About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 887coreyb0 contributionsBuyer Beware. Shady business practices ruined the experience. They changed Biosphere from pink to blue attraction during our trip without even an email to notify which made us miss out on the tower attraction. Called asking to refund the one attraction and they refused. They were caught as the attractions I had written down along with blue / pink and confirmed several times prior to trip. Shady business practices would never use. The only attraction worth doing is biodome, the rest were a rip off. Save your money and go elsewhere.Written September 5, 2023
- Thomas V0 contributionsTourism OptionThis is an option for visitors that may work for you. It did not for us as we prefer to do some research in books and on line and just find history on our own.Written November 29, 2022
- harrycdb0 contributionsMTL passport is terrible waste of money and time - and staff unhelpfulBiggest mistake we made in Montreal was buying the MTL Passport. First, we hoped it would save us money. But it turned out that about half the attractions listed weren’t even open (eg the modern art museum, the bateaux mouche, etc) so we barely used the card and ended up spending nearly three times as much on the card as we would have on separate tickets to the attractions. Second, we thought it would save us queueing - but we still had to queue at every attraction to convert our card into tickets. Thirdly if you lose a card, even though you’ve registered the card and have the receipt and the details, they will be no help whatsoever- we asked in one office, who directed us across town to the Vitrine office, where the woman said her boss was on holiday and she couldn’t help. So $113 completely wasted and a pointless morning traipsing around town from office to office for nothing. And lastly the registration process takes ages and doesn’t accept any phone number unless it’s Canadian (Yet this is meant for tourists)! - and yet registering doesn’t seem to achieve anything except giving them your data. All in all a massive waste of time and money. Don’t waste yours!Written April 21, 2019
- Staceyann T0 contributionsblends well with surroundingThe building is easy to miss during the day because it is not lit like during the night or like the pictures. Once you find it everything is ok from there. Customer service is very helping with questions you may have.Written September 6, 2018
- Darrylswife07010 contributionsHelpfulI went to La Vintrine Culterelle to pick up my tourist pass and get some information about sightseeing. The gentlemen at the desk was extremely helpful. The building is located right on the corner. It's difficult to realize that when you're walking.Written May 9, 2018
- Pam F0 contributionsMontreal City PassDrove downtown through lots of road construction to find this place. (Thank Heavens for GPS!) There is no parking in the area, so I pulled over on a side street and turned on my flashers while my husband ran inside to pick up the passes. The pass offers 23 different sites to visit for a reasonable price. We arrived on Monday, and about half of the attractions were closed on Mondays. Luckily, we were staying for a couple of days, so this didn't affect us. All of that aside, the pass was great. We visited several of the attractions, and the pass paid for itself. One of the nicest perks was the free Metro rides. All of the attractions are close to Metro stops, so we had no trouble visiting all we wanted to. (Plus, the Metro is probably the nicest I've used - clean and easy to negotiate.) I highly recommend buying the Montreal Pass!Written August 19, 2017
- nichinam0 contributions72 hour pass - Chip not working/Attractions closedWent to pick up the 72 hour MTL pass from here. Unfortunately, when we tried the pass at the first metro, the chip was not working. Had to walk back to this place and get another separate chip based card for public transportation. Customers could be saved of such hassles if the chip cards could be checked by the staff prior to handing over to customers. 6 of the 22 attractions listed in the brochure were closed. Sadly, the centre only informed us of a few. So we ended up travelling all the way to the Olympic Stadium and Tower only to find it closed for repairs! These guys certainly don't care a damm for their customers.Written April 27, 2017

I'm so happy that we got the 72-hour pass with Metro access. My husband and I decided to get the pass because it covered a number of the museums that we wanted to see. In the end, we saw twice as many museums as planned, including amazing places that we never would have gone to otherwise.
The pass is active for 72 hours after first use, so plan accordingly and look at the schedules for museums. The pamphlet that we got with the pass does not include all of the many participating museums, so look online for a more complete list so that you can see ALL of your options.
We ended up using the pass for Centre D'Histoire De Montreal; Point de Calliere; the Botanical Garden; the Dufresne Museum; the McCord Museum; Olympic Park; Olympic Tower; the Planetarium; Musee de Beaux Arts, as well as many Metro trips.

Great pass. Would have been useful to be able to pick it up from the airport as we had to buy a bus ticket there to get to the Vitrine Culturelle in the city centre. If you arrive in the afternoon, I would suggest you start your pass the day after. We could only use it for 2 days because we were too tired to use it when we first arrived from England and wanted to go to sleep! If you can stay 3 full days, it is perfect! The Observatory entry was a little hidden under a towerblock but keep looking for it, it was more or less empty up there and well worth it. The Mc Cord museum has some amazing Native Americans beadwork and clothes and headwear! Absolutely fantastic! The cruise was great but bring some insect repellant as mosquitos are everywhere on the river! We used our travel pass to go everywhere, by bus and by underground. Well worth the price.

I got the 48hr Montreal Passport, it made getting to see the city so easy, especially giving it gave unlimited use of public transport. It covers pretty much all the attractions you want to see in the city, and you will definitely get value for money. I recommend getting this if you visit Montreal!

This offers much less than a few years ago. Still may be worth if that’s what you want to do. I reviewed various options and came out better by buying the Montreal Museum Pass and pay cash for the additional attraction we visited.

