        SightSeeing Niagara Falls
Our tour was booked over the website without issues. We stayed at a hotel in Toronto with intentions to spend a one day travel to Niagara Falls. The morning guide was scheduled for 8:15 am leading to a somewhat sunny afternoon followed by rain in the evening. From our hotel we waited outside for approximately 10 additional minutes from the alotted time frame that was expected from us. It wasn't a big deal. We were shortly after greeted by our driver who was in casual clothes. He then escorted us to his mini van. My partner and I were a tad surprised as we were expecting one of the red Sightseeing busses. Nonetheless the vehicle was fine. Probably in this case better then the one we thought it was going to be due to the upcoming weather conditions. The vehicle was clean, roomy, with a nice see through roof. We settled with a small quiet and friendly group of less than 10 people. No kids. Our driver was professional, and very knowledgeable throughout the entire guide. He spoke through a headset leading into a bluetooth speaker which could be heard clearly. He excelled in good narration with little to no pauses and straight to the point. When he had messed a fact/alternative statement up he fixed it right away afterwards. At times he added a few small jokes to keep things engaging with the passengers. Our destinations included many souvenir shops that were identical from the beginning first hop-off, right till the end. Niagara Falls were great! I do wish however that there was more time to do things there. We had a 2h time frame which sped by really quickly! That was our own faults though for taking lots of photos and trying to see everything instead of specific attractions. We ended up missing a few places unfortunately. After reuniting with the rest of our crew, we were back in the mini van and onto a new stop location. In one of our destinations our driver took us to Niagara on the Lake. He recommended us to make purchases towards the locals and not the franchise businesses. However, the local stores were not cheap! We didnt buy anything. In that town, we only stayed at a restraunt to eat. Afterwards as the weather predicted, it rained and I mean poured. We went to a wine tasting. It was fun to try and made it a good experience. We learned about ice wine and its sweetness. On our way back to Toronto, the driver was the only part that my partner and I felt uneasy with. We had noticed that during the highway traffic our driver kept going in and out of the lanes and we were wandering if its cause of the rain? We afterwards noticed from the reflection of the glass that he was texting! For us this was a big turn off as safety was a priority to us. We observed him doing it for miles! It was definately concerning as passengers were preganant and elderly. If something happened to them, I dont think he would admit to his wrongdoings if an accident did occur. Other then that, we made it back to our hotel in one piece. We would recommend this tour. If the last section hadn't occurred, our review would have been 5 star. Thanks for the great experience

A one of a kind tour you will never forget
Let me just start by praising Michael. He was an absolute gem on the tour guide of the Niagara Falls day trip, combined with his astounding ability to host a running commentary while simultaneously driving. The level of detail and factual knowledge he was able to recite along the tour still amazes me today – In fact I still struggle to comprehend how well he was able to communicate with us so fluently and effortlessly, even inserting some funny jokes during the journey! Michael even had the time to organise a mini competition as we arrived at Niagara-on-the-Lake, and I am proud to say that I won and was awarded a prize. I won’t say what the competition and prize entailed, as it won’t be a competition anymore! Not to mention Michael’s limited but effective mechanical capabilities which were able to get the tour bus up and running, as it broke down twice on the way back to Toronto! Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the tour and I am sure everyone else did, and could not have asked for a better tour guide other than Michael for making this whole thing possible.

        Incredibly disappointing
My experience with City Sightseeing Toronto was incredibly disappointing. Upon arriving at Hotel Chelsea, I was enticed by a promotional brochure advertising a specific price for their tour. However the actual price was significantly higher. This glaring discrepancy between the advertised price and the actual cost created immense discomfort for both myself and other customers. I was let down to discover that the company failed to honor the promised price, leading to an embarrassing and awkward situation. Furthermore, the lack of clear communication from City Sightseeing Toronto only added to the frustration. One would expect a reputable tour company to be transparent and meet customer expectations, but unfortunately, that was not the case here. Based on this negative experience, I cannot recommend City Sightseeing Toronto. It is crucial for businesses to be honest and transparent in their communications, avoiding any embarrassment or disappointment for their customers. I hope they reevaluate their practices and improve their customer service in the future.

Where was I? Couldn’t tell from bus commentary.
If you are expecting a tour with commentary on what you are seeing, this is not for you. The sound system delivered mostly loud static with a bit of the mumbled commentary provided. If you can’t hear any commentary about where you are, this is mainly a bus trip through various construction areas in Toronto. Can I rate this less than terrible?

