- mollym5730 contributionsExceptional tour! This was one of the best tours I have ever taken. Cycling is really the perfect way to experience Vancouver. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our guide Greg was outstanding! His knowledge of Vancouver and its history really made the tour special. I highly recommend this tour!Written January 20, 2025
- L2094WLaaronl0 contributionsGood value half day hire, good bikes, hassle-free process.Super easy to rent a bike for me, my wife and 10yo son. It’s a great way to get around Vancouver and the person hiring the bikes gave us some good options to visit for our half day hire. Once the paperwork was finished, the three bikes were already outside ready to go. Really good quality bikes and really good easy to use locks.Written January 11, 2025
- kilabane0 contributionsGreat bike tour in VancouverWe had the greatest bicycle tour with our guide Nick. He was very friendly, and told us a lot about Vancouver on our trip around the city. There were a lot of stops on the way, and Nick had stories about both the ancient settlements and the future development of the city. How he managed to arrange 2 eagles to fly by us, while we had a stop near the harbor, and have the sun shinning all day, I don’t know, but it just made the trip even better. Thank you very much Nick for the best 5 hours (+ a little bit more because off all our questions) on a bicycle.Written January 9, 2025
- 245gregw0 contributionsChris at City Cycles is FantasticCan't recommend this city tour highly enough. Our guide, Chris was first class. Helpful, knowledgeable & patient, all the things you'd expect from a guide. We opted for the EBikes and we'll definitely be buying a couple for ourselves after this experience. One of the best city bike tours we've done!Written December 12, 2024
- lynnsP2406RZ0 contributionsGreat journey around VancouverWhat a great journey around the highlights of Vancouver ! Chris was awesome sharing his insights into Stanley Park, the harbor front, neighborhoods, Olympic Park and a break for lunch at Granville Island Public Market. My husband and I chose ebikes which made the tour easier and we appreciated the rain ponchos. The tour allowed us to explore and see more of Vancouver than we could have imagined on our own. Definitely recommend the cycle tour !Written November 12, 2024

- mickimicki0 contributionsGreat Bike Tour of Vancouver - Do it!!!Had an amazing Grand Tour with German! It turned out to be a gloriously sunny day amidst a lot of rainy days, and had a wonderful experience bicycling around the city of Vancouver. Really loved all of Stanley Park, especially walking the bicycles into the park and taking some trails within the park to see some beautiful old growth tree's (1,000 years old!). The pace was good, not too fast, but not too slow, once our group wrapped any questions, we hopped back on and went on to the next stop. German was a top notch guide, he explained where we were going, what the history/backstory/etc. was of each stop and answered all of our questions with knowledge and thoughtfulness. I'd highly recommend him as a guide.Written October 21, 2024

- mitvanko0 contributionsEpic ride around Vancouver!Chris was a great tour guide! We highly recommend the Epic tour. Great ride through Stanley Park. I was surprised by how much of the rest of the city we were able to see by bike. The E-bikes made for easy peddling and not getting too tired. Chris gave some much appreciated information about the city as we stopped at prime locations. Thanks for a great day!Written October 20, 2024

- jerryaT8788ME0 contributionsOrganic ExperienceEpic bike city tour with Cycle City. My friends and I loved every min of it. Just a different and great way to take in the sights and sounds of a new city while cycling through it on a sunny day. The experience hits different and I felt how a resident would feel and just much more organic than a regular guided tour.Written October 16, 2024
- simonpL2339UA0 contributionsBetter than the photosBetter than the photos - a great way to experience different parts of Vancouver with a great guide. - adiemer0 contributionsFantastic tour - even in the rain!Highlyyyyy recommend this tour - rain or shine! (We were in the rain and it was still a blast.) We learned so much about Vancouver specifically and Canada in general. It was so beautiful - especially the parts in Stanley Park. Greg was our tour guide and he has endless wisdom!!!! We left with food, book, And music recommendations, as well as knowledge about the history of Vancouver. We’d particularly recommend this tour for your first few days in Vancouver because it helps orient you to the city really well.Written October 14, 2024
- jonathanbB8547CY0 contributionsBest way to learn YVRBest recommendation for visiting YVR. Book “The Grand Tour” cycle tour with Cycle City to blow out the cobwebs and get your bearings in this wonderful City before you do much else. German was a most excellent, informative and patient guide. Wish we had done this tour on Day 1 and not our second last day. Bikes were well maintained and cycling was very easy. We covered so much on our 5 and a bit hours and feel we know Vancouver so much better now. Helped that we had a great group as well. Thanks German and Cycle CityWritten October 13, 2024

