About the operator
- Pamela F00Madame Morphine is not to be missed!Madame Morphine was spectacular! She interacted with our group, using humour and wonderful theatrical presentation to bring the interesting stories of Montreal to life. MM was very knowledgeable and answered any questions we had. The 90 minutes flew by.
- DORITA6300amazing city and surroundingsamazing city and surroundings. so many children activities, walks, nature, city, parks. we visited Quebeq city and Ottawa , so woth a trip
- adventuresmom00Chasse aux fantomes was a fun field tripChaperoned some grade 9 students on a field trip to the old port and took part in the Chasse aux fantomes. Basically each group was given a map they had to follow, (maybe a little over an hour total?) Following their maps, the group would walk a couple blocks til they met a ghost who would reenact their stories and timely deaths. The actors did a phenomenal jobs. (enough for the masons who were supposed to be working to stop and listen to the ghost below them). 4 ghosts total, very different in personalities and showmanship were all very good. Our students werent great listeners, but the delivery of at least 2 of the performances were good enough to draw them back in. Pros: some good historical information delivered through gory death stories. Well done actors. Cons, of the 2 who were organizing the whole thing, the male was competant and pleasant. The young lady was not a people person and should maybe rethink switching places with one of the ghosts instead of being the first person people deal with. Not sure if this was supposed to cover some sightseeing as well, if so it wasnt the case. Fun group activity for a theatrical performance of some gory montreal history. (Definetly 12+)
- Lara T00LOVEDMy friends and I always book ghost tours wherever we travel. We have seen these kinds of tours in places like Prague, Paris, Warsaw, London, Toronto, and Ottawa. This was a special one for us because although we have all moved away, we grew up in Montreal. Our tour guide was a ghost by the name of Lady Edith. Her energy and good humour were wonderful. She had our whole group laughing. I should mention here that this is an “all ages” tour so although you get to hear rather macabre stories the tour guide keeps it light. You won’t be shaking in your boots and yours kids will be able to sleep in their own beds ;). We were very pleased to learn so much history. Some of it we already knew, but Lady Edith made the stories new again with her zany sense of fun. I would definitely recommend this tour for kids over 10 and all adults. Ghost tours are a fun way to learn about the places you are visiting, but with actors, costumes, and props, the Montreal Old Port Ghost tour really stands out. (Lady Edith needs a better wig though.) Things to note: -This is a walking tour. Bring comfortable shoes and appropriate clothing. The tour is approximately 1.5 hours of almost constant walking. -The tour is offered in both French & English. -We always tip our tour guides if they do a good job. I recommend you do the same. These are working actors and I am 100% sure that they appreciate being appreciated. My only issue with this tour is that I wish it was longer. I know there are more spooky stories about the Old Port and I absolutely love a good walk (Especially after eating all the amazing food on offer in Montreal). Maybe you guys should offer a longer tour during peak season. Thank you Lady Edith! RIP.
- JCAU9900Not Our Cup Of TeaThe actor did a good job acting but my wife and I didn’t feel like the tour was on par with other tours we have experienced in other cities in other countries. The ghost tour was more of a performance rather than a retelling of specific ghost sightings which we were anticipating. It was fine for what it is. If you are wanting a fun theatrical performance based in old Montreal set around gruesome tales, this if for you.
- Renee Z00Lack-luster tourThe tour itself was 1.5 hours long. Our guide seemed difficult to hear a lot of the time, despite being right beside him. He was in character almost too well - every once in a while he'd let out a scream or shout really loud. It startled - didn't scare, it was just annoying. We DID learn about Montreal's history, but wasn't a fan of the delivery of the tour. Perhaps if we had a different guide, the experience would be different.
- V2231JSlorir00Old Montreal Ghost TourWe took a group of 14 including 8 teens from 13-22 years old. Mr. “E” was very entertaining and fun. It is a fun way to learn history and see parts of the city that are not on a tradition tour. Not scary but fun and entertaining with legends and stories!
- paulmS9536TW00Charming and enchanting way to tour Old Montreal! We had never been on a "ghost tour" before, so had few expectations. We were looking for a fun, entertaining way to learn more about Montreal, and in that regard, the Old Montreal Ghost Tour was entirely successful. The city is lovely at night and we had perfect weather. The walk is easy without any stairs or difficult obstacles. The distance is about a total of several city blocks and there are numerous stops. If you are likely to be tired, bringing a portable folding chair may be helpful. Our guide was incredibly entertaining and made the stories come to life. We were concerned about how dark and scary the stories might be (we had our 13 year old son with us), but they are fairly tame. No nightmares and there are no unpleasant surprises. We had a great time and certainly recommend the tour. Cheers!
- jonathan k00The Ghost TourThe tour was excellent. The tour guide Mr E worked hard to engage all people and to make it as exciting as possible. Mr E acted throughout the tour and it was apparent he had thought out his character and dove into it. I would recommend it for most. It was not as “grisly” or “gory” as it could have been but it was a tour for all ages. Kind regards, Jonathan
- chuckr12700Very engaging tourWe had fun on this walking tour despite a long day. The guide was engaging and full of great stories (true?) and tales about the haunted side of Montreal. A lot of fun for the kids.
- mhershey00Informative and fun-- thanks Franklin!Franklin gave us the English version of the ghost tour, which started near Notre Dame Basilica and ended at the opposite end of Old Montreal. Zigzagging through little alleys and letting us sit on stairs and such, Franklin wove Montreal history into his stories of interrogations, plague, murder, and disasters. His mysterious delivery and his use of audience members in the stories made them extra funny and relevant to all. Recommended to all over the age of 10 or so.
- Lionel O00AmazingOur hostess was incredible and the stories were great, we learned many interesting things. Thanks a lot!
- Lesmancer00Fantomes Montreal Ghost WalkOur guide was friendly, the walk was nice, and it started and finished on time. The stories and their delivery could use some improvement. We left feeling unsatisfied.
- danipowersmith1400Wonderfully entertaining walking tour!We had Mr. E as our guide and he was phenomenal. We were also lucky enough to be near one of the other guides as he told his ghost story and was equally entertaining and knowledgeable. The Ghosts of Montréal tour is great for adults and kids alike and takes you on a great tour of old Montréal and is thoroughly enjoyable, mixing spooky and morbid with a hint of humour and modernity. DON'T FORGET TO TIP YOUR GUIDE!
- Tina E00A great time! Our guide was very knowledgeable, witty and outgoing. My young teen (12 and 15) really enjoyed themselves. Thank you so much.

