- nancymM553BN0 contributionsUnique experience with fantastic guide!Incredible experience. Note that the road to get there was full of potholes, so be prepared. Dress to get wet. You can rent rubber boots there if need be and they will also provide a protective suit and helmet.Written November 15, 2024
- H290FQdaveb0 contributionsGreat Caving Experience. Curtis is a Blast!!!We all loved the "Adventure Tour" we took with Curtis. All of us did the optional adventurous extras inside the caves and were very very happy with the experience. Curtis was an absolute riot and very knowledgeable and he made the trip so much better. If you don't might getting dirty and wet and love climbing stuff you will enjoy this trip. Plan a little extra time to navigate the potholes in the dirt road around the lake.Written November 13, 2024

- R3824NJtiffanys0 contributionsAwesome experience doing the max depth tourAwesome tour with the best guide! My friend and I did the Max Depth tour with our guide Oscar. We were underground for around 5 hours and got to do the craziest repels and get down and dirty on our bellies crawling through tight spaces. Worth it!Written September 22, 2024
- 17lisas0 contributionsFun Experience for First Time Cavers!Had the most amazing tour of the caves with Oscar. He was fun, informative and had a great demeanor. We did the Action Pack tour, which was the perfect length. Saw some very interesting caves, learned lots and still had the afternoon to do other things. We were first time Cavers and it did not disappoint. We rented the suits, and were very happy we did! Kept our clothes clean and dry!Written September 3, 2024
- 116mabelk0 contributionsOur motto was if a 6 year old could do it then we could do it.Our guide Alexis was awesome and full of knowledge. My cousin who is 76, has lived on the island all her life and asked me to do this adventure with her. The hike to the caves is all uphill and yes there are several stops on the way. The cave is unlike the caves I have been in Oregon and Washington. This cave was more wild with lots of bolders to climb over but the crystal formation is worth the effort. This adventure stretch my physical ability because I am out of shape but has made me want to get in shape to come back to explore more of the caves. I have recommended this activity to several of my friends in family. When you are hiking up to the cave entrance do not give up but keep going because being in the cave is magical.Written August 31, 2024

- Sheri B0 contributionsThe most awesome, epic caving tour ever! 🤙We did the Achilles Challenge the other day, with Nikolai (not sure if I spelled that correctly), and I was a little nervous going in especially about the parts with the belly crawls, as I have a little bit of claustrophobic fears. He was such an amazing guide, and really made it so much fun and I was very comfortable the entire time. I had no issues at all, I was so pleased I was able to complete the tour with no fear at all, and I can't wait to do it again! Thank you so much Nikolai for you patience and awesome work! We had such a blast! 👍😁Written August 22, 2024

Wow! Completely sums up our tour. Just Wow!! We walked through the caves in awe. It was such a great adventure. My daughter was quite nervous when I booked and after 5 minutes she was completely comfortable and exploring. She told me after that our guide, TJ, and his jokes and easygoing nature helped keep her calm and made it soooo fun! Thanks TJ!! "Rock & Roll"!!

We went to Horne Lake caves with three children (10, 12, 16). Even during COVID shutdown times, the experience was excellent. Erin guided us through the woods on a nice nature walk, with little stops and useful information along the way. The caves themselves were “challenge by choice” and we got to push ourselves while still feeling completely safe. We each climbed a vertical cave waterfall and somehow it all felt completely safe and thrilling at the same time. We learned a lot about cave geology at a level that was pitched really well for both kids and adults. Lastly, the COVID precautions were really well done. We felt completely safe and yet not at all limited in our ability to enjoy the whole experience. 10/10 recommend.

Had a great caving experience at Horne Lake Caves. Our guide Myles was extremely knowledgeable, and did a wonderful job sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm for caving with the group. The calcite features in Riverbend cave were quite impressive, and the waterfall chute climb was challenging and fun. Knee pads would have made the experience more enjoyable for me, and I certainly was happy I had gloves, so I would recommend both. Thanks!

The logging road up to the Horne Lake Caves is bumpy gravel, give yourself time to drive up there slowly. Emile (A-Meal) our guide was fantastic, he was very patient with my kids, answered all their questions. He knew his stuff, our family felt safe with him as a guide. Gave us some tips on what else to see on our trip.
The Multi-Cave experience was fabulous. Wear warm older clothes, the jagged rocks rubbed against clothes making little tears and the caves are wet in some spots. Few spots where you are on your hands and knees getting through, few places to climb. Best part was the total black out experience, where we all turned off our headlamps. Bring your own gloves to grab onto jagged sharp rocks easier (they sell gloves at the visitor centre too for $6). Thank you Emile!
Highly recommend, for something different to do during a beach vacation. Bring appropriate clothing though!
August 17, 2021: Masks not required for the hiking trail to the caves, masks ARE required INSIDE the caves.

Booking online was simple, and reminder follow-ups with trip details came through in great time. It was a fun and wet day for our tour, and we had Adam as our guide. Adam is funny, experienced, informative, and great with people of different experience levels. He showed us Main Cave and Lower Cave, as well as visiting the entrance to River Bend.
The water levels were rushing too much to enter River Bend, so we got a cool glimpse of what it looks like at its wettest. The whole experience was adventurous and fun!
The trails are in great condition, and make for a nice hike around the park to the caves.
Definitely going to be returning for more guided tours and checking out the park!
Thank you!

This tour was awesome. We had never done any sort of caving before so we were a little apprehensive about crawling through dark tight spaces. But nothing ever felt uncomfortably tight and with everyone’s headlamps on it never felt dark (aside from our intentional “lights out” session). The guide made us feel safe and was super knowledgeable. Plus you could tell he really loved his job. I would 110% recommend this to anyone looking for something just a bit different to make a great memory.

Had a great time! It was my second tour through, and had just as much fun the second time around. Our guide Curtis made the trip with his amazing puns, information and humour.
Caves: 10/10 I hope I see bats next time!
Guide: 10/10
Puns: 10/10
**road to caves 1/10. Horrible pot holes. Seriously so bad. Give yourself like an extra 20 minutes so you can go 2 km/hr and try and dodge them. **
Can't wait for the longer "extreme" cave tour to open next summer!!

Had a great family adventure with Miles our guide. He was very knowledgeable in explaining thing on our hike and inside the cave. Our kids age 16 and 14 loved climbing through the small dark spaces. Covid protocol was in place. Max 6 per group. We were a family of 4 going with a married couple. We stayed separate from each other and you must wear mask. Would recommend the multi-cave explorer as you go to two separate caves for different minerals formations.

We had fun caving together as a family with teens ages 14 & 16! This is wild caving - all natural - so we climbed, crouched, crawled, scrambled and squeezed our way through. There are a few tight spots and some good open areas as well. Our guide Cat was great and made us all feel very welcome. She was very accommodating and made everyone feel safe and comfortable. She’s an experienced guide and would always ask the group if they were comfortable going in, moving on, etc. There were opportunities to opt out if anyone felt claustrophobic or uncomfortable. Our entire group went all the way through. There were some cool features to see. It was a unique experience and our boys totally loved it! Thanks Cat 😊

This cave experience was really worth it, I had been in touristic caves before, and while beautifully lighted and easy to walk on, it doesn't compare to having a more natural cave exploration using only the light on your helmet, and climbing here and there, going through narrower passages and larger chambers, this one is a real caving experience. I am not very fit, but had no problem with any part. Oscar was a very fun, knowledgeable and passionate guide with lots of interesting insight and information and was very helpful. Highly recommended!