Absolutely fantastic time with Greg around Stanley Park. He was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and very friendly. It was nice to hear about Vancouver from a local who lives there. He took time to focus on the information that was more relevant to our interests. It probably helped that it was only my partner and I on the tour. We lucked out with the weather and got some spectacular photos. Would definitely recommend it over the bus tour as you avoid the traffic and get a more intimate view of the city. The cycle lanes in the downtown area make the experience safe and very enjoyable. Probably one of the best tours I’ve ever been on anywhere!

This was the first thing we did in Vancouver, and a great way to get to know the city and explore the beautiful sea wall and Stanley Park with our kids aged 8 and 11. The recommended minimum age of 10 is about right, although both our kids are experienced cyclists (unlike their parents who haven’t ridden a bike for 30 years!)
Our brilliant guide Lana made sure we were all safe and had no trouble keeping up with the city’s well laid out cycle routes and frequent stops to take in landmarks, art and nature, all accompanied by her knowledgable, entertaining and at times tragic explanations, delivered in an age appropriate way for the children.
With baskets on the bikes for water, bags, cameras etc and her exceptional knowledge of Vancouver’s history, we highly recommend this for a family with older children or couples, groups or on your own. Everyone was friendly and enjoyed the tour. Amazingly we covered 10K and came back to several spots later in our trip (Stanley Park open air pool was great, as was Cardero’s for lunch on the sea wall). The rain forest in Stanley Park was stunning, and somewhere we might otherwise have missed.

We had the best time on this tour and lucked out with the best weather. Lana our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and thoughtful of all the riders in our group. It was a great way to experience parts of this beautiful city and Stanley Park and learn much about the history in the area. Our group was large, maxed out at 12, which included four kids, two of which were ours (12 and 15) and they were able to keep up with the adults with no problem. Lots of stops and opportunities to take pictures. If you are at all a novice rider or struggle with hills, would recommend the upgrade to an e-bike as there are a couple of small hills where having the e-bike will come in handy. However, the pace is slow/moderate and the tour guide makes sure everyone can get through regardless so no need to worry. A very fun activity for the whole family and so glad we did it.

Greg was out tour guide for the ride; he was very knowledgeable and articulate and had a ton of information to provide! He was also very patient and answered all of our questions as best he could and made for an entertaining and pleasant ride throughout. I highly recommend Cycle city tours; the bikes were great and the route very fun!
In addition Greg provides a detailed list of must do and see activities in the city with a local’s touch. We’d repeat this activity in the future!

A fantastic experience and the perfect way to see Stanley Park! I highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting Vancouver for the first time or even if you are already a Vancouver expert!
The bikes are great quality and the pace of the tour is enjoyable for any age.
My guide for the tour was Clement, who was outstanding! I have participated on many bike tours all around the world and trust me when I say that Clement was a top tier tour guide. He was knowledgeable, approachable, responsible and kept the tour engaging the entire time.
Clement made sure that the group stayed together and did an excellent job explaining where we were headed next / what to expect / etc. He knew all the fun facts about not only Stanley Park but the city of Vancouver in general.
Vancouver makes it easy for bikers with 99% of the tour being on designated bike paths/lanes.
I look forward to visiting Vancouver again soon and participating on Cycle City's other experience, The Grand Tour which lets you see even more of the city. They also offer bike rentals for a few hours or multiple days, if you prefer a more 'self-guided' experience.

