" of tulum was not good, the guide did not speak barely any English. No English speakers knew what was going on for the whole day, but that's fine because this is not an English speaking country and we figured it out, but I booked a tour to know some history so it was disappointing at the Tulum site. We had a different guide at Coba and he was great! Should be noted you take taxi bikes and have to pay for the way back if you don't want to walk. The itinerary also says free 45 minutes at Coba, we had 0 free time at Coba which was so disappointing because it is the highlight of this tour. It also says lunch is "at archeological site" after Tulum visit. Well. We had lunch at 3:30pm before going into the cenote. I ate a light breakfast because of the timing I was given, mistake. The cenote also includes some Mayan cultural experiences, unknown to any of us. Just wish I knew the actual itinerary so I could have planned my day differently or booked a different tour with free time at Coba.
- Florence279200Fantastic tour just bring extra snacks!Very chuffed with this tour, we were sceptical as it was cheaper than other tours and the reviews were a bit mixed. However, we had a fantastic time. Our tour guide Jorge was brilliant, he was friendly, knowledgable, inclusive to everyone, and had a good sense of humour. Tulum was beautiful but rather busy which was to be expected, you don’t get a great deal of time to explore by yourself (we only had about 30-40 minutes to run around) but that seems to be the norm with all these tours. Coba was fantastic and less busy and again short but sweet. The trip includes a man to cycle you in a tricycle back from the ruins to the main entrance of coba which is a nice touch. Lunch was given to us about 3:30pm and a cereal bar and a few bottles of water were given beforehand, so it’s probably worth taking your own snacks too. Lunch was good, the Cenote was ok nothing spectacular, and we got to try some authentic Mayan chocolate. It’s worth noting you need to provide another 25USD per person for entry, but this info is included in the email. It was a long day (12-13hours in total) and some members of the group struggled to keep up towards the end but Jorge handled it really well and made sure everyone had a good time. Throughly recommend, just bring extra snacks!
- Texangal3900Fun, beautiful, and educationalWhile we enjoyed our cruise sponsored tour, it was like most, not enough time in the location. The guide was very informative and gave lots of history on Tulum, but it was too crowded and we did not stay long enough to really enjoy it. The cenotes swimming was fun, but having done it, I now know this is not necessarily good combination if you are on a cruise as there just isn’t enough time. We booked through the cruise line because we knew it would be risky to go to Tulum from Cozumel on our own and get back on time and we were right. Our tour was late returning and if we had done this on our own it could have been a disaster because the ship doesn’t wait for individual passengers who are late. Over all we enjoyed seeing Tulum and the cenotes, but know our next trip there will be during a stay in Mexico so that we can stay as long as we want.
- 240nileshj00Great Experience.Alan was a great tour guide. He shared tons of history and details about Mayan culture. We went to the Mayan Temples, Cenote as the key highlights. Just that going one way is 3 hours so in total 6 hours of travel just driving back and forth. I wished they had more water bottles. We were just handed one each per person.
- D1818LRsamc00Amazing Day TripHad an amazing day trip, our tour guide Martin was very informative and made the experience very enjoyable. Ivan the driver drove very smoothly and got us to our destinations on time. I would recommend this trip to anyone.
- rodolfogV5450II00Best experienceThis experience has been thus far one of my favorites from all my traveling. Very much recommend for those who are visiting Cancun for the first time and are not sure what to do or are skeptical about which other vendors to trust. 100% recommend. The bus that picks you up is very comfortable and clean. You are able to take additional clothing, backpack, second pair of shoes, snacks. The bus stores them safely while you enjoy the activities. Chichen Itzá was mind blowing. And the cenote was a really fun experience. Martin was a very great guide in this whole experience. 1000000% recommend
- Madhura M00An enjoyable day tripThe Cenote was excellent!! Chichen Itza was a good learning experience. The bus drive and organized hotel pick up was comfortable and convenient. The reason I did not give it a 5 was because I had a difficult time understanding our tour guide Martin, who spoke more in Spanish than English and kept alternating between the two languages
- EveT20200Great tourLoved our tour guide Martin and the driver! Martin was very knowledgeable, entertaining and kept us all organized. Everything was great on the tour, a couple of suggestions: - spend a bit more time at Chichen Itza - we had 2 hrs and this barely gave us time to explore & check out the souvenirs - spend a bit more time in the colonial city. We had time for ice cream and a quick pic of the square, but I think there was so much more to explore Overall, the tour was great! The buses were well equipped, AC was strong and refreshing and the narration wonderful
- Mocexx00Great tourGreat trip. Good tour guide that gave helpful tips when visiting locations. Comfortable bus ride between locations. Strongly recommend taking the tour with Chichen Itza in morning and senote in afternoon.
- 327abelb00Amazing tour and tour guidesAmazing tour! Exceptional service and value. I would highly recommend anyone looking for a tour to consider these folks!
- angusj11300A Mexican must-doMartin was a fabulous guide. Very knowledgeable and we really enjoyed our time with him. The tour was really good however it was an hour late to pick us up which only left us with 1.5hrs for lunch and the cenotes (not sure if that is normal as it did feel a little rushed). All in all would go again. Shout out to our bus driver Danilo for smooth sailing all day.
- Sherpa46510500Five points.Amazing trip! Recommend to my friends! MARTIN Guide 0and 0DANILO bus driver are Very professional!!

