Good value half day hire, good bikes, hassle-free process.
Super easy to rent a bike for me, my wife and 10yo son. It’s a great way to get around Vancouver and the person hiring the bikes gave us some good options to visit for our half day hire. Once the paperwork was finished, the three bikes were already outside ready to go. Really good quality bikes and really good easy to use locks.

A must to see the city sites and learn about the history
Very informative and fun. Our tour guide Greg had excellent knowledge of the city and its sites making it fun and interesting. Great introduction to Vancouvers attractions and history…. From Stanley Park, to the bald headed eagle nest, to the indigenous background and mini Golden Gate Bridge. Greg’s stories and positive attitude made it entertaining for all ages, even our 16 year old daughter really enjoyed the tour. Highly recommend!

      Epic ride around Vancouver!
Chris was a great tour guide! We highly recommend the Epic tour. Great ride through Stanley Park. I was surprised by how much of the rest of the city we were able to see by bike. The E-bikes made for easy peddling and not getting too tired. Chris gave some much appreciated information about the city as we stopped at prime locations. Thanks for a great day!

      Organic Experience
Epic bike city tour with Cycle City. My friends and I loved every min of it. Just a different and great way to take in the sights and sounds of a new city while cycling through it on a sunny day. The experience hits different and I felt how a resident would feel and just much more organic than a regular guided tour.

Super helpful staff. Ordered online beforehand and my bike was ready to go. Useful and clear map. Also stored my bags for a small additional fee. Great experience all round and a super way to see the sights of Vancouver.

Yes. Do this bike tour and ask for Frank.
As older pro cyclists we were understandably cautious about our first bicycle city tour. Staff was all pro, very experienced, and we had confidence from the start. Frank was a fantastic local authority with patience and professionalism. Thank you, Frank.

      Nice ride through the park
My husband was unwell for one day of our stay so I decided last minute to join this tour of Stanley Park. The staff were very accommodating and I was quickly suited up and ready to ride. I was fitted with a Norco step through which was very much a cruiser bike. It was fine for the flat parts of the seawall but with any kind of hill the first gear is just not low enough. Renting an ebike is likely the best option unless you are young and in pretty good shape. There were a couple late comers so our ride did not start on time but the people were nice and very soon we were on our way with Chris. First stop was Canada Place and Chris shared some interring history in the area. Next we headed on the trail to the sea wall and a stop at the totem poles. Interesting to see and hear about the meaning behind the different carvings. Before long we headed inland to explore some of the trails within the park. It is a beautiful park and hard to believe you are in the middle of the city. We then finished our ride at the bridge to Granville island and an escort back to the bike shop. I thought the ride was nice enough but wouldn’t have considered it exceptional. It definitely wasn’t the 3 hours that it is advertised as. I also would have liked more time in Stanley Park riding the seawall or the park trails. Overall if you want to learn about the history and other interesting facts about the area the tour is a good way to get you out and about.

You won't go wrong with Cycle City!
Loved seeing Stanley Park with our guide Mariel! So glad that we decided to book this tour because she took us to areas we would never have gone to on our own. She is very knowledgeable about the area. The ride was fairly easy with lots of stops for photos and information. The bikes are good quality and Cycle City is a great company to work with. We enjoyed them so much that we went back a few days later and rented a tandem to go back to Stanley Park and explore more of downtown.

      Birthday ride with German
What an awesome way to spend my birthday! This bike tour was fantastic and a wonderful way to see portions of the downtown area/waterfront and beautiful Stanley Park. German was our guide and he was outstanding. He was friendly, knowledgeable and great with the group. I got a big chuckle out of the special bike decorations in honor of my birthday. Birthday or no birthday, I'd highly recommend this fantastic and fun tour!

