      Outstanding experience.
What a wonderful experience! Our guide and captain Bex was great. She was so knowledgeable and friendly. We were lucky enough to see sea lions seals dolphins hump back whales and orcas. Bex timed the tour so that we could see the spectacular display of hundreds of eagles diving for hake. An amazing experience. We were very impressed with the picnic lunch provided on Stuart island. Thank you so much Bex for such an excellent day!!!! Richard and Jane from the UK.

Beth our guide was friendly and very knowledgeable. Had a great day watching dolphins, lots of eagles, harbour seals and at the last hour orca whales. No humpbacks but you can’t have everything. The lunch provided was excellent too. Had a great day and would recommend this trip

      Great waterfall and bear tour
We absolutely enjoyed our trip. Marty was great to take time, answer questions, navigate the boat so that everyone would have plenty of time to see everything. His interactions with our 8 year old were also just super fun to have him engaged in all that goes on around the boat. We saw bears, whales, eagles, seals and plenty of waterfalls. A local arranges their lunch packs and they were absolutely great!

An amazing day out on the water!
We had an amazing trip around the islands off of Campbell River. Our guide Zoe was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. She did an amazing job finding us whales, sea lions, dolphins and more! The boat was comfortable and even had a washroom on board. Very impressed with how professional the whole process was. I would strongly recommend booking with this company if you want to have an amazing west coast wildlife experience!

      Outstanding!
Outstanding! We went in the spring bear and waterfall tour and the zodiac four hour whale watching experience. The guides on both tours were extremely knowledgable and enthusiastic and really cared about both our experience and that of the wildlife. We were extremely lucky to see bears, humpbacks and orcas. We also got to see eagles, seals, sea lions and other birds galore. Couldn’t rate the company or guides more highly! (The lunch in the all day tour was great too!).

Everything we wanted in a wildlife tour!
Brad (hopefully remembered right) was amazing captain and spotter. We saw Orca, Humpbacks, Porpoise, Sea Lions, Seals and 3 Black Bears. It was a fun day out. Was nice talking to him about island life as well.

      A fabulous wildlife tour.
What a fabulous tour......from start to finish it was amazing. We saw so much wildlife.....humpback whales, orcas, eagles, seals, and of course grizzly bears......5 of them.....and the important thing was that they were in their own habitat. Although the bears were really close at times we felt totally safe with our guide Stewert. Captain John and Zoe were great on the boat too. We had a delicious lunch and snacks too. The tour totally fulfilled all our dreams and expectations....I can't recommend it enough. Thank you.

      Amazing!
The boat captain (Captain John), naturalist(Zoey), and native guide(Cheyenne) were all fantastic. Very friendly and knowledgeable. They get you up close and personal, but in a safe manner. We saw orcas, humpback whales, grizzlies, sea lions, and bald eagles.

A Day We Will Never Forget!
We did the full day tour to Bute, & had a truly wonderful time. It was a cool & cloudy day, & we did get a bit chilly on the upper deck for the outward journey (even though thought we had layered up sufficiently & were given a cosy blanket to snuggle under) But that was our choice - we could have gone inside, & as the boat stopped every time any wildlife was spotted so anyone who was inside keeping warm could easily come outside for a better view (as we did on our return journey) The Captain & his 1st Mate were very friendly & knowledgeable, as were the Homalco guides once we reached the mainland viewing areas. We were fortunate to see dolphins, porpoises, sea lions, a humpback & 4 orca from the boat - but, of course, the highlight was the bear viewing. We were able to observe one young male catching & eating salmon for what seem like ages - at one point so close that we could hear him crunching the bones! A real heart stopping experience that we will never forget! We also saw a mother & her 2 cubs, plus another solo male, for shorter periods of time & at greater distances, as well as a herd of Elk, 2 Bald eagles (an adult & a juvenile) a merganser duck, & a pair of Turkey Vultures. Lunch (served at the picnic tables on the Orford River dock) was so plentiful that we didn't have time to eat it all before getting onto our minibus, but we were told we could leave it on the boat for the return journey. The information we received in advance of the trip was to only bring water, no other food & drink allowed. Turned out that the only part of the day this rule really applied to was once we got on the minibuses & at the viewing points. If we'd know this, we would have brought something other than water to drink. But that aside, this trip was definitely one of our Top 5 Highlights in a 3 week trip that was packed full of amazing experiences!

