If you are looking for a tour if the city this is not the best way of doing it. The tour guide had some knowledge but we learned a lot more on a walking tour. The boat experience is unexceptional and the tour was shorter than advertised. We did a duck boat tour in Boston which was amazing so the bar was set high, this one didn’t even compare.

We're sorry to hear the tour didn't live up to your expectations. Our guides are always learning more about the city but sometimes the traffic conditions just aren't in their favor. We do hope you enjoyed Ottawa nonetheless!

The guides were obviously nice people. But. They waited until we were a quarter of the way through the tour to tell us we couldn’t do the water part because of the vehicle. The water part was the whole reason I chose this tour! They could have at least told us before and potentially offered refunds because it was lackluster without the water part.

Double-decker buses do not go in the water but we are truly sorry that this was not clear when you boarded.

A fabulous time on this tour. The guide was very informative and had a great sense of humour. Very cool to be driving down the street and then a few moments later you are in the river on a "boat". Great views on the river, able to get a view of the Parliament Buildings from behind and the entrance to the Rideau Canal Locks. I highly recommend for a unique experience.

I purchased tickets for me and my five-year-old son the day before we intended to take the land/water tour. The next day we arrived 30 minutes early, which the site claims is necessary. It was 96 degrees outside. We waited in the heat and the bus was a few minutes late. We were dying from the heat since we had been waiting outside with no shade. When the bus arrived, there were just a few windows cracked--it appeared that most of the windows would not open. My son and I boarded the bus and the heat was sweltering, probably over 100 in the non-ventilated bus. I asked if there was any A/C and I was told no. My son looked like he was going to be sick from the heat. He started to cry and his face was as red as a tomato. There was no way we could continue in the heat without ending up in the hospital, and so we disembarked. They would not give us even a partial refund.

I understand that there is a "no refund" policy, but when it is 100 degrees outside during a heatwave and you don't offer any cooling or ventilation on your bus, you can't expect small children to be able to ride the bus. Beyond that, the inside of the bus was old and very, very shabby. The price charged is extremely inflated.

I'm always on the lookout for a way to get a snapshot of a new city and this was a unique and fun way to do it. Purchased tickets online, which I would recommend, as there is a savings. Don't worry if you don't have printer access, as you still have to give your name at the kiosk on Elgin and Spark Street to get a receipt, which in turn is used to gain entrance on Lady Dive. Our tour gal was young and effervescent. Loved the personal stories she shared of her growing up in Ottawa. She certainly new her history and was well adept at answering the pepper of questions given to her by the guests. The length of time was perfect. My only wish was to have seen where the PM lived. All in all, money well spent.

We bought tickets for the Lady Dive Hop On/Hop Off bus tour in conjunction with the Capital Cruises boat tour on July 2nd, 2011. In total, the cost was $86 for two people; $46 of which was for the bus tour.

While on the tour, we could not stop at the War Museum because the Royals were going to be visiting there later in the day. We could not stop at Rideau Hall because the Royals were staying there. Because it was a Saturday, many of the stops on the itinerary were closed. We did not stop in the park to take a picture, like the itinerary said. Throughout the tour, the bus was driving so fast that you could hardly take a steady, clear picture. Our tour guide was new to her job, and when passengers asked questions about the sights, she had no idea what the answers were.

Initially, we had been so excited to see many stops and take full advantage of the hop on/hop off experience, but by the end of the tour we had gotten on the bus at the beginning and never got off again until it was over - not because we didn't want to, but because we COULDN'T.

While I completely understand that some sights may be closed on certain days, most tourists do not know this. The ticket sellers at Lady Dive completely mislead us, never telling us that any of the stops would be unavailable. When our tour was over, we expressed our concern to the ticket seller (who was also the boss), and her response was "What do you want me to do?!" Long story short, she certainly didn't refund our money, and gave us much attitude instead.

If you want to see the city of Ottawa without ever getting off a bus, take OC Transpo for $2 instead of $23 for Lady Dive.

The boat cruise provided by Capital Cruises, however, was lovely and well worth the $20 tickets.

The tour was for a full hour and covered most of the main sites in Ottawa and having the water tour was the extra bonus. It is always worth seeing a city from the water and Ottawa was worth it as well.

Fun tour with all the important highlights of Ottawa! Catie was a great guide who absolutely knew her facts, helped out all the passengers with some nice photos and who was easy to listen to.
The only improvement point would be to ideally drive a bit slower as the info felt rushed at times when traffic was running smoothly. Therefore our tour also took less than 1 hour instead of the expected 1hour -1.5 hours.

Pierre switched back and forth, from the English language to French, while giving us a tour of downtown Ottawa. He took a break in the middle of the tour and walked up and down the isle to ask us if we had any questions. Even though he probably gave the same tour many times before, I was impressed that he really tried to sell the jokes that he told. I was very happy with the tour