Our experience with this tour was not the best experience. When signing up for the tour it states that they will pick you up between 7-8 am. When I received the email on the pick up time it stated that it would be 8:35 am. We were picked up at 9:15 am. We also had more stops and people to pick up afterwards. We headed to the actual destination (chichen itza) well after 10 am.
The tour guide was pleasant and was nice. Both the tour agents were also knowledgeable. The bus driver was nice as well.
After the site (chichen itza) instead of heading to the cenote (we headed to a different one since Ik kil was closed), they informed us that they had to make another detour, as one of their buses had broken down and needed us to go pick up their passengers. This was not a big deal to me, however i do think it’s important to note as we were already so very behind schedule.
Lunch on the itinerary was suppose to be 2:00 pm, we arrived their well after 4:30.
Afterwards we headed to the city of Vallodolid. We did not get the full 30 minutes in the city either as when we pulled into it the sun was already setting.
Even simple requests by myself to the tour agency were denied. They were very unaccommodating.
I would not recommend this tour. There are plenty of other tour options, please look at those first.
Also if you do decide to book with this tour agency, please make sure to have 994 pesos ready. You do have to pay the tax for the tour, in addition to the money that you already payed to book the tour. They will not let you onto the bus until that is payed.

Our tour guides, Juan & Luis, were amazing! They were so passionate about teaching us more about the Mexican culture. They both spoke very well in English & Spanish. The company they worked for was Ekinox Tours.
Time @ Chichen Itza was very good. I would recommend picking up souvenirs there but only paying in EXACT change & not buy souvenirs from the Mayan village where you are served lunch. They are overpriced. I would have liked less time @ lunch and more time to spend in Valladolid. It was such a nice / cute city with a lot to do but only got 25 minutes to spend there. The cenote was amazing and beautiful! Highly recommend this tour for the price. It is a very long day, but so so worth it for the money spent.

Absolutely amazing day! Our tour guide Alan and driver Alfredo were great. Our stops included a tequila distillery (main reason was a bathroom stop but there was a beautiful field of agave and an artisanal gift shop, for 10-15 minutes), Chichen Itza (for 2 hours), Hacienda Maya (this is where the included buffet is and the cenote, for 1.5-2 hours), and lastly the city of Valladolid (for 35 minutes). The drive was pretty long but not bad, seats were comfy so I slept through most of it. The day in general is long, be prepared with comfy shoes, sunscreen, LOTS of water (on our day it was 93 degrees but with the humidity it was up to 106!) and snacks as they advise you. When we got to Chichen Itza we were placed in groups of 9 (bigger groups beware if you don't want to get split up, this is a new COVID regulation) and one certified tour guide led us around the ruins. Our tour guide, Carlos, did amazing and was super knowledgeable. If anyone is thinking of coming here without a group/company, that's good too BUT make sure you pay for a certified tour guide when you get there. It's just so much better to understand the meaning behind the Mayan structures. We payed $30 each for the admission fee for Chichen Itza which we were well aware of when we booked this tour so that's great, no surprises. Some fees we weren't aware of were at the Cenote where life jackets are mandatory and cost $2 USD each, and the locker was $2 USD each also. At the buffet, drinks are NOT included. I had my water so I was good. My boyfriend payed $3 USD for orange juice, I believe that was the price for a water bottle too. Overall amazing experience. 10/10 recommend! We got back to our hotel at about 8 pm.

