About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Matthias_Silke0 contributionsWonderful day kayaking trip from Uculuet in Broken GroupWe did the one day tour in the Broken Group and were the only guests on that day, which was great for us - as some companies cancel not sufficiently booked trips. We had a wonderful day of paddling 24 km with our well experienced guide Joanne, in smooth conditions, sunny and the sea flat like a mirror, exploring much of the Broken Group. When combined with a taxi boat from Uculuet, the islands are a great day trip!Written October 2, 2024
- L3622WJjeffb0 contributionsCanada‘s Caribbean hidden gem!We timed the weather so perfectly and the experience beat our expectations! Thank you to Jeff and Christine for being amazing hosts/guides. Thank you Kevin for running an amazing business! Cheers from Victoria BCWritten September 16, 2024
- Navigator5608880 contributionsAmazing Scenery!Left the dock at 8:00 a.m. for a full day trip. Water taxi to Benson Island where kayaks were unloaded, we were equipped with gear and given instruction. Our guide, Eric, was very competent and made me feel comfortable throughout the trip. All the equipment(kayaks, PFD's, paddles etc.) were in good condition. Lunch was provided on the beach and was delicious. Eric was very friendly and knowledgeable giving us lots of history and details about the areas we visited. We also stopped at a couple of beaches to stretch our legs and see some interesting landmarks. We were picked up promptly at the set time at a small beach, kayaks and equipment were loaded back on the taxi and we were back at the dock in about a 1/2 hour. We felt safe and it was a great trip, highly recommend.Written September 7, 2024
- 904tjeerdh0 contributionsGreat 3-day guided trip with Jeff!We had an incredible 3-day guided kayak/camping trip around the Broken Group Islands led by our guide, the amazing Jeff, and we all loved it. A family of 4 with one 14 and one 11 year old, we loved exploring the islands for swims and picnics and wildlife. Setting up camp was part of the fun, and Jeff's incredible cooking felt like we had our own private butler! We would highly recomment this trip and Hello Nature.Written September 1, 2024
- BDM000010 contributionsBroken Islands with LisaMy two adult daughters and I just completed the 3-day Broken Islands tour. It was incredible, and exceeded all my expectations. A big part of this was thanks to our guide, Lisa, who was a great guide and a really nice person to spend our time with throughout the three days. We chose the Lodge option which I really, really liked. The wood fired hot tub with some wine and beer was a big hit after an awesome day of paddling. Lisa quickly figured out what we liked and guided us into some beautiful, peaceful channels including into the Pinkerton Islands. We saw a good amount of wildlife which was just a bonus for us. Thank you Lisa.Written August 17, 2024
- norwegiana20200 contributionsTruly Amazing Kayaking ExperienceI cannot express how much I enjoyed doing the 5 day Broken Group tour! We were a large scout group and Kevin and his team handled everything wonderfully. The put-in and take-out process was so streamlined, and our guides, Jono and Kristine, were PHENOMENAL!! They were so kind and helpful and were very knowledgeable of the area. The trip itself was very nicely laid out and provided a great experience of the islands. I highly recommend Hello nature and could not be more pleased with the quality of this trip.Written August 8, 2024
- julianhemming10 contributionsBeautiful BC Broken Islands guided tour by KayakOur guide, Nolan, took us on a spectacular tour of the Broken Islands by Kayak. We went not knowing what to expect and we got gorgeous scenery, whales and eagles and Nolan’s extensive knowledge of flora and fauna and camping. May is a great time to go!Written May 11, 2024
- 294tanisc0 contributionsWhale Migration 2 DayI had the best trip with Hello Nature, Easter Weekend during the herring spawn. Kevin was organized, communicated well had patients with all of my questions. I joined the group as a solo old lady and felt very welcome. Eric made us delicious food, shared lots of facts about sea-life and indigenous history. We saw Gray Whales, Orcas, a Sea Otter (which is a big deal!) Sea Lions, Sea creatures, a beautiful sunset and shared stories around an evening beach campfire. Our gear was immaculate, safe and if they had control over the weather they get 5 stars for that too. Perfect 2 day paddle. Highly recommend 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟Written April 16, 2024
- kayvee_1510 contributionsAwesome trip, especially for plus-sized outdoor enthusiasts! What an awesome weekend kayaking! We booked in for the herring spawn in the spring with Hello Nature, so of course weather could have gone either way, but we lucked out. Our tour guide Eric was fantastic; knowledgeable, funny and super attentive to everyone's needs and wants. One of the stand-outs of the company, for me, was the accessibility. I'm plus sized (5'8, women's size 18) and not only did they have everything in my size, it wasn't even a concern. There was no dithering, or pointing out anything, the kayak and gear were already the correct size when we arrived, it was just great. My best friend who is 6'4 had the same experience, everything was sized accordingly without any fuss. All the gear was in great shape, clearly well cared for and top of the line. Throughout the weekend the food was top notch, and it was obvious that a lot of care and consideration was put into each part of the trip. I would highly recommend the company to anyone, and especially to locals who might want to do a trip in the shoulder season when there is a ton of wildlife around.Written April 1, 2024
- Mollykkatyk0 contributionsSuper unique experience to opt out of the grindI took myself on a solo birthday trip. I wanted to do something active and a little brave. I had kayaked a few times in my life, but I definitely was not a "kayaker" when we started. I wasn't sure what to expect, and even still, the experience was amazing! The communication was clear beforehand. We were out with a small group (myself & 2 other couples.) Our guide was so knowledgeable about the area and history. He also cooked all our meals and each one was gourmet! Delicious! The camping set up was great too. I slept so well each night! I was also shocked at how much gear and luxuries fit in our kayaks.Written October 18, 2023

