- Jul_1969_160 contributionsTake this tour!Amazing historical tour of Montreal by bike! Our guide Mike was fun & knowledgeable, and kept us all safe as we bicycled through different neighborhoods of Montreal! If you can ride a bicycle, you can do this tour. We got to see SO much more than we would have by walking. All the staff at Montreal On Wheels were very friendly & helpful. This tour is well worth the price!Written October 6, 2024
- cathybI7387QQ0 contributionsBest Montreal Experience! Our favorite activity in Montreal! We learned about architecture, history, culture and the bike system! Our leader Mike, was a semi retired professor with McGill University. Extremely knowledgeable about everything Montreal, and very enthusiastic which made it fun!!!Written September 21, 2024
- lauriebL9472LI0 contributionsDo this first when visiting Montreal!Mike is a phenomenal tour guide. He knows the city and its history very well. He was engaging and answered all our questions. Definitely recommend as one if the first things you do when visiting Montreal!Written September 14, 2024
- Adrianne W0 contributionsGreat experienceMike was outstanding, knowledgeable and fun. We highly recommend the e-bike tour because there are two sections of extreme hills. I would not have been able to bike up those two hills but the e-bike made it possible. I’ve had 7 knee surgeries and was still able to have a great time. I only wish they had more choices of bikes that are for short or small women’sWritten September 4, 2024
- karendN973CF0 contributionsMike on a bike is the way to tour! The bike tour was wonderful - a bit of history and lots of interesting facts were shared. Our guide was Mike and he was absolutely fantastic- funny, clever, well informed and a bike lover. Everyone should be lucky enough to be guided by Mike💙!Written September 4, 2024

- Michael D0 contributionsWonderful view of the city with a great tour guideGreat bikes and an even better guide. Mike was superb. Easy spot to walk to from our hotel, right in the main tourist district. Bikes were easy to use and even better after the tour we could use the bike till 6pm. We got to see a lot of montreal and then we biked by ourselves to the top of Mt royal. Mike knew a ton about montreal and had a good path for us. The city is very bikeable. Oh plus we got a free drink and snack, not sure if that is normal. Some improvements I would suggest. 1) give better clothing guidance. At the shop it was fairly warm, but the rivers and bridges were much cooler. Bring a windbreaker. 2) did not like the mixed language tour. It's a big waste of time and frustrating to repeat everything twice. Ask to see if they have an all English or all French tour.Written August 21, 2024
- T2081JCbobw0 contributionsI Made It Out AliveAs probably the weakest of the group, I was very comfortable with the ride. Truth be told, most were on electric, we weren't. Not many hills. Didn't crash. Mike was as good a guide as one could ask. Going through the neighborhoods taught us a lot about the history and culture. If you can, ask for Mike as the tour guide. He was delightful and imparted so much knowledge along with putting safety first.Written August 17, 2024
- E1277QNlolaa0 contributionsGreat intro to Montreal! Our tour guide, Mike, was friendly and knowledgeable. He control provide interesting facts about Montreal and helped us see various examples of how the city has changed over time. We would highly recommend this tour.Written August 14, 2024
- Olya K0 contributionsBest Way to See the CitySuch a great way to see the city and learn about its history and architecture while doing something fun outdoors together. Mike was our tour guide and he was exceptional - very knowledgeable, focused on safety and made sure to engage every member of the group. The staff at the shop were super friendly and helpful. The options to keep bikes thru rest of the day after the tour was a nice feature too - we ended up biking to Mt Royale and exploring the massive park on bikes.Written August 3, 2024
- jeffdX3866AF0 contributionsGreat service!Great service! Everyone there so was courteous, friendly and helpful! Especially the guys getting the bikes for us and taking our returns. They showed us how to use the bikes, made sure they were set up , and kept asking if we needed a water bottle. The guide, Pasquale, was superb and very knowledgeable! He really knew his stuff!Written July 29, 2024
- Jet653393337350 contributionsMy experienceIt was great! The trail was awesome and biking on the F1 track was a new and exiting experience. One of the bikes we were using did break but they sent some out to fix the bike and we were back to biking In 8 minutesWritten July 28, 2024
- davidpP5601CN0 contributionsHandling issues with good customer serviceI want to commend this company for addressing the issues we had with our bikes. My chain and my son's chain had multiple problems during our rental, and we raised this concern with the company. They promptly offered us a full refund without further inquiry. We appreciate their acknowledgement that we were not provided with the full biking experience. Despite the inconvenience, we still enjoyed biking around Montreal – it's a fantastic city for biking.Written July 27, 2024

Amazing friendly and helpful staff. I lost my phone on the ride just before having to go to the airpot to return home. The staff went out of their way to reassure me and help get the phone back. Really lovely to be looked after so well.

