On the morning excursion, follow your guide to wineries situated near the famous Niagara Falls. Embark on a guided tour, including stops in the vineyards and tasting room, at one of the largest local wineries. Learn about the vintages, wine-making methods, and vineyard history from your guide, while tasting samples. At one stop, enjoy an expert cheese pairing. The slightly longer afternoon tour stops first at one of the area's most popular wineries for a guided vineyard tour and tasting. Then hit some wineries that many tours fail to visit. Taste renowned Ontario ice wine and enjoy cheese pairings. Relax or snooze on the ride home to your original departure point.

Highest Recommendations for Getaway Wine Tour with the Girlfriends

In November 2022, we had a girlfriends trip to Niagara Falls and decided to join Grape Escape Wine Tour. The three of us booked the pick up and drop off tour, which includes a visit to three wineries and a gourmet dinner. Our guide, David, was friendly, knowledgable, and thoughtful. He arranged and brought us to the three wineries, a large corporate sized winery, a medium size winery and small family runned winery to experience and gain understanding of the difference in the production process and taste the amazing wines. David explained many historical highlights of the area and made you feel welcomed and safe. After the wine tour, we had a declicious, three course gourmet dinner at OLiV Restaurant. The food was as beautiful and flavourful as the highend restaurants in Toronto! We had a perfect trip and David made it that much more special. Thank you for a wonderful time.

Excellent Wine Tour

We had a great time visiting 3 very different wineries. Our guide David was very engaging and knowledgeable about the vineyards and local area. We booked on a quiet day and ended up getting a private tour. When we arrived a bit early he voluntarily added a drive thru tour of Niagara-on-the-Lake. We experienced great wines and great service at all the stops and would highly recommend this tour.

Excellent first time experience of wine tasting

Pat from Grape escape was our tour guide for the morning and from the moment he picked us up from our AirBnB we knew we were going to have a great morning. Pat explained everything that was going to happen during the morning before we even got into the van, which allowed us to understand how much time we had in each location and how the morning would pan out. This was the first time I've been on a wine tasting experience so was looking forward to what it had to offer. We visited three wineries; from a small family setup to a large commercial one and I think this really gave an insight into the different scales of operation. In each location we sampled around 3 to 4 wines and even in the last venue we were provided with a sample of the ice wine. I won't list the wineries here as I believe they do select different ones for each tour. Pat was very knowledgeable about the wines and the area and was very easy to chat to and never once made us feel rushed at any stage. There is absolutely no pressure from anyone to purchase any of the wines which again made this experience very relaxing. We did end up purchasing wines between us and Pat made sure to keep the purchases safe in the van during the other winery visits. I would recommend this tour company to anyone visiting the area if you want to have a lovely relaxed morning trying the wines which are produced in the area.

We booked an afternoon wine tour with Grape Escapes during our three day stay in Niagara on the Lake and can't say enough to give them a strong recommendation. The wineries proved to be interesting choices that we'd have never found on our own. The sampling was generous and the staff at each stop was professional, friendly and informative. The coach was clean and comfortable and our driver, David was personable and knowledgeable. He made everyone feel comfortable and engaged in his insightful information on the vineyards and anecdotes about the area. We booked the afternoon tour for our anniversary and were so surprised when we returned to our hotel with our purchased wines that David had slipped a Congratulations card in the bag. What a great touch to make an already good experience only that much better!

Afternoon tour - great experience!
We did the afternoon vehicle tour and loved it. Our guide Thom was fantastic, very knowledgeable, kind, patient and friendly. Pick up was right on time at 1:30pm and we shared a vehicle with 5 other people. Covid protocols were taken very seriously and felt very safe. We went to three wineries and tasted about 5 wines at each and then were dropped off at our B&B at 5:30. Had a great time and would highly recommend! Thom was such a great guide and really made the afternoon very enjoyable.

We booked Grape Escape during our honeymoon trip for the tasting tour plus dinner and we had such a wonderful time. It ended up being just the two of us and our guide, David, who truly made our experience even more than we ever expected. David was absolutely fantastic, giving us anecdotes throughout the tour about the region and it's history and going above and beyond at every stop to make sure we were well taken care of. It was clear to us that he loves what he does and made us feel so welcome and special. We can't say enough good things about David and Grape Escapes!

Wonderful tour experience
We had the good fortune to have David as our tour guide/driver for an afternoon wine tour and gourmet dinner. Our group was small, with another lovely couple on our tour as well, and we did tastings at three wineries in total (one large and two smaller), followed by a delicious dinner at the restaurant located at another winery. The wines were wonderful and so was the company. Such an enjoyable day.

David was an amazing guide. He was so knowledgeable about the wineries we visited and you could tell the staff at each location really liked working with him. He also shared very helpful information about the local area that definitely enhanced our stay. When we are back in the Niagara region again for another visit we will be sure to use Grape Escape and definitely will request David as our guide! Many thanks for a fantastic time, and a special thank you for the very thoughtful card for our 30th anniversary.

Our first wine testing experience and it was fabulous! We went to 3 wineries and sampled lots of nice wine. My husband isn't really a wine drinker and really enjoyed it. I now know I'm not a red drinker, I just love my rose and sparkling but really good to go and try lots of yummy wines and at least I can say I have tried a few reds but I'm a rose girl! All staff very friendly and Mike our guide was very lovely. And also the wineries were beautiful, and everyone we spoke to in Canada said omg are you doing a wine tour in niagara and were excited we had booked so definitely recommend a wine tour to try canada's local wines and the scenery is just fab - great day out. We also purchased some wine to have back at the hotel whilst enjoying the night niagara lights.

David was an excellent tour guide! He was friendly, personable, and made our experience great. We were picked up right on time at our hotel. We were taken to three wineries and the tour was well organized by Grape Escape. The first two stops were fantastic - informative, engaging, and well-structured. We were a little disappointed with the Inniskillin stop (where we were handed samples at the bar but received no information about the wines, production, or winery), but that was no fault of our tour guides. We'd definitely recommend booking through Grape Escape if you want to do a winery tour!

First time ever doing an organized wine tour and it was absolutely the best experience I have had visiting wineries. Our tour guide David was lovely, knowledgeable, and tremendously fun! He guided us through the bench wine country with expertise, local history, and a wealth of knowledge about each winery we visited. Grape Escapes did it all and during this pandemic, that is quite a feat in itself! Everything was prearranged at each winery we visited. It was truly a wonderful and relaxing way to celebrate a dear friend's birthday. I would highly recommend Grape Escapes, knowing that you will be taken care of expertly and with the utmost care. !
