It doesn’t get any better than this
We did the 45 mins wagon tour through Banff. The ranch was very festive and cozy. We interacted with the horses (they have the greatest hair), there were fire pits to keep warm, hot chocolate, incredibly friendly staff, a small gift shop in one of the barns, and great parking!! We couldn’t have asked for a better experience here.

      I was robbed
You people stole my money. Almost 900 dollars. I book the trip for 11:00AM and I arrived at 11:00AM and apparently I had to arrive 30 minutes earlier which I didn’t notice. For this reason they didn’t let my family go for the ride nor allowed us to take the next ride or book us in for any other day or refund a dime of our money. I don’t think this is fair and I think this is robbery.

      Great wagon ride and BBQ
Fantastic evening riding on a wagon through the forest to a BBQ. The food was amazing and the staff were lovely. It was cold but then it was October. Blankets provided to help but wrap up warm. We had a great evening. Thank you. Wayne and Luke the horses were beautiful and our cowboys were lovely.

      Odin and Kiwi, awesome horses!!
We signed up for the 3 hour ride which included the cookout. This was not part of the options above. Now, the signup was easy and check in was smooth. The people were very friendly and easy to talk to. We checked and waited for everyone to check in. Once that was completed, the cowboys/cowgirls assigned us horses, i presume based on weight. They matched us up well, made friend with the horse and saddled up. The ride up to the cookout took an hour and was an easy ride. The horses were very well trained and felt they were on autopilot but did have some riding actions we had to do. Other than that, it was smooth and easy. The cookout was in a great location with everything, most importantly, the steak was cooked perfectly and delicious. The sides were good but the beans were incredible. I would definitely recommend the cookout. The cookout was about an hour and we prepared to saddle up and head back down. On the ride back, we took a separate trail and the trail rider lead was very informative and good at providing histories and stories. Overall, the ride was fun, the food good and the cowboys/cowgirls there were great. I recommend taking the 3 hour ride and the cookout is worth it. My horse Odin was the best and took good care of me. Kiwi, my wife's horse was a snacker and was fun to watch.

      Very nice
Loved this, really enjoyed it, the ladies that "drove" us were entertaining and confident. The horses appeared well cared for. The campsite was way better than I expected with great food and wonderful staff. We roped dummy horses, played horse shoe games and really couldn't fault it.

      Fun
This was a fun experience. We had originally signed up for a horseback ride. Their weight limit is 130. My boyfriend weighs just under that but with clothes and shoes is over and we could not ride. We had to do the covered wagon. That sucked, but it is what it is. The wagon ride was fun. It has pretty views. The dinner was delicious and the staff was all friendly.

      Not to be missed !!
This was a really fun way to have dinner ! A scenic ride in a covered wagon (tarps UP so you can see out ) You pass by lakes, go through wooded areas and end up at the cutest venue for a steak dinner. A covered patio with a giant wood fire pit. The food was great, the staff was super friendly. Perfect for the entire family.

      Do NOT miss this opportunity!
This was amazing! Fantastic views, food, and staff. From a horse person's point of view it was so good to see well fed, shod and kindly cared for horses. Beautifully trained, taking us leisurely along the spectacular Bow River. Do not miss this opportunity. As a bonus, we were welcomed back at the ranch by a herd of about 20 wild Elk that came down from the forest. A fantastic ending to our day!!

      Absolutely Amazing
What an amazing experience. We went on the evening 3 hour cook out ride. Staff were very frendliy, helpful, professional and knowledgeable. The horses were really good and very quietly natured. The food was excellent. The hole experience was excellent. I cannot rate these guys at Banff trail rides high enough, I would recommend to anyone, if we had the time I would be booking another ride, but unfortunately we are on the move tomorrow to a new destination.

      Nice experience
Our ride was totally fantastic. Our guides Erin, Jess and Dakota prepped us and ensured we were paired with the proper horse. The horses were calm and very nice to ride. Our trail guides were very nice and knowledgeable giving us some info about the horses and the region. We crossed the river twice and also rode along the golf course for a bit. There was some elevation changes but nothing too drastic for those afraid of heights. As someone who has ridden in the past, I would have liked to trot or gallop a bit but I fully understand the varying degree of riders they contend with on a daily basis and the need to make everyone feel comfortable. I would do this again.

      Fun Family Adventure
What an amazing way to see the mountains. My family and I did the wagon ride and the guides were friendly and knowledgeable. When we arrived for our lunch we were impressed with the offerings. My nine year old daughter said it was the best steak she had ever had. The guides even helped my kids play some games. I would highly recommend.

