Highlights
Experiencing Quebec City with a guide means you’ll see and understand more
Visit pedestrian-only sites in the heart of the historic city
Follow a gentle, downhill-only route from Upper Town to Lower Town
Finish by the Old Quebec Funicular, which links Lower Town and Upper Town
What to expect
Make your way to a central location in Quebec City’s Upper Town, and then join your guide for a small-group tour of the historic center—a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Set out on foot to running commentary on the modern-day culture and long history of Quebec City, passing stone buildings with a distinctly European feel. You’ll see the Fortifications of Quebec, and learn the important role that the city walls once played. Pass La Citadelle de Quebec (Quebec Citadel), an active military installation and the official residence of the Canadian monarch, then take in Notre Dame des Victoires—one of the oldest stone churches in Canada. Cross Place Royale, often called the birthplace of French America, and wrap up the tour near the base of the Old Quebec Funicular, where you can hop a ride back up to the Upper Town without retracing your steps uphill.

A terrific experience!
Anne was so lovely to be with. She had that nice balance of enthusiasm, historical knowledge, and care/attention to our needs and interests. I left the tour feeling inspired to learn more, and my daughter felt comfortable and empowered by the questions she was able to answer. The pace was excellent. A terrific tour!

We enjoyed our tour with Francis. He was funny and engaging and you can tell he has a true passion for history; Canadian and Worldly.

As a fellow Canadian, but from Ontario, it was nice to learn more about the history of Quebec.

It would been enjoyable to learn a bit more about some of the distinctive buildings that were around us, a little more of the "hidden gems" so to speak, as the tour did feel a bit centred around Château Frontenac.

But all in all, a great tour and I'd definitely recommend it!

Fantastic first day in Quebec City
Jul. 2021
A fantastic first day activity for our family in Quebec City. Our guide Dominique was extremely knowledgeable about the history and architecture of Old Quebec. She was also very personable and able to answer all of our questions. I highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting Quebec City for the first time. It's a great way to learn the history of this great city and understand why things were built the way they were. My two young daughters also had a terrific time.

Old Quebec and so much more
Jul. 2021
We thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Our guide Jocelyne was so knowledgeable and full of information and interesting things about the city. Her pride in her home shines through with every corner we turned. I would highly recommend this tour. The afternoon just flew by. She also recommended a nice place for sangria as well as restaurants.

Highly recommend the walking tour. Great insight into the beautiful city, particularly if you’re visiting for the first time. Was able to visit hidden gems of the city as well as learn the history of Quebec.
Special mention for our guide Dominique. She made the whole experience so smooth, didn’t know where the 3 hours went. She even carried pictures of how the different places we visited looked like in the olden times. You could tell that’s she’s truly passionate about the city and what she does. All in all, great experience.

Great walking tour of Quebec city.
Jun. 2021
The booking was easy to make and we discovered a Quebec city that we had never seen before. Francis, our delightful tour guide, was very knowledgeable and entertaining and presented a history of Quebec in a very interesting and unbiased way.
Francis set a new standard for us on what to expect from a tour guide, and if we find that he does other tours, we would love to do those tours as well. For those who want a very interesting and entertaining presentation, we encourage you to take this tour, even if you have had previous Quebec city walking tours. You will love it, just like we did.
