About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 438KarenP4380 contributionsDo The Tour!We greatly enjoyed Josh's audio walking tour. We wanted to do his in-person tour but it wasn't available on the day we were in Charlottetown. Josh kindly advised us of his audio tour. We learned so many interesting facts about the town and heard engaging stories. We would have missed so much if we had just poked around on our own. The advantage of the audio tour is that you can go at your own pace, pause and wander to other things that catch your eye and rewind, if you miss something. It was a lovely way to engage with Charlottetown.Written September 14, 2024
- Dream576343500300 contributionsSolo travelerThe audio waking tour was amazing. Really enjoyed being able to walk and listen to the tour at your own pace. I got to see a lot of very historical buildings, while getting a first hand experience from a local islander, who knew the details in great detail’s. I would highly recommend this tour, if you are visiting the island.Written September 9, 2024
- carolyn75310 contributionsGreat introduction and history lesson of PEIA wonderful way to spend a morning in Charlottetown to get your bearings and learn some interesting facts from a seventh generation islander. He was thorough, very pleasant and had the answer to every question we asked. Thanks Josh for your personalized tour!Written September 3, 2022
- Pacific_blast0 contributionsCharlottetown Walking TourJosh, Thanks again for the personalized tour around Charlottetown and for the great historic information you provided about the area. We only had a night in the city and we were keen to see as many city sights as possible. What better way than to be guided by a local whose family has been in the area for at least eight generations! Your pride and passion for Charlottetown and the surrounding area really came through! You packed our heads full of interesting facts, thoroughly answered all our questions, and sent us away to a wonderful restaurant, that you personally recommended. Your tour was worth every cent! Charlottetown could not ask for a better ambassador. Thank you!Written July 22, 2022

We had a fantastic experience with Josh. What sets him apart is the fact that he has lived on the island his entire life as has his family for many generations. He clearly loves where he is from and he brings that to the tour. He did a great job in balancing local History combined with a picture of the current life and economy of the region. He competently dealt with both the fascinating and challenging aspects of the history of the area. I would definitely recommend him to anyone and would take the tour again.

What a great way to spend a couple of hours in Charlottetown. Josh is an amazing guide - highly knowledgeable, pleasant and truly proud of his home and family history in PEI. From the history of the province including trivia and facts (fires, the sidewalks, how PEI got its name, etc), Josh’s tour had it all, accompanied by pictures he shared with us. The time flew by. I highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to spend an entertaining couple of hours while visiting Charlottetown.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Josh! He’s incredibly knowledgeable about the city and province, and we learned so much about its people, history, and culture. We’re also very grateful that he took the time to answer all our questions - we had a lot!
Josh is very kind (like all locals we met on the island!) and the tour was one of the highlights of our PEI trip. Highly recommend for those interested in learning more about the island!

Our tour took place on a lovely Saturday afternoon. Our tour guide Josh is a seventh generation native islander. He was very knowledgeable about the island. He was well informed, responsive and approachable, giving us ample historical references. We would highly recommend this tour.

Really enjoyed the tour today with Josh. He is very knowledgeable and conveyed a genuine interest in sharing that knowledge with us. Gave a great overview of PEI and I feel I know the province a lot better because of him and this tour. Great value for the money. Also gave superb advice on places and restaurants to visit.

This was an outstanding walking tour. Josh, our tour guide, is a 5 generation native of PEI and provided detailed, interesting facts and anecdotes about Charlottetown and vicinity. He even had printed maps, diagrams and other information to illustrate his talk. I left the tour feeling I had an insider's perspective regarding the dynamics and goings-on of this beautiful city. Highly educational and fun! Strongly recommend.

Josh was very knowledgeable about the historical context. Felt like stepping back in time while on the tour.
Recommendation would be pace of speed between stops, keeping an eye to gauge the group’s walking pace.
Overall was very pleased with Josh’s, tour. If thinking of going, book while there is still availability left.

Josh did a great job on this 2 hour walk. He gives a good blend of Canadian, island and local history, interspersed with great personal stories.
The tour takes about 2 hours and at most stops there is a spot to sit, if you want. He offers interesting commentary about past and present social issues and the challenges of climate change.
At the end, he kindly offers to stay in touch by text if we have any later questions or want recommendations for places to visit or eat.
Josh is an interesting guy, with a love of his home that he is eager to share.
Highly recommend this tour.

Entertaining, engaging and most of all knowledgeable tour guide. If you're looking for a personalized story of the island and an enjoyable walk while experiencing just the right blend of history and modern knowledge discussed in a charming manner this is absolutely worth it. Thanks for a great couple of hours. 5/5 would recommend.

I just left a review. Your tour was incredible and gave us such a wonderful start to our time in Charlottetown. I really don’t know how you could make it better. I loved the variety of stories that you provided. You seemed very in tuned with your group. The pacing of your sharing was easy to listen and follow. I also liked how you provided the good, bad and ugly of the history. Very interesting! Thank you Josh🤗
We hope that you and your family had a wonderful time at the beach

I would love to take the tour on 9/30. When I tried to register as one senior, I was told that there was no availability. However, I could register as two adults for either the 10 AM or 2 PM tour. I would like to take the 10 AM tour as I will be on a cruise and the ship leaves at 4 PM. Thank you.