This is NOT a leisurely paced tour, and when bike accidents occur there is no one to help you.
The pace of the tour is too fast, and weaker cyclists are left far behind. There were 18 people on this tour with only one lead guide. The guide is on an electric bike, while everyone else is pedaling, and she allowed the strongest bike riders to set the pace. There is no one in the back of the pack to help when a bike crashes or breaks down.
My husband stayed with our son towards the back of the pack. There were other people, including an older lady, who could not keep up with the pace of the tour guide. Catastrophe happened when a large moving truck cut off the older woman and our son, causing them to skid and stop suddenly. My husband shielded them with his bike, but due to the speed of how fast things happened, he crashed headfirst into our son's bike. The only reason he did not get a serious eye or head injury was because he was wearing glasses and a helmet.
Long story short - the tour guide had no idea what was going on. My husband was lying in the center of the road, being helped by passers-by for over 20 minutes before the tour guide came looking for him. She poorly bandaged his eye (see picture) and because my son's bike was damaged in the crash she gave him her electric bike. He is 16 years old and has never ridden an electric bike before. Within 15 minutes, he crashed again but was OK. Just anxious because he didn't know how to ride the electric bike.
This tour needs to reevaluate its safety guidelines, tour capacity guidelines, and need to have guide supervision at the front and back of the tour. They need better first aid training. They need better emergency response procedures. They also need to review their customer service skills. When my husband and son finally got back to the bike shop, not one single employee asked him how he was. Complete and utter lack of safety and emergency response on the part of Cycle City Tours.

The views were amazing. Though we took lots of photos, we were also very present in riding bikes. The experience level differences with riders was a challenge at times… it was clear there were some beginners and they were not prepared for riding/ sizing. I would recommend staff confirm rider skills capacity and proper bike sizing before disembarking. I am an experienced cyclist and I was very keen on getting my groups cycles appropriately sized/ adjusted for them before we took off. This was not the case for other tour attendees. Our tour guide, Astrid was so pleasant and knowledgeable and really made our tour a joyful experience. She shared her love of nature of Vancouver while being mindful of rider safety and navigating us safely through the bustling city. The weather was beautiful and the bikes came with a ~ 2Liter bag for holding personal affects ( ie a hat/ light jacket/ phone) and a water bottle holder. Cycle city provided helmets though we brought our own helmets… they have a full bike shop attached so you can get most bike related necessities there. I would do another tour with them.

We were visiting Vancouver for a short time so had to make the most of it and felt a Bike Tour would be the best use of our time and a great way to start the vacation so we reached out to Cycle City and booked ourselves a Stanely park tour.
Bottom line, we loved it. We are a family of 4 with an 11 and a 6 year old who are not easy to please, but we all had such a wonderful time and didn't know where the time flew.
Paulo was our guide and he was amazing! Extremely knowledgeable and was open to answering any questions we had, learnt a tremendous amount about Vancouver from him, history, economy, politics, culture, etc. Most of all we connected with him instantly which made our tour even more enjoyable.
Definitely recommend Cycle City and Paulo.

The bike tour was very well planned and the guide was incredible! Very knowledgable and super fun. Incredible views around the city!!
I think that the biggest issue is that you couldn't hear him very well. My suggestion is to have, if possible, some kind of mic because having someone telling you about the city should be half the experience and without that, it seems like a very pricey tour.

1) Whether the cycling tour would start from the shop at Hornby Street ?
2) Whether we can have the route of the cycling path?
Written July 10, 2022
On their site it says masks strongly encouraged, does that mean inside the shop or while riding the bikes outdoors?
Written May 31, 2022
No masks riding the bike. Full nature, no problem, fresh air.
Masks in shop depends on the regulations in Vancouver