Excellent day out despite mostly poor weather
We did the Toba inlet tour starting at 7am on a very rainy day. We ended up seeing just one grizzly (along with a black bear), but not much can be done about that and the guide let us borrow binoculars to see the bear better. We were just glad we saw one! On the boat ride there and back, we also ended up seeing some porpoises (who swam around and under the boat), a humpback, and a group of 3 orcas, which we were thrilled to see. The covered boat was warm inside and also had a seating/viewing area on top which was awesome for seeing the whales. Our guide (Bratton?) was excellent, told us plenty about the area and the wildlife, and we had a great time all in all. We would definitely recommend this - highlight of our trip so far!

The highlight of our Canada holiday
The highlight of our Canada holiday. Alex & Zoe on the boat and Stewert & James on the bear bus all did a great job of finding wildlife and making it a day to remember. On the bear tour, we saw 8 grizzlies, some of them fishing for salmon just a few metres away. Stewert provided lots of information about the animals and the local culture (plus a few old jokes to keep everyone smiling). On the outward boat journey the wildlife spotted included a humpback. And so much more on the return. Despite it getting late in the day, Alex continued to stop whenever there was a chance to see more. Sealions salmon fishing in the whirlpools, bald eagles, seals, dolphins and orcas. Highly recommended

The most amazing grizzly bear experience!
We went on a Grizzly Tour to Bute Inlet. It was mind blowing and amazing. The tour was perfectly organized, we stopped several times for wildlife (humpbacks, seals) on the way. As we arrived at the Bute Inlet, we got a very high-quality lunch served consisting out of a wrap, cookies, granola bar, dried fruits and coffee/tea/hot chocolate. All homemade. The bear viewing part was simply mind blowing. Super nice and friendly guides explaining the history, the behaviours of the bears and providing lots of information about their culture and the region. We saw several bears fishing for salmon, even a mom with two cubs. We had lots of time with the bears at several viewing points. The guides on the boat are super professional and the friendliest people ever. Yes, it is an expensive tour, but it is so worth every penny! We will definitely do it again!! We absolutely recommend it to make your trip unforgettable.

Dishonest company. Called company and made reservations for my wife and me. I was told by the representative on the phone that this is a wildlife safari trip on a small boat that takes up to 12 guests, and we are gonna see all sorts of birds and wildlife. I was asking if we would be seeing bears and the lady said that it’s too early, but there is always a possibility to see them this time of year. When we arrived, the boat was a bigger vessel and we were 24 guests plus 2 crew members. When I spoke to the crew members and asked about seeing bears he laughed and said that this is strictly a whale watching tour, and we are only going to see ocean mammals. I felt that the entire 4 hour trip was a waste of time and considering disputing their charge as they did not delivered what was promised. BTW, I have been to many other whale watching tours, and this one was the worst tour as the bigger vessel could only stay almost a mile from the whales making it impossible to watch and/or photograph the animal. I am not happy.

Our goal is always to go above and beyond to ensure that our guests have the best experience possible while out on the water with us. Therefore, we were extremely concerned to read your review and to learn that you felt misled or misinformed in any way with regard to the size of the vessel and the wildlife you would likely see during your recent 4 hour whales & wildlife tour with us. Our 4 hour tours are offered on either open zodiacs or covered boats. While the zodiacs carry up to a maximum of 12 passengers, we very rarely specify the number of passengers on our covered boats. This is because the covered boats are allocated and confirmed based on the number of bookings received for each particular tour on any one day. Our larger covered boat is normally extremely popular, offering 3 viewing decks with a large heated cabin with seating for 20, plus additional outdoor seating on the upper deck, and a spacious back deck with plenty of space for viewing wildlife. Please be assured that the size of the boat has no bearing what so ever, as to how close you can get to the whales or other marine mammals. There are strict government regulations that we are obligated to follow. https://www.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/species-especes/mammals-mammiferes/watching-observation/index-eng.html The information you were initially given regarding the chance of seeing bears was correct. It is still too early for Grizzly Bears but there is the chance of seeing black bears foraging along the shoreline. Our 4 hour Whales & Wildlife tours are focused on marine mammals and sea birds - but when viewing wildlife in the wild there are no guarantees as to what will be seen on any tour. We sincerely apologize if this was not clearly and correctly explained to you before or during the tour. Had your feelings been brought to our attention before you left our offices at the end of your tour, we would have willingly addressed your disappointment in person. Please be assured, we value all feedback and are extremely sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations.

The good: the captain and the guide were very professional and helpful.
The bad: because the boat never get closer than 500 meters (the law requires to stay at least 200meters away) to any animal you really cannot observe them. You just imagine them based on the little you can see.
It is a pity because the area has indeed wildlife but they are too far away to appreciate.
All the other tour boats were much closer than us but still away approx 200 meters.
    500meters versus 200meters makes a huge difference.
I believe that the decision of the tour company to stay so far away from the animals is a legitimate decision but it needs to be disclosed to their clients before making the booking (as the tour prices are quite high).