I can't say enough good things about this bike tour. It was a highlight of my husband's and mine's trip. It was December and raining the entire five hours, but our tour guide (Nick) was patient, interesting, and fun. It was my Husband's birthday and we are a big believer in the idea that the tour guide makes or breaks the tour, and Nick really made it. The tour itself went to many different areas of the city and our tour guide stopped a lot to talk about the area, asked if we had questions, and answered them all. We really enjoyed all the new information we learned. We aren't in shape, but Nick made sure to go at a pace that we could keep up with, so if I can do this tour, literately anyone can. I would 100% go back and do another bike tour with them. Lastly, once we got back, soaking wet, Nick spent extra time with us recommending all types of things from activities to food in and around Vancouver. Then he sent us this awesome email with even more recommendations. If you chose this tour, you will not regret it.

Myself and my husband joined the Grand Tour yesterday, on our first full day in the city. It was such a great way to see so much of the city from Downtown, to Stanley Park, Granville Island, Olympic Village, Chinatown, Gastown and plenty of other stops in between. We had an absolutely fantastic tour guide in Paulo, his knowledge and enthusiasm for his city was remarkable and we learnt so much in the 5 hour tour. He also had brilliant recommendations for other things to do around the city and indeed further afield. Bikes were great, I had a regular one and my husband upgraded to an ebike which he loved being a little apprehensive about 5 hours on a bike. There were plenty of stops though and felt very relaxed throughout the day. We discovered the tour by accident only that morning and we were so glad we did, would highly recommend it to anyone.

My son and I had so much fun cruising through Stanely Park, Granville Island, Olympic Village/Yale town, and beautiful beaches on dedicated bike lanes. I felt safe and comfortable following Greg's guidance. It didn't feel a 5-hour long tour because of Greg's humorous & interesting stories about Vancouver at each quick stop. I learned a lot about Vancouver even though I live here. I also loved riding an E-bike which made it much easier to ride up hills and bike long distances (I have not biked for 15+ years). I am glad I did this tour. I highly recommend this tour to any residents or visitors.

The Good: Our tour guide, Chris, was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the area. You could tell he loved the city and wanted people to enjoy it as well. He did a great job of not going too fast or too slow while biking and the route we covered allowed us to see a fantastic selection of the city including Stanley Park, the waterfront, Granville Island, False Creek, and Gas Town. He also emailed us after the tour with more detailed information on the area and suggestions for restaurants and shopping.

The Bad: Midway through the tour is lunch at Granville Island Market. I was really looking forward to this but when we arrived, we were allocated 20 minutes to eat and explore. This was barely enough time to stand in line for food and certainly not sufficient to eat said food or see anything of the market besides where you stood in line. According to the tour description, we were also supposed to visit the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Chinese Garden. This was completely skipped on our tour. I feel like there could have been better time management on the various other stops in order to allocate more time at the market and to ensure a stop at the garden.

The size of our group and traffic flow felt off on this tour. Our group, totaling 11, could not make it through many intersections as a group. Riders felt pressured to run yellow and red lights to stay with the group. Our tour was on a weekend, and I must imagine the traffic would be worse on a weekday. Additionally, our guide did not have the group to practice good etiquette in sharing public spaces. At several stops, our group impeded pedestrian traffic and while riding we did not yield for pedestrian crossings as required.

The Unacceptable: During the tour, our group rode (not walked) our bikes on a path specifically marked as “No Bicycles Permitted Environmentally Sensitive Area”. We were berated by numerous other visitors along the trail, sworn at, and overall corrected that we shouldn’t be there. Our guide admitted to at least 1 of the visitors correcting our behavior that we were in the wrong and said that he has wondered why he takes bikes along this route! We were causing unnecessary damage to a delicate area. It was at this moment that I most regretted my decision to join this tour and set my mind to never use or recommend them in the future.

Paolo led our group of 10 on this city wide tour of Vancouver. My wife and I did it on our first morning in Vancouver and it was the perfect time for it. The city overview was very helpful in terms of helping us plan our next couple of days in town.

I am 70 and my wife is 68 and it was an easy ride. We are both long time bikers who now do it on weekends. The ride covers 24KM or about 16 miles over 5 hours. It is perfect for experienced bikers or even once a month or casual bikers. The terrain is not hilly and, honestly, is mostly downhill or flat.