#horsebackbanff. We enjoyed our ride on Oct 5 and would recommend it to anyone who has this on their bucket list, especially in the fall when the leaves are turning golden color. I have never been on a horse, so this is perfect for beginners. The staff at Warner Stables was friendly, professional and followed all Covid rules. The instructions the staff gave us prior to starting our ride made me feel comfortable and confident. Our horses were well trained, obedient and friendly. Our leader was Lindsay, She was very upbeat, experienced and informative. The trail ran through a forest along side the Cave and Basin and the Bow river. Lindsay would at times point out something of interest along the way, such as the bear claws on trees.

My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed the 1 hour Bow River Ride. It was the perfect ride for us as we are both beginners. Both our guides were amazing and they constantly made sure every rider was ok. We felt safe and completely looked after the whole time. Our horses, Timone and Dexter, were gentle and so well behaved. The views of the mountains were absolutely breathtaking and we strongly recommend this experience to anyone looking for a peaceful ride through nature. We had hoped, however, to see more wildlife during our ride, although not seeing wildlife certainly beats coming face to face with a grizzly!! Thank you Banff Trail Riders!

Riding astride a beautiful roan who responded with immediacy to my gentle moves, we moved along a well traveled trail along the Bow, amidst trees, green & lush with foliage. Care was stressed for our safety by knowledgeable guides. It touched my heart to hear our rides were all rescue horses. I hope I left a kind imprint upon Boundary for he certainly made my day & trip to Banff worthwhile. 😊 I was informed guides wern't taking pictures due to covid, however a friendly Corider stepped up & helped to create an account of the memory. If you have the opportunity, I would highly recommend. Thank you very much Banff Trail Riders.

I wish I was writing a positive review, but we sadly our experience was far from positive. We were a group of 6 (4 adults and two children) who were really looking forward to the ride. Due to road circumstances that were out of our hands, we realized we were going to arrive later for the instructions at 4:30 PM but before the ride started at 5 PM. We called at 4:07 PM to let them know we were running late. The person who picked up the phone told us we should go to the stables anyway but we may or may not get on the ride. Fair. So we rushed, hoping for the "may get on the ride" since we had already filled our waivers in advance and since most of us were already horse riders that we could get an abridged version of the instructions and be able to catch up. We arrived about 8 minutes ahead of the ride to be told that we would not get on the ride because we couldn't make 4:30. They told us we that the person we talked to worked for reservations not for the stables and they're not responsible for what they told us. This was surprising since it would make sense that reservations would call the stables (as outlined in several reviews here). We asked for options, they told us the following ride was sold-out, and that the next day was sold out. We argued that when we called to tell them that we wouldn't be able to make 4:30 PM that we weren't told that it's impossible to get on if we weren't exactly on time, we weren't given alternative options or dates. Essentially, you missed it, tough luck! Had we been told that we simply won't be on the ride, at least we would have made alternative plans or visited different spots instead of wasting our time rushing on the highway to be met with such a cold attitude. I'm surprised to read that others were offered different ride types or rebooking at 50% of the cost because we were offered none of that. The next day, the manager calls us back at 2 PM, we told her we couldn't talk since we were just getting into the water for rafting. We returned their call the next day to be told that their policy was 24 hours to deal with a complaint, and that our file was closed, and when we asked them to be more flexible, we were told "we're just not flexible". Translation: Go bang your head against a wall. This 24 hour/complaint policy was never mentioned even once since we expressed our dismay to 5 different individuals. We're deeply disappointed by this poor level of customer service, and certainly would not recommend booking with this company. Their rides could be decent, but customer service makes or breaks an experience, especially when you're traveling, especially when you have children with you, especially when you have out-of-province visitors, and for many other reasons. If there's any chance of you arriving late at the stables for ANY reason, may as well just light your money on fire, it's the same result. Also, no, BTR, when you miss a flight, airlines offer alternatives, so please don't use that as justification for lazy customer service. I hope you use this review to improve your customer service in the future. Thanks.

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to review. I have spoken to barns and the reservations team in regards to your booking. We have a 24 cancellation policy. We cannot change, rebook or cancel tours within 24 hours of the tour time for a refund. This is stated on the website, the booking confirmation, and must be checked off when creating the booking. We do not have a complaint policy. We are strict with arriving early as that is when we would go through safety instructions. We cannot let riders on without going through a safety demonstration. When you called us about being late, we mentioned that going on the ride may not be possible. This was stated several times during the phone call. Our rides are booked out almost daily so re-booking is not an option. In previous years, we used to offer alternatives for late arrivals but the policy has since changed. I are sorry to hear about your experience and will remind our customer service team to be more empathetic.

