Too large of a boat, which fits too many people, to receive much of a guided tour.
What the website describes and what you get are two different things. You get in a long line to enter the boat and are herded onto various locations with little guidance. I had expected to learn more about the history and what we were seeing but it was hard to hear and all of it was just going through the motions rather than being informative. I realized afterwards that this was just a space filler before they got us back and off the boat so they could get ready for the dinner cruise. It's far to large of a boat, with too many people, to make use of it for an informative guided sightseeing tour. The people working on the boat just go through the motions, read a script and it was not very comfortable or informative. Was happy to get off when it was over.

      Exceeded expectations
This experience exceeded my expectations. The combo of the intricate light show and music was amazing. Worth the entrance fee.

      Not So Great
There was no music or DJ as promised! Only diners got some canned music. May demand partial refund. Do not recommend without dinner

      Anchors Away
It was easy to get tickets online. When we checked in for the trip we were surprised to get a ticket for a refreshing beverage. The crew, both onshore and on the boat, were friendly and helpful. The cruise was smooth and the narration was informative. We had a chance to speak directly with the guide and she answered all our questions. A GREAT experience.

Tour was Good but Limited, Drinks were Disappointing
I don't generally like to give out average reviews; however, even though there were interesting things to see and view, in all honesty, I was really expecting more for a 2 hour excursion. The part of the river that we traveled on was limited, but the cruise narration was good. Just a side note, We ordered a pitcher of sangria, and it lacked taste and flavor. It was not very fruity, as one would expect Sangria to be.

It was everything we would want. Timely narration about the history and workings of the harbour. Why was there a photographer on board? Annoying. And she did not even ask permission to take the photos!!!

      Good history lesson
The lady telling the history of Montreal and the sights was excellent, in both languages. However, having booked on line ( expensive) we then had to get a paper ticket, which was not checked as we boarded. The cruise is advertised as being 90 minutes but we spent the first 15 going in a circle Overall, an expensive cruise..

This tour is not worth the money paid. First off tickets can be purchased online and having done so the attendant at the door requires that you still queue in the ticket line up to claim paper tickets before they’ll admit you. The best part is the guy ripping the ticket when getting on the boat didn’t care at all, he was just ripping whatever ticket and letting people on. The boat itself is not great for a tour, the decks are cluttered. The tour guide was very knowledgeable but all of the history was first being shared in French. When it came to the English translation the boat was well past what was being described earlier in French. The tickets provides each guest a free drink but this only includes cheap wine, crappy domestic beer, and soft drinks. Overall the tour isn’t super interesting given the cost. There are far better tours to see in Montreal for much less. Getting on the boat isn’t worth the extra cost at all.

      Total Disappointment
We had toured Notre Dame earlier in the day, and thank goodness we did. We were able to take in its sacred beauty and amazing architecture and art in a reverent atmosphere. We decided to try the Aura experience based on the description of music and lighting which we believed would enhance the superb structure. Upon entering for the 6pm performance we immediately realized that this was not the same space. People were allowing children to turn cartwheels down the center aisle, others were taking posed selfies in front of religious sculptures and art and the whole place seemed to feel wrong. Once the show began (late), the lights didn’t enhance anything and the music was not in keeping with the setting. It felt like Disney World, with fake birds singing and seasons changing, and colored lasers flashing. There was nothing to note the significance of the cathedral. It ended suddenly and the four people in our party couldn’t wait to leave. We felt like it had been so sacrilegious and upsetting to be in that holy space and have it feel violated. I cannot believe the church sanctions this type of event here. In hindsight, I was naïve to not have researched it more thoroughly before paying money for this. What made me realize that it was not just our group was that a young family, who overheard our discussion, stopped us to say that they too felt the same way and were angry that they had wasted their time and money. They were not familiar with the Catholic faith and had hoped there would be more history or backstory about the building and its significance. This is such a missed opportunity for this place and I hope others think twice about paying money for this show.

      Go on a smaller boat!!
The boat was crowded - not enough seats for everyone as outdoors it was free standing chairs and tables - it was chaos with people sitting in every nook and cranny and many people having to stand for the full trip. We managed to perch at the edge of another family’s table. The commentary was totally inaudible as everyone around us was talking at full volume so we learned nothing. The city of Montreal is beautiful - the skyline is not. We saw a lot of shipping containers. Drinks were being served by servers who were struggling to carry them around in the wind - our poor girl lost a tray of drinks with glasses smashing when they were taken by a strong breeze. It was not worth our time or money. Save yourself and do something more worthwhile

      Shipping docs tour
If you want to see shipping docks, this is for you. There are a few good views of the city, but overall, this was very disappointing.

A Boat Ride on the St. Lawrence River
We were late on arrival but the crew ushered us on quickly before the ramp went up and we were on our way. Always an interesting way to view a newly visited city by boat and on high. This was our view of the lovely city of Montreal with The Bateau Mouge River Boat company which provided a smooth and comfortable ride with a good narrative from a first time narrator. He told us it was his first trip and he did well, covering all the highlights and historical points along the way. Recommend this as offering a decent size boat, reasonable price and length of excursion being an hour. The crew were friendly and helpful and even were called to supervise a medical situation on board which they handled with speed and finesse without any interruption to our trip. Tuck this one in as very doable, given there is alot to see and do in this very vibrant, walkable captivating city.

      Spectacular show.
Absolutely stunning. What an experience to watch how gorgeous this church lights up and to show all the beautiful details in woodwork. A must see.

We booked a helicopter tour at 4.30pm on 17th July at AML, and there were numerous problems. First, they made a mistake on the time. When we got the tickets, it literally told us to go at 11.30pm. After I called them, they reschedule our tour to 12.45pm on the same day. And apparently they told us they are not responsible for their mistake and they have nothing to offer to make up for it. So we had to replan everything.

What’s worse, the day we got there, the weather was bad so we called to ask if the helicopter can take off. AML told us they would call us back but they never called back. So we had to take the risk to go there and of course the helicopter couldn’t take off. So we asked for a reschedule, they just simply told us NO. And same for a refund obviously. But they have never written it in a contract or an agreement that there is no refund because of the weather conditions. So customers have to take responsibility for their mistake again. The lady who works there was impatient, rude, and dismissive when we were asking for a refund.

The most ridiculous thing was there is no manager to call in this company. They kept giving us a same phone number to call, which is the number for booking a new tour. So basically, AML has no customer service, no refund, no manager, no department to deal with complainant, only employees to handle booking. Even for booking, they can’t do it right.

I recently took the whale watching tour with AML from Montreal. We saw so many whales. We saw humpbacks, minkes and fin whales. We saw a lot of seals and even got to see some harbour porpoises. The whale watching was fantastic! That being said, we left Montreal at 7:00 a.m. and didn't get back until almost midnight. There was so much driving. We had a 1 hour stop for dinner at St. Hubert and a 30 minute stop in the morning. Otherwise, we were on the bus the whole time. Be prepared for many hours of driving.
