- ADreger00Best Guides in the RockiesBest guiding company in the Rockies. Dennis is amazing to work with and the guides are exceptional - Christie & Mary are amazing as well as the others we had on our program. Highly recommend if you are looking for a guided hike in the Banff/Lake Louise Area.
- ahop100A fun trip with some great scenery along the way!We booked the eBike tour and hike to Johnson Canyon. The eBikes were fun and made the ride easy. Scott was our friendly and informative guide and he made sure we had a great time. You bike from Banff to Johnson Canyon and then hike up to the first set of falls in the Canyon. A shuttle brings you back to their shop in Banff. We made frequent stops at overlooks along the way and at one picnic area for a potty stop. We did have a bit of excitement on our trip as we had to detour to the 'high' road when a large black bear was making his way up the 'low' road towards us. Scott stopped and let us all see the bear and then hurried us along so the bear could continue on his way and not have to detour around us. He showed his respect for wildlife. I'm sure this doesn't happen all the time but it made for a great memory for us! A fun time and even though you are on eBikes you actually do get some exercise. These aren't throttle bikes but rather pedal assist bikes. Still pretty easy though and I recommend trying out one of their trips.
- Cal M00Did the trip with my wife it was off the charts we had a fantastic time. Our tour guide was very attentive very knowledgFantastic trip great tour guide she did a fantastic job very knowledgeable. We even got to see a black bear will definitely come back.
- 851annettet00Unbelievable!Fabulous hike and e-bike ride in the mountains! Our guide, Owen, was very knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, and enthusiastic 🤩 The views ain’t bad either 😍
- dolphin55Arlington00Highly RecommendThis was an amazing tour. I loved the combination of a hike and bike. Johnston Canyon was beautiful as well as the scenery on the bike ride portion. We stopped a few times on each for photos. Guides were great and equipment was good as well. I highly recommend this tour.
- donetab202200Wonderful Siteseeing Tour!!We went on this amazing tour today... What breathtaking sites we saw at both lakes. Owen was the perfect guide. The friendly, knowledgeable and went the extra mile to make sure both my husband and myself were take care of throughout the whole experience, which included an 8km hike on a beautiful trail. The weather was not as good as we had hoped but Owen had rain poncho, gloves and even walking poles. Totally prepared for it all. The snacks and sandwich lunch provided were great! Would do another tour again! Thanks for the experience.
- Venture62966800E-bikes are the best! This was our family's first e-bike experience and we all loved it! Scott was our guide. He gave clear, easy to understand instructions on operating the bikes and allowed us time to get comfortable riding before heading out to the Bow River Parkway. The ride to Johnston Canyon was amazing. We rode along the Vermillion Lakes and the parkway was filled with beautiful mountain views. Scott stopped at several scenic spots and shared lots of interesting history and facts about the area. Upon arriving at Johnston Canyon, he efficiently loaded our bikes on to the shuttle bus and then navigated us through the crowds walking up to the falls. The walk and the lower falls were both beautiful and Scott enhanced the trip with interesting facts about what we were seeing. It was very crowded but Scott was patient with everyone. We enjoyed the E-bike ride portion of the trip the most. It was a fun way to get to Johnston Canyon.
- operamusi00Pablo was the best guideThis full day of hiking was absolutely perfect because of our guide Pablo. He was so knowledgeable of the area and clearly skilled in leading these tours. It made all the difference. I would encourage anyone to use this company , and Pablo.
- Marbrardz00Great tour!My family and I took this tour and we loved it. We saw some beautiful views, and Denise our guide, was very nice and gave us some very interesting facts during the tour and the hike. We all were beginners and never used an e-bike, he patiently taught us and we really enjoyed the ride!
- V3161LSscottg00Scott Family Johnson Canyon/Banff eBike adventureWe were so impressed with the knowledge that our guide Scott had of the Johnston Canyon and general Banff area. He really made both the hike and eBike ride back a super enjoyable experience that exceeded our expectations. The transport and bikes were in excellent condition - the route and stops were perfect for both comfort and sightseeing. We had an amazing time and would highly recommend the White Moutain Adventure tours to friends and family!
- 13jillr00Great company for private guided hiking - they make it easy!We hired Sacha from white mountain adventures for a private guided hike. He was fantastic! We hiked the ice line parkway one day and were so pleased with his knowledge and expertise that we asked for him again another day. He took us over Cory Pass…it was awesome! We are experienced hikers and he did not hold back! Beautiful experience for both of us.
- lindaweber9000E-bike and Johnston canyon hikeChris was very nice and helpful. Even though a little rainy - we requested to do the e-bikes and it was a wonderful and beautiful ride. Very safe.
- Storyteller79148300Highly recommend!!So well organized! Michelle was an excellent guide and we would highly recommend this hike and e-bike half day outing.
- Tillys123400Great and fun way to see Johnston CanyonFun, fun, fun and the e-bikes make the trip accessible to families with riders of different levels. Scott is a great guide!
- ambergA682MM00Breathtaking!We absolutely love the story. Our tour guide was so friendly and knowledgeable, and the whole experience was breathtaking.

