      A fabulous wildlife tour.
What a fabulous tour......from start to finish it was amazing. We saw so much wildlife.....humpback whales, orcas, eagles, seals, and of course grizzly bears......5 of them.....and the important thing was that they were in their own habitat. Although the bears were really close at times we felt totally safe with our guide Stewert. Captain John and Zoe were great on the boat too. We had a delicious lunch and snacks too. The tour totally fulfilled all our dreams and expectations....I can't recommend it enough. Thank you.

A Day We Will Never Forget!
We did the full day tour to Bute, & had a truly wonderful time. It was a cool & cloudy day, & we did get a bit chilly on the upper deck for the outward journey (even though thought we had layered up sufficiently & were given a cosy blanket to snuggle under) But that was our choice - we could have gone inside, & as the boat stopped every time any wildlife was spotted so anyone who was inside keeping warm could easily come outside for a better view (as we did on our return journey) The Captain & his 1st Mate were very friendly & knowledgeable, as were the Homalco guides once we reached the mainland viewing areas. We were fortunate to see dolphins, porpoises, sea lions, a humpback & 4 orca from the boat - but, of course, the highlight was the bear viewing. We were able to observe one young male catching & eating salmon for what seem like ages - at one point so close that we could hear him crunching the bones! A real heart stopping experience that we will never forget! We also saw a mother & her 2 cubs, plus another solo male, for shorter periods of time & at greater distances, as well as a herd of Elk, 2 Bald eagles (an adult & a juvenile) a merganser duck, & a pair of Turkey Vultures. Lunch (served at the picnic tables on the Orford River dock) was so plentiful that we didn't have time to eat it all before getting onto our minibus, but we were told we could leave it on the boat for the return journey. The information we received in advance of the trip was to only bring water, no other food & drink allowed. Turned out that the only part of the day this rule really applied to was once we got on the minibuses & at the viewing points. If we'd know this, we would have brought something other than water to drink. But that aside, this trip was definitely one of our Top 5 Highlights in a 3 week trip that was packed full of amazing experiences!

Excellent day out despite mostly poor weather
We did the Toba inlet tour starting at 7am on a very rainy day. We ended up seeing just one grizzly (along with a black bear), but not much can be done about that and the guide let us borrow binoculars to see the bear better. We were just glad we saw one! On the boat ride there and back, we also ended up seeing some porpoises (who swam around and under the boat), a humpback, and a group of 3 orcas, which we were thrilled to see. The covered boat was warm inside and also had a seating/viewing area on top which was awesome for seeing the whales. Our guide (Bratton?) was excellent, told us plenty about the area and the wildlife, and we had a great time all in all. We would definitely recommend this - highlight of our trip so far!

The highlight of our Canada holiday
The highlight of our Canada holiday. Alex & Zoe on the boat and Stewert & James on the bear bus all did a great job of finding wildlife and making it a day to remember. On the bear tour, we saw 8 grizzlies, some of them fishing for salmon just a few metres away. Stewert provided lots of information about the animals and the local culture (plus a few old jokes to keep everyone smiling). On the outward boat journey the wildlife spotted included a humpback. And so much more on the return. Despite it getting late in the day, Alex continued to stop whenever there was a chance to see more. Sealions salmon fishing in the whirlpools, bald eagles, seals, dolphins and orcas. Highly recommended

The most amazing grizzly bear experience!
We went on a Grizzly Tour to Bute Inlet. It was mind blowing and amazing. The tour was perfectly organized, we stopped several times for wildlife (humpbacks, seals) on the way. As we arrived at the Bute Inlet, we got a very high-quality lunch served consisting out of a wrap, cookies, granola bar, dried fruits and coffee/tea/hot chocolate. All homemade. The bear viewing part was simply mind blowing. Super nice and friendly guides explaining the history, the behaviours of the bears and providing lots of information about their culture and the region. We saw several bears fishing for salmon, even a mom with two cubs. We had lots of time with the bears at several viewing points. The guides on the boat are super professional and the friendliest people ever. Yes, it is an expensive tour, but it is so worth every penny! We will definitely do it again!! We absolutely recommend it to make your trip unforgettable.

All we had hoped for - and more!
Calm seas and blue skies gave us a picture-book backdrop for our visit to the waters around Quadra and the other Discovery Islands. The whales responded well and came to say hello - in the afternoon we were the only boat in the vicinity of a pod with possibly a new humpback on his/her first visit to the area ... that was very special. On our journey we also saw porpoises, dolphins - and a large gathering of "near-threatened" Steller Sealions "catching some rays" on a rocky outcrop. As we reflect on an amazing experience we are immensely grateful not just for the privilege of being with these animals in their habitat, but also because we learned so much about them from our knowledgeable and friendly boat-driver, guide and naturalist, Quinn. Oh, and the lunch was pretty good too! All-in-all, it was worth every penny and we couldn't recommend it more highly.

