About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- rowanf9540 contributionsLikely a great tour but pick your season and clothes carefullyI want to preface this by saying I'm sure this tour would be great if you are in the correct clothes for the day. No one can help the weather but this is more about appropriate preparation. I checked after the tour and couldn't find any reference as to what to wear. I think we were falsely reassured by seeing survival suits were provided. They are not water proof so on a wet cold day the water soaks through to your undies relatively quickly. Also with about 6 degrees ambient and raining, real temp is below zero. So woolen gloves when wet no good and you need water proof shoes. Being cold for a bit is fine, but wet and cold down to underwear and numb hands and feet does diminish the enjoyment when temp is so low. I think either water proof gear should be provided, or there should be clear instructions about what to wear on the day. Most people I suspect will assume a survival suit will keep them warm and dry mostly, which it doesn't. The guide was fantastic given the conditions and this is no reflection on her. So by all means go on this tour but my advice is 1. Probably avoid winter 2. If you do go in winter bring your own full water proof gear, including fleece under layers, wind/waterproof gloves eg gortex, waterproof shoes/boots. And consider a balaclava as the rain stings your face at pace. You can always leave stuff in the office if the weather is good.Written December 29, 2024
- V9564TQkarenh0 contributionsHighly recommend Granite Falls tour. Dress in warmly rainproof gear!Absolutely beautiful tour. Wear rain gear and dress warmly. You wear a suit, but it’s cold and wet out there on the water espywhen you are moving. (Dress like you would to ride a motorcycle when it’s raining.) I would go again and highly recommend it.Written December 29, 2024

- Explorer217579351390 contributionsGot bacterial skin infection from wetsuitAfter the excursion it was noted that red bumps became present in the areas that began to get itchy while wearing the wetsuit. They developed into a bacterial skin infection which has traveled across the body and has gotten worse. The excursion itself was fun, but the cleaning of the wetsuits at the end was up to the people who used them. Likely, whomever used the wetsuit before didn't properly clean it or skipped it altogether. Considering the skin infection and the fact people openly pee on them that's a gross thought. Not really worth spending money to get an infection which seems to be growing immune and persist through topical treatments imo.Written October 10, 2024
- Travellernearby0 contributionsWonderful trip with skipper GregGreg was the best skipper and guide we could have wanted. Enthousiastically and clear pointing out many interesting details about wildlife and history in the area that you will not easily find online. Very knowledgeable. Took the time to show the interesting things to all sides of the boat. Thanks Greg for all the extra's. For me personally I could miss the music on most of the speedy miles, but fair to say it also provided fun and energy. In general a stunningly beautiful trip, well on time, clearly informed, also about safety, a fast and rather comfortable boat/zodiac, good suits provided. Recommend it.Written October 6, 2024
- Mariejn02500 contributionsFun, Fast, ControlledGreg was our guide/captain. He was knowledgeable, friendly and a great captain. The boat was comfortable and the ride was fun, fast and controlled. Greg stopped at the scheduled locations, explaining and answering questions. He also stopped and pointed out bald eagles and seals. The three hours flew by and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a fun afternoon seeing the area.Written October 2, 2024

- poorimpulsectrl0 contributionsGreat tour of the waterline around Vancouver! What an absolutely wonderful tour. My 70-year old dad and I were on a zodiac with about a dozen people with Amy as our guide. It’s three hours of tour along the waterfront, across the bay, up a fjord, to a couple of absolutely beautiful natural attractions. We saw seals, jellies, birds, and learned about the communities in the forested areas around Vancouver. Additionally, Amy shared some knowledge about the First Nations folks and their history in the area. It got a bit wet and chilly, but the weather suits they put you in work very well. I’d recommend a hat and sunglasses.Written September 22, 2024
- cindybJ8961EC0 contributionsBeauty of NatureCaptain Jack was a fantastic boat guide. Full of knowledge, great stories to share, considerate of the boat riders, and so appreciative of the glorious sites to visit. His love of the land is apparent in his tour. This is a perfect way to spend a few hours of your vacation and fully embrace the beauty of the area. The orange suits were comfortable and appreciated in the chilly air. Honestly, I was a bit nervous about the bumps and turns on a high speed boat, but it was smooth sailing all along. This is a must do. I hope you meet Captain Jack, too!Written September 20, 2024
- paulstubud0 contributionsFabulous tripFantastic trip and Marco was a great guide/host. This is not just a fast boat trip to Bowen Island for dinner and back but a really informative tour on the way of various sights and history of Vancouver. Marco got a call on the way that whales were in the area so he made a quick detour and we saw whales actually jump out of the water - amazing experience. The food was great too. Highly recommended.Written September 19, 2024
- Barbara L0 contributionsBoat tripI feel like the boat ride could have been shorter. I would have liked to have not gone as far and had more time on Bowen Island. On the plus side, our captain/guide , Paul, was very friendly and knowledgeable.Written September 9, 2024

We had an incredible speed boat tour with Captain Jack on the Vancouver City and Seals Scenic Boat Tour that we booked via Vancouver Water Adventures. Captain Jack gave us some great history of the area, got up and close to the seals and saw other marine life such as starfish and even a jelly fish. It was the perfect amount of time in the water and would definitely book with this company again. We highly recommend this tour and this company.