Our tour was lead by Cesar and driver Fernando and they were fantastic. The English was very understandable, informative, and engaging. Pickup was incredibly easy from our hotel. The guide spoke on a mic on the bus to prep us for each destination, telling us his suggestions and general knowledge (ex. bathroom locations, cultural history, etc.) so I never felt lost, bored, or confused. I didn't have too many expectations, but I'm truly impressed by the experience. I was worried from looking at the itinerary that we would exit the bus, take a few photos, and depart, but the pacing was really great. I didn't think our time was too rushed or too slow.
On top of the tour fee is the $30USD/533MXN skip the line fee for Chichen Itza (which you can choose not to do and wait in the long lines w/o the guide) and you really do just walk right in. We got about an hour walking around the area with the guide telling us about the history and culture and it was super informative and fun. He chatted with our group for a bit longer since we were still interested and then we got about 30 minutes to take pictures/shop which was a perfect amount of time. We were provided two bottles of water each.
At the cenote, there is a 40MXN fee for a lifejacket if you decide to swim and optional 40MXN for a locker. Changing rooms and showers are also there. We had two hours for swim/eat. Our tour arrived before most of the others so if you decide to swim first, there is almost no crowd. The buffet we had afterward was pretty good (drinks are not included in the price).
After we get free time in Valladolid which is a small colonial style city square that you get dropped off at. There is a choice to do a tequila tasting but I forgoed that and went off to get some desserts nearby that Cesar recommended.
Overall, really impressed by the care and professionalism and hopefully you get our duo on your tour as well.
There's a lot of walking and moving, possibly under direct sun (it was really overcast on our visit and not too hot but I can definitely imagine it can get intensely hot). I would consider this if you have mobility issues, young children, etc.

An amazing unparalleled experience from top to bottom in no small part due to the engaging guidance from Cesar and the masterful driving from Captain Daniel. Comfortable charter bus ride with A/C and bathroom makes the two hour (three including hotel drop offs) drive go by fast. Cesar loves his job and you can see how his passion for Mayan culture and people translates into his informative, educational, and mindful explanations. He really made Chichen Itza come to life and we left with an even deeper appreciation for the Mayan civilization and their technological advancements. The cenote we visited was a slice of paradise and the lunch was delicious after a refreshing swim - perfect after all the sun. Drinks cost extra but it's worth the $2 USD to try "Monkey Blood" which is lemonade and hibiscus tea (like a tropical Arnold Palmer). Tequila tasting was not really tequila tasting but actually a sampling of various local spirits and liquors that are unique to the region (which is actually way better because we got to taste things that we never even knew existed). Could not recommend this tour more strongly for anyone visiting Cancun - I wish that Cesar could lead every tour that I'll ever go on. Come for the info, stay for the jokes. Absolutely stellar service - thank you so much, Cesar and Daniel!

The cenote was AMAZING and the food was delicious. I really appreciated the guided tour portion of Chichen Itza! I recommend to bring your own masks since they will be needed for waiting in line at Chichen Itza or when you’re getting food at the buffet line or you can just purchase when you exit the bus. I’d also recommend some cash (around USD $3) for the life vest for the cenote or extra for the locker. Keep in mind the conversion rate from pesos to USD. I received change for a $10 USD when I gave them a $20 USD. This was on me since I didn’t know until after I’d left what the conversion rate was. Ivan (our driver) and Alan (our guide) made this trip super great! :)

Jan. 2020 • Family
We had a family group of 14 for our tour on Jan 2,2020. Our first stop was at an agave plantation where they make tequila (one of only two plantations in Mexico). It was pretty cool. Our tour guide, Tacho, was great! He was enthusiastic, funny, and knowledgeable. He spoke English well and he did a great job switching between Spanish and English for explanations. Our next stop was Chichen Itza. The tour was thorough, with some time at the end for shopping and photos on our own. My teenagers thought the tour was too long, but I expected that from them. I totally geeked out learning all about the Mayan history there. After the tour we went to a Cenote where we had a yummy buffet lunch and a short time to swim in the Cenote. We then boarded the bus for the small historical town of Valladolid. We stopped there for about 20 minutes...Enough time for a churro and bathroom break, then headed home.
Pros: Great, knowledge tour guide, comfortable bus, great lunch.
Cons: Time it took to pick up other tour-takers, A/C went out on the back half of the bus on the way home, would have liked a little more time at the Cenote (it was incredibly busy the day we were there)
All in all, I thought it was great and would definitely recommend it.

We absolutely loved our tour of ChichenItza, Ik Kil etc. It was my 2nd time but my husbands' first. Alan was an excellent guide, elaborating a little more than my guide in 2016. He is friendly fun and entertaining - the same goes for Manuel, the bus driver. He played great Mexican music on the bus and every now and then, he would break into song. We loved this. The places we saw were amazing, well worth the hype and the tour fee (really affordable, even for us South Africans with a terribly poor exchange rate). Even though I dont drink alcohol, I also enjoyed the little tour of an algave distillery. All in all, highly recommended!