A terrific day on the water
Had a wonderful trip on our tour with our fantastic guide, Marty. Saw 10+ humpbacks, a pod of orca, dolphins, seals and sea lions. Water was calm, no wind, a perfect day for it. A terrific experience, highly recommended.

      Brilliant
We did two tours with this company, on the whale watching trip saw orcas, humpbacks and Stellar sealions. Guide very knowledgeable and helpful. Also did Bute inlet bear watching, saw 8 grizzlies, couldn't believe how close we were to them. Also saw orcas and humpbacks on the journey

      Awsome morning Whale Watching.
What a fantastic trip, we saw Sea Lions , 2 Hump Back Whales, enjoyed the most stunning scenery you could imagine, truly magical morning. Tyler W kept us informed throughout the trip, top class guy and guide with a wealth of knowledge which he happily shared with us, very natural in his delivery, never seemed like he was reading a script like some tour operators. Obviously passionate about conservation, that came across numerous times. 100% recommended, can't wait to come back. Thanks Tyler W.

It was all so well organised and Tyler W was absolutely charming. The boat was really comfortable as well. Nice to be able to retreat to the warmth of inside. Disappointed to only see 2 humpbacks but it was not for want of trying. Highly recommend!

      Amazing experience!
An awesome grizzly bear tour to Toba Inlet. The weather was not good (an understatement!) but our amazing captain, Tyler, made up for it with his knowledge, warmth and humour. The boat was much more comfortable than I expected, with a heater, comfy seats and a toilet. Tyler explained the route he would take to make the journey as smooth as possible in windy conditions, and everything he said was spot on. The Klahoose guides at Toba were also brilliant. They took us to several hides, communicating between themselves to ensure we saw grizzlies, and shared their knowledge of the bears and the land which was fascinating. We felt in very safe hands. Snacks and lunch were excellent, and the whole day was run very efficiently. Highly recommend. This was an experience I will never forget.

Our Guide the most excellent Bec, made sure we had a spectacular experience
We, 3 Adults and a 7 year old Great Nephew from New Zealand were treated with kindness and patience as the 7 year old was bursting with excitement and questions. All of his questions were answered respectfully and we all learned a lot from Becs answers The most thrilling part was when 1 of the 5 Humpbacks we saw breached a short distance from our Zodiak as we were on route to catch up with 3 Humpbacks. Bec allowed extra time to watch this welcome diversion. The waters all around us were super calm making for a wonderful experience for everyone on board.

      Awesome whale acrobatics!
Laura was such an incredible pilot on our awesome whale-watching tour! With no whales on anyone's radar, she found us a pod of 6 Humpbacks. Laura shut down the boat engine for 20 minutes while the Humpbacks came to our boat & performed incredible acrobats for us. Then she took us to Mitlenatch Island to explain & enjoy lots of Sea Lions, Seals & ducks & birds. Thanx for such a memorable tour!

Every aspect of our Toba Inlet expedition was exceptional. Tyler is an excellent guide and host. The hi-speed boat is well equipped and comfortable, plus you have the option to sit on top, exposed to the elements, which is exhilirating. The 55 nautical mile boat ride to Toba Inlet takes you through the most superb scenery of fijords with snow capped and wooded mountains. We were provided plenty of opportunity to whale watch both to and from Toba Inlet. The grizzilies were very present at the viewing location, which we travelled to by a small bus with our first nation guide and driver. We had ample opportunity to view and photograph the bears and importantly the group size was comfortable to ensure plenty of viewing access. We also moved to different locations along the Toba river and witnessed pink salmon spawning in the river shallows and grizzly resting places in the riverbank sand. At the Toba Inlet logging camp and moorings we enjoyed a tasty picnic lunch and got to watch huge logging trucks offload their loads into the sea and being penned for later travel by tugboat to a distant saw mill. This full day excursion is in the top 3 we have experienced of many excurions in many countries we have undertaken - truly world class. We will be back to explore the Bute Inlet.

Thank you for your review on your Grizzly Bear experience with us in Toba Inlet. It was our pleasure to share the breathtaking beauty of the Toba Inlet and our spectacular marine wildlife with you on the way to the Grizzly Bear Tour. Watching Grizzlies from the viewing stands as they move along the river in search of the spawning salmon is quite the experience and we are thrilled that you enjoyed your tour with us and look forward to welcoming you to discover Bute Inlet with us.

Spent a spectacular day whale and grizzly bear watching. It could not have been better. Our guide Steve was extremely knowledgeable about the area and wildlife along the way. We saw humpback whales and Orca both on the way to Toba and then again on our way back. The bear watching couldn’t have been better. Saw many bears fishing for salmon along the River. Our guide up there was Bennie who has been there many years and knew most of the bears we saw. We felt very safe up on the platforms where you can watch them without disturbing them. I would highly recommend this tour if you want to see wildlife at its best. Also we were provided a delicious lunch and snack during the trip.

