Excellent viewpoint and walk at the summit
The tram runs regularly through the day. The trip to the top provides some spectacular views of Jasper. We did the walk to the summit which provided some more spectacular views at the top and a nice walk to add to the trip

Great way to see everything from above. Then climb to the very top on your own stean, only way to do it!!

Beautiful views, a bit pricey but hit up the groupon
The views were beautiful and lunch on the mountain is a must or just a drink. Local brews are available. We ate bison chili and bannock. Would walk back up it was so good. The staff was great and answered all the questions we had. Lots of reading once up top about the history of the area and names of all the mountains.

Great views on an old cable car
This was a bit of a treat to travel in an old cable car. The view at the top is stunning but expect a hard walk to the summit. If you can, eat in the restaurant, the views are stunning and the food is great, far better than you would expect at the top of a cable car!

Very cool views and a tough hike
The sky tram was very cool and we even had lunch at the restaurant after our hike. Our tram tour guide was from Australia and very knowledgeable. He gave us information about all the mountains surrounding us as we went up to the top. The hike might look easy, but with the altitude change and the 200 m elevation on the hike, it took us a good hour to get to the top. It does get very windy so packing a windproof jacket would definitely be advisable. The best thing to do is take your time to get to the top and just take a break when you think you need it. Our tram operator told us to drink lots of water and take breaks when we need it, and honestly that did help a lot.

It was the highlight of my Alberta trip!!
It is an underrated trip. We love the whole experience; the Jasper Sky Tram and the hike all the way to the top of the mountain; views are so nice; you can still touch the snow from the winter still.

Great Views but Administration needs Overhaul
Even though we purchased tickets online, selecting our times for flights up and back, to avoid standing in line at the event, When we arrived, we were told the QR machine was not working and we had to stand in line anyway to pick up tickets, almost missing our time slot. Then, during our return on the gondola, twice the amount of people that were in our flight up, were crammed into the sky tram gondola. It was so crowded we could hardly breathe. The staff told us they were doing a safety check and one gondola was out of commission so both groups of people went in our gondola. Not only was it uncomfortable, it was also worrisome and four days later, I tested positive for COVID 19. We were left with the opinion that this attraction was disorganized, inefficient, and taking chances. We would never have traveled in a gondola that was so packed with people, had we been told before we were at the top of the mountain.

    Get Reservations!
Who knew? Definitely be sure to get online reservations if you can or there is the risk that you might have a wait or even be disappointed - fortunately we only had to wait for about 60 minutes. Once boarded, the ride was smooth and definitely worth the money to skip the horrible climb up the mountain.

    Top of the World
The tram provides a wonderful view of Jasper and the surrounding area. We were able to walk up and purchase a ticket without a reservation. A 5-minute wait and we were on our way to the top. We had a beautiful clear day and could see for FOREVER! For those who wish to hike, there are paths to explore in the Alpine terrain here at Whistlers peak. You will find patches of snow throughout the area even at the end of June. Be sure to dress in layers. It is quite windy and chilly at the top. Inside the tram station is the Summit Restaurant. The menu offers a variety of comfort foods or you can gaze at the magnificent view while enjoying your favorite adult beverage. A very relaxing way to wind down from a busy day of hiking. Note: See you can spot Mt Robson 60 miles away!

    Nice views, meh service
The booking and entry into the tram is very efficient, and the views from the top are spectacular (especially if you hike to the summit). Unfortunately, our tram operator (12:39 pm departure on Wednesday July 6th) was a bored Australian who didn't proactively provide us with any information as we went up. There is a lot to see and we paid a good amount of money for tickets, so I would have assumed the tram operator would have filled the 7.5 minutes with interesting information about what can be seen from the tram.

    Lots of fun!
The views from the top are stunning and the hike was a great workout. The tram itself was crowded and made it hard to enjoy the ride.

    Amazing views!
Remember your camera and binoculars! Make sure to show up early for your ticket time. They keep the tram running on a strict schedule so don’t be late. The guides on the tram are informative and were great at answering questions.

    Peak activity in Jasper!
Even if this is a little pricey, the views and being able to say that you climbed a mountain make it all worthwhile. If you book on a clear day, you're golden!

    Great views and people
Courteous staff and a very smooth ride to the upper station made this a great outing. We experienced several seasons in a couple of hours beginning with an overcast day that turned to a whiteout at the top and then the sky’s cleared for great views.

We took an early morning trip up the tram. It was very safe. We chose to hike to the summit (fantastic) and by the time we got back to the tram it was very busy. You are forced to wait inside a small enclosed space with no formal line up. This makes it very challenging to social distance and a number of other visitors were not wearing masks properly (noses or mouths uncovered). This was not a safe environment and had I known this is the case I would not have taken the risk. Visitors should line up outside and people need to be able to socially distance when in line. Staff should encourage proper mask wearing.

We are sorry you encountered guests wearing their masks improperly at the upper station. Per our current policy, masks must be worn in areas where physical distancing of 2m cannot be achieved. This is enforced through staff and signage. Your feedback has been discussed among the team and we thank you for the reminder to watch closely for situations where additional reinforcement may be required.

We booked our time up a couple hours in advance, you are able to cancel your time and get a refund if it's an hour before your scheduled time to go up. Unfortunately 45 minutes before our time the smoke rolled in and the wind picked up. They still had us go up at our time but it was so windy that it took easily double the amount of time of what it should. They cram the tram full of people there must have been at least 20 of us in there and it was not a great ride going up with that many people so slowly. We hiked around on Whistlers Mountain for about an hour but it was so smokey that we had very little view and the wind was so intense that dirt was blowing in our face so we decided to head back down. Upon returning back to the gondola we were told that the wind was so high that it was not running at this time and we would just have to wait things out. A couple groups got down and then it shut down again and in total we had to wait probably about 2 hours past our scheduled time to get back down.

