About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- KarinE15960 contributionsEmre was the best!We had an amazing afternoon with Emre! He was gracious and fun and the conversation just flowed. It was the most wonderful thing to do on a cold winter day to have a delicious bowl of chowder. The spacing of the restaurants, the variety of the food and most importantly the company and conversations were fabulous.Written January 18, 2025
- O7074JJcarolep0 contributionsPeggy's Cove Rocks! (Pun intended)The rocks at Peggy's cove were stunning. They spoke to the Geologist in me. (Amateur, you understand) the tour guide was both super knowledgeable and personable.Written December 4, 2024

- annamariag4840 contributionsGreat Itinerary, But Timing and Distractions Diminished the ExperienceI wanted to enjoy this tour, and our guide truly did his best to make it worthwhile, but two main issues held me back from giving a glowing review. First, our guide was delayed due to traffic, which unfortunately impacted the timing of our entire itinerary. By the time we reached Peggy's Cove, we encountered large crowds from two other bus groups. I had to wait in a long line for the restroom, and there was no time to grab a bite to eat. Later, we arrived at the Titanic gravesite just before sunset, which felt rushed. Additionally, an older woman sitting next to the guide turned the experience into her own personal tour. She continuously asked questions, leaving little opportunity for the rest of us to engage with the guide. The tour’s itinerary itself was excellent, and we managed to see everything we had hoped to. However, I feel like we missed out on a fuller experience due to these setbacks.Written November 3, 2024

- debracX2984VI0 contributionsBeautiful way to experience Halifax! The tour was a beautiful experience to add to cruise memories. The drive through the city was wonderful and relaxing with a detailed narrative from our talented guide Nilah. We arrived at Peggy’s Cove just in time to see the sunset and take some pictures before a delicious lobster dinner. Our guide was knowledgeable and accommodating to our schedule which made it a flawless experience. I would highly recommend the small group tour over a larger bus tour.Written October 20, 2024
- craigkrisc0 contributionsGreat tour!Jack was a great guide. Very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. He shared a lot of information on the speedy drive to Peggy's Cove. This gave us a little extra time to see the sights. Then to the Cemetery to remember victims of the Titanic, then quickly to the Citadel in time for the noon cannon and changing of the guard. He gave a quick tour and then gave time for exploring. He was extremely friendly and helpful.Written October 16, 2024

- 780pamelay0 contributionsA very full and pleasurable dayOur guide met us outside the cruise ship terminal, not hard to find at all. He had a sign that matched the email they sent me the day before to advise details. It was a nice 7 seater van plus the driver- we were full. Went to Peggy Cove first- he gave us a running commentary on history and so many things all morning long. Had time to look around and take pics of the lighthouse etc. I was late and he came to find me :-). Then went to Titanic cemetery and he walked with us and was a wealth of info. Then to Citadel- he gave us time there. Several of us asked to be dropped off down by the wharf and I wanted to eat another Lobster Roll and then walk the Maritime Museum which is a great deal for $10!Written October 7, 2024
- mezzopiano620 contributionsDisappointing rushed dayIt was my adult nephews birthday and I am visiting from Ontario and neither of us have toured nova scotia before. I booked this a week in advance and then I had a 7pm dinner reservation after. We should have had plenty of time. We drove from Sackville NB to halifax. Our pickup time was 1:30 for our 4 hr tour. He wasn't there. I had to change our dinner reservation because clearly we were not going to be on time to get to our hotel, check in and then get ready. 1:30 turned into, "I'll be there at 2pm. To I'll be there 2:15pm to I'll be there at 2:30pm. Shortly after he showed up. Apologizing. Then we had to pickup another couple from a cruise ship. It was a rushed tour we had 20min at the Citadel only. No time for a tour. Dropped off. Just enough time to take pictures and read everything later. Then driving through the traffic to get to the Titanic graveside. That was sad but interesting. Then shuffled off to Peggy's Cove. Only 40 minutes to go to the shops enjoy the scenery and then back on board to take us back to halifax. At no time was a discount offered anything. This was an extremely disappointing tour. We arrived back at the pickup point the westin hotel at 6:40pm. We had to drive to our hotel 23 min away and then we had to checkin, get ready and rush back to downtown Halifax. All and all it was supposed to be a day of pleasant, but it was a day of stess.Written September 26, 2024

