      An Extraordinary Boat Ride.
Whilst there is certainly a line, it's well worth the wait. Taking a boat ride itself comes across as a mundane activity, but with the surrounding scenery it becomes an absolute wonder. Being so close to a, substantial, amount of water pouring down, feeling the spray on your face, seeing how small people look on the cliffs above, it felt magical. Definitely worth the visit.

      Your going to get wet,,
After many times coming to NF it’s the first time taking this well orchestrated venture..it was exactly 20 min.from on the watercraft til you got off..from what I noticed TIMING is everything, the craft that left before us was quite full, ours was not,,so we got a spot on the lower deck, aft left rear corner. it was an experience ,THEY GIVE YOU PONCHOS but you WILL get WET..highly recommended

      Simply must do!
This is a must do on the Canadian side. We traveled at an off peak time, so purchase our tickets and walked right on the boat. You are given a poncho, but anything not covered by the poncho will get wet. The boat heads straight towards the falls and spins a lot of time floating in the mist before turning around! You do get wet but it's worth it!

      Perfect Photo-Op
The most fun I had on our trip. Grad your red poncho and hop on board for a close up with the falls. it’s one of the most popular things to do while at the falls. Don’t be discouraged by the long lines because it moves quickly. I think maybe 30 minutes from the ticket booth until we were boarding on the boat. You’ll get wet despite them giving you a poncho. We wore quick dry pants and my rain jacket. We went to dinner right afterwards, so the quick dry pants came in handy. You’ll enjoy it.

      Brilliant experience
Niagara City Cruises is the Canadian version of the Made of the Mist boat tours. We went on a Friday in September when it was quite although I know from past experience that there can be long queues at other times. You are provided with a disposable waterproof covering before getting on the boat. The boat then goes alongside the American falls and then up to the horseshoe falls were it stops for a few minutes. You get very close to the falls and do get covered in spray. If you want to keep dry I would suggest standing on the lower level of the boat. We were advised to stand on the right side of the boat for the best view of the falls but I think it would have been better to be on the left side or at the front. This experience is a must if you are in Niagara.

      Wet and wild
This excursion began with a WeGo shuttle from the area of our hotel to the Niagara Falls Tourist Center. I would estimate that it is almost a mile from there to the embarkation point. We missed the shuttle bus and walked rather than wait another 20 minutes. We didn't realize the distance. We should have waited for the next bus and avoid the uphill walk and oppressive heat and humidity. Once we boarded the boat, all was good. We see more waterfalls on the Canadian side, and it is not as crowded as "Maid of the Mist" on the American side. You need to wear the red, plastic ponchos and slippers or water shoes. You will be drenched.

      Denise is a rock star!
Denise in group ticketing was able to solve a crisis (no confirmation number) by calling a supervisor and finding my group’s prepaid 41 tickets. The ride was fun, but it would not have happened without Denise’s professionalism and persistence. She is a fabulous professional!

      Stunning View of The Falls!
Stunning views of Niagara Falls! Yes, you will get wet! They give you a plastic poncho, but it doesn't cover everything, and you will get wet. If your camera/phone are not water resistant, I suggest you either put it in a zip lock bag or buy some type of water repellant case for it, as it will get wet. Getting that close to the Falls was amazing with the loud, thundering sound of water, watching it crash off the rocks, and being sprayed with its mist. It was quite an experience...and you will get wet!

Maid of the mst, Canadian side
Been on the trip many times but still amazes every time, as you get so close to both waterfalls and just stand there getting buffeted by the water, spray and swell. You get soaked but it is just so worthwhile . The crew are amazing and the whole trip superb

Ponchos at the ready. Hornblower boat trip
What a brilliant trip on the Hornblower. It’s an absolute must to do. Easy to book, well organised staff lovely. Great photo opportunities and you will get wet. Ponchos are supplied free of charge. If you only do one excursion when visiting Niagara Falls it must be this.

Feel the power of the falls
How close can you get to the falls? Very close. You will feel the mist and the spray like you are in a thunder storm. Everyone on the boat loved it including all the kids. You can feel the power of the water. You will get wet on the feet and legs and hair. Wear shorts and you will be fine. A must do.

      Must Do
Nothing like it, and you will get wet. best way to experience the majesty of Niagara Falls. Compared to other scam attractions in Niagara, the boat to the falls is worth it.

If you do one thing at Niagara do this
You've probably seen the videos and pictures online but nothing can prepare you for the experience of being in the middle of the Canadian falls. Awesome. An absolute must trip! Even with the ponchos you're probably going to get wet so probably best to consider what shoes and trousers you're going to wear. Walking around afterwards with clingy soaked jeans is probably not going to be fun.

      Hornblower Niagara City Cruises
The Niagara City Cruises do a great job with this attraction. They move hundreds of people though every half hour. They provide plastic rainwear and an incredible view of the falls bringing you up close to feel the spray and the spectacular experience!

Important: Hornblower is CA side of falls. If you are on USA side, you want Maid of the Mist. We actually did the daytime and the nighttime cruises. It was very hot the day we did the cruise. We had on the ponchos, but still got wet during the day. You can also see much more in the day. Lasts about 20mins. At night you do not (at least we didn't) as wet. The falls are illuminated with colored lights followed by fireworks around 10pm. Lasts about 40 mins. I would recommend both. If you only can do one, I would see do the nighttime cruise. They do give a discount for doing both cruises. It is not explained well on the web site. I would call to make sure to get the discount. You will definitely need to reserve your booking for night. Day cruises leave every 20 mins.