There is a restaurant there but it stopped serving food while we were waiting because it was past the time they were supposed to be open. We were able to get an order of fries right before they stopped serving food.

The hike itself is on uneven ground with a lot of loose shale rock so not easy for somebody who has mobility issues. I can't comment on how the view would be from the top of the gondola without hiking because it was so smoked in it was really hard to tell but I'm sure that the view there would be still very good without even doing the hike. I could tell through the smoke that it would have been spectacular had it have been a clear day but unfortunately that just didn't happen on the day we were there. It's too bad that they don't offer you a refund if you haven't gone up yet because under conditions like that spending close to $200 for our family of four to have views of smoke and be stranded at the top because of the winds that they knew were getting high even before we went up is very disappointing.

We brought it dog along as well, they charge $9 for a dog. There were many dogs up there.

I would like to do this again with better weather conditions just wish that you didn't have to book in advance because of how busy it is but I guess that's how it is in the summer months. They really need a better refund policy if the weather changes bad before you've gone up.

Staff at venue very friendly and generally efficient. The views are, of course, spectacular. My concerns deal with Covid 19 measures, which need some major improvement. Although the tram is wiped down with disinfectant spray after each journey, it is done so hastily that it is not a thorough job. 12 people to a tram while ascending and up to 15 descending was still too cramped for any proper distancing. The worst, however, is the complete lack of spacing when lining up to descend. The waiting area is far too small and we all felt very exposed. The other important point is that the venue is challenging for anyone in a wheelchair. The ramp to the check in point is very steep and one should get permission to drive a vehicle up rather than attempting to push someone up the ramp. The upper restaurant has no wheelchair accessibility and even the supposedly wheelchair accsesible boardwalk has a number of major dips that make wheelchair movement a challenge.

Booked our tickets the night before, which I highly recommend. A few families showed up while we were waiting for our turn wanting to buy tickets but everything was sold out. About a 5-10 minute drive from the town of Jasper. Nice gift shop with plenty of souvenirs. Staff is friendly and knowledgable. You board the gondola to go up the mountain at your reserved time. When they let you off you can take your time, as long as you're on the last gondola of the day. About 7500 ft high with the most amazing views of the Jasper valley! From the point of drop off to the summit of Whilsters Mountain is about a 1 km hike (could be 2, I'm not 100% sure). Path is well maintained and outlined with rocks. IMO the price is a little steep, however this is another experience my family and I will never forget.

Having really enjoyed the Banff Gondola experience, we thought we'd try this one too. It was a bit disappointing for a number of reasons. The Skytram is old and they cram people in. It was an uncomfortable time being nudged and shoved by people with rucksacks, twisting and turning to see the views.

At the top we went for a walk and that was pleasant enough but as it started to get a bit too slippery on the ice and temperatures dropped, we decided to head back. The cafe was not open but they were serving basic hot drinks at top prices. Having to wait for your time allocation is the only way to do this but it was a waste of time as well as money doing this attaction, it really didn't do anything for me.

A Must-do in activity for anyone visiting Jasper. I took 3 teenagers and they loved seeing the town, the rivers and lakes we had visited. It was a great view of the entire area. You can just go up the Tram to view the scenery at the top or if you have the time and energy, you can easily walk up to higher ground - if this is your thing. You are above the tree line so every step of the way is a great view.

The staff were so enthusiastic - you could tell they loved working their job and sharing the magic of the mountains.

The Jasper Sky Tram (not a gondola) is a great way to get incredible views of the Jasper area BUT only on a relatively clear day. On cloudy / overcast days, there is very little to see of the valley below once you are up top. The staff did warn me about the poor conditions prior to me purchasing a ticket. I went up both during an overcast day and a partly cloudy day (to get different photos).
Once at the top, there are viewing platforms easily accessible by anyone. For those who want to go a bit further, there's a hike which leads all the way up the mountain. The lower portion of the hike is doable by families with children, but as you progress up, there are harder portions (you can easily turn back once you reach the limit of your abilities).

Plan to spend a minimum of 30 minutes at the top + additional time for any extra hiking.

The price is a little bit steep, especially for a large family. At the time of this review, locals can get 30% off, AMA and youth hostel can get 15% off.

Despite being afraid of heights, I felt very safe in the gondola, which runs extremely smoothly from bottom to top for 7 minutes.

There is a bit of a hike uphill once you get to the top of the ride in order to reach the top of Whitslers, but it's definitely worth the effort - make sure you bring good walking shoes and water. The view of the mountains all around is breathtaking.

We had a fantastic time at the Jasper SkyTram! The views are astonishing and I love the amount of history this small day trip can pump out. The staff were all personable, knowledgeable, and looked like they enjoyed working there. On the ride up to the top of the mountain, our guide pointed out the several peaks, lakes, and other areas of interest with ease and enthusiasm. The gift shop at the top of the mountain is probably the most reasonably priced in Jasper (although you have to pay for a lift ticket, of course). We didn't have an opportunity to dine here but the views were all we needed. Lastly, I'd like to commend our guide on our way down, Tayah, for being so kind and easy to talk to! If you haven't yet, take the ten(ish) minute drive from downtown and enjoy this excursion!

Glide up to several thousand feet to the side of The Whistler's mountain summit in Jasper National Park using Canada's highest and longest guided aerial tramway. The experience will let you view stunning mountain ranges, beautiful lakes and river and the town of Jasper itself. As an added bonus, once you reach the station on top you can amble on the boardwalk and/or hike the trail to the very top of the mountain. You can also stop at the summit restaurant and grab a meal while you enjoy the stunning panorama around you. I recommend planning your trip on a clear sunny day to make the most of the experience.