- terrygR5132EG0 contributionsInformative but limitedGuide was excellent. A bit misleading, however. Assumed a walking tour would cover more sites along the way. In fact this was a 2-site only walking tour. Having a guide in the Maritime Museum was not really value added.Written September 20, 2024
- cjandjo0 contributionsExcellent itinerary and very good guideThor was an excellent guide. Chatty, knowlegeable and engaging. Would recommend this guide. A bit late picking us up - we didn't realise that this was not a private tour so he had a couple of pickups to do before he got to our hotel. Not a big problem - just unexpected. Good journey with plenty of stops and interest. We had the lobster roll. It was very good. Unfortunately the restaurant wasn't expecting us (6 of us) and so 4 of our party left to find food elsewhere. Slight problem re paying the bill - I had expected Thor to come to the restaurant after parking the car but we had to phone him. Plenty of time to explore Lunenburg. Walked up to the academy, visited the museum and Blue Nose 2. It was VERY hot that day. Treated ourselves to an icecream! I would have given 5 stars except for the mess up at the restaurant.Written September 17, 2024

My husband and I had an absolute blast, thanks to Andrew, who was our tour guide and driver. Andrew is a true local GEM! He was very knowledgeable of the area, had interesting stories and also recommended places and activities to check out on our trip. He was so easy to talk to and we appreciated his humour and enthusiasm. Communication was easy prior to tour, along with morning of tour. Drive to Peggy's Cove is scenic. On this tour you will have time to check out what Peggy's Cove has to offer; beautiful natural sights, Tom's Lobster Shack and the various art and local shops. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone it definitely beats taking the traditional big bus tours. Thank you Andrew and See Sight Tours!

My friend and I booked this tour as the length of time we had was perfect to get out of Halifax and see the coast. The tour got off to a shaky start though as I was notified the evening before that they would no longer pick me up at my hotel as they previously had agreed, but that I would need to transport myself to the Westin Hotel downtown early in the morning which added cost for an Uber. Additionally our guide did not show at the posted time and was a half hour late. Out guide, Thor, apologized he overslept and we were glad to be on our way. He was very personable and knowledgeable about the area. The van was nice as well and plenty of room. We took the long way to Peggy's Cove for a more scenic drive and stopped a few times, once at a nice beach for pics and then again at a lobster packaging place called Ryer Lobsters LTD. The man there was so nice and explained his business to us and we found out you can actually purchase live lobster there and they package it for you to take on your aircraft home! He even showed us various live lobsters of different sizes including a giant named Rob :). Great place to go if you want to take home fresh lobster. We then were dropped off in Peggy's Cove and had a little time to walk around the town which is quite small so it was a good amount of time. The lighthouse was beautiful and I would highly recommend stopping at Tom's Lobster Shack for a lobster roll - it was amazing! From there we headed back to Halifax and heard more from Thor about the area. He also volunteered to drop us off anywhere downtown so we chose the waterfront area where we could grab a drink. Overall, this was a great tour lasting about 3.5 hours and I would highly recommend.

We were promptly picked up on time at our hotel by our guide William. He drove us through Halifax and onto Peggy’s Cove all along giving us local history and tidbits about life in Halifax and Peggy’s Cove. Once in Peggy’s Cove we were dropped off and given ample to to discover this beautiful fishing village and were picked up on time as promised. The tour was well worth it and would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see Peggy’s Cove.

It seems that the experience of this tour is highly dependent on the tour guide you receive. Unfortunately, our tour guide was not good. He took the "scenic route" to Peggy's Cove - without informing or asking us if that is what we wanted - which resulted in the drive to Peggy's Cove taking over 2 hours. Though the scenery was lovely, this was not what was advertised and wasted the time we could have had at Peggy's Cove. As a result, we were only provided 45 minutes to explore Peggy's Cove which meant we did not have time to walk through the town or visit shops.
Additionally, our tour guide seemed more interested in talking about himself and his opinions than providing us with any information on Halifax or it's history. The little information he did provide had to be asked for and proved not to be entirely accurate when we looked it up later. Some of his commentary was also mildly racist in its undertone and his driving made all of us very uneasy.
Overall, not the experience we had thought we were booking.

NOTE: I’m giving the See Site tour office 1 star and EVAN our tour guide 5 stars. That averages 3 stars. We booked in July for Sept. We chose an 11 am departure time to ensure we had time from the cruise ship docking. Subsequent to booking we received an email asking to change our time. Since our cruise ship didn’t dock until 10 and would allow us to leave the ship at 10:30, we chose noon. See Site confirmed a noon tour by email. A day before docking in Halifax we received an email from See Site to be in the Pier 21 parking lot at 9:50 for a 10 am tour. Tough to do that as per the docking time above. After a couple calls to See Site with lots of frustration and no resolution, we were offered a refund. I would not accept a refund as we really wanted to see Peggy’s Cove. After waiting for another call back from See Site, I received a call from Moe, one of the tour guides who was going to do everything he could to get us to Peggy’s Cove. Then subsequent to that call I received a call from tour guide Evan who said he was going to get us there with 2 other couples, Leaving at 11 am. We met Evan at Pier 21 and the next few hours were excellent. Evan is an amazing tour guide and told us so many interesting stories. I would recommend Evan to anyone contemplating this tour. Evan was able to take the bad experience with the booking and make it an enjoyable time.