Our spooky guide for the night was Franklin (only Frank to his friends! 😁) He was one of the best ghost guides I’ve ever had; and I have an Aunt who does this for a living!
Franklin really committed to a quirky, funny, clever, unique character and was full of fascinating tidbits and ghost stories with hidden historical gems.
He was clearly very knowledgeable about the different time periods and ways of life in Montreal during the different ones we explored.
He always made sure the group could keep up, always tried to include us in his tale-telling, and while he added flair to his tales, it was never melodramatic or silly.
We had a glorious time! And personally for me, who dabbled in theater a lot in my youth; it was wonderful to see someone so clearly in their theater element! 🎭 From the outfit, to his clear body language, to incorporating his cane as a useful prop during stories (AND as a way to let us know where to follow him: “This way!” *tap tap*), Franklin has a real gift as a guide, ghost, and historical actor. ☺️👏👏❤️ Tres bien! Merci! 👏👏🇨🇦

Tour guide, Franklin, had great dramatic flair and kept up his enthusiasm even when public noise did not agree. We've done ghost tours all over the world, and this is a good one. Broad strokes of macabre history.

We had a great time on the Old Montreal Ghost Walking Tour! We had Madame Morty and she was fabulous. She stayed in character all tonight and was very engaging and funny and actually gave a great history overview, too. Not the type of tour we normally do, but would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone to wants to learn about the spookier side of Old Montreal!

We really enjoyed our Ghost Walk one evening in the week before Halloween. The story teller was truly gifted at story telling. She was inclusive, animated, entertaining and in character all evening. We enjoyed the walk through Old Montreal as well. We’ve done other ghost walks across Canada (Ottawa, Kingston, Vernon and Victoria). This walk definitely stands out as one of the best.

The exact meeting location was a little hard to find but our guide found us (and the others trying to find the spot) and brought our group together. The guide was friendly and the group was just the right size. We were guided through old Montreal and given some history and stories. The unusual request was that we not take pictures until we reached a certain spot? We were told by our earlier guide that the ghost tour guides were “professional” actors/actresses. We enjoyed the tour and would recommend it to others.

Bonjour,
Thank you for this lovely review! We are very glad you had a good time on your tour. As I'm sure you understand, we do ask to wait to the end of the tour to take pictures to let the actors do their act and get everyone's attention. They are professionals, after all! We hope to have you with us again soon!
Best,
Fantômes Montréal Ghosts.

Highly recommend. The tour with Franklin (my friend Frank now) was great! His storytelling was captivating and the little tour through old Montreal only left me wanting to know more about the history and hear more ghost stories. A smaller group, longer tour with more stories would be awesome. The hour and a half flew by.

Natasha is an amazing storyteller! She even managed to give us a jump scare right in the beginning which was fun. My sister and I both enjoyed the tour and would definitely recommend it. You also get to learn about some of the history of Old Montreal and the founding of the city which was also very interesting. Thank you for the fun tour!

Frank(lin) was awesome! He totally kept our interest with some dramatic flair, while telling us the stories of the more tragic version of Montreal’s history. He included the group on some of his stories, by asking for participation. I enjoyed assisting with his demonstration of the old French justice system in Montreal. All in all, Franklin’s tour was great, and we would highly recommend!

We had a great time walking around. We had a great time walking around Old Montreal at night, and the stories really helped give some personality and history to the buildings and the sites. Our guide even recommended a restaurant and a museum (both allegedly haunted), and we returned to both the next day.

This was not a great tour. We left the group partway through. The guide was not telling us much in the way of stories, she was more concerned about being dramatic. Another couple said to us “are you understanding any of this?” We’ve done a lot of ghost tours and this one was not up to par.

Probably would not be good for your 6 year old. The stories are pretty long and complex and nothing is really scary. Our guide was really entertaining but that would be the only highlight. Also, a lot of standing and walking.
