About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- deborahdW8262PG0 contributionsVery Long Daywe came off the cruise ship to mass confusion! a bus had broken down and many had been cancelled. Apparently they were trying to rearrange people but still about 45 minutes of uncertaintly and confusion. The bus is a school bus type vehicle. a bit rough if you are in the back. It was quite cold the day we went, Our guide was Fast Eddie, who was a wealth of information but never stapped talking for almost 8 hours!! We had a tour of New Brunswick and it was very complete, including the water tower and public housing projects, even the densit office and COSCO! we spent alot of time looking at this kind of thing and ended up almost 2 hours late returning to the ship. The worst part was we were too late to see the reversing falls because it was well past sunset. We should have spent less time in the park and looking at geese and this would not have happened. That said, Eddie did bring rubber boots and took us across the bay to the caves which was really nice. again, some people went that took forever to return, another cause of the late return. better time management would have made this a great tour, unfortunaly by the time we got back to the boat we were cranky and tired.Written October 29, 2024

- MHCHENWU0 contributionsExcellent tourSteady Eddie, our tour guide, put 200% efforts to show us beautiful Bay of Fundy. He prepared long boots for us to cross the water at Seacave of St. Martin. We had a great time.Written October 19, 2024

- 63richn0 contributionsBuy the ship tour and stay away from the Viator tour.We were told to meet no later than one hour after the ship docked (we were on the Enchanted Princess.) Our group, which included six of us, were out on the street at the Viator meeting place at 7:30 AM after the ship docked at 7:00 AM and there was no one to meet us. A number of other guests were also out looking for our tour. We found Viator eventually across the street with no identifying signage. We were told that we were early(?) and that our bus had not arrived yet and to wait on another bus, until our bus arrived. Our tour guide, Trina, was also on this bus and befuddled, as where we were to meet. The bus driver, Happy, along with another man, who we believe was the owner, had the hood of the bus open and he was showing Happy how to start the bus. WE THOUGHT THEY WERE KIDDING, when they spoke about needing to give the bus CPR! This was Happy's very first time doing this tour. The bus left at 8:45 AM, because the owner said they were waiting for other guests. We never got on another bus and all of us traveled on this full bus. They drove past the first spot, where we were to view the tides by the Irving paper mill and had to turn around to get there. We missed the next intended destination, because the driver took a wrong turn, however we overheard the tour guide give directions, which were ignored. On arrival to the wharf, our tour guide, Trina, discovered it was closed after we drove down to the water and saw construction trucks. There was no room for the bus, as it was too long, to turn around! Happy had to back the bus up the narrow road 1/4 of a mile with guidance from those on board. He pulled into a private, wide steep driveway to turn around, which turned out to be newly paved. The bottom of the bus scraped and pulled the bumper partially off. Tire marks were left He was completely befuddled on how to pull forward enough to enable him to back down and turn around. The owner of the home came out furious stating this was a private home and that the wharf had been closed for a year, which the tour guide and the owner of the tour agency should have known. All the tour guests had too get out of the bus to decrease the weight. The guests had to guide Happy to back down the driveway on a number of attempts. When we got to the next destination, which was an opportunity to get to the bathroom our tour guide stated "she thought they would be open"? thankfully they were! Once we got to the Cave, the tour guide never came out to explain what we were seeing. She gave no information on the best way to approach the cave. Her only direction was to get lunch before the other busses got there! On the way to the lighthouse they took a wrong turn down a dirt road and over a temporary bridge. When they discovered the mistake, they turned around and went back the right way, once again wasting our tour time. When it was time to leave the light house, the bus would not start. Happy pumped the gas, etc. to no avail, opened the hood and was unable to start the bus, as he was shown before we started the tour. He tried repeatedly with the help of onlookers and tour people. This took away significantly from the tour we intended to see, wasting our time again to get to get to see the reversing tides. This was our ultimate goal. Ultimately the owner of the tour company arrived and after repeated attempts the bus was "revived" the guests expressed their feelings of relief and anxiety, stating that they did not have any faith in it's ability to get us back to the ship on time, if it were to stop once again. This bus obviously was in no condition to take this group on a tour from the get go. A number of the guests tried to help, but to no avail. Many of us (ourselves included) were on our phones trying to get a signal to call for a taxi or ride share but we were unable to get any service from a local tower. The owner of the company arrived in a car and after repeated attempts got it to start and stalled, but eventually started and made it up the hill to the cheers of our helpful onlookers. We were all anxious about making it back to the ship in time at this point. All but two of the tour guests told the guide that they no longer had confidence, that the bus would be able to successfully complete the tour and get us back to the ship on time. The air conditioning on the bus was not working and only blowing hot air. Happy was unable to latch the emergency hatch on top of the bus, when people near it complained that it was rattling and making so much noise that they couldn't hear Trina, the guide, speaking. He pulled over on the highway emergency lane rather than off an exit to try and fix it, but was unsuccessful in the attempts. The tour produced significant stress on the possibility of missing our cruise ship, not once but on two separate occasions. The tour operator knew his bus was not working properly, yet allowed it to be driven anyway! In addition he had a driver operating this vehicle, who was unfamiliar with the route. The tour operator did not stay on top of conditions of the tour or notify the tour guide of such: (roads that were unusable for a year, routes to travel, current conditions and a detailed plan to reach the sights designated in the tour description.) The safety factor is of utmost concern. We all ended up ok, but there were many times we wondered, as we experienced each and every problem, if that would be the case. The tour operator did not safely provide for this tour, as contracted for. By allowing this bus to take us to St. Martins, etc, knowing full-well that it was not capable, is unconscionable. As a result, our tour was interrupted repeatedly, causing for much wasted time, and not enough time to complete the full tour as described. We are currently requesting a refund which was initially denied by Viator. We persisted and only given 10% back.Written October 15, 2024