Rented bikes and rode a good deal - Canal Lachine and back around to see the rapids, lunch at Atwater Market. Rented for the day. Great way to see Montreal. Next time we will bike"inland" to Mount Royal neighborhoods. There is a lot of good biking in Montreal. Best parts- very reasonably priced, able to reserve on-line, great hours, and decent bikes. And location....these guys are right where you want to get on the bike path. Highly recommend.

Hi,
Thank you for your review and for recommending us.
The large majority of our rental fleet is renewed every year. So we start the season with brand new high quality bikes. Our location in historic old part of town and right on the bike paths giving easy access to the trails of Lachine canal and river bank, the islands and Mount Royal park to name a few. We do recommend our online reservation site for special discount not available in store.
Thank you again for your comments and your reservation with Ça Roule Montreal * Montreal On Wheels.

The quality of the bicycle (tandem) we rented was mediocre. It was old, no oil on the bike chain and not well ajusted (especially the bike speeds). The price we paid was way too expensive for what we got (in comparison with many other similar experiences).

When planning my husband and my Montreal trip Ca Roule was mentioned in many resources as the place to rent bikes. I can see why. I called to ask some questions about which bikes to rent for riding down the Lachine Canal trail. They were extremely helpful in their recommendations, encouraged me to take advantage of the online 10% booking discount and assured me they would provide a trail map to help us navigate unknown territory. On the morning of our reservation they reviewed our route and warned us of construction detours. They gave a little instruction and set us free. The route took us longer than expected since we stopped at Marche Atwater and bought picnic food to enjoy at the Park. Well, we did get a little lost too on the detours. 🙃 When we returned we were a good half hour late but they did not charge us for going over the time limit. Now that is good service!

4 of us rented 4 bike (3 touring and 1 e-bike) for a 7 day trip from Montreal to Quebec City and back.
From booking right to the return this company did a great job of making things easy. The bikes were perfect for touring and came equipped with racks for our panniers and a choice of pedal options. The staff were helpful and thorough during setup and took the time to make sure each bike fit properly. We are experienced cyclists and were pleasantly surprised at how well the gear ran and the service was delivered.
Had a flawless week long rental and enjoyed ourselves. Would use this company again and can highly recommend.

In short, highly recommended. As far as I know, the only bicycle rental shop which has good road bikes.
I rented a bike twice from them, once hybrid comfort bike ( many years ago) and a road bike (April 2019). I wanted to rent a good bike as I planed to go for a long-ride with cycling friends living in Montreal. I searched around and found that this is the only place with a good road bike. They also have wide selection of other kinds of bikes, so you'll find what you are looking for.
I rented an Argon 18 light road bike with Look pedals (they also have Shimano and Time pedals, and of course non-binding pedals). The bike was close to new, with well -maintained gear (Shimano 105) and brakes. Also the bike came with two tubes in case of flat tires and a portable pump. Helmet rental (Good Lazer helmet) is included. They adjusted the seat post for me so that the seat is at appropriate height. I can tell they know what they are doing. Seems like it's a local bike shop that services the local community as well (I saw several local customers), which is a good sign, especially when the bike shop is in a very touristic location (on Old Port), and just do touristic business. I rode for about 75 kilos in one morning (including a climb to Mount Royal) and 100km in 24 hours without any issue with the bike.
The only thing I was a bit frustrated is that they offer 10% discount for online reservation, but it is not automatically applied (I suppose they can and should). But apart from thsi minor complaint, I am happy with the quality of the rental and the service provided and would come back again when I ride in Montreal again.

we choose a tandem bike which was hilarious to try and manage. Montreal is a pretty hilly city so we ended up having to walk the bike around a lot. i probably wouldn’t do a tandem bike again. they obviously have regular bikes to choose from. but it sure made for some laughs. we rented for about 4 hours and it was around $50! pretty reasonable

Oct 2017 • Friends
My friend and I rented bikes for just a couple of hours on a warm October morning. We were set up quickly by the friendly staff and off on our way down the Lachine Canal toward the Atwater Market with a map in hand. My friend had not been on a bike in years but quickly felt comfortable and we had a great time. Some of the turns on the bike paths are not especially well marked so take good look at the map before you set out. I would definitely do this again with a guided tour.
