Overview
Experience a side of Maligne Canyon rarely available to visitors on an ice walk through caverns, cliffs, and frozen waterfalls. Visit secluded locations nearly impossible to access without a guide, hearing about ancient fossils and the natural formations around you. All gear and round-trip transportation from your Jasper accommodation are included, making for a seamless, safe adventure.
What to Expect
The tour starts with a pickup from your centrally located Jasper hotel. After being outfitted in proper safety and ice-walking gear, relax in a comfortable minibus and let your guide navigate to Maligne Canyon for you.

On arrival, begin the trek through the canyon at an easy pace. Exploring with a guide ensures you avoid the stress of reading maps and plotting routes on your own.

While you explore secluded caverns and frozen waterfalls, your guide points out ancient fossils and provides an overview of the canyon's history and ancient geology.

At the end of the ice walk, climb back into the warmth of the minibus. The tour ends with drop-off back at your Jasper accommodation.

Excellent experience

An excellent experience. Well taken care of. Guide (Kelly) was outstanding. Attentive, adaptable, and informative. Even though entire canyon not yet frozen she modified and ensured a great outing. Highly recommended.

Great ice walk

Carly, our guide from Maligne Adventures was great. She was very knowledgeable and showed us where to walk and gave us a hand when needed. I would not do the walk without a guide.

Call the operator directly but I do not think so as I believe our guide said that the tour only runs until the beginning of April as after that the canyon becomes inaccessible due to melting ice.