- 897AngelaS8970 contributionsAmazing trip through Broken IslandsDid a 3 day kayaking tour of the Broken Islands with 3 friends as part of 8 person group. Our guides, Kevin and Kristina were excellent. Both were very knowledgeable and eager to share stories and facts about the islands. They had a strong awareness of our impact on the environment and did whatever they could to minimize our carbon footprint. Throughout the trip they acknowledged the history of the First Nations in this area and demonstrated tremendous respect towards their culture. The food was amazing. We were provided with good quality gear. Would highly recommend touring with Hello Nature - for both the novice and experienced paddler.Written September 11, 2023
- ront6140 contributions5 Day Broken Group IslandsAmazing trip. Extremely well organized and outfitted. The guide was amazing and the food was absolutely delicious! We had sunny days and cloudy days and foggy days. The fog made it even more spectacular. One of the biggest highlights was seeing a humpback whale!Written September 11, 2023

I was the only person for the morning booking this tour, thus I was able asking lots and lots of questions.
Sam did a wundefull job taking the time explaining everything about the area and the different animals we saw (Seals, a blue heron, two black bears, Bald Eagles and various water birds).
It was a great tour and I recommend it highly to get a close view to all the water animals.
Loved it, besr wishes from Germany, Katharina

Even though we had little experience, my husband and I booked a kayak Harbour Tour with Hello Nature. Planning was easy through their website and Kevin, the owner, was always quick to get back to me by phone or email :) Emma, our guide, took great pleasure in sharing her knowledge, kept us safe and was attentive to everyone's needs. We had a wonderful time and highly recommend this activity.

While in Ucluelet at the start of November, I discovered the Hello Nature area when walking along the docks and opted to book a last minute tour of the harbour on one of my final days there. I couldn't have asked for a better time. Kevin was excellent in making sure I was able to get a trip in before leaving, and having a chance to paddle around the harbour and learn more about the area from the excellent guide (whose name I forgot, I'm so sorry, but she was excellent!!) really made the experience even better. I would absolutely book with them again next time I'm back as some of the other tours they offer sound really incredible, and getting a chance to do them with some locals who are familiar with the area and its history adds so much. I would definitely recommend them.

An inexperienced family group of 5 , we were carefully taken through the use of sea kayaks as opposed to usual kayaks we’d used without pedals by Sam . It was then out into the horbour and away across to spot some wildlife . Sam kept an eye on everyone , of course the teens boys powered away ahead and missed all the bits of local knowledge from Sam . No bears this beautiful am to feast on the hatchery salmon but several bald eagles and heron and a single seal .
Blissfully peaceful and beautiful.
Thoroughly recommend as a way to see nature up close and Sam and Kevin were very welcoming and knowledgeable. Definitely one to try

I booked and paid on the phone with Phil, he was a pleasure to deal with as always! Went with my teenage son with Guides Cali and Shannon. They were very professional, Covid protocols were practiced and I felt very safe and comfortable with them, masks, hand sanitizer and shield for our protection and theirs. The evening paddle was amazing as always, bears, seals, sea lions, eagles. Highly recommend, they have your best interests and safety in mind. Our first group Covid Paddle such a great night! Thank you ladies and Hello Nature!!!

We booked this trip days ago, and we’re really excited. But hello nature decided to shift it to an earlier trip without letting us know. Then we get a call 15minutes after the start of the earlier trip that we are to late. We drove 170km one way to do this trip and one hour before the booked trip will start we get the information that we were shifted and also to late. In the end it was cancelled and we drove 2 hours one way for nothing. Would never recommend this!!!
Thank you for nothing.

We are so sorry that we were unable to take you kayaking. Unfortunately the mistake was with VIATOR who has an issues with their inventory integration software. When you booked through them it signed you up for a 1 pm harbour tour but sent us a 9 am tour confirmation. We called and sent multiple messaged when you didn’t arrive at 9 am. This is when we realized that VIATOR had made a mistake, again. We schedule our day around the confirmation we receive which means we didn’t have any guides scheduled for a 1 pm. We have brought this issue up with VIATOR and will make sure they fix it before anyone else is disappointed. We hope that you had an amazing time in Ucluelet and the surrounding area. Please calm us to discuss further 250.726.2035

We did the kayak tour with our guide Emma who really made the trip and our 11 and 13 year old girls were hanging off every word she spoke, educating us about the local wildlife as well as the local people and culture. This was in addition to the wildlife we saw which was fairly limited at the start although we were very fortunate to see a great eagle show at the end with several bald headed eagles fighting over a fish! An experience we will never forget! The kayaking wasn’t too strenuous, we were a family of four in 2 double canoes. Big thank you to Emma for our great trip.

Did a harbour tour with our guide Jonathan. He was very friendly, approachable and knowledgeable. Although we are local, he was easily able to teach us some new things about the area and show us some neat spots that we had not seen or visited before.

About as simple an easy as it gets. Park at the marina, walk down the dock and off you go. Scenery was stunning, quality of gear was top notch. They even had the coolest little set-up designed to help you easily get in and out of the kayak. Sam was a terrific, personal guide and spent time pointing out wildlife and sharing her in-depth knowledge of the area. Truly enjoyed this excursion and would recommend. Will likely plan to come back and do a longer tour in the future.

Excellent value for money. Our knowledgeable guide educated us with local history as we paddled through the Ucluelet inlet. She scored 10/10 for wildlife sightings which included close ups of a king fisher, bald eagle, and sea lion which swam in front of us. We paddled across the inlet and watched a very healthy black bear flipping rocks for snacks as the salmon literally jumped out of the water near our kayaks. I was looking for a shorter introduction to the local waters without water taxi and this tour was perfect. I will try something more remote next time.