Our whole family enjoyed this experience. Our kids loved it who are 8 and 11. This was well worth it. They know how to keep it moving. Don't let long lines turn you away. They definitely know what their doing and with great customer service. The ponchos keep you dry. There are two boats for this cruise so don't rush to get on the first one. You do want to be on the top deck. Beautiful view of both falls with all the lighting and the fireworks are great even though they only last five minutes. I would definitely do it again.

So, I took a friend from England to see the Falls. We went on the fireworks cruise. The cruise itself was AWESOME. We had a blast. The falls and fireworks were amazing. Really cool. We loved it, even in the rain. But, the food and drink?? They make it sound so upscale and it really, really, really ISN'T. It's crappy food at fine dining prices. So, go on the cruise, but not on an empty stomach. Get your goodies before or after.

Unfortunately as this company appear to have the monopoly on this type of cruise from the Canada side, what they offer is pretty poor. When I booked this trip it suggested that drinks would be available on board and that there was seating but there were neither. There were some places to sit (very limited) but they were not seats. The information clearly states this is an accessible activity but for anybody with mobility issues there is a fair amount of walking. Before attempting the walk we enquired what sort of assistance would be available and were met with a shoulder shrug and ‘you can get a wheelchair at the bottom’. When we were at the bottom and were looking to come back up and sought to access to the wheelchair we were told it was for emergencies only which left us in a pickle. We did eventually get a wheelchair but nobody was particularly helpful and nobody really seemed to know what was going on or whether they could help. I should say that I had emailed the company a week prior with an enquiry about accessibility and didn’t receive a response I also tried to call a couple of times but to no avail. I have to agree with others in terms of the fact the fireworks were great (albeit nothing to do with this company) and it was good to watch from the boat but I think if you are travelling with elderly or less mobile people it’s important to note that there is a bit of walking to be done (which on the way down isn’t too bad but on the way back is quite difficult), there is limited space to sit and no proper ‘seats’, there isn’t a protected indoor area and there were no refreshments available altho’ there were restrooms. If you’re on the fireworks tour as we were everything is closed as you exit so no possibility of buying a souvenir or even a bottle of water. All in all this wasn’t a terrible trip but could have been so much better and I think the company take advantage of having the monopoly.

The boat is the exact one we did our falls cruise during the day. If you are not up front, you can not see the full affect of the light/fireworks. Much better view to stay on land. Boat was crowded as during the day, you got just as wet as during the day. We were lead to believe you could stay inside to see the show. If you did, you saw nothing. There was no place on boat to buy a cocktail. We only saw the colored light on the falls when we were turning to leave. I’m sure those few people upfront had a fabulous view like the description of this experience

We recently did the day/night package on the Hornblower that included the Fireworks cruise. Don't waste your money. You can see the fireworks and falls lit up from anywhere. The experience on the boat is actually the worst place to watch, especially for kids as they cannot see. The day time trip where you get under the falls is a much better experience and value. Save your money and watch the fireworks and lights from anywhere else. I would recommend Rainbow bridge. Best view of the falls.

First off....if you or someone in your group has trouble walking or back/leg trouble DON'T GO....what they said was a 5 minute walk, for me, it took 45mins to even reach the loading area. The fireworks were nice but you can see them fine from anywhere in the area. They only provide wheelchairs for a small area and then you're sent on your way to walk the rest of the way...will not be doing this again!!!

Not agara Falls, Canada is NOT mobility impaired friendly. Also, the designated parking for the cruise is nearly 1/2mile away. Parking ANYWHERE is hit or miss. We drove around and around 1 hour. I walk with a cane. In desperation, I parked about 1/2 mile away. Parking is $5Canadian for 30 minutes. We were 2 hours ahead of the cruise.
The cattle like maneuvering to get boatside, is a challenge. We were told there were several food vendor trucks, tables and bathrooms so we could wait.
There was one vendor truck with ice cold Niagara beer, cocktsils, hot dog, hamburger fare. Bathrooms were clean and accessible.
There was suppose to be music but the only music was from a band at a wedding reception.
After receiving our ponchos, things improved. Standing room only with a few benches. If you are inside it's doubtful you'll have a good view with crowds on deck.
It was torrential, pelting rain and we still went out. The Falls were breath taking. The illumination of both American and Canadian Falls were in red, purple, bright white, green, Amber yellow. The closeness to the falls was intense in awe and volume of sound.
Rockin music was pumped in .
Weather was horrific , soaked to the skin and the fireworks began at exactly 10pm. Stunning. When I needed reprieve from rain, I was surprisingly still able to see fireworks, even when inside.
Staff was friendly. Corralling process on and off the boat was methodical. People were respectful of each other. No pushing or fighting. Very peaceful, very Canadian. Every ethnicity of the world and we all got along on a rainy, warrm June night.
Yes. You can see the fireworks from elevated points. If you have not taken a Falls boat trip, this one or Maid of the Mist get you up and personal with intense flow of water.
Word of caution:. Bring mobility assistance with you:walker, wheelchair. The journey is a challenge. I was truly surprised , tho, that I survived with the help of meds for pain.
    All good 2 days later.
Fun, beautiful cruise soaking in the powerful Falls.

The fireworks with the booms only added to the beautiful colors, and roar of the falls. A beautiful and exciting time on the boat that comes very close to the falls, We where wet from the mist of the falls, a wonderful experience. Our whole family really enjoyed the tour. It was very well organized and went pretty smoothly. . Highly recommend this attraction.

It is beautiful and so close to the Falls! We were right in between in the Hornblower and they give you rain ponchos because you will get wet! But so worth it. This was an experience of a lifetime. Also was included in our VIP PLUS package.