We had an amazing day in the Toba inlet! Our boat captain Steve and Quinn were really friendly and had lots of interesting information. Bennie our guide was also really friendly, knowledgeable and you felt safe.
Not long into our boat journey a humpback breached 3 times, it was amazing! The team really seem to love what they do, and we came across a few more whales on route.
Seeing the Grizzlies was incredible, I never imagined we’d be so close or see so many. It was so lovely watching them just go about their day fishing for salmon. One of the best trips I’ve ever been on. The three hours on land flew by!
I also usually get very sea sick but with tablets & bands I didn’t feel anything at all, the boat was very comfortable.
We will definitely be back! Thanks to the whole team!

Even though the logging trucks came through at Toba and we didn't see a bear, they honoured their guarantee and put us on another trip2 days later to Butte where we did see bears.
We saw a great number of dolphins which was a highlight of our first trip. Saw around 100 dolphins and stayed with them for at least one half hour.
Boat and guides were great. Would go with this company again.

Everything was just great and perfectly organised. Whatever big wild animal you encounter, you feel safe all the time. And, more important, you know they're safe too because you never get too close. Our guide, Tyler, is a passionate local guy who will answer all your questions, always in a humble and friendly way. And Stuart, our native guide who took us to the Grizzlies, is a great man too who brings even more spirit to this adventure. Respect for wildlife is important to this companie and that's exactly what our planet needs right now. Congratulations to all the team! I've had one of the times of my life !

We did the Full Day Grizzly Bear Tour to Toba Inlet and it was a wonderful experience and we would recommend it warmly to all nature-lovers. Our guides from Campbell River Whale Watching and Adventures Tours and Klahoose Coastal Adventures were very friendly and knowledgable.
In total we saw 5 bears (including one mum with 2 cubs) though all of them decided to keep their distance, so no close-ups of bears for us. It was nevertheless fascinating to watch the bears fishing.
It is definitely a good idea to bring your binoculars (though the tour company also had three to share between guests). The guides did their best to provide us with good sightings and were constantly in exchange with other guides to find out from which hide the bears could be best seen, we travelled multiple times from one hide to the next.
The snacks and lunch were served during the boat journey and lovingly prepared. Only one minor point for improvement: There were four different lunch options with meat but no vegetarian one.
The views during the trip to the inlet are stunning and we saw several humpback whales on our way there and some Stellar Sea lions on our way back. We really appreciated that the company cooperates with Wilderness International to protect the forests of Toba and operate Carbon Neutral.
If you want to see grizzlies fishing, we definitely recommend this tour and we hope to travel with Campbell River Whale Watching in the future to see the grizzlies closer than this time.

HUGE thanks to Captain Steve and Benny for a fabulous tour where we saw so much wildlife! On the boat ride going out to see the Grizzlies, we saw Humpback whales. Once on land, Capt. Steve and Benny teamed up to look for Grizzlies and we found them quickly by the car bridge. Then we drove to one of the viewing platforms and saw even more Grizzlies catching salmon--they made it look so easy! On the boat ride going back, we went by waterfalls and saw more Humpbacks (one breached!) and a pod of Orcas.

The full-day tour up the Toba Inlet was such a fantastic experience. Tyler, our guide, was extremely knowledgeable and ensured that we had a safe and memorable experience. Only a few minutes after departing the dock, we saw our first humpback whale of the day and several more on our way to Toba inlet. The views on the way there were spectacular. Once we arrived at Toba, we took a bus to the first set of viewing platforms. At the first platform, we watched a male grizzly eating salmon, a female and a cub on the other side of the river, and two large males further down the river. We visited several platforms, and we pretty much had our eyes on grizzlies the entire time. In the end, we saw a total of 9 different grizzlies and several bald eagles. On the return home, we saw several more humpbacks and witnessed some lunge feeding, which I thought was exceptionally cool. I have viewed wildlife worldwide, but Tyler and Campbell River Whale Watching are the most professional company I have ever booked with. It was a truly amazing experience, and I hope to be able to return one day.

Had a fabulous Grizzly Bear Watching tour in the Bute Inlet just over 1 wk ago. Beautiful day and my dream of seeing a Grizzly bear in the wild came true. Thank you to Tyler, Quinn & Homalco Nation for their professionalism & knowledge. Saw 3 grizzly bears in total, one coming quite close but we felt safe at all times. Also on the boat to & from we saw 2 humpbacks, stellar sea lion colony and a black bear. Highly recommend Campbell River Whale Watching and I will be back to do more. Next time Toba Inlet for a change. I also have to say my many e-mails to your company prior to the tour booking were handled very professionally as well by Zoe. Your entire team is fabulous from A-Z

This was the most incredible experience. We had travelled from the UK with this tour as our main focus - to see grizzlies in their own habitat. Absolutely brilliant!! Our guide Robin was excellent and the whole day was an adventure to be remembered forever!
It was worth the time, money and effort of getting there - my videos would give David Attenborough a run for his money 😀👍