        Bad trip to the falls
There was a snow storm that day, the bus trip should have been canceled! It was very difficult to see Niagara Falls. Between the mist from the falls, heavy snow and the wind was blowing very hard. it was unpleasant, uncomfortable and dangerous. I don’t think it was safe to be driving in this kind of weather nor walking outside in these conditions. We spent about 10 minutes tops at the falls. They took us to town next. The sidewalks were very slick and slippery. It was dangerous to walk I saw a couple of young people fall. I am 58 years old man with a bad back and I can’t afford to slip and fall. So, I stayed at the drop point for over two hours waiting for the bus to come back. After the bus came back I chatted with the bus driver and he admitted that the trip should have been cancelled. I called their office and said that the trip should have been canceled, the manager replied that they didn’t do refunds. The driver was listening to my conversation and he assured his boss that he will stop at all the stops that were promised on the tour. I think he said that to assure his boss that he is covering there back. It did not matter if people on the tour could go out of the bus as long as he got us to point A and point B thus we cannot possibly complain that the trip was not completed as promised and we can’t seek compensation from them or our credit card company. It felt like we are being scammed. The Bus got stuck in the snow and had to go back and forth several times before we were free. I thought that we are going to be stuck in the snow. We ended up skipping a couple of stops on our tour. For example, the Niagara Whirlpool site. To make sure that the trip was "completed as scheduled" the driver would stop the bus and ask if anyone wanted to get out. Of course, no one would get out. Between the heavy snow fall and the wind it was a miserable experience Save your money and go with another bus company that is more trustworthy and just wants your money and does not care if you are safe or not. I will also report this to the better business bureau. Companies like this should not be trusted with your travels.

The BEST part of our Vacation!
We booked the Combo package (One-day trip to Niagara and Hop-On/Hop-Off Toronto tour) and this was the absolute best way for us to see EVERYTHING! We started with Michael, our driver to Niagara. Michael told us about everything Toronto and Canada (I almost feel Canadian now) and he shared some special highlights to ensure that we tourists, were able to truly benefit from the day tour and ride. Michael is so great at what he does. We even ran into him three days later because we had to revisit one of our tour stops and we saw him eating his lunch. He even gave us more "adventure tips" for Niagara-on-the-Lake. If you ever want a true understanding of Niagara and Toronto while you relax watching the beautiful skyline and drive, Michael is your guy! The next day, we met Paulo. He was our guide for the Hop-On/Hop-Off tour of downtown Toronto. Even though many of the attractions were closed due to the Coronavirus, Paulo made the entire day enjoyable. Paulo knows the city and he shared great insight on its history and bad experiences with fires (poor Toronto). With the craziness of the day, Paulo adjusted wonderfully to ensure that we did not miss out due to the closures. If you want to know where to find the best beer, the best Poutine, learn some of the culture, enjoy some local spots and fare, get a great understanding of how to say "Spadina" and the local way of saying "Toronto", you have got to get on Michael and Paulo's tours. You will enjoy every second of it!! Thank you Michael and Paulo. You made a crazy few days in Toronto truly fun!

        Good value tour to Niagara
I found the tour to Niagara great value and enjoyed the day that we had. The guide was informative and provided a number of good tips along the way as to how to make the most of our time. There were a few ‘money making’ stops along the way which disappointed a little.

        Great tour to Niagara
We were put onto this marginally cheaper tour after Zoom cancelled our tour. The itinerary was slightly different and there was no wifi on board but The City Sightseeing Tour was very good.

Excellent Toronto - Niagara Combo Tour Package
We selected City Sightseeing Toronto's very popular Toronto - Niagara Combo Tour Package for our short stay in the city. What an excellent choice this was for taking in all the cities major attractions, as well as experiencing world renowned Niagara Falls in Ontario. We definitely wanted to include a visit to Niagara Falls during our short stay in Toronto, and what an excellent choice that was! Our tour and driver/guide were superb, and the double decker tour bus was excellent! The next day and part of our Combo Package, we set out to see the sites and attractions in downtown Toronto, on their Hop On Hop Off Tour Buses. This bus offers 20 popular attractions in the city for you to get on and off at your leisure. A great way to get around the city and the Combo package is the most affordable as well. Hop-on Hop-Off Bus Tour of Toronto
We took the City Hop-on Hop-off bus tour of Toronto and it was as good as any I've experienced in other large cities. The 2 hour ride gives you a good overview of the city which I always find helpful when visiting a new town. We did get off twice to visit sites we were interested in and it was easy to re-board the next bus without much of a wait either time. The comentary on the bus was good for the most part but one guy talked to much about his personal like and experiences than I cared to hear about but it was tolerable. My only hesitation for not giving this tour a 5 was the bus drivers. The jerky, sharp stops and quick accelerations made the ride less than enjoyable. The young ladies working at the key stops for the tour company were awesome and very helpful identifying points of interest for us. I would give the girls a rating of 5.