The first thing that should be noted is that See Sight Tours does NOT do tours. They are a shuttle service only that makes some commentary during the hour drive to and from Peggy's Cove. But that's where the service ends. They drop you off at the lighthouse and then leave you there alone for 2 hours, as they shuttle another group back to Halifax.
Our personal experience, they had myself and my mobility impaired wife walk more than a half mile from the cruise terminal looking for them, as they had sent us the wrong pickup address.
Also, they do NOT practice social distancing and do not wear masks or have people in the mini van wear masks, though they advertise they do this. The mini van was instead crowded shoulder to shoulder with 8 people and no open windows for appropriate ventilation. And 8 adults in a mini-van is at least 2 people too many. My wife was in the center seat of the second row of the van and had to hang on to the cross-body part of the seat belt to brace herself and prevent the belt from cutting her across the neck.

My partner booked a trip to Peggy's Cove with this travel agency. The guide was waiting for us with a car in front of our hotel a few minutes before the appointed time. Then we picked up two other tourists outside their hotel and headed to Peggy's Cove.
Our guide was William, a young student from Texas. He knew a lot about Halifax and the history of Peggy's Cove and on the way there and back he told us with great enthusiasm about Halifax and how Peggy's Cove got its name, about the life of the fishermen or about the tragedy of the Swiss plane.
He dropped us off at Peggy's Cove so we could enjoy our visit at our own way, and he came back at the exact time he promissed to drive us back to Halifax.
It was a pleasant journey and our experience with Peggy's Cove Express Small Group from Halifax was great.

This tour was definitely the best tour I ever had, I would like to recommend this tour to everyone, especially to the geology lovers. I was the only passenger in this tour, surprisingly the tour is still going that there is only one guest, cause there are bad comments saying that the driver didn’t show up.
With the tour guide Thor’s guidance, you will know how the landscape of the Peggy’s Cove and the other check points. He explained very well, just like providing a live geology lesson to me, love it! This tour has enough time for taking photos, not rush.
In addition, he drove me to some of the around Halifax historic check point. Tell him what you are interested, I believe he will try his best to introduce places you to go.

I highly recommend See Sight Tours! Every single detail was absolutely perfect. The van arrived promptly at 10 minutes to the hour, as scheduled. It was a very clean black Mercedes van. The wonderful Makoto picked me up, he was extremely polite, friendly and knowledgable tour guide. He is also an excellent driver. He spent the trip giving lots of interesting local folklore stories, and made the experience so engaging. As we drove past points of interest he shared stories and I genuinely enjoyed our conversation! I mentioned in passing that I had a special request from a family member to bring home Maple Candy when I returned from the trip, Makoto even made a special stop for me at a Maple candy specialty store, something that I truly appreciated.
Peggys Cove was pretty. One thing to note, the tour is actually only 1 hour on the ground in Peggys Cove. I had read previous reviews that people got dropped off and had to fill several hours, that would have been way too much time. In fact, Makoto stayed in Peggy's cove the whole time, gave me his cell phone and was able to pick me up when I was ready to leave, 15 minutes earlier than our scheduled pick up time. I am so glad that I signed up for this special experience, it really was a highlight of my trip to Nova Scotia!

One of the highlights of our trip to Nova Scotia was a visit to Peggy’s Cove. We were picked up in a van from See Sight Tours, from another Hotel location in downtown Halifax, as they didn’t pick up from our hotel. The driver was nice as she gave told us several stories regarding Halifax and Peggy’s Cove. When we got to Peggy’s Cove, she just dropped us off and said she would come back and pick us up at 2:30. We were under the impression that she would go with us, and narrate some historic information. Basically it was just a ride there and back. If we had known sooner or investigated it prior to booking, and seeing how close it was, we would have just driven ourselves in our vehicle. The cost of gas would have been about $50.00, where for the van ride tour=$218 for two people, plus $100 in cab fare both ways for a total of$318.00. It’s not worth to book this as it is much, much cheaper to just go in your own vehicle.

Hello, We have 9 people in our group. Can you accommodate this size group? We are arriving on a Celebrity Cruise ship, so we need to be picked up at the port. Please advise ASAP. We are arriving on Sept 14. at 11AM and will be ready to tour at about 12noon-1PM. Thank you.
If our group is too big for one van, we can split into two groups leaving at the same time.

The van picks you up from your hotel. Drops you at Peggy's Cove for about two hours. You are then picked up again at the Visitors Center for the return journey to Halifax.
