      Bad experience
No time set so had to finally give up waiting at pier and go with a city bus tour for another $35. I waited and kept asking at the street side at end of pier

      Cruise stopover in St. John
Professor Dewar was a great, witty guide with a dry funny sense of humor! He was very knowledgeable. We were happy with our experience!

The great Saint John NB Canada
I visited this great place first time to visit my daughter who started her job there a few weeks before. I and my wife traveled to more than 40 different countries and visited many many cities but saints John is the only place I love to stay. The people of this region are very friendly nice and angels. Really I never saw more than Saint John people friendly. They meet you with a great smile. All the respect to Saint John and it’s great people.

      Great tour
Our guide was very knowledgeable about local history. He knew many interesting tidbits about St. John in addition to the broader history of this part of Nova Scotia. Tour was well paced and highlighted interesting architecture in addition to a graveyard with inhabitants from centuries ago and a local market. Very pleased with the experience.

      Great tour
I highly recommend Art as a guide. He had so many stories to share and provided so much knowledge of the area. We had a great time on his tour.

      Very unique rock formations
We visited Hopewell Rocks on our way to St. John, New Brunswick. The tide was quite low like this picture shows, so we could go down to the ocean floor and walk among the rocks. During the morning the tide is high and people kayak on the waters among the rocks

Fantastic Car Tour by A Local Guide!
Mike was a fantastic guide with a wealth of knowledge about the area. He is a local, retired teacher & history buff who brought us to the beautiful "out of the way" places that truly made this a Hidden Gems tour! Loved the "secret" places we went to for lunch & smoked Salmon. Architectural designs & local history is his forte'! We will be coming back!

McAdam Train Station Museum and Dinner
The McAdam Train Museum is a blast from the past, fantastic recreation of days gone by. Dinner by the Lions Club Members and volunteers, served piping hot and generous servings. The skits were hilarious and of course we joined in as best we could. Came home happy but tired. Even watched a movie on the bus - Princess Diana's Last Days, played bingo (great prizes) and sang Christmas songs. Started out with strangers, were friends by the end.

Disorganized, horrible guide, and filthy, uncomfortable van
The company lost our reservation. Luckily we had the email confirmation to show them. They hustled to get another vehicle and driver for our party of 6. Although we booked a private tour of 6, we ended up sharing a vehicle with 6 others. We wound up in a “party” van that could only be considered clean or comfortable if one were drunk. The bathroom was even out of order on it. The tour guide was one of the nicest, yet worst guides ever. He tried really hard, but didn’t give us history, or interesting information along the route. We don’t know if he was a regular guide for them, or just someone they could get to fill in. And I hope they don’t normally use the party van.

      Countryside tour
We booked a New Brunswick Countryside with Wine Tasting tour using Freedom Tours through our cruise planner/agent. We had a group of six ladies and had a great tour. Our guide, Mike, was very knowledgeable and great to work with. He took us to the Reversing Falls in the morning then again on our way back to the ship so we could see the difference. We saw beautiful countryside on the way to the wine tasting with brief stops for pictures. The vineyard and wine tasting was interesting and enjoyable as well. Mike also picked a local restaurant for lunch which was also very good. Thanks Mike and Freedom Tours!

Amazing day...reversing falls worth the trip
Mike was our tour guide and was very informative and knowledgeable. Having been an educator and grew up in St John, he knew so very much history and made the day very enjoyable and interesting. We began our day in Old City Market for some local tea and artisan shopping. We saw the falls in the morning and again in the evening as they have reversed direction with the tide. We were amazed to see boats resting in the mud due to the tide being out then later in the day they were back floating as the tide was coming in Seeing tide rise 25' during the day is absolutely amazing. We enjoyed a wonderful lunch, viewed covered bridges, the original top of a light house and some members of our party went to the sea caves. We found wishing stones on the beach after lunch and learned about the various natural stones and coloration of granite on the beach.

      Nice tour
Art was a lifetime resident of St John and gave us a very thorough and personal tour. There were just five of us on the tour and he was very knowledgeable. We enjoyed our time with him.

      Walking Tour Lacking in Details
Finding our tour was easy and our tour guide was friendly and engaging. Unfortunately her depth of knowledge about most things in Saint John was limited. Knew the script and shared personal experiences but did not share a robust understanding about the architecture, unique culture, plant life, or detailed history. The majority of the tour was spent walking through a sad part of older Saint John where we saw house after house with no stories. The tour could have been much more entertaining had she shared stories of this lovely community. Loved walking around the older area of the city and would have enjoyed spending more time there instead of the rest of the walk. First hour was okay. If you want an in depth knowledge of Saint John, this is probably not the best tour for you. Also, our group was easily able to navigate the hills, others might reconsider a walking tour.