        6 days in Toronto
Travelling into the city from the airport is easy! Catch the UP Express; tickets can be bought online . Walking around Toronto is a great way to find your bearings: book online for CN Tower as the queues can be long. The Harbourfront area is a pleasant area to walk, ferries to visit the islands plus a variety of restaurants there and many activities going on during the summer months . We hired a car for a day to visit Niagara Falls rather than taking a tour ; it was cheaper plus we had the freedom to see other areas. There are a variety of underground shopping areas to see but for food visiting St Lawrence Market is a must! Transport system easy to follow and use .

We bought our tickets ahead online and went to the closest stop only to find out it didn't exist currently due to construction (Scotiabank Theatre). We were able to call the number on the tickets and were directed to the next stop where we easily found a representative and started the tour. It was very crowded at 2:30 in the afternoon but our guide gave nice information. The crowds caused longer than typical delays at each stop and especially the 1st stop. Our guide stopped guiding when we returned to the 1st stop and the "canned" guide was ok. We returned the following morning to take the boat tour, which was very nice and we would recommend the first boat of the day as it wasn't even half full on a Sunday! We returned to the bus with less crowds and more information. The route changed Saturday to Sunday due to road closures and the guides were very informative. Would not recommend using if you have time constraints.

This 2-hour-tour was a good way to get a feel for downtown Toronto and its history. The guide was nice, knowledgeable and efficient. The tour starts at Dundas Square, and I would recommend starting the tour there, as there are places to sit and wait while watching all the Torontonians and tourists at this major point; it's also the major stop for the tour. From there on, the tour passes through all interesting touristic points, and we could learn about their history as well as the history of the surrounding areas. We could feel the geographical distribution of the downtown area and see life on the streets of this metropolis.

Having used this tour in other major cities I can only say that it was a frustrating waste of time and money. 4 stops on the route closed . Waited long periods (up to 40 mins) for buses and was left waiting 35 mins for a staff break at stop 1 that was advised as 15 mins.
Ear phones not working and no on board commentary available . Did not manage to get a full tour due to bus delays and missed the boat tour as last boat is at 17.00. We eventually left the bus in traffic due to the erratic driving and long delays . Really poor scheduling and a serious lack of buses.
Best to avoid, there are better and more professional options.
We contacted the operators and receivedt a response that managed to address NONE of the issues raised !

This should be the best way to see what’s going on in Toronto but the construction going on in the city is horrendous, we have never seen so many huge cranes in one place before. They are adding to the underground system, knocking buildings down to make way for even larger ones and roads are closed all over the city. While not the companies fault it meant on the first day we used it, 3 stops were removed from the route, the second day was like seeing a different place as so many different roads closed. We were supposed to have a harbour cruise included in the price, but it was not available during our stay. We always recommend trying the open top bus tours, but be aware of this one’s shortcomings

      Sept 2023 • Friends
I am writing to express my profound disappointment regarding my recent experience with City Sightseeing Toronto, which took place on September 29, 2023. As a retiree and an individual with mobility challenges due to disability, my anticipation for an enlightening and accessible tour was met with frustration and insensitivity.
Firstly, the tour guide's derogatory remarks aimed at individuals who faced difficulty ascending the steps to Castle Loma were both hurtful and disrespectful. Referring to them as "lazy bums" was not only inappropriate but deeply offensive, especially to someone like me who struggles with mobility issues due to pain. It is essential for tour guides to maintain professionalism and sensitivity, particularly when interacting with diverse groups of passengers.
Moreover, my disappointment extended to the content of the tour itself. Despite my hopes of gaining new insights about Toronto's history and culture, the tour failed to provide any fresh or engaging information. It left me feeling as though I had gained nothing from the experience, which was particularly disheartening given the significant cost of $64.00 per ticket.
In an attempt to address my concerns, I contacted the City Sightseeing Toronto customer service line, kindly requesting either a refund or a discount for my friend and myself, both of whom are retirees facing similar challenges. Unfortunately, my request was met with a denial, adding to my disappointment.
As a retiree, I value my time and resources, and it is regrettable that my experience with City Sightseeing Toronto not only fell short of my expectations but also left me feeling disheartened and disrespected. I hope that the company takes this feedback seriously and considers implementing improvements to ensure that future tours are more inclusive, informative, and sensitive to the needs of all passengers, regardless of their physical abilities.

We had high hopes, since we were trying to navigate the public transport system, and didn't want to drive/park our car. But seriously, don't bother. The person doing the speaking into our earbuds had interesting facts and was pretty funny at times, but whoever is managing this tour is raking in money with little return for the consumer. It started out okay, but unless you are sitting on the upper deck you miss out on a lot of interesting buildings and areas. When we were finally able to move to the upper deck (half way through) it was better. However....we got off at the castle Casa Loma and upon reboarding, the bus was over booked. People were standing in the aisle with no real chance to see anything. After getting off near China Town, we waited 60 minutes for the next bus to arrive (they say 20-30 minutes at each stop). When it arrived, no one got off the bus, so there was NO room for about 30 of us to get on! The bus left and we were told another would be here in 10 minutes. It took over 25. By the time we got onto a bus, the tour was ending at 5 p.m. and it was 4:45 with no time to take the harbor cruise. We would never do this again. A big loss of money. At the end we just wanted to get back to our rental and forget the tour. My advice, try to do things on your own. Much cheaper and less frustration.

