About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- rubyt3580 contributionsDeepens your knowledge and appreciation for Whistler well beyond the frequented paths. An excellent overview of Whistler that expanded our appreciation of the area, and ways to enjoy it. It included Whistler's founding and history; the innovative way they make it livable for staff; hidden gems that locals frequent; and most fascinating--the Whistler Sliding Center--where we later watched a luge competition. Ryan was informative, engaging, and conducted the tour at the perfect pace. Highly recommend.Written December 2, 2024
- PhilipM7190 contributionsGreat site especially for walkers.Loved this site. Large pitches, immaculate facilities and great location. One of the most helpful receptions we’ve experience although I have to say they could do with being open longer as we had gone out before they open each day and were closed when we got back. 20 minute walk to Anstruther with a quaint harbour and selection of cheap and mid-range restaurants. Cellaredyke harbour closer and also pretty. 5 minutes to the sea front (steep steps) and coastal path. Buses 10 minutes walk which we used to walk back along the coast path. Lovely! Be aware if you walk back from Kingsbarn that the first couple of miles are along rocky beaches as the farmer and golf course don’t allow walkers. Very nice walk though.Written October 6, 2024

- aacgalhere0 contributionsWorth every pennyMy husband, daughter-in-law, 4 month old grandson, and I went on this tour while in Whistler. We all found it very informative and interesting. The tour guide was named Ryan and he did a wonderful job of explaining the history of the area as well as sharing his knowledge of the Village itself. He made accommodations for the stroller along the way and was welcoming to all the people on the tour making sure to personally visit with everyone. It was a great way to start our trip to the area, so that we could better plan our itineraries for the rest of our stay. I highly recommend this tour.Written October 2, 2023

Ryan is a personable and knowledgeable guide. The van was clean and comfortable, with convenient pick up and drop off. The 3 hour ride was filled with great historic details of the area and the resort, as well as recommendations for activities, restaurants, museums, and other tours. Bring your camera, as there are many stops along the way you will want to photograph. As a first-time visitor to British Columbia, I learned so much more about the area that enhanced our visit. A highlight was watching the public bobsleigh run--to the extent that my husband and I booked that activity ourselves later in the week. Thank you, Ryan!

I recommend this tour for anyone visiting Whistler and even more so for those with limited time (and budget). We only had an overnight visit and getting this tour package was the best decision as it gave us more than a snapshot of the place. That would not have been possible if we went around on our own. Ryan (our tour guide) gave tips on where to dine based on budget which we totally loved.

Had a great time on our tour ! Ryan , our tour guide , was really informative and knowledgeable. Found it very interesting learning about the history of Whistler and surrounding areas and really enjoyed the beautiful scenery . The highlight was going to where the bobsleighing Winter Olympics were held in 2010 and watching people have a go ! A rare opportunity . Would definitely recommend this tour for an easy , fun thing to do .

Tour was overall informative and a good way to see the local area in Whistler. However the tour felt very rushed - I arrived for 9am on the dot (as mentioned both on all the confirmation emails and ticket email), however I received multiple phone calls from Ryan asking where I was even before the hour.
When I arrived he said it 'clearly stated in the ticket so arrive 10 mins before'. I have since checked this thoroughly and there is absolutely no mention of this anywhere. This meant I had a very stressful start to the day which was disappointing and could not enjoy the tour fully. He even said 'dont worry, you aren't in trouble!' Which not only was unprofessional but frankly patronising as a paying customer.
Moreover, despite us starting on time (9am) Ryan seemed to rush through all the content and it felt very scripted. It sounded like he was reading it off a sheet. Moreover, I did not feel that he put effort in to really get to know our group. There were only 4 of us, so this would not have been difficult. It felt more like tick box exercise, driving us to each location, then quickly having us move on without putting in much thought or care into our experience. I was frankly quite disappointed as I had paid over ÂŁ60 for a 3 hour experience and the reviews seemed to be very good.
We did see some good views e.g. of the local lakes, however this could have been accessed by bus or taxi for a fraction of the cost.
I would have appreciated a more tailored, thoughtful approach, without the element of rushing people around when they are on vacation. As such, I would not recommend this service unfortunately.

