    Unique history tour - fun!,
This was such a fun and unusual tour. Really more a theatrical experience, but a great way to learn some of the history of Vancouver. Our tour guide, Emmett Hanley, was exceptional and really brought the history to life. Well worth the time,,

It was a dark, rainy night… perfect for conjuring
With engaging tales of fires, flood, famine and fever, Emmett the storyteller portrays a history so rich, it goes down like chocolate pudding!

    Must-do tour of spooky Gastown.
We thoroughly enjoyed our spooky, rainy Lost Souls walking tour of Gastown. As a group of Vancouverites, we learned much about our fair (and not-so-fair!) city. Our guide, Janet, was a hoot, staying in character throughout. She embellished her stories with enough humour and pathos that they carried us away—highly recommended.

    Cole was a great host/Storyteller!
We loved our The Lost Souls of Gastown Tour. Host/Storyteller Cole B was an excellent host - alternating between historical facts, fun anecdotes, and genuinely touching human stories. Highly recommended to all!!

    Fun solo experience!
I was in town for a conference and took the tour as a way to learn and experience some of the city. Will gave a fantastic tour to our group which included locals, out of towners, and international visitors. He was knowledgable not just about the stories at each stop but general city history and also spoke well about Canada's current state of truth and reconciliation as people had questions. The treats were all delicious and I was able to take some amazing photos! The access we got to various beautiful art deco sites was very cool. On top of that Will had fun recommendations for more things to do and also facilitated an environment that led to more of us in the group chatting and sharing activities for later. I would recommend this tour to solo travellers, duos, and families with pre-teens and up.

    So good!
This tour was so good! So much history I didn’t know about the city I live in, and the buildings I walk past everyday. Highly highly recommend! Our guide was funny and personable, and sometimes it’s just nice to be a tourist in your own town!

    Great Prohibition Tour
We really enjoyed our tour with Lenard learning about prohibition in Canada. It was a great tour, felt informal but super informative was a lovely atmosphere. The only reason it doesnt get 5/5 is because there isnt a designated toilet opportunity/stop. Would definitely recommend and we will be trying their other tours.

A unique and very very fun tour!
We took a tour last night, April 19th with the amazing character tour guide, Stewart! What a tour it was!! Stewart made the tour that little bit more special with his personal touches and very very funny additional jokes. Using the sounds of the surrounding traffic and moving vehicles or public as part of the tour show instead of allowing them to disrupt our experience. He took us around Gastown acting as a character which is something very unique to the tour and my friends and I have not experienced before. I am a tour lover and this definitely hit the tour spot for me! Honestly, worth every dollar and cent! We can't wait for the next one already. Oh, and if you're lucky, you'll get a few candies along the way :D

Entertaining and informative! Glenn was great!
Glenn was fantastic! We appreciated his depth of historical knowledge and how he incorporated it into his presentation. He had a fun and engaging way of telling the stories and, with his sense of humour, skillfully included the listeners’ observations and questions along the way. Highly recommend!!

I attended Glenn's tour after living in Vancouver for 20 years and learnt an incredible amount of Vancouver's history on this informative, insightful tour. Glenn was very engaging and an excellent story teller. I was impressed by the depth and breadth of the tour and the in-depth research Glenn has conducted. I would highly recommend the tour to anyone interested in Vancouver's colourful and sometimes dark history.

Today I had the joy to embark on this historical adventure lead by Glenn. Information is well curated and, as we learnt from a friend who had gone on this tour a few years back, both the itinerary and facts shared on the tour had been updated to better represent all queer groups and to engage better those joining the tour.

The tour lasted a bit over two hours, though I have to say it felt shorter! Glenn is a great storyteller and all he was sharing with us, the queer history of the city, you could tell how important it was and it sure touched us.

It was interesting, with a side of coincidence, how one of the ladies touring in our group confirmed some of the facts he was telling us, seeing how she was there, working as a waitress, while all that history was unfolding.

I can't recommend this tour enough.

Thanks for the fantastic tour, Glenn!

This was an engaging and thought-provoking tour, and well worth your time even if (or maybe especially if) you’re a local. Glenn was an amazing tour guide. It was obvious how much passion and research he put into this. His storytelling was entertaining as well as informative, and at times quite emotional. It left me with a greater appreciation for the history of the city. I grew up in Vancouver, and while I remember some of the more recent events mentioned on the tour, I now have a clearer picture of the context surrounding them and how they interconnect.

After the tour, I find myself still reflecting on the importance of community, solidarity, and mutual respect and understanding. I can’t recommend this enough. 11/10!

Myself, my wife and our 2 friends joined us in the walk with Glenn. From the warm greeting to the end of our tour Glenn was simply excellent. He was professional, engaging, informative, and just a great host. He welcomed all questions and encouraged us to relate any stories we could add. He put life into the stories ...... Real people.......their struggles and the real changed they fought for..... Thank you Glenn

This was definitely one of the best walking tours I have ever been to. Glenn was an amazing storyteller and shared with us many interesting facts and stories. A lot of research has gone into this tour and Glenn graciously shared the experiences of people he interviewed who lived the events he retells in the tour. This tour is a must to truly understand how Vancouver's gay past has influenced today's city. Thank you so much Glenn for the amazing experience!

It was a powerful and emotional tour; the work that had been put in to compiling it, and Glenn's clear love for the topic and the history, was really evident, as was the respect with which everything was treated.

Everyone was smiling and tearing up alternately throughout, and it really created a brief bond between all us strangers taking the tour. A definite high point of my visit.

I'd strongly recommend it for anyone with an interest in queer history, as well as anyone who doesn't know much at all about it but would like to step outside their comfort zone and learn.

I had just recently been on Glenn's Forbidden Vancouver History Tour which was really entertaining, and full of information I did not yet know about the prohibition in Vancouver. Knowing that Glenn was running the Really Gay History Tour and is the creator of that walking tour, encouraged me to sign up to do that one, too. The experience did not disappoint. The group was a mixture of people who are and are not immersed in the LGBTQDIAP2s+, and I can say that the tour spoke to us all. Emotions ran high from powerful stories about discriminatory policies and treatment, fighting for rights, changing the minds of many, and as well about triumphs and long overdue justice.

As a teacher, I am always most concerned that our students feel welcome, valued, loved, and connected. This is one way that I can help make that happen! Thank you Glenn for helping me find one more way to connect with LGBTQ youth and gain more background knowledge for students who dig into the LGBTQ options for our Canadian Discriminatory Policies unit in Grade 9 Social Studies!

The really gay history tour is one of the best walking tours I've been to. The tour guide Glenn(with double N) is such a gifted storyteller. You may expect more than a city tour thanks to the emotional narratives he added. I highly recommend this tour to those who want to know "more" about Vancouver gay history.

This was a very interesting tour to participate. Glenn is a wonderful host, talented story teller, who takes us into LGBTQ2+ powerful history in Vancouver. So much that we don’t know and that it is not widely shared! So much struggle and so much fight to reach where the community is today. This is a must tour to widen understanding and narrow prejudice. Well done Glenn!!
