San Miguel de Allende is a colorful, colonial-era town famous for its spectacular natural scenery. While most travelers stick to the sights in town, this adventure-filled horseback excursion will take you out of the cobblestoned streets and deep into the countryside, where you’ll have a chance to gallop along cliffs and canyons for a one-of-a-kind travel experience.
What to Expect
San Miguel de Allende is one of Mexico’s most popular towns, but most tourists stick to popular sights within the picturesque colonial-era historic center. During this one-of-kind horseback tour, you’ll escape the crowds and head to the scenic countryside for an adventure-filled excursion across stunning cliffs and grassy fields.
You’ll ride your horse to the edge of Coyote Canyon, where you’ll descend to the winding river of La Virgen. The tour includes riding instructions, so it’s well-suited to both novice and seasoned riders, as well as anyone looking to escape the tourist track. Gallop at your own pace, hop off the saddle to search for geodes, or dip your toes into the river. You can also upgrade to soak your muscles at a nearby hot spring.
From there, you’ll ride your trusty steeds up the canyon to a towering cliff, where you’ll be treated to a spectacular panorama of the surrounding countryside, with the option to rappel off the cliff face. Top off the day with an authentic, ranch-style meal, including homemade tortillas, organic cheese, and local cactus.

Great way to experience central Mexican landscape!

Very fun way to experience the scenery and to meet people. Our guide was great. The food was good. The horses were well behaved.

Well trained staff, and horses. Beautiful scenic canyon. Delicious food. The hot springs isn't so much a hot springs, it's more of a water park and spa with indoor hot pools. It's not in the same area as the horse ride you take a van...More

Wasn't sure what to expect but everything was very well-organized and professional. Had never ridden a horse and it turned out to be easier - and so much more fun - that I thought it would be. We rode through a gorgeous canyon, through shallow...More

I am really not sure, you’d have to check with the provider. The trail we took would be too difficult for little kids - they may have other options though.