Where to start - the day was looking like it was going to be very wet before we met up in the shop. Paul, our captain and guide for the trip, gave us all the option of a life jacket or the full suits. All chose the suits and I am glad I did as the boat (rigid hull dinghy) had two powerful outboard motors which meant it was fast and the wind felt a lot cooler at speed! The suits kept everyone dry and warm.
Paul gave an initial briefing of what to expect but also gave a knowledgeable talk around the ocean and ecosystem of the area. I learnt a lot in a very short space especially kelp beds and how much C02 they process (more than the rain forests!)
Earlier in the day there were humpback whales in the area which heightened everyone's excitement, unfortunately we did not spot any.
On the trundle out of the harbour Paul gave lots of interesting facts and cruising along to West Vancouver coast pointed out Will Smith's and also Robert De Niros houses.
There was also some history thrown in regarding the Spanish and English deciding who would take what land.
WE then went out past the lighthouse to an island (Seal Island?) where the seals were sitting on a relatively small rock, very nice to see them in their natural habitat along with thousands of sea skimming birds who took off as we approached. I believe that the fissure / gulley we entered is one of the most southern fjords in the Northern Hemisphere.
On the way back we pulled up next to one of the many massive tankers awaiting their turn to enter port.
Definitely worth the trip and if you get Paul, you are in for an informative treat.

We enjoyed this tour. Our guide (sorry! I don't remember his name) was fantastic! A heads up that, at least on the day we went (end of June), they were requiring everyone to be wearing long sleeves. Everyone who had a windbreaker or the like just needed to wear a regular life jacket, but my husband and I did not have jackets (it was around 90 degrees that day) so we had to wear full body suits. Another thing to be aware of is that the boat travels at high speeds. I suggest that you not wear a at as one person in our group nearly lost hers. Also, I was glad my hair was in a ponytail! We did this our first day in Vancouver and it gave us a good overview and lots of fun stories about the city and the people who live there. The highlight was just how close we were able to get to see the seals! We got some great photos!

We had only one day in Vancouver after our cruise and we are glad we chose this to do! Vancouver Water Adventures is a wonderful company, putting safety first. Danny, our boat captain/driver was very fun. Her comments about the history and the sites were great, and we thoroughly enjoyed having her as our guide.
This tour affords views of Vancouver and many of its neighborhoods that you simply can't get on the land. We were fortunate enough to see some seals and a couple of bald eagles.
And the ride itself was a blast, sometimes running at full speed, doing donuts in the bay. All around a spectacular tour.

Captains Grayden and Jett did an amazing job on this tour. They were so fun to be with and did a great job of putting people at ease before we started and then giving us an overall amazing experience. They gave us some fun facts and stories that we had never heard about some of the attractions that we stopped to see. The actual ride was a blast, they gave us several chances to see seals and wildlife, we got to see two bald eagles and learn more about them, and they gave us multiple views of the gorgeous sunset. Overall, it was an incredible experience and worth every penny!

This 90 minute tour deserves at least 5 stars - the boat was comfortable and fast, the views incredible and Captain Simon was a fantastic tour guide around the bay. Simon’s deep appreciation for the area was evident and really added to the majestic spots he took us to. The information he imparted was fascinating and the entire experience was a really fun one. If you can spare the time while in Vancouver, take this tour. You will not regret it!

The entire operation is run very well, from the sign in to the instructions about safety and the boat that you would be travelling in. Our tour guide Simon was very knowledgeable about about ever aspect of the tour, friendly and funny. He even helped me out of the boat. Even people who have travelled toVancouver before should definitely take this tour for a totally different perspective of this beautiful city. We loved every minute of it. Well done!!❤️

Our guide Amy was very friendly, fun and knowledgeable about the city and wildlife we saw. She was easy to hear and led a fantastic tour of English Bay. The boat was comfortable but I do recommend the suits, it’s cold out there! If you’re looking for a fun way to see more of the city you won’t regret booking a tour with these folks.

We booked at the last minute and it was a real treat. They give you full protective suits. Even though it was 24degrees and sunny we needed them for the wind chill.
Lawrence our guide was excellent and we saw a lot of different areas of the bay and we did see seals. Would thoroughly recommend the tour.

My whole group of 4 thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Our guide and captain, Brett, shared interesting stories, pointed out wildlife (like bald eagles that we would have surely missed) and took the time for some fabulous sunset photos. The boat ride was fun in itself and a great way to see Vancouver area. Definitely recommend!
