Amazing discovery in our own backyard!
Sep. 2021
Lived in Alberta for over 20 years and had no clue how great this spot was. Our whole family enjoyed themselves and we couldn't even get half the park in! Gasoline Alley was amazing, with all the old school cars and gas pumps (with vintage signage everywhere!) Bakery was fantastic (fresh baked cheese buns anyone?) Lots of treats and some vintage carnival rides made the day complete. Yes, you need to bring your wallet - it is a little tourist-trappy. But the rides are free, so no complaints there. And the food was good! Need to go back to see the rest of the park. Oh yeah - the free boat road is worth the wait!

Thank you for providing a review of your visit, Jason. We are so glad you enjoyed your time at Heritage Park. We agree that with 127 acres of land and over 180 exhibits, performances and rides, it's hard to see the whole park in just one visit. A great option is our annual membership - it pays for itself in just three visits! We look forward to seeing you for a second visit at Heritage Park! Thanks again.

Great place to learn Candian pioneer life
It’s an amazing place to visit in Calgary and spend time with family and children. Great opportunity to learn about Canadian pioneer life before Candian Pacific Railway started. The gasoline car gallery was very attractive. Always check out the activities by scanning the QR code right before entering the gravel road. Keep water and snacks handy.

When we went it was a great place to explore and see. We loved the old carnival rides that are still operational. And of course the train ride around the park. Great place to visit!

Don’t do on a really hot day.
Took my granddaughter when it was 32 out and it was just way too hot. Not much shade when walking around and no shade while waiting for the boat. Not totally user friendly for seeing all the exhibits or even browsing some stores. Overall was OK value for the price.

Fantastic Day!
Jul. 2021
What an amazing place to visit! And we only saw bit and pieces of it. Every thing, other than food, in the park is included in your admission. We rode the steam engine around the park numerous times. Took the sternwheel paddlewheeler out onto the reserviour. We had a 3 year old and a infant with us so were somewhat limited in what we could do. The Midway was a big hit - ferris wheel, carousel, tilt&whirl, all were loved by our group. The Bakery was so so yummy - cinnamon buns were actually nothing special, but the butter tarts and the cheese buns were so good. Food at the Midway, the ice cream and the candy store was quite reasonably priced. We visited the Park and the zoo on this trip and I would go back to Heritage Park in a heartbeat. We didn't even get to check out any of the historical homes or the rance, but I'm sure we'll be back.

A really excellent day
Jul. 2021 • Friends
This was an excellent choice for a day in Calgary. We got the mid week 15% discounts and it wasn’t too busy at all. Despite Covid the place was well set up for distancing and sanitizing of hands, masks were optional by now (end of July 2020)
The steam train, paddle wheeler, wagon rides and midway were included in the admission price, and the layout was very pleasing. Plenty of tree cover if needed, it was a hot day so that was appreciated.
Food was ok, we would have loved more gluten free options but the GF chocolate brownie everyone sold was very good!
The best part was how knowledgeable the staff in the houses/buildings were, very impressive level of dedication and information, overall a lovely day. Travelled as a group of 3 adults.

A True Historical Gem
Jul. 2021
This is easily one of the best historical villages I have ever visited! The attention to detail in town reconstruction, and replica buildings such as Nelly McClung's House really enhanced the experience. There were many areas to visit in the town, encompassing different time periods, such as a ranch, a town centre, and a prospecting area, and each area had extremely welcoming staff to greet you and explain the historical significance of the area you were in. This village is great for adults who enjoy history, and kids will also enjoy their time spent here, with carriage rides, a steam locomotive, a paddleboat, and a midway devoted to carnival rides. This is a great experience for any history lovers visiting Calgary.

Wheelchair Inaccessible
Jun. 2021
I enjoyed Heritage Park to a point. It is a beautiful park with lovely scenery and the people working there were all friendly and helpful. The problem is that so many of the areas claim to be wheelchair accessible and that is simply not true. The roads are gravel which is difficult for a wheelchair and the sidewalks are vintage boardwalks requiring steps to get off and on. The park would need a lot of alterations in order to become accessible and they should at the very least, stop claiming to be wheelchair accessible. The admission was much too expensive for the many limitations that I encountered.