This was a great tour! Highly recommend! Professor Balam and Caesar are very knowledgeable about the sites you visit. Having a guided tour such as this - you learn and appreciate what you see. Our favourite part had fo be seeing the Chichen Itza! For us, the tour started at 8am, we were expected to be in the hotel lobby (Rui Palacd Las Americas) by 7:40am. It was close to a 3h drive to Chichen Itza. We made a quick 20 minute stop at a agave distillery, where you can grab snacks, water, and souvenirs. After this, it’s Chichen Itza, then about a 30 mins drive to cenote (where there is a lunch buffet, drinks are not included), and then another 10 min drive to the city of Valladolid (enjoy churros, ice cream, elote). I do recommend that you bring pesos with you, although almost all places did take USD/visa. The tour recommends wearing shoes - I was ok in comfortable sandals. Definitely bring hat, sunscreen, towels, water proof phone case AND water shoes would be great for when you’re swimming in the cenote. You’re able to leave your stuff on the bus! The bus is comfortable, and has a (clean!) washroom available as well. Overall, we had a great time, and I’m sure you will too with these awesome guides! Enjoy :)

Impressive historical site of xichen itza. Well preserved and partially restaured. You need to pay 30USD on top for the entry per person. The beating heat unfortunately do not go well together with long lasting explanations from our guide about the site. Getting straighter to the point with key intersesting facts would be enough. After 15min of explanation, half of the group was not focused anymore, in despair research for shadow. (you can rent an umbrella for 60pesos, or bring yours).
Be prepared to be approached by pushy salespeople from the beginning until the very end, who are all selling pretty much the same thing (3-4 stands and you have seen them all). They like to blow in a kind of water pipe, imitating the jaguar roar. it is funny the first and second time, but not anymore after 50.
The 2hours stop at the cenote is also impressive landmark (Cenote Saamal). But managed as a company, which very much remove a part of its charm. You need to pay extra 50pesos for renting a mandatory life jacket, another 50 for a locker. The lunch was inclusive and consists of a buffet (the employees serve you and the waiting line can build up). You need to pay your drinks extra (50-150pesos per drink)
Finally the colonial town of Valladolid, which has a great charm :) you will only get 30min to visit it all...where 2hours would be a reasonable time to enjoy what the city has to offer. And tequila / jewelry salesman will jump at your neck once you are out of the bus.
The visited locations definitely are worth it and deserving 5 stars. The organizators are friendly and knowledgeable, they will encourage you to buy from their specific friends salesperson along the trip.
The personalized Maya calendar is a great idea if you are looking for a nice present (23USD)

My Hotel is located in Playa Del Carmen few blocks away from the beach.
If I select Pick-up option, will they come to my hotel and pick us up?
Our hotel royalton splash riveria cancun is not on list for pick up. How can we get picked up for this excursion?

I advise you to confirm via WhatsApp. They confirmed our hotel pickup via email (with booking confirmation) and few hours before the trip they told us they won’t pick us up and we have to take a 40 km trip by taxi to a pickup spot. They won’t pay for the taxi of course…

We are staying Valentin Rivera Maya resort. Do you pick up from this location or should I book transportation for closest pick up point?

Hi! Is there an option to be picked up at Cancún but return to Tulum after the tour? Thanks

I’m sorry I can’t help with that but I doubt it would be possible unless one of the operators leaves from Tulum and you might be able to transfer at Chichen Itza but you are given bus numbers and wrist bands
Sounds tricky to me
Dear All, i would like to book a tour on Thursday and my question is, I couldn’t find my Hotel at your Pick up hotel. I’m staying at Hotel Parador Cancun center and would it be possible to book and pick me up from there? Thank you best regards Abdi

This company does not necessarily operate this way. They will contact you by 5:30PM the night before departure to let you know where your pickup location will be.
It MAY be at your hotel / resort or it may not be... It depends on how many people they need to pickup and where they are all coming from.
Is this tour good for solo travelers or is geared more toward couples/groups?

Most of the people on my trip were couples or families but I did it solo
The guides had reasonable English and when we got to Chichen Itza the non Spanish speaking group waited about ten minutes for a guide to take us around the main sites

When you're on there webpage arranging your tour, there are options for pickup. Click on the drop down arrow, and it will show a list of hotels and a meeting place that they offer pickup service. I stayed next door at Sandos and was picked up, so I would think Secrets would be within their pickups. You can always send them a message, they're responsive.
Enjoy your trip!
