What an amazing experience! If you get Abigail as your tour guide, you won the game of Harbor Hopper. She was hysterical and very informative. Oh, before I forget, “Hi Abigail’s mom.” The harbor was beautiful, and we enjoyed the tour from beginning to end. We even got a history lesson on the Halifax explosion of 1917, which I never heard of, but have already told half a dozen people about. I strongly recommend booking in advance as people on our cruise ship said it was sold out a few days before. I read reviews that said it is a pricey tour, but I think $50 per person is more than fair, especially if all the tour guides are as good as Abigail.

Highly recommend this tour - the first mate (Matt) was very entertaining and extremely knowledgeable. Learned a lot about Halifax while we we were enroute via the land and ocean! I would strongly suggest that all visitors to this lovely city should add this as a “must do” to their itineraries.

This was such a fun and interesting tour! The guides were very good at engaging and keeping you entertained while also teaching you tons of fun facts about the city and good places to explore. Highly recommend for the first day in Halifax so you can spend the following days doing all the things you learned about. Ride is a little bumpy but the driver was slow and careful as possible and even my older mother with back problems did just fine.

What an amazing way to see the city and learn all about it’s history. The mix of land and water tour made it especially unique. Our driver did an amazing job in some very tight situations and our tour guide told funny jokes to make it fun! I highly recommend this tour!

This was interesting, informative and fun. A lot of good information was told buy our tour guide, but the highlight of the tour was "hitting" the water. If you are traveling with children, I recommend sitting a few rows in front of them and across the isle so you can take a picture of their expression when this ride goes into the water.

Our family had a great time on our tour. The tour guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and entertaining, and the captain had surprisingly detailed knowledge of the military docks and the ships that were moored.
The trip was fun (and an hour passed surprisingly quickly) and we would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a unique way to learn more about the history of downtown Halifax and the harbour.

This tour was beyond great! The amphibious bus itself is really cool, and fun to be in. Travelling around the city and on water was very enjoyable and informative, hearing all the interesting stories about Halifax.
Saige, the tour guide, was a fun, knowledgeable narrator; Rachel, the Harbor Hopper captain – a great operator;
The whole experience was awesome, definitely worth it. Highly recommend it!

This duck boat tour was perfect - gave us a land tour through the city and all the historical sites. Then moved into the harbor water and gave us more historical info as we moved through the harbor. The tour guide was a college student and very informative. Would recommend!

This was a really neat way to see Halifax, especially the Harbour. Our host Katie was awesome, she did a really good job of pointing out different landmarks around the city. Also kudos to the captain, as it cannot be easy to navigate the narrow streets of Halifax in a vehicle that large. Highly recommend this tour.

I went on the hopper tour Thursday with my daughter and granddaughter and had a wonderful experience! Abigail, our guide, was very informative as well as funny! And extremely important at this time was that covid protocols were enforced (masks, distancing in line ups and plexiglass between seats). We watched as they hosed down (sanitized) the seats and railings, etc. before we boarded. Fun and still safe!! :)

Have the covid restrictions changed since Canada has recently changed the policy?

They state on their website that they follow the COVID rules as required in Nova Scotia and links the website NS COVID rules.
I went in the tour this summer and there were no requirements for masks or proof of vaccination, so I can only assume it's the same, especially where you said the travel requirements have changed.
Hopefully you book this excursion. It's really fun!

I am not sure! A lot of places close from the tourist season in late September (which is a bummer with that foliage!). Maybe send them an email or call to ask?

I think the weather of the day should be taken into consideration. If it is cloudy/overcast/potentially chilly, then going during the day is a better option. If it is very bright, hot and sunny, the evening may be a better choice to avoid the possible sunburn, and hopefully get a beautiful sunset photo while near the water.

Hi, I am really sorry not to have a straightforward answer but I would suggest you email or phone them, my feeling is that they would be as helpful as possible to make it happen with a bit of notice. It wasn't an obviously wheelchair accessible trip based on the nature of the vehicles they have reconfigured but with such nice people it's got to be worth a call. Very best of luck.

I'm afraid the Harbour Hopper only tours the city and harbour, I had to go to the Citadel itself to watch the cannon fired, spent hours there though, worth a half day seeing everything. Have fun.