We’ve done many City Sightseeing hop on hop off bus tours in different cities across the world and usually find them great but unfortunately this wasn’t so good. I knew with just 1 loop the tour was limited. We first ended up being on the bus for just over 1 hour (boarding at Stop 1), there was a guide on there but he didn’t say much at all so I felt like we didn’t learn much about the city and I wished I had listened to the pre-recorded guide instead. We ended up getting off at the Roger’s Centre and going to a Blue Jays game instead at the last minute. We did get back on the bus later to go to the distillery district, that guide was a little better and more informative but it was a short trip. Overall it felt very expensive at approximately £80 for 2 adults, I wished we hadn’t bothered and it’s made me more aware of these bus tours in the future especially where there is just 1 loop.

We didn't have a car, so took this bus tour to see neighborhoods beyond our hotel and learn more about Toronto. Having the harbor cruise included was a bonus, and the best part of the day. The connections from bus to boat to bus were pretty good. The audio on the bus using their earphones was pretty poor. Tour guides are young adults who are trying to do their best, with varying results. 5 of 20 stops are not available due to construction. Most people get off at a handful of top stops. The guides could've been more clear about how often do buses come by and when does service stop at the end of the day. The website said 4:15pm+ but I think it might've actually been 6:30pm, so we probably cut our day short prematurely, afraid we'd miss the last bus back towards our hotel. We only got off at one stop other than the boat cruise, fearing it would otherwise eat up too much time.

We decided to go to Toronto for our 26th wedding anniversary. My wife loves traveling seeing the cityscapes I'm a little nervous about big cities. For all my years I've never spent the time to learn Toronto. This was a fantastic way to learn about it and see it! You have a choice of going down below where you're completely protected or going up in the elements on the roof. Almost everybody chose the roof as it was a beautiful day. It's nice to know if it did start raining though you could go down to the lower level and be protected. So lots of versatility. There is a to scale map that they provide and it clearly shows the route. We decided to do the whole route first because we wanted to learn. Don't forget Toronto traffic is insane on a slow day. They give you a set of headphones to plug in to the audio system so you can hear the tour. Our guide was fantastic in pacing herself to describe the locations we visited. One of the first things I realized is I wouldn't be able to do Toronto in one day. Honestly you would have to spend a week in Toronto to get a full feel of all the amazing attractions they have there. I think the first thing you should do when you come here to visit is hop on one of these tours and familiarize yourself with the city. Then you can decide whether you want to continue the next day or the day after and just take your time so you don't feel rushed. It was a very pleasant experience and I would do it again. Let's not forget there is a harbor boat ride included in this as well. There are several islands that I was not aware of I had heard of one or two of them but I didn't realize how much or how many things were going on behind the scenes. There's a tiny airport and planes are landing constantly helicopters are going back and forth all kinds of cool stuff. There's two levels to the boat as well the downstairs level with the bar totally protected from any elements and then the upstairs for a nice sunny day to just enjoy a riverboat ride. We are definitely coming back and we're going to enjoy this again sometime so much more to learn.

When visiting a big city, we love to book one of these tours at the start of our trip. It's a great way to get to know the popular spots and their history. We love the fun facts that are shared along the way!

It's true, sometimes things don't go as smoothly as we'd like, but after having done this a few times, we've learned some important things along the way.

As a general rule, we always make sure to arrive extra early in order to board one of the first buses to leave. By doing so, we are more likely to get seats on the second level, which is much better for air circulation and picture taking.

After having secured our seats, we try to complete an entire loop around the city before opting to hop-off. The entire loop does take some time, but we usually bring snacks and water to keep us fed and hydrated. This guarantees that we have great seats and won't struggle to find a spot on another bus and... we get to hear about all of the hot spots in order to better plan the rest of the day.

After our first loop, we'll then hop-off at the spot we were most interested to visit, in this case, it was the water tour. We then walk around for a bit and did some of our own exploring. After that, we took one of the later buses as things had already started to wind down.

This was the first time we were taking our kids on such a tour and it was great! We did a complete loop before worrying about coming down which saved our children countless steps, which means everybody was happy! When we did end up getting off, they had plenty to chat about and were happy to explore the spots we'd heard about. Later on, they were more than eager to get back on the bus to end our day!

One of the buses we hopped on had a poor sound system and the guide then took out a loudspeaker... which wasn't ideal, but we did appreciated her effort. We simply got off that bus and took the next one, which paid off because it was working correctly!

While travelling, we always do our best to be patient and kind... and that usually pays off! : )
