The South Okanagan and Similkameen is an outstanding birding location and is home to over 250 different species in a variety of habitats. Some of these species are found nowhere else in Canada.
The region is ideally located to take advantage of a mix of northern boreal and mountain species, while being the only part of Canada with a southern Great Basin fauna in its dry valleys.
We specialize in guiding individuals and small groups, providing custom birding and wildlife tours to help you discover the wild side of the Okanagan. Whether you enjoy walking/hiking while birding or driving and seeing as many species as possible we can arrange a great day in the field just for you.

We are not bird expert and only starting to get out and make some observation, so a full day seemed long for us. Not being from BC, we wanted to see birds that we don’t see in Québec. It was not the perfect warm and sunny day, but Eric knows the region and we made nice encounter. Eric is the perfect guide, even talking to us in French, giving us nice information about the birds, the regions, and the nature of the area. At the end we had a very nice surprise. He is extremely knowledgeable about birds: identification by sound and sight, and their habitat. I was delighted with my photos. We used two vehicles and walkie talkies between stops - a nice touch. He knows where to take his clients and personalized the tour so I could see the birds that were most important to me. He was flexible and even let me bring my dog that I was traveling with. - O1411DUdough0 contributionsA memorable day of birdingWe had a great day of birding with Eric! He is such a knowledgeable guide and gave us a grand tour of the top birding spots near Penticton. Although we had some rain and thundershowers we were able to see/hear over 80 species on our day. The Yellow-breasted Chat at our last stop was a highlight for the group. Eric took us to a spot where this elusive bird might be seen and sure enough we managed to spot it perched among the foliage, a tiny yellow dot in among the greenery. It stayed perched out in the open long enough for us to get several good pictures.Written June 20, 2020

Our guide Eric was very knowledgeable of all the birds in the area not just visually but could identify them by their sounds as well. He catered our tour to suit our needs after inquiring as to what we were hoping to see. We visited a variety of habitats. Scenery was spectacular and Eric was a real pleasure to be with. He was kind enough email us a list of the 35 species we saw today. We’d highly recommend taking a tour.

Eric was a very knowledgeable guide for our first ever birdwatching tour! We saw lots of local and migratory birds.