My wife and I had sat down in advance of our trip to Montreal and worked out what we really wanted to see, as well as the individual costs of entry. So it seemed that we would get our money’s worth. BUT...what we did not read anywhere was that, during Montreal school holidays, a number of things—such as the Museum of Fine Arts—are free. Yep, free, gratis and fer nuthin’. It is also the case that the sites included in the Passeport are often quite some distance from each other, so one really needs to work out a strategy for seeing things within the 48 or 72 hours. In the end, only 4 of the places we visited were charging admission; thus we lost money on the deal—even with using the Metro. So, unless your penchant is for cramming in as much as you can possibly see in two to three days, then the Passeport MTL is not such a good deal—especially for families, as children are often admitted free of charge. Remember, you read it here!

This is absolutely the best pass you can buy as a tourist to see Montreal. I was in town for 3 days and I was able to see every site. Had I not purchased the pass it would have cost me hundreds of dollars to get into the locations. Make sure you reserve it well in advance of your travel date because they are limited supply. I tried to get one for my first day here and I was unable to do so. The Contemporary Art Musuem only had one exhibit open but it was still worth the trip. My travel mate didn't buy one I think she paid about $250 out of pocket and didn't take advantage of some things I did because it was too expensive.

Without any expectation from a first-time tour of Montreal, I booked this to make the most of 3-days before I extended the trip into another part of the city. The card arrived by mail in about a week and a half and the instructions were simple and corresponded to the details on the website. The online APP is just a repeat of all of the paper information. This card was the ultimate trip planner and VIP transport lifeline rolled into one. You can pretty much review your favourite map of central Montreal and divide your included destinations by location clusters and by the time you expect to spend at each one, and weather, etc., and predicting meals in between. For example, from what's available, I chose the following over three days, not including extra self-chosen itinerary:
Entry/Admission - Olympic Park (Parc olympique)
Entry/Admission - Biodome de Montreal (Walked by... renovations in progress)
Entry/Admission - Montreal Botanical Gardens (Walked by)
Entry/Admission - Montreal Insectarium (Walked by... renovations in progress)
Entry/Admission - Olympic Stadium
Entry/Admission - Rio Tinto Alcan Planetarium (1 of 2 movies)
Entry/Admission - The Montreal Tower / La Tour de Montreal
------------
Entry/Admission - Biosphere (Biked around the outside and entire Helen and N.Dame Islands using rentable BIXI bicycle)
Entry/Admission - Casino de Montreal
Entry/Admission - Centre d'Histoire de Montreal
Entry/Admission - Grevin Montreal
Entry/Admission - Observatoire Place Ville Marie
Entry/Admission - Place Ville-Marie (Shopping Mall)
Entry/Admission - Zipline in Old Port
Entry/Admission - Quad Bike in Old Port
Entry/Admission - Bateau-Mouche
Entry/Admission - La Vitrine culturelle (Walked by)
Based on the selections above, I estimate that I used at least $170 worth of admissions and perhaps $36 of subway and $3 of bus. There are several destinations that I chose not to go to, but you can see how this MTL Pass is valuable if you stick to a daily plan. The less you use, the more value you loose... it's your choice; be creative and have fun.

I used the pass solo while my husband was on business, and I saved SO much money. I did the 48 hour pass and got 3 days out of it. The clock on the 48 hours starts on your first use of the card (not on buying the card), so I did my first experience around 1pm, so that day I did 3 or 4 things, then the next day had the whole day to do stuff, then the third day I hit the Stewart Museum in the morning then went to La Ronde by noon, so I got the rest of the day at La Ronde, in total turning my “48 hours” into 3 full days.
To get the most out of it, definitely PLAN YOUR DAYS. The map that MTL tourism provides is super helpful because you see which things are physically close to each other.
Two things to write on your map when planning: opening/closing hours, and days of the week each place is closed. A lot of the things included are closed on Mondays, a few also on Tuesdays.

This pass is such a great deal and provides the opportunity to visit so many museums and other attractions in Montreal. It also includes public transportation; we extensively used the Metro on one day so we could feasibly get to several locations during the hours of operation. These pictures are from a few of the places included with the pass. This gave us a small taste of Montreal!

I'm going to MTL with my 10 month old baby and partner. Will we be able to go to all these places or is it easier to rent a car and go to only major places? I' haven't taken public transportation in years..

No, it does not. We were in Montreal for 5 days. The only attraction we paid for was the Aura show at the Basilica. The pass covered everything else. So worth it! The Aura at the basilica show was awesome, but I thought it was a little spendy for the 20 minute show.

Hi, Visiting Montreal in 2 days. Can we still buy the pass? Are they printable? Digital?
Written August 11, 2019
It’s a physical card. If you’re going in 2 days you need to buy it in person. It’s only sold at a few locations, you can find the spots on the passeportmtl website (can’t link it here but it’s passeportmtl for com /sales)

"Passeport MTL" provides an contacts under the "Terms and Conditions" section of their website. The posting guidelines do not permit me to provide the information here.
Many destinations that are included mention "An admission," rather than multiple, however, there are some destinations that have room for more than one person such as a canoe, or quad bicycle.
You raise a good point for inquiring because the "MTL Passport" is likely based on an adult admissions and you might be able to save even more money by paying cash for the 'wee' little ones. For example, the Montreal Subway called "STM" reads:
"Up to five children 11 and under travel free when accompanied by an adult with a valid fare card."
Maybe call STM to verify that an "MTL Passport" qualifies. I submit that the "MTL Passport" is incredibly easy to 'tap' and use at the STM subway stations.

Ciao! Si parte con la guida dal punto di incontro ? Ci sono guide di lingua italiana o solo inglese?
Written July 16, 2019
Nope, all same price. When it came to the individual ticket prices for the places I went to with the pass, didn’t notice much of a price difference (if any) for children vs adults. If anything, kids were the same price as students, and I would’ve paid individually for student prices and I still save a ton.