- alanlevans400 contributionsFundy bay cavesJust 8 of us, so plenty room in the minibus. Abdul was an excellent driver with great local knowledge and a good sense of humour. Took us around the town then to the reversing falls, rapids flowing out to sea at this time. Next called at Moosehead brewery (saw their stuffed moose). Onwards to Fundy bay to St Martin caves. Abdul had a couple of pairs of wellies , he's adventurous and encouraged a visit of the furthest, biggest cave. Lovely lunch next, then a call at St Martin shops. We then went via Rockwood park back to the reversing falls to see them stop and reverse. He dropped us, as requested at Moosehead brewery. A great tour, highly recommendedWritten October 12, 2024
- brucedevney0 contributionsExcellent Entertaining Local GuideSteady Eddie is the Man. We had an excellent tour led by a very committed local guide. Eddie provided the best locations for sightseeing and pictures and put other guide to shame at the caves. While other tours had to take pictures of the caves from afar, Eddie provided rubber boots and helped all the guests across a small stream so we could go inside the caves. No other guides were doing this. In addition to this, Eddie provided lively commentary that was sometimes highly informative, sometimes funny and sometimes just silly. If you want to actually experience the caves on this tour, you need to ask for Steady Eddie.Written October 10, 2024
- shawnam8700 contributionsBest thing to do from Saint Johns Bay port!!Starting with Abdul who rescued me from a not having booked the correct tour and took me aboard. The sights were incredible, and tour guide was so friendly and informative. From the reversing falls to lighthouse, cliffs, caves! Spectacular views and a great trip for all ages and health abilities. The bus ride was smooth and comfortable. Abdul would pull over for the best pictures and knew the best spots so no worries where you sat on the bus! I would do the tour again tomorrow if I was going to be in town another day!! I highly recommend it!! Thank you, Abdul for making my day so special!!Written October 10, 2024
- X3845UVmarinaz0 contributionsBay of Fundy tour in OctoberWe were extremely disappointed with the tour. It lasted 7 hours instead of advertised 5-6 without visiting some of the advertised points of interest , eg market. No time was left to explore the port. We visited places that were not at all of interest , and could be easily skipped. The bus was very old, shabby , seats were extremely uncomfortable, ie we could feel every bump on the road . We had a very talkative driver without pause, which is a personal preference, but for us was too much tangential information. It was tiring and unpleasant experience. Bay of Fundy is a beautiful place and could really be enjoyable with a different driver and comfortable transportation.Written October 9, 2024
- 564gilaw0 contributionsGreat tour with the BEST EVER guideSteve was not just a marvellous, knowledgeable guide but has the most captivating personality with brilliant humour! The tour of the reverse , rapids, Fundt Bay and lots of other stops was one of the best and certainly the MOST entertaining and fun out of all our 12 tours on the cruise. Shore Tours was great and did all they could to find 10 people who didn't come and didn't bother to notify. Eugenia and JacobWritten October 7, 2024

