Our guide, Sheila was passionate, knowledgeable, friendly, and flexible. Our tour exceeded all expectations. We toured both the historic areas as well as shopping areas. One of the absolute highlights was her singing “Amazing Grace” in the church to demonstrate the incredible acoustics. It was a beautiful performance. After our tour, she gave us options on how to return to areas we had seen to eat, shop, or do more exploring. After this experience, we have decided we would like to return to Charlottetown for a longer vacation. (I do have to add that the tour was longer than I anticipated, 4 miles…but I wouldn’t have shortened any of it!)

Our guide Joe, was very enjoyable and knowledgeable. We had a good time walking around the historical centre of Charlottetown. We have appreciated the building architecture, learned about its history plus additional anecdotes. 2 hours and + of pleasure. Thank you again.

Our guides name was Shelia. Her knowledge of Charlottetown and history of PEI was outstanding. She was great fun and her beautiful singing in the Diocese Catholic church to illustrate the acoustics blew us away. We whole heartedly recommend this tour,

Joe was witty, and entertaining. His knowledge of history of Charlottetown and PEI was amazing. We learned so much on this 2 hour tour that it actually went longer as the group wanted more and Joe wanted to give more. Lots of laughs as he delivered history with his comedic charm.
However, I can see where other reviews felt it was short on history of Charlottetown. It was much more about the architectural history and the role of William Harris. But we got more because we asked a lot of questions plus we were interested in the architecture too. Overall we loved the tour and Joe. As a travel agent, can't wait to bring another group to Charlottetown and will look for Joe and this tour.

It could be improved by the guide actually showing up. I had assumed there would be others there for a tour as well. No on else was there. The guide was nowhere to be found, multiple people tried contacting him and he was unreachable. The tour never happened. Luckily a refund was promised.

Charlottetown town is such a beautiful please. What better way to enjoy it than a couple of hours walking in the sunshine with an absolute EXPERT. Joe was very welcoming, knowledgeable and kept us laughing throughout with his great sense of humor.

Brilliant tour.Tour guide so very friendly. Wonderful way to spend two hours getting to know the city, it’s history, it’s quirks and architecture. Loved chatting about the beautiful corbels, and cornices set off by the beautifully potted mandevilla ;) Highly recommend! The time flew by. Cheers!

We were hoping to learn more about Charlottetown but the tour was pretty well just 2+ hours of the guide droning on about architecture. William Harris designed this house, this house, this house, this house, this house… you get the idea, or pointing out crappy buildings as the “brutalism” style of the 1950s. We didn’t learn really anything about Charlottetown at all. We didn’t even get to walk in to the grounds of the Lieutenant Governor’s residence or go in any buildings. Literally all we heard was about all these houses that looked exactly the same, with different paint colours, and how William Harris designed them. Or sometimes a gothic house. But none of them were of note, there were no real stories about the town or funny anecdotes, or anything memorable with the exception of every thing we saw being something by William Harris. Nothing about different political leaders. Virtually nothing about the fathers of confederation. No stopping at the armoury or any statues, or stopping to look at plaques outside buildings of note (we would just walk by those buildings and be told about how William Harris designed this or that house or hear how the guide didn’t like the design of a condo building or how we are “flogging” ourselves about the discovery of the remains of indigenous children). No stopping at any fun little bakeries. Or little souvenir shops. Just a real big disappointment and I hate to say that but we have discovered and learned more about Charlottetown on our own; something we had to do after wasting 2+ hours with somebody who didn’t seem to know much about history or politics or anything that somebody visiting Charlottetown might like to know. If this company is going to do tours that focus on William Harris and old houses he’s designed then that’s what they should market it as: The William Harris Architectural Tour. Don’t waste your money on this. Get a map from the hotel and tour yourself around.
