Beautiful park besides the animal cruelty
Jan Arden is right, it’s time , to let the horses free and bring in an alternative rides ( scooters, tricycles,) we don’t live in the 1900’s anymore ,slavery is over, so should the medevil practices should stop as well.

      Horses are exploited
It’s outdated and disgusting the fact that this still exists. Horses are exhausted and clearly exploited, no one cares about their welfare: tourists nor the company. Explore the place by bike or bus, it is going to be wonderful and with no exploitation.

      Evening in Victoria
Driver was very informative. Made the ride enjoyable. It was a cool evening but we didn't mind it. Would do it again.

      Lovely and Informative
I’m a local but I really enjoyed this tour, the kids and I learned a lot from the live narration. Great way to spend an hour, relaxing, and unplugged. Recommend bringing snacks and to dress more warmly because of the ocean breeze (blankets are provided).

A gentle way to spend an hour
Quite enjoyable and relaxing with a good guide and commentary although I think it was quite expensive for what it is.

      A nice treat
This was a lovely lazy way to see the park, I just wish we had done it before we had walked all the way around as it covered alot we had already seen & read, but that was our mistake.

Gentle ride round the main sights of Stanley Park
This attraction is one not to be missed whilst in Vancouver. It's not the easiest of places to find from the bus, which is the easiest form arrival methods. Just head downhill keeping the aquarium on you left side. A well run set up but one which made you feel a personal service. good commentary and a chance to get off at the totem poles. Highly recomment this trip.

      Get way to take pictures!
The Horse Grit and Tony were hilarious, even they have attitude. The ride stops for 5 mintues at the totem poles. Which is nice and the ride is an hour long. Great for photos due to its a slow ride.

Good way to see Stanley Park
Price: $40 each Service: Very good. The lady was very nice and sweet. Seemed interested in their job but she needed a new headset because it kept breaking up. Atmosphere: Very kitschy and touristy Comfortability of chairs: You're sitting on a wooden bench for an hour

      Very informative tour
My brother and I were very impressed with this tour. We learned a great deal- so many interesting facts to be learned for anyone who takes this tour. Next time we join the tour, will be with my fiancee!

      Staff 👎🏻
The tour a great and amazing idea but be aware that the staff in the ticket booth can be ignorant and not helpful at all. After boarding the carriage as directed by them we were told to get off as our ticket which we had showed them when boarding, had to be exchanged for another. From pointing out how it was our fault after they had told us to board to mumbling about attitude. My suggestion to the young lady on the counter is she find a line of work better suited to her temperament. Interaction with the public and problem solving are not her strong suit.

      Very informative
A party of 5 including 2 children (6 &8) and we all really enjoyed the tour. It was very informative and we all found ourselves saying "I didn't know that" throughout the tour. It covered all of the tourist "must do" stops on our planned list which saved us a ton of time trying to navigate to all of them individually. The snack shop that is located at the ticket booth is insanely overpriced ($3 per water) so pack your own if u want something prior to the tour. The tour itself was quite pricey. Check online for coupons prior!

Despite the rain, our visit to Stanley Park was a treat, thanks to the one-hour guided tour with the horse-drawn carriage. With a roof overhead and cozy blankets, we stayed warm and dry the whole time.

Our guide was fantastic – full of insights about the park and Vancouver’s history, and the horses’ story added an extra charm to the experience. We stopped at the Totem poles, with time to get off for photos, which was a nice touch.

At $60 per person, it felt like good value for a unique, informative, and scenic tour. By the time we wrapped up, the rain had cleared, making it a lovely way to explore Stanley Park’s western end. Highly recommend, especially if you’re looking for something relaxed and memorable.

So glad we did this as the horse-drawn carriage was one of the highlights of our time in Vancouver! Bear in mind you can only be booked onto the next tour running, rather than choosing one that’s two or three hours later. Staff were friendly and seemed to care a lot about the horses, sharing useful information about them during the ride. The horses were encouraged to go at their own pace and stopped for a couple of short rest breaks. It was a great way to see various areas of Stanley Park as there was far too much for my husband and I to explore on foot! The guide was chatty and gave lots of good narration about what we were seeing and some history. Although the experience seemed a little pricey, you’re paying for transport, commentary and an attraction all in one, so taking this into account, it’s worthwhile to pay this as a one-off experience. We enjoyed lovely scenery and a fairly comfortable ride!

This was a fun way to see Stanley Park as the park is so huge it really helped us to see as much as possible. It was informative and fun and we really enjoyed this experience. Highly recommend if you are pressed for time during your visit or if you are not an active person and walking for long periods or bike riding is challenging.

If you’re really into history, this tour is for you! You learn about the trees, the wildlife, actual history/historical figures. If you have children in tow, I would not recommend as my four children (17, 14, 13, 10) were bored out of their minds. Our operator, Hal, was very impressive with his knowledge and very calm with the horses. The park is gorgeous with age-old trees and flowers abound.
I suggest getting there right when they open (10am), so that you get the spot you want.

Tour booking system is not well managed. They oversell each carriage and then kick a certain number of people off — apparently this is common practice. We bought tickets about an hour ahead of time, and after everyone was seated, they kicked us off and told us we had to wait for the next carriage ride. We had plans right after and weren’t able to take the carriage, so had to forgo the experience altogether. Better to rent a bike and just do a self-guided walking or driving tour.

We enjoyed a charm horse-drawn carriage tour after visiting the Vancouver Aquarium in the early afternoon. Tickets are sold in booth connected to concession stand so we were able to purchase some sandwiches and ice cream for a quick and easy bite before our ride. They sell tickets for the next available slot only so if purchasing onsite, keep that in mind. We appreciated the knowledgeable commentary as we made our way through the breezy one-hour slow-paced tour through Stanley Park. Our toddler really enjoyed it. Cute experience!

This trolley tour was the highlight of our stay in Vancouver. We really enjoyed the ride through Stanley Park which took about an hour. We traversed around the island learned about the history and saw amazing sites. Are two horses, Lonnie and bigger were great friendly horses. Our driver was very knowledgeable and a great guide. If you go to Stanley Park I would recommend this attraction it is well worth the money. We knew we would be unable to walk the whole park so for us this was the perfect way to get around.

My favourite part was meeting Hal and the horses (Jack and Bigger). Even though Jack was a little naughty, Hal behaved himself throughout. Hal in fact gave a very knowledgeable narration along our tour which included information on the horses, history of the park and Vancouver the city itself.
It was a very warm day and the staff had fans and water spray for the horses and they seamed very well cared for.
A lovely little trip around Stanley park, thank you

We loved this tour! The horses, Jim and Lonny did a great job pulling the wagon and our tour guide was very loving and appreciative of her horses. She was very well informed and educated us well of all there was to see in the park, from the historical points to nature. You must do this ride to get the most out of this park. It is so worth it!

On a chilly spring day, hubby and I took this tour around the park for an hour. We were provided with a few blankets each to make us more comfortable and we were the only 2 tourists on the ride. NHal was our tour guide/horse handler. You could tell he loved and cared for the animals. He also knew his information and gave us history of the city and park and knew the birds we saw. We also had a 10 mi Ute stop by the totem poles and a chance to stretch our legs. Very enjoyable hour!