- 953grahamm0 contributionsSome joining confusion...then a very nice tripThere was some confusion as to the start time as there was instructions on the website or our ticket. Eventually we had a reply to messages sent to the tour company On the day Abdullah (the owner) was stood right outside the Port exit with a "Shore Tours" sign. The bus was ok and the onboard guide Cher was informative and amusing throughout. The two of them made a good pair and really knew everything about St John and the riptide. We got back to our ship on time. A few people were dropped off at the market for some last minute shopping. In all a very enjoyable day hosted by two very nice people. Would have loved to have given 5 stars but for the joining confusion.Written October 2, 2024

- GrandTour269781587770 contributionsGreat tour for first time to Port Saint JoeThe tour was excellent and should write a five however the bus broke down and we were required to exit the rear of the bus several times. They were very conscientious about it and had a mechanic come out see if it could be fixed ultimately changed to a new bus. The driver was excellent. The scenery was gorgeous. Driver took the time to take us to reversing Falls twice so we could see it going in and coming out. It was a great day. Would highly recommend the trip.Written September 16, 2024

As a travel advisor, I can honestly say I would have been horrified if I would have booked this tour for a client. It was a classic bait and switch. My concerns began the day prior to our tour as a meeting time had not been arranged. I tried many times to reach this tour operator via text and whatsapp only to receive no reply. We finally heard back the at 8am the morning of the tour stating only "we are outside". Our tour guide spoke poor English and had zero knowledge of the places that we visited. He was nothing more than a taxi driver that this company hired for the day. We did visit (ALMOST) all of the sites that are listed for this tour, but the driver knew nothing about the places that we visited, nor did he have any knowledge of the general area. There were also safety concerns about the vehicle, namely non-functional seat belts. For the cost of this tour, I cannot recommend this company.

My family and I had a great time with our guide, Abdul (who is also an amazing individual). We chose the “Lite” version of the tour, as we had two young children and two elderly members in our group, but Abdul was able to fill our time with incredible scenic views and interesting knowledge about Saint John and Saint Martins. Extremely courteous and professional. I recommend them without hesitation!

Steady Eddy( Edgar) was our guide. He managed our timetable very well and we got to see the impact of the high and low tide. We saw lovely old homes, caves , reversible falls and heard many local stories. The four of us had a very nice day . We were not pushed to walk too far which we as seniors appreciated.
Well done tour.

We arrived on the Enchanted Princess cruise ship. Our tour time was 8am to 8pm. As all the people on the tour were from the ship, we should all have been given the same time, say 10 am. Having found our tour we had to wait for the last people to arrive. It was very foggy.
Our driver and guide was Steve. He is really funny. He would say things like, “look to your left to see the 4 churches of Saint John.” We’d look to our left to see only fog!
We stopped for lunch adjacent to caves, and a restaurant serving the most amazing chowder.
As the day progressed the fog lifted and we had an enjoyable trip. Not only is Steve knowledgeable, he made the trip. Everybody warmed to him.

Our tour guide, Maila, was phenomenal! Our group of six was treated to an exceptional day with her. We were able to visit sites ahead of big tour buses..and go to some places that the big buses cannot go.

We were on a cruise porting in to St. John and met Steve by happens chance getting off the boat. We debated going on the tour but by the end of the day, we were so glad we did. Steve showed us the most extraordinary views of the Bay of Fundy in areas I’m certain only a very small number of tourists from a cruise get to see. Steve was fun, informative, and engaging and made our stop in St. John very memorable. If you get an opportunity to take a tour with Steve, take it…better yet, book the tour with him in advance

Our tour guide was Steve. He was a funny, fantastic, crazy guy!! Surprised us at each stop! (not going to spoil what he did, you will have to find our for yourself!!) But it definitely added to our experience!
Our mini bus had a little mechanical trouble half way through our tour. Abdul, the owner quickly resolved the issue, by sending his mechanics and a mini van for us to complete our tour in.

Our guide Maila, toured the 6 of us in a comfortable van. She made us feel more like guests than tourists. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. Because we were a small group, she was able to make more stops. Because of Maila, our group decided this was the best experience we had on our weeklong trip. We highly recommend this tour. You'll be lucky to get Maila as a guide.

Abdul and his assistant great! Very informative and took the time to explain the views, history, and attractions to us. Loved the speaker system on the van so we all could hear the explanations. Very accommodating. We came to St John by cruise ship. And he was by the port waiting for us. Highly recommend them!
