As part of a congregational group tour of Montreal we took the the two walking tours of Montreal Jewish History: Making Their Mark with Josh and Rabbis, Radicals and Writers with Trish, Both tours were engaging and very informative with visits to various sites in the Plateau and Mile End neighborhoods linked to local Jewish history,, culture, social and religious themes. Both guides were enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The Museum is a very small space but the organization emphasizes it's tours and online presence. Overall, a worthy effort deserving of support.

What a great walking tour. If we didn’t take this tour, we might have simply passed through this neighborhood without knowing the rich history of the Jews of Montreal. Our guide Ben was so friendly and informative. He told us the museum is only 3 years old and I am so glad we were able to join this tour and support the
Museum. There is also a gift shop with a nice book selection, as well as restroom, tables and refreshments. We highly recommend!!!

My dh and I signed up for this tour the same day as it was offered. When we arrived we found out we were the only two signed up for that time. We ended up getting our own private tour which was awesome. Emma, our guide, was a wealth of knowledge and shared it with us in an interesting and fun manner. The tour lasted approximately two hours. We didn’t stray too far from the original meeting place though and moved at an easy pace. The sites and history were fascinating! It was well worth the price! And the coffee afterwards hit the spot!!! We would highly recommend this tour!

We enjoyed the Jewish history walking tour with Ben, our knowledgeable guide. He made the tour interesting with period photos, stories from the past and personal insights. A great way to see a small part of Montreal, staying active, and learning something new. Highly recommend eating at Schwartz's deli afterwards.

The tour guide, Cassie, a young lady with a great presence, was dealing with a group made up of several college professors. She was able to answer detailed questions with very specific facts. Her knowledge of the history of the Jewish population in early Montreal was quite extensive. My wife and I enjoyed every minute of the tour with Cassie.

My husband and I found the walking tour of the Plateau neighborhood informative beyond the Jewish content. Our great guide, Casserina, provided us with an understanding of how this specific history fit into the overall history of Montreal. She also offered personal insights that amplified the historical information and struck a balance between fielding the many questions put to her by the members of the group and the need to keep moving. A highlight of our first visit to Montreal!

Really excellent! Offered perspective and a real appreciation for what Jews had to go through to get a foothold in the New World, weaving together the dimensions of living conditions, culture, social life, social services, working conditions, language, politics, faith, language and interaction with other immigrant groups to create a vivid community portrait. Our guide was knowledgeable and personable, registration was easy, water was provided on our very hot day and the tour was just the right length. Highly recommended.