Very nice tour operator and staff, they were wonderful. However, the tour would have been a lot better if it only went to St Martin's Sea Caves and Reversing Rapids. 1 hour was definitely not enough time to get lunch and explore the sea cave, and time was spent at other stops (eg Irving Park, the Tower under construction) which was unnecessary. For the tower, it would have been better to tell the history of that site while driving as there was nothing to see and we didn't get out of the bus since it was under construction. The Sea Caves are a UNESCO site, spend more time there. By the time we bought lunch (which was delicious), we had to get back on the bus and leave. A nice tour, but it could be much better if not focus was on the quality vs the quantity. I did appreciate the tour operators. The bus was okay but the seats could have been cleaner (eg use a fabric brush to remove hair).

Boarded our bus and went to where St John River and the Bay of Fundy
meet to see the Reversing Falls. Low tide 0927 and high tide 1514
with a rise of 28-feet expected today.
St John River is 500-miles long and starts in Maine. Foam in the water here
from a drop of soap Moose Head Brewery uses to wash each bottle before filling.
New Brunswick Province is 85% forested with 33 species of trees, mostly
evergreen. Very little topsoil. Glaciers covered the area until 12,000 years ago.
Visited St Martin’s. Old, covered bridge was 2 x 10’s. New one is 1 x 6’s. Bow of work boats rests on cradle when tide out. Lobster fishing is two seasons.
Stopped at Cave View Restaurant. Caves cut out by wave action. Long
way out to water at noon, halfway between low & high tides. Look for stones with white rings.
Visited City Market, established 1872. It survived a major fire in this area
that took out all the old wooden buildings.
Back to the Reversing Falls at 1345 to see the seawater flowing in. Fisherman after striped bass. Cormorants feeding. Sometimes see seals here, not today. High tide 1514.

Our guide Freydom was fabulous! He is a font of knowledge about everything Saint John! He patiently answered all our questions and anticipated what else we would want to know. He drove us around town and explained all about the red brick buildings. We went to the highest 360 degree overlook of the area, then down to where the river was rushing out because the tide was down. He took us back at the end of our tour to see how the river changed as the tide rose. He explained it all! We also drove toward St Martin, stopping at the lobster docks and saw how low the water was. Boats were sitting on the ground. By the time we left the area, the boats were floating. In St Martin we went to lunch at a lovely diner that was obviously more a local place than one for tourists. We walked the pebble beach and saw the tide rising as well as the caves carved out by the power of the sea. This tour was one of the best of our trip, a bit pricey but well worth it - Thanks to Freydom!

The pick up place is outside far from the other bus , took us a while to find it . The day was cold and rain all the way back . Long trip . On fundy bay, there is only one restourant and many buses , and the prices are expensive , the line is long . the guide is good , but could not see the reversing rapids

Trying to go on this tour on a specific date in October. I've booked this tour three different times and they have cancelled each time without explanation. And the date still shows as an available date for the tour. Not sure why they haven't removed the date if they are going to cancel.

Greg and Randy were wonderful and showed us around St John and the Bay of Fundy. The highlight was definitely the sea caves at St Martin and that stop alone made the excursion worthwhile. Freedom tours was well organized and had many signs leading us from the cruise ship terminal to the bus (you only had to cross the road). Highly recommended!

Bus was nice. Driver and guide pleasant. We were on time getting back to Saint John. We spent most of the time driving down wooded highways not able to see the coast. Guide needs to improve on his delivery. The Fundy shore consisted of two stops in small bays, one for a bathroom break and the other for lunch. No quaint towns on this tour.

My wife and I enjoyed the trip. It was a long drive but the tour guide entertained us with fun facts and history. The highlight of the tour was the reversing falls. We made a trip in the beginning to see how it was calm and after when it was roaring rapids. There was places in St. Martins that were beautiful like the village and Vaughan creek bridge as well as the caves and stream. Also the seafood chowder was good at the Caves restaurant.

Abdul was a fantastic guide! He was very knowledgeable about St John history. What I liked most about the tour was he was able to take us to off the beaten path stops a large bus could not get to. Very accomodating: very evident he loved his job!

Took this tour through Costco Shore Excurstions...I will say Keith our guide was very likeable and knowledgeable. However, the tour is quite long and no snacks provided. It is only about 5 min to the reversing rapids, then you are dropped off at a crowded market down town, then long drive to St Martin's where you are left for an hour, jam packed with many buses loaded with people all trying to get lunch at two small restaurants. The Seaside restaurant that we went to had long line at cash register when we arrived, and no one said hello, or told us to seat ourselves...we were all trying to figure out if we ordered at the register or sat down...it appeared only 1 or 2 servers for the whole group. If I were to do it again, I would just get a taxi to the reversing rapids at high tide and then go back for low tide since it was so close. Several falling asleep on the long bus ride to the caves and back. We couldn't wait to get back on the ship, as we decided not to eat at St Martin's due to the crowd and poor service.