This was interesting in that it starts with a very long gondola ride & ski lift ride to get to the starting point. Was beautiful, with mountain and lake views. It was so peaceful, standing at the edge of the very still lakes with the sky reflected in them. There were a few places where the incline was a bit steep, but not for long. I do consider this to be more of a walk as opposed to a hike. Our guide, Storm, was very pleasant and knowledgeable and never rushed us at all. I would do another hiking tour with White Mountain Adventures!

Hi Susan,
Thank you for your glowing review of the Sunshine Meadows hike with White Mountain Adventures. It is sometimes a challenge to describe the experience. The hike is rated as 'easy', but it could also be described as a challenging walk I suppose :).
Your Canadian Rockies vacation is often over far to fast, with one arriving back at home with fond memories and photographs. It is part of our goal to create space in every program for clients to stop, take a few deep breaths and really experience the present moment. It sounds like Stormm was able to provide that to you with your description of enjoying the sky reflected in the alpine lakes. We hope you join us again!

This was an easy and enjoyable hike. Our guide was Sarah and she was amazing! She was super friendly and very knowledgeable about the area and the surroundings and history of the place. Thank you Sarah for storing my jacket in your locker so I wouldn't have to shlep it on the hike! It was much appreciated! And thanks for an amazing morning!

We were really looking forward to this hike, after seeing the beautiful pictures on Tripadvisor & the internet. We weren’t disappointed, as like every other highlight in Banff / Jasper, the views were spectacular & required no filter on the photos. Our guide Marie, was knowledgeable & good humoured, putting those of us in the group with trepidation about bears totally at ease, even making our calls to make the bears aware of our presence, a fun part of the journey. Marie’s experience with the area & the weather also meant that we turned back in time to miss out on a thunderstorm, which would have not only meant we’d have been exposed to the elements, but also have been stuck when the gondola down ceased while the storm passed. Merci beaucoup Marie!

Thank you for your review! Your review is a great example of how a guide can add value to your experience in Banff. It's easy to see how Marie's experience added to your enjoyment, while avoiding some potential bad luck with our variable mountain weather.
We value Marie's experience and her friendly nature, and share all our reviews with guides and office staff.
We look forward to another adventure with you in the future here in Banff.

My wife and I visited Banff National Park for the first time and decided to go on a guided hike. When our guide picked us up we found out that we were the only two people on the hike that day! Our guide Kristi was fantastic! She catered the hike to the two of us. She explained a lot about the park and the areas that we hiked in. She was fun and entertaining as well. The day could not have gone any better. Kristi is quite simply the best!

Hi John,
Thank you for your glowing review! It's a favorite part of my day to share these reviews with our guides, as they make all the difference in our client experiences. I can't guarantee a private trip for two with every daily guided hike, but I'm glad it happened for the two of you. We hope to see you again in Banff National Park, and please let us know when you are back this way.

While Sunshine Meadows is vast and has exquisite and beautiful lakes, flowers, and scenery, this is not an easy 5+hour hike! The gondola ride up to 7,000+ ft elevation is one of the few easy things. Some of the inclines were steep and challenging which makes this more a moderate hike, than an easy one. The guide tried to accommodate 3 people with limitations without impacting the others in the group. Several hikers stated they did not think it was a easy hike, in their experience. The question is why doesn’t the operator disclose the true difficulty? When I called the operator after the hike, was told “well, this is considered easy in the Canadian Rockies.” No apology. No refund. Hiker be aware! Do not support this operator! There are lots of other operators in the Banff area—use them!

Thank you for your review. We regret your hiking experience was more physically strenuous than you had anticipated. We endeavour to provide accurate descriptions of the trails we travel. Trail ratings are relative within a comparison set of hikes in the area, and of course relative to individuals (one person's 'easy hike ' rating could be seen as 'challenging hike' to another).
The Sunshine Meadows hiking trail we follow gains approximately 300 meters in elevation over 12km, which is about half the elevation gained on trails we offer as 'moderate'. It is rated as 'easy' according to trail maps offered by Sunshine Village, the operator that originally constructed the trails along with Parks Canada.
We welcome inquiries regarding any of our experiences, should a client feel unsure a trip is right for them, and we do our best to match trips to desired experience and level of exertion.
As your trip was purchased through Trip Advisor, a request for refund would need to be pursued through this agency.

Chris our guide went out of his way to make our experience perfect. We hiked thru meadows, saw fantastic mountain vistas and lake views. The hike was easy enough for us novices. It was the highlight of our visit to Banff