This place is a scam. They do not inform you that you must arrive 30 minutes prior and if you are 1-5 mins late due to phone time or loss of service or simply a wrong turn, they will not allow you to ride or accommodate rescheduling. They will charge you the full amount. Their prices are expensive to begin with. If you want to reschedule you have to pay all over again for being 2 minutes late. This is ridiculous. The costumer service is outrageous. They are incredibly rude and act as if they hate their job. I also found them to be a tad racist. Do not go here!! If you plan to book call them over the phone and make sure to ask them ALL the information as they will hide it from you so they get free money and less work to do. Disgusting.

Im sorry but from our side we tell every customer multiple times when to turn up for their ride. It is just not possible to load people who are late as it disrupts everyone else who turns up on time for the rest of the day. We can accommodate people if we have space. If we do not have space we can not reschedule. I also am offended that you can make the judgement that our staff hate their jobs. We have lots of long term staff who would leave if they truly hate their jobs. Also to call them racist is just slanderous. Please read all of our review, for the customers who turn up on time they have an amazing experience.

Horse ride was fun but very slow & through a trail with not much to see.

We never stopped to take photos and they did not offer to take out photos either. You are expected to take photos as you are riding the horse. If you are with someone else, make sure to take photos of them before you leave as it can be hard to take photos when riding in a single line.

Felt like the staff was rushing us off at the end.

Worst and most humiliating experience ever!!!! When we arrived we were all weighed but we’re not able to see the number on the scale as the worker could only see it inside the shack. The worker told
    em
that I was over the weight limit when I knew I was easily at least under 40 lbs from the weight limit as I weigh myself daily and use different scales. The worker refused to budge saying she had to
go by what the scale said even if it was way off. she refused to refund my husband the $100 ride fees. So not only was I humiliated, but we also had to pay for it too. I had to sit in my car the whole time
my family went on the rise during our trip. I would highly not recommend this company to
anyone, They are out here to scam you and rip you off your money.
I took a photo of myself on a scale so everyone has proof as she wouldn’t provide me with proof.

We sincerely apologize for the distress and embarrassment you experienced during your visit. We understand how important it is for our guests to feel comfortable and respected, and we deeply regret that this was not your experience. Our policy requires that all riders must weigh less than 230lbs/104kg, fully dressed, for safety reasons and health of our horses. The clothing can sometimes make some difference in the final weight. Our staff follows strict guidelines to ensure the safety of all participants, and they are required to adhere to the readings provided by our calibrated scales. We understand that not being able to see the scale reading yourself can be frustrating. However, our staff has no reason to misrepresent the results, as their primary concern is the safety and well-being of our guests and horses. We are sorry that this process caused you to feel humiliated. Regarding the refund, our policy clearly states that refunds are not issued if guests are disqualified from riding due to not meeting the weight requirements to which they committed at the time of booking. We appreciate your feedback and will take it into consideration as we strive to improve our services. Once again, we apologize for the negative experience and thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Really enjoyed this one hour trail ride. It was wonderful to ride through the fresh snow and to see the mountains and other scenery. The staff were friendly and helpful. It was easy to book. They are strict about your arrival time 30 minutes prior to the start of the ride, as it takes awhile to get everyone geared and mounted, so make sure you heed the warnings. Overall would highly recommend for a memorable experience in the Rockies.

Had a great time on the Bow River Ride.
At the beginning they give you clear instructions on how to ride and steer your horse which is helpful for inexperienced riders like myself.
We had a guide at the front and back, the guide at the front was talking about the wildlife and local legends although I could barely here him which didn't bother me much as I was so much just enjoying the stroll along the trail whilst being surrounded by amazing scenery. When we got back the guides were very willing photographers taking pictures of riders on our horses which was great. My only regret is that I didn't take the 2hr ride as the 1hr was over so quickly but I would highly recommend these guys especially if you don't have any experience...

DO NOT BOOK! We arrived 10 mins PRIOR to our tour time. There had been a sink hole on Alberta 1 and a whole lane was shut down-so we were late for half hour prior check in due to tons of traffic. They would not allow us on the tour and would not refund our $250US. They just said sorry-it was in the fine print when you consented to the purchase. Extremely disappointed in the lack of customer service. They were completely ambivalent about the whole situation and happy to take our money.

We genuinely apologize for the inconvenience you experienced during your recent attempt to join our tour. We understand that unforeseen circumstances such as traffic delays can disrupt plans, and we regret any frustration this may have caused.
