Booked the new “Dome Experience” at this winery. Wine tastings and charcuterie in an intimate dome structure overlooking the vineyard and Lake Ontario. Alex, our charming host, gave us the history of the winery and the Konzelmann family then served us a variety of select and regular wines to taste, along with a delicious platter of some local charcuterie. A wonderful experience with some very good wines and food, with Alex providing superb hosting with great descriptions of the wines, the pairings and throwing in some interesting combinations to make our visit truly memorable and enjoyable. The experience was supposed to last 45 minutes, but it was next to impossible to accomplish it in that time frame, so we did go overtime a bit. The setting was incredible and despite the outdoor temperature hovering at over 30 deg C, a small cooling fan and light breeze off the lake made the heat unnoticeable and did not distract from the experience. Highly recommended if you are planning to visit the Niagara region. Oh, and included in the price was a small gift (wooden charcuterie board) and a $5.00 coupon upon purchase of two bottles of wine at the store. It was a pleasant bonus. Reservations are required for this very intimidate experience.

We visited Konzelmann this time as part of a Winery Tours of Niagara package. We have visited many times in the past as well. Our visit was lovely -- our server was friendly, knowledgeable and informative. The wines are great. One think we love about Konzelmann is the wide range of wine prices. We purchased some lovely reds around $20 and also some more special-occasion wines.

We absolutely love Konzelmann Estate Winery. We visited the area for a long weekend getaway. When planning our trip, I found that very few wineries offer the traditional walk-in tastings. Most places make you schedule a very pricey sit down tasting that last 45-60 minutes. I just want to pop in try some reds and buy some reds. That is exactly what you will get at Konzelmann, but don't misunderstand they still interact, take their time and tell you about the different wines, Gabriella was amazing and very knowlegable about the wine, she gave us great recommendations and it was overall a wonderful experience. If you are going to NOTL, Kozelmann is a must stop on your wine tour.

We had such a fun experience at this winery! Gabriella assisted us and I can only describe her as joy personified!! She really listened to me and my partners vastly different tastes and catered to both of your needs. I have a limited wine pallate but she still made me feel welcome and find a couple of tastings I really enjoyed. We ended up purchasing several bottles because of the delicious and lovely experience. We went to 4 or 5 other wineries in the area thst day and the price and taste of the wine could not be beat here.

We did the romantic and personal Dome Experience with Alex. Unlike any other wine tasting in Niagara. You cannot compare Konzelmann to any other winery. The experience and the wines are exceptional. He shared detailed information on the family and founding of the winery and land and each wine has been created with incredible attention to detail. We have been all over (from Germany, across Europe and Napa Valley California) and this experience topped them. We were treated with the upmost respect, and the wine line up was well thought out from their extremely unique Reisling, Chardonnay, Merlo, Rose and very special unique peach wine. I'm usually into dry reds and cabs, and somehow I'm won over with the incredible flavour palettes of each of these very special wines. Thank you Alex for making our holiday the best! The view is like none other with the vineyards, the lake, and beautiful building as well. When we purchased some wine later we had lovely chats with Donna, who has a looooong history and experience with Konzelmann and she was incredible for sharing detailed information on the wines as well. What a full rounded incrediblely romantic and fun experience.

Upon arrival the greeters were a bit disorganized. Didn't ask our names, we provided it for them. The first gentleman didn't even say hello and then the next greeter apologized for the first greeter walking away from us because of a group of 8 just showed up. He checked off our names then began walking away without properly acknowledging what we were to do because a group of 8 "just showed up" is a little rude when we had paid reservations for a tasting. Other than saying our tour/tasting is for 1 pm and we were 10 minutes early for check in. Regardless of the number of people showing up improve etiquette for how greeters greet all guests whether they are booked or not. Welcome greeters get 4/10 score.
Now for the tasting: Donna and the young lady she was training for our Hallowine experience were exceptional, enthusiastic and fun! Displays and wine pairings were excellent and surprising. We even had a cute ghost story along with the tasting. Ambiance, the group, along with the hostesses, 10 out of 10 score.

Donna was clearly very passionate about wine tasting and provided lots of fun information about tasting notes / the winemaking process during our wine tasting. She was the most enthusiastic sommelier we encountered out of the many different wineries that we visited in the region, and really made this experience stand out above the others. As another reviewer has already commented, I also recommend requesting Donna specifically for your tasting!

Konzelmann's has quickly become our favourite destination in the winery region. The facilities and experiences are interesting, well thought out and fun to participate in. Recently we have spent time in the "Dome experience" and it was an excellent experience and the experience is being upgraded with improvements to the dome itself.
The store is a great place to stock up on great products that are fairly priced. The wine is one of my favourites in Niagara on the Lake with very unique items such as peach wine.
With all the great items I have mentioned all of this would go unnoticed if it wasn't for the great hospitality every time we have visited. We have always felt very welcomed. On our last two recent visits we had the pleasure having Cindy host us. The professionalism and courtesy she has showed us every time completes the whole package.
If you have not been to this area I would suggest this as a first stop to start your trip of right.

We thoroughly enjoyed the wine and the service received during our tasting experience! We loved the wine we tasted so much so that we browsed the shop and purchased each bottle of wine we tasted.
Word of advice bring your own bag with handles! They only have paper bags available or boxes making it difficult to carry especially when not driving and attending other wineries. When mentioning it to “Donna” we were made to feel we were being unreasonable. Donna rolled her eyes at us, she was sarcastic and dismissive toward our genuine feedback. It put a damper on the experience. Rather unfortunate end to a perfectly good time sipping and dipping.

The indoor staff specially the gentleman who is responsible for wine tasting needs to change his attitude towards customer. We reserved wine tasting for 3 people. unfortunately one could not make it. We asked them to serve us for 3 the answer was according to the law we cannot serve extra. I tried to talk to the guy who was serving the wine and he would not even listen. I had wine tasting all over Niagara on the lake and after wine tasting we would drink a 5 or 9 ounces of whatever wine we liked. Nobody refused to serve wine. When I asked this guy let us taste our extra wine that we already paid he said no. We cannot go to jail. I want to know if I wanted to buy extra glace of wine he would say the same or that excuse was because they don't have license to serve more than tasting. I am upset because the excuse he made was not logical. He could say no we don't have license why you bring the law for me since on the patio the same place I had two glace of wine and nobody said anything. How come law can be different in the same place and also the manager was very snippy when we approached for refund the day before.
Their attitude should change toward the public. They should realize they are there to serve the public not the public serve them. Also outdoor staff and amenities are magnificent. Indoor staff needs to be changed or trained to service the public properly.

Hi I have children coming along this trip to Canada are they allow in this tour and allow to come in to the winery?

I really don't know since it was just my wife and I on the tour and we are well past young children age. Everyone there was so nice, I would think they would allow children.
