- Shasta6130 contributionsA great way to gain some perspective and insight about this beautiful city.An excellent, informative tour of Old Quebec. Francis was knowledgeable, humourous, and engaging. The pace was great and the information was plentiful! Thank you!Written March 17, 2025
- butlerm520 contributionsGreat way to see the city! This walking tour of Quebec City was top notch! Our guide was very knowledgeable and shared lots of fun facts about the city and her experience living in QC. Saw so much of the city in just a few hours and was a great starting point for my weekend there. Felt very comfortable after the tour knowing where we were in the city and seeing all the places we walked by and learned about. Would definitely recommend this specific tour, especially as you first get to QC so you can enjoy the rest of your time there with the knowledge acquired after this tour!Written March 5, 2025
- Q3515NWalisond0 contributionsBeautiful city, less about the guideWhat a beautiful city! A walking tour was a lovely way to see the sights. Our guide was knowledgeable and shared much of the region’s rich history with us. Knowing 6 of 7 attendees had plans following the tour, the guide nonetheless extended the tour by 45 minutes (nearly 50%) to recount and show us the key sites of his school days.Written March 3, 2025
- M8593VSamyh0 contributionsFantastic tour, despite the cold!Even though it was brutally cold outside, we still had a fantastic tour! Our guide was incredibly professional, knowledgeable and answered all our questions. This was the 1st activity we did in Quebec City and we left the tour feeling comfortable with the city lay out and more familiar with the city's history. We highly recommend this tour.Written February 23, 2025
- LindaK8930 contributionsFun walking tourA great way to get an overview of this incredibly charming city! It was interesting to hear some of the history of the places we’d been walking past pn our own. There’s no way of getting around the fact that the cobblestone streets are bumpy and uneven; something to be aware of if you use a stroller/walker/wheelchair/crutches.Written February 22, 2025
- B7308MPkatherinem0 contributionsGreat tour with a great guideFrances was a tremendous guide. Full of wonderful history and back stories of Old Quebec. Happy and energetic and we highly recommend the tour and Frances in particular.Written February 22, 2025
- T2081JCbobw0 contributionsGREAT INTRODUCTION TO QUEBEC CITYIt was a fascinating tour of many of the points of interest that makes Quebec City a wonderful place to visit. Our tour guide was superb.Written February 17, 2025
- oceansawayhere0 contributionsWell, balanced tour, engaging enthusiastic guideWell balanced discussion of history of the city, truthfully acknowledging Canada’s past mistakes and Quebec‘s role in history as well as the history of the city. Francis was engaging and enthusiastic, despite having done this probably thousands of times and trying to deliver the talk in the middle of a winter storm starting up! He modified the route to allow us to warm up and keep us out of the wind.Written February 17, 2025
- christS1468YI0 contributionsLearning about Quebec, the City, the Province and Canada. We learned so much about the history of Quebec. The City, the Province, the formation of Canada and their connections with the American revolution. We learned about Champlain’s founding of Quebec City in 1608, and the strategic reasons for his choice of its location. We learned about the numerous attempts by the English to capture Quebec, which succeeded only after the Battle of the Plains of Abraham in 1759, and the subsequent, final unification of Canada. All of this history we learned at various locations in the “Old City” after short walks along cobblestone streets, among centuries old buildings of various ages and diverse local materials. We highly recommend this tour for early in your visit, to improve your subsequent experiences in Quebec City and Province.Written February 15, 2025
- Steve B0 contributionsBlizzard EntertainmentWe took this tour in the middle of a winter storm and it was still great. Our guide Francis was very funny and informative. We made due despite the wind and snow and saw this amazing city in a way we wouldn't have on our own.Written February 15, 2025
- knutzense0 contributionsSpectacular Walking Tour!Words cannot express how much my husband and I enjoyed the city walking tour with Francis. He was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic! He demonstrated a deep understanding and affection for Quebec City. He pointed out landmarks, but also lent understanding into finer points such as architecture & the best places to eat. I ‘ve experienced visiting QC before, and even taken a different walking tour. But Francis was the best! Don’t miss out.Written February 14, 2025

We had a excellent experience with Tours Voir Quebec! On January 27th, 2024 my partner and I took a private tour with our wonderful guide, Dominique. Dominique was very personable, professional, knowledgeable, engaging, and gave us a deeper, more nuanced understanding of the history, architecture, and culture of Quebec City. I think a private tour is a great value if it's in your budget ($200 for up to 7 people). We were able to have richer discussions and focus on topics that most interested us.
Tours Voir Quebec has a great product, booking online was easy, and customer service was very responsive. Seems like a well run organization that can be trusted.