I am sorry to hear that you were not satisfied with your tour! We never want to hear guests going home disappointed. Respecting wildlife and following guidelines are of utmost importance to us, however we do generally have sightings of wildlife at a closer distance than 500 m. I would love to chat further with you regarding your specific tour! If you would like to let me know when and what tour you joined us on you can email me at taya@crww.ca

Went out yesterday just expecting an average whale tour where you get taken to specific spots and hope a whale shows up. We couldn’t have been more wrong! Tyler and Tristan took us out, explaining they have a network of whale watchers constantly updating with hotspots and sightings of whales and other animals. Because of this we saw a pod of Orcas (twice!), two black bears and a whole pack of sea lions. Such a fantastic experience, and couldn’t have gone out with two people more passionate about what they were doing. You could tell they truly loved their jobs, and the whale sightings were just as exciting for them as they were for us. Can’t recommend them enough and we’re definitely planning on returning for another one of their tours if we’re ever back in the area. Thanks for a great afternoon guys!

Thank you, we really appreciate you taking the time to write a review and for recommending our tours. It's true our team is 100% passionate about what they do and one of the few things that gives them more pleasure than finding and viewing whales and other marine wildlife is the look on our guests faces the first time they see whales in the wild! I will share your comments with Tyler and Tristan, who will be happy to know you had a great time on the water with them. Thank you, we look froward to welcoming you back when you are next in the area.

We were lucky enough to be on the morning August 22, 2020 tour and saw the young white orca dubbed Tl'uk, a word for moon in the language of the Salish peoples of the Pacific Northwest. Our guide, Robin, was great and maybe five minutes into the tour, he realized what we were seeing. He was as excited as the rest of us. We followed the pod within the required distance of 200m and the tour company shared their photos with the group afterwards. We saw at least 8 humpback whales, 6 of which were in pairs. We also saw a small group of sea lions sunning up on a rocky island.

Very pleasant tour. Robin's a great whale watching guide and captain. We are able to see sea lions, humpback whales (several sightings), seals and bald eagles. The cherry on top of our tour were the orcas (pod of 4 to 6 orcas).

Robin was a great guide and captain, polite and knowledgeable. Safety protocols were required and followed, including lots of space on the boat. We saw lots of humpbacks and sea lions, but the transient orcas avoided us. A lovely morning!

Robin was an excellent captain. He knows the area, he knows the whales and seems to have gained solid knowledge of their behaviors simply by observing. We found Orca and Humpback whales, as well as enjoying a marvelous 4 hours on the water. The boat was extremely comfortable for 10 people maximum. Safety procedures were explained concisely.
I would certainly go back and try a longer tour.

Highly recommended tour. We had a great day, left the harbour at 13:30 for a 4 hours whale watching tour. Tyler was our guide and he was so informative and helpful to all the guests. Saw lots of sea wildlife including sea lions, seals and the best a family of Orca including a new addition to the family. He was very respectful with the distance between us the whales....greatly appreciated. Will be back again....Thanks

Thanks for the high recommendation and your great review. It is always great to hear our guests enjoyed their time on the water with us as we strive to offer a first class experience while always being respectful of the wildlife we are viewing. The team in the office were very excited but slightly green with envy when we heard that you had seen one of the new additions to our known orcas families - such a special sighting! We look forward to welcoming you back soon.

The tour guides (Damien and Tyler) did an amazing job explaining what we could see and where we will be going before we left. During the excellent tour we saw bald eagles, orcas, white sided dolphins, seals, dall's porpoises and many more. The guides gave us a lot of information about not only the animals, but the geography of the area. We learned a lot and my young daughter had a great time. She was able to stay interested and asked a lot of questions throughout the four hour tour. They also did an excellent job driving the boat, nobody got seasick.

Thank you for booking with us and for your review. We love having families onboard with us and enjoy nothing more than seeing an interest in our marine wildlife being triggered by youngsters onboard. You were certainly treated in seeing so many different marine mammals including orcas while exploring the many Islands coastlines and channels of our beautiful coastal region. We look forward to welcoming you all back one day.

Captain John and first deckhand Holly were awesome company to make this tour with. They told us many stories and made us feel at ease immediately. We saw lots of humpback whales en even when the 4 hour tour was almost over, they brought us to a couple of killer whales. They have really gone the extra mile for us. It was incredible.