Paolo knows Vancouver and is a treasure trove of up to date info about the city as well as historical trivia that seasons the trip and keeps it interesting. He clearly enjoys his job and the people under his charge. The trip includes an hour of downtime at the Granville Market own your own to explore the food and gift opportunities. We found this to be a highlight. Lunch is on you.

Paolo was sensitive to the different biking skill levels of our group. Our group's age range went from about a 12 yr old young girl to us.

This tour is about getting acquainted with Vancouver. It is a leisurely ride not a heavy breathing, heart rate pegging stress test. If you are wondering if you can do it the answer is yes, no problem. If you are wondering if you need an electric bike (which are available) the answer is definitely not unless you are just interested in getting a feel for how electrics work.

I give Paolo and Cycle City Tours 5 stars.

PS: The questions about being sanitized below are irrelevant. You are riding a bike, outdoors. You will be touching handlebar grips and be around your group as well as in a market at one point. Being smart about this according to your own sensitivity about Covid transmission applies.

Must do activity. I took my two children 17 and 12 while we were with my husband in Vancouver on business. We learned so much of the history from Paulo, he was super informative, he knew a lot of the city. So much that evening I was sharing my new found knowledge with friends who live in the core of Vancouver and they didn’t know half of what I learned. This was a 5 hour tour, definitely wouldn’t recommend for older folks who may not be in the best of shape or those who struggle with any anxieties there is a schedule that needs to me met so the pace was a bit quicker then even I would have liked but totally understand the reasoning, don’t forget to bring water they accommodate you with a basket or a bag on the bike, helmet also provided. I would come back again and would request Paulo he truly is that good at his job, you can tell he enjoys what he does and it is wonderful.

We had a fantastic tour and would definitely recommend this experience to other visitors. Our guide, Greg, was extremely knowledgeable and I felt very safe riding around the city with him. The bikes were in excellent condition. I just wish we had experienced the tour on the first day of our trip as opposed to our last, as there were many places that we had missed (pointed out by Greg) that we didn’t have time to go back to. Well worth the money and you don’t need to be particularly fit to participate, as there were plenty of stops to catch your breath and take photos.

Amazing introduction to Vancouver with a knowledgeable, passionate local. Although it's 5-6hrs of biking there are plenty of stops so should be doable for anyone comfortable riding a city bike. Highly recommend Paulo who was engaging about the history of Vancouver, knew all kinds of fun facts, and kept the group upbeat.

My wife and I wanted to see the main sites and attractions of central Vancouver in half a day and this five hour cycle tour led by our knowledgable and local resident guide, Bob, met our needs perfectly. The group of nine guests with varying ages (10 -70+) and varying fitness levels gelled well under Bob’s encouraging guidance as we cycled our way around the dedicated cycle lanes of the city. This really was a great way to see the main sites: Canada Place, Stanley Park including the totem poles, English Bay, Granville Island with a stop for lunch, False Bay, Chinatown, Gastown. The pace was gentle with lots of stops for Bob to explain the history, heritage and challenges facing Vancouver. The bikes were modern, and well maintained and equipped. The route felt safe, largely on dedicated cycle paths with only a very few stretches with vehicles sharing the road. There were very few hills, up or down, and it really was a leisurely tour. I strongly recommend this trip if you have ever ridden a bike, are in Vancouver with a day spare and an appetite to explore the city, geographically and historically. And if you get Bob as your guide, that will be a real bonus!

We were in Canada for 2 weeks and stopped off in Vancouver for 2 days. The tour was a brilliant way to get to know Vancouver, and German’s tour went through all of Vancouver - even the less ‘touristy’ spots, which were brilliant to see.

German was very interesting, insightful and always helped us along the trip. He always made sure we felt very safe, both when cycling, and in the areas around us when we were cycling. The stopping points were very photogenic and the photos which he took were beautiful! He gave us a very good amount of time for refreshments and breaks, without either making the tour seem too broken up, or making it seem too rushed. He took us to a brilliant food market to get lunch, which was cheap and very nice! Thank you so much to German for a brilliant tour, and memories which I will treasure for ever more.

I 100% recommend this tour (and hopefully German’s lead and assistance :) to anyone who wishes to get to know Vancouver in a