Guide Helen was just great - animated and informative. You don't cover a lot of distance in this tour. It's a lot of standing around. With a group of 14 it was often hard to hear the guide, especially as she would turn and talk to the other part of the group. If you are hard of hearing choose a less popular time (we went at 1:30) when the group is smaller. I'm glad we did not buy the tour with the funicular. It's not a hard walk back to the top (just a walk up several flights of stairs) and if you want to ride the funicular it's just $5 CAN (must pay in cash). There's a currency exchange at the office de tourism where you check in for your tour.

We had a wonderful guide who was very knowledgeable. The three hour private tour was well worth the $. It was cold, snowy and windy out but our guide did a few stops inside. We visited all the major sites in upper and lower city and was given great recommendations on what to see a little outside of the main area. I would recommend doing the private tour over a group tour, we got to ask a ton of questions and get a tailored tour to what we were most interested in learning.

Rejeanne was a wonderful guide! We had already been in Quebec City for a few days (book early - I couldn't get a tour until Sunday after arriving on Friday), and she adjusted her tour to take into account what we had already seen in depth. She was very knowledgeable about the city and its history, but kept it pithy and never lost the interest of me, my husband or our 16 year old. She moved at our pace, and leaned into our areas of interest. I highly recommend the private tour - in a city like Quebec with so much history, you get to hear and experience it all without many people crowding around you in a small space.

Jim D. Jim is fluent in both Quebecois and English. He was very interesting and informative, and gave us a good appreciation of the areas of Old Quebec City, mentioning many historical sites to visit in depth, and recommended places to eat. He was very responsive to our specific questions about the City's history. We were prepared to do more walking, however there was less walking than we expected. (We are very fit late 60s from the mountains.) It was a great beginning for our 3 full days in Q.C. Private tours are the way to go!

We did this on Dec. 31, a very cold day. We had dressed for the weather, but still got really cold. Dominique, our guide, was enthusiastic and knowledgeable with a sense of humor. Her English was very good. The tour was supposed to last about 2 hours, but because we spent more time than planned inside the cathedral hugging the heaters, it took about 2.5 hours. In all, the entire family enjoyed it but we all agreed that the tour could have benefitted from an information edit that would have made it about 45 minutes shorter. Regardless, this was totally worth the time and money, especially when you're properly dressed. We recommend it.

We highly recommend Louise of toursvoirquebec who gave us an excellent 3 hour guided walking tour of Old Quebec City and brought the place alive with her knowledge of the town and all its history and human stories. She was able to answer all our questions and keep us all interested - she also gave us helpful recommendations for restaurants and shopping. The time whizzed by and we could have gone on for hours more!

My husband and I went a nearly half-day private walking tour of old Quebec City with Dominique Lavigueur in December, when the city was decked out for the holidays. She was extremely knowledgeable about the city's history and its buildings and monuments, so enthusiastic, energetic. flexible, fun and bilingual. Dominique met us at the Fairmont Chateau Frontenac, and we took off on foot together. What a memorable tour, a true highlight of our time in Canada.

Carole Parent was the tour guide for this private walking tour. She was affable, informative, interesting and we learned a lot about Canadian history while walking through historic areas. A significant amount of walking was involved and this would be difficult for someone with impaired mobility. In addition to historical sites, we saw street art and learned a bit about the local culture. This was an informative tour and we would recommend this. (We were a group of 5 adults- 2 seniors and 3 in their 30's.)

What do you mean by a private tour? If we sign up will it just be the two of us?

want to book in October. how large a group can you accommodate?

I would assume yes as long as you bring an umbrella.

I tried booking for September, and was quoted $137 for 2 people! Is that because it's so far in advance and you don't have others booked yet? If so, will get a refund of the balance of the ACTUAL amount? When?
Written April 12, 2019
This must be a different tour than the one we took which did not involve any food or drinks.
Written April 13, 2019
Do they do this tour in September?
Written March 20, 2019
I'd like to know the true cost. The price listed is "from" $19.79, but when I went to book it listed $34.99. Please let me know how to book the $19.79 tour and, if there are different prices what the different price levels entail.
Written March 5, 2019
The tours are per person meaning the more people on the tour the less it costs. If you are the only ones booking at that time, you pay the whole guide cost, otherwise it is distributed among all guests.
