Carol had pictures from the early settlement days of Toronto, before they had paved roads. She was able to line them up, based on the few existing buildings. It was a unique experience to be able to look at the picture from the same point it was taken and also see the scene, in today's world. Carol also visits genuine Chinese stores which operate the same way they did decades ago. Living in city suburbs and shopping in malls and box stores makes life so sanitary. It is nice to feel the hustle and bustle of these smaller inner city ethic stores. I did not eat anything before the tour but Carol provided plenty of Chinese cuisine, as we stopped along the way at various restaurants, to fill me up on true Chinese menu items. I even brought home a doggy bag, of food I could not finish and some treats I purchased, in some of the stores. I had a good time.

Carol was a great tour guide. The tour has a focus on the history of Toronto and the unique, delicious cuisines that can be found around the city. While the history was interesting, we mentioned the food was our excitement point and she was able to cater the tour more towards that. This was greatly appreciated. Carol is also very easy to talk to, made for some great conversation while on the tour!

Also, she's not kidding when she says don't eat before hand! There is TONS of food, and you will go home stuffed, with boxes of left overs. The hand pulled noodles were our favourite, and it was very cool to see them being made.

We had a great time! Carol is a super interesting person with a big heart. She took you into the history of the area and added in her own personal experiences and anecdotes from her history in the area to bring it even more to life. The food was awesome and very filling. Expect to leave with a full belly and a goody bag to boot! Highly recommended!

Carol was an incredible host who animated 3 hours with stories and left our bellies and hearts full. She was a delight to spend time with and introduced us to so many delicious dishes and to a history in the city that you can't always see. I highly recommend this tour.