Thank you for taking the time to review your experience and we appreciate that you mention it was overall informative and a good way to see the local area in Whistler. We’re sorry to hear you felt it was only worthy of two stars. We’ve since talked with our guide and he has assured us that he was not trying to make you feel rushed or patronized in any way. The call a few minutes prior was made as a courtesy in case you were having trouble finding the starting location(We ask all of our guides to do this when it’s getting close to departure times as it’s often helpful to people) and the comment, a light joke/ice breaker in an attempt to make you feel at ease as he walked you to over the shuttle. As for the tour feeling rushed/scripted, we agree that our tours do run fairly quickly and have a lot of info packed into them. The idea is to do a lot in 3 hours by covering Whistler’s sights/facts/history/happenings in hopes that guests walk away with a better idea of the area and loads of options of things to do next. We appreciate your comments on this matter and will be reviewing the pace and structure of this tour to better accommodate guests in the future.
We hope you have a great rest of your stay and hope to see you back in Whistler soon : )

We did this tour as a family of 4 on what was apparently one of the sloppiest days underfoot but it didn't stop us having a great time. Ryan's knowledge and manner were superb and by the end had confirmed our suspicions that we want to return to Whistler. Probably more than once. It was so good to get local information and not just the 'tourist blurb' and we would highly recommend friends and family take advantage of this expertise and professionalism.

We did the 3 hour tour with Ryan and loved it! He was a great guide and took us to some amazing sightseeing places for photos and views of the mountains/lakes. And tons of interesting history of Whistler then and now. Also, fun to see the Olympic bobsledding course. Ryan also provided some great recommendations. Would definitely recommend this tour to others.

This tour was exceptional! Our enthusiastic guide, Ryan Powell, made the trip remarkable with his stories and interesting tidbits of information about Whistler/Blackcomb. Ryan also went out of his way to accommodate the special transportation needs of several on our tour…a personal touch that was not expected. I believe the most beautiful of the places visited was Green Lake; the most interesting was the Olympic Bobsled Track; and the most delicious was Purebread Bakery in Function Junction. I would definitely recommend this tour and would suggest that you schedule early in your visit to take advantage of the information you receive on the tour…very worthwhile.

Although I had previously spent a week in Whistler, I realised I had not seen very much of it, so this tour was the answer!
Ryan took us to many places I hadn’t seen before and had so much of interest to share. He was a mine of information!
I particularly liked visiting the bobsleigh track and being able to see them speeding down the track. We also visited the beautiful Alta Lake, which was frozen.
A very welcome stop at Function Junction allowed us to visit Purebread. I can thoroughly recommend the salted caramel slice - delicious!
Ryan took each member of the group into consideration and made sure we all had a great time.

With in minutes of boarding the bus, the guide claimed that we would learn so much that we would know more than most locals do about Whistler. It is quite possible that we do. We were told of Whistler's rich history, and the visionaries who stedfastly built Whistler into the resort town that proudly hosted the 2010 Olympics along with the city of Vancouver. We saw the Alberta luge team members rip down the track at speeds our brains could barely process. Our tour guide, Ryan, was well versed in anything Whistler, and so as we drove from scenic site to scenic site, he told the fascinating story of how Whistler became Whistler. There were a two stops where we took in stunning mountain view, and another in Function Junction, where I enjoyed a craft beer. Others enjoyed the sites and tasty bakery delights. At the end of the tour, we were given a list of recommended things to do and of suggested restaurants to eat at. The tour is a must if you just have just arrived at Whistler and want to plan your trip. However, come to think about, whenever in your vacation you decide to book the tour, it is well worth adventure ... simply something you must do.

Hi, will there be a craft beer tour I could take my hubby on for his birthday on 13 June? We are coming from Australia on a family holiday along with our 5 year old and I will be staying at whistler for a couple of nights. My hubby is a “beer snob” and loves craft beers so would love to take him on a tour
