About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 953elyr0 contributionsStay Away : Disgraceful Calgary BusinessThis business is a disgrace to the local community and I recommend avoiding it at all costs. I had been looking forward to booking ski lessons here for my 3-year-old and myself for weeks (as a single parent), waiting for the perfect snow day. When it finally came we booked the day before as they recommended to us earlier in the week. After dropping a whopping $250 for a one hour private lesson with rentals for a private ski lesson, they did not send any information on what time to arrive, what to expect, where to park, where to put belongings etc. It was challenging enough to get my 3-year-old ready to go with snow gear and we arrived 10 minutes early to the lesson to a full parking lot. We parked right outside the doors to get checked in and see what next steps would be. There was no guidance and no one to help us walk us through our first rental as first-time visitors. It was clear given our limited time we needed to reschedule the appointment. With our ski boots on, bags in hand still needing a home, and our car out front still needing to be moved, I asked if we should just push through and extend the lesson, or reschedule. They refused both options. Instead, they took our money without rendering service or providing any contact for management. I voiced my discontent and asked to speak to someone else. After waiting for 15 minutes, still with our ski boots on, a second person arrived to confirm they were taking our money without rendering services, but then provided email contacts at my insistence. We escalated the matter to the general manager and instead of being met with counsel, mediation, or any sense of understanding they accused me of harassment. Since when did asking to speak to manager for lack of service become harassment? It is graceful gaslighting. Not communicating and educating a first-time skier for a private lesson for his child, taking money, not rendering service, and then disrespectfully refusing to provide contact for support and management, while expecting a customer to walk away without a solution is just unbelievable. Two months have passed with no reply. They have lost a long-term generational customer.Written March 18, 2024

- 159catht0 contributionsCon text scamDo not open any cell phone text from Winsport it is a scam. I received a text message and because I knew the company I opened it. I did not fill out any of the details they asked for or click any box. I just opened it and then pressed delete without a second thought. My next cell phone bill was a small extra change and I thought I had run over my data. The next bill had been charge bi-weekly for some kind of gaming app. As I said I DID NOT FILL OUT ANY DETAILS OR TICK ANY BOX. I have no idea where they go my details from I am careful with my info. After complaining to KOODO I did get my money back on my following months bill.Written October 26, 2022
- CanadianMenehune0 contributionsMini golf has lots of stairsWe are a family with mobility issues. After you park in the designated lot you need to walk uphill on the street for quite a ways to get to the mini golf course. There were bikes and cars flying past us. Then once on the course there are many sets of steep stairs you need to go up or down as you play. We had a nice enough time with the golf, but we had to help our son with all the steep stairs which made it not a fun time. We have always played mini golf on a flat course so we were not expecting this.Written June 3, 2021
- JettRao0 contributionsPoor customer service regarding rescheduling due to extreme weather. It was -28C with windchill and Winsport wouldnt allow me to reschedule my snowboarding lesson. I had to forfeit my $250. I'm extremely disappointed as I was really looking forward to my lesson.Written February 5, 2021
- Suzanne F0 contributionshorrible experience being harassed by staff for teaching our kids.Terrible experience harassed for our passes in the parking lot multiple times. Stood waiting for a parent by the washroom and then accused that I was a ski instructor. Again all our ID was checked by security.Written January 3, 2021
- toddlerpants0 contributionsFor sports buffsWe went to have a good look around. There was plenty of parking and it was clear that this facility, which hosted the 1988 Winter Olympics, is in a great state of repair, it almost looked new. You can Ski, Luge, go on the zip-line,mini golf, ski jumps, and cycle to name but a few. All facilities are here including a small gift shop, also selling drinks etc.Written July 26, 2020
- lari19600 contributionsFun Fun FunOur family did the luge twice in our week in Calgary. It was a lot of fun. The cost of two runs for $20 is very reasonable. I highly recommend this activity for anyone travelling with teenagers or older children. The old Olympic site is well maintained and they are doing a great job running this facility during Covid 19. I would definitely do the luge again. The zip line was closed but we will give that a try next year when we return.Written July 14, 2020
- Jack U0 contributionsThe park at Winsport is worth itI often visit the terrain park at Winsport and it is very well maintained, large and has a variety of features at all levels of difficulty. The hill itself is very god for beginner and intermediate skiers and snowboarders. It is not very challenging but is good if you are just learning. There is two chairlifts and several magic carpets, so the lineups are not very long. Overall the ski hill at Winsport is good for beginners, and the terrain park is very good for it being a ski hill not in the mountains.Written April 16, 2020
- LuciaPBali0 contributionsGreat evening with my grandsI’m not a skier but my grands are learning and what a great opportunity to get onto a hill! I saw all ages go through the gates, with lots of big smiles, high fives and huge moments for some! They loved skiing in the dark, the lights on the hill are superb! We will definitely go back!Written March 7, 2020

- YYC_girly0 contributionsFun local ski half-day!Winsport is very accessible with good learning runs and ski/board instruction. Not a lot of hill variety but enough to keep you busy for three hours. Kids love it! Lots of learners so be kind on the hill!Written March 5, 2020
- fancytravelreviews0 contributionsTube ParkWe tried the Tube Park area and really enjoyed it. The tracks are pretty fast and this activity doesn’t require a lot of physical ability, unlike other winter activities. There is a lift at the bottom on the hill, where you just have to stand and keep balanced. The wait time averaged about 5-7 mins at the bottom and then another 5-7 mins at the top. We went on a Saturday and it looked like all of the tubes were being used. There are a few different styles of track, one that is slopped and one style that has a bump in the middle. The people at the top push you down and they can spin you if you’d like. You can also go down with a partner, holding on to each others tubes ... good times. The price is pretty fair for what you get if you take the full 3 hours and it seemed to be pretty well ran and organized. We would recommend this experience.Written February 17, 2020

Me and my boyfriend visited Winsport center last week. When we arrived the elevator for the monster zipline had a mechanical problem, so we couldn’t do it first. While we were waiting for it, we did the skyline luge which was very fun! We did 3 rides of skyline luge and we wanted to do it again and again. Track was long and curves were fun (and not dangerous)!
The monster zipline was worth the wait. The starting point is on the olympic ski jumping building. It is very nice to get to this point (which offers you quite an impressive view)! The monster zipline is long, fast and fun and offers you a great dose of adrenaline. I would absolutely recommend it!
