- 313leep0 contributionsGreat experienceWe went to Quebec City for Halloween. I love history and Halloween, so this was a must. We really enjoyed it. It was cold an rainy, but the staff gave theirs best. I saw some spot of Quebec that I didn’t know existed. I am also a fact checker. All of it is true.Written November 12, 2021
- ScarletDino0 contributionsMacabre and FunnyGreat time. Perfect weather and a great guide, Valerie. Although we had heard some of the stories before they were told in a very funny macabre way. Very entertaining. Our guide kept things moving and was very personable. Highly reccomend.Written August 31, 2021
- Stefano V0 contributionsFantastic!!Took this tour and had an awesome time! Our guide was Marie Riviere and she killed it! (no pun intended) Definitely will do another tour when I come back to Quebec City. Highly recommend to anyone interested in folklore, history and hidden spots among city streets, just to name a few. Marie was more than happy to answer any questions we had. Check it out for yourself!Written October 3, 2019
- 529nfsb0 contributionsAmazing!!!The tour was a really great experience! We loved the interesting historical facts! Our tour guide Vincent was knowledgeable and humorous! He stayed in character the entire time and did a fabulous job! The other actors and actresses were amazing and played their roles extremely well! They all did a fantastic job! It was a really fun evening and one of the highlights of our vacation! Definitely highly recommended! Another great reason to take this tour is it’s an opportunity to go through some areas you may miss in other tours. It takes you through some back side streets and alternative routes.Written August 31, 2019
- DVDPlayer_130 contributionsEntertaining and great valueThis is a great way to see Quebec City at night with an entertaining story delivered by performer in the character of a immigrant girl. Highly recommended.Written August 28, 2019
- Kate L0 contributionsExcellent Walking TourWe had a lovely host (Katherine) who was charismatic, knowledgeable, and overall a great guide. Such a fun way to see more of Old Town.Written August 19, 2019
- Flo E0 contributionsGreat ghost tour!My family and I had a GREAT time on the ghost tour! My 13 year old daughter LOVED it. The interactive feature of the tour was super fun and added an additional scare factor. We really loved seeing the city at night while being entertained. The actors were just fabulous! I highly recommend this tour as a great night out in the old city.Written August 8, 2019
- agrove7070 contributionsGreat! We loved our tour with Catherine through the streets of old Quebec. She was a great storyteller and really involved the audience members as much as possible. The tour was about 2.5 hours and led us through some parts we hadn’t seen on our day tour. Our kids absolutely loved it (ages 7-12).Written July 28, 2019
- 88Dmac880 contributionsBe nice in New FrenchHighly recommend if you can walk around for about 2 hours. The story line is 1700s onwards an interactive trip into the crimes you might commit and punishment. You will meet some interesting victims?Written July 28, 2019
- RobinTom0 contributionsEntertaining & EducationalMarie Riviere provided entertaining history about New France. She spoke loudly and answered questions. The characters we ran into along the tour were spooky, yet fun. Just a warning, the tour ends in Lower Town so be prepared to walk up to the stairs or take the Funicular if it is still open.Written July 19, 2019
- ktukmanlcsw0 contributionsFabulous and fun (except for weather) Halloween Tour!!!We would highly recommend taking this tour. We did the Halloween tour which was the last tour of the season. We had Marie Revieve (spelling is off) for our guide. She was animated and humorous and fun. It was a freezing nite that only got worse as the evening wore on. It started hailing, then snowing with a fierce wind. The conditions were horrible, truly freezing with the wind. The actors’ level of professionalism and the fact that they never broke character was amazing. Little by little people bailed out of the tour, dropping out when they couldn’t tolerate the weather. At the end there were 6 of us who saw the tour to the end. I can not stress enough how the actors played their parts to the end. The content was so interesting and focused on the dark past of Quebec. Take this ghost tour and it will be one of your most memorable experiences in Old Quebec.Written October 29, 2018
- FromBev0 contributionsValerie was great!Enjoyed the stories, the walking tour and the Guide Valerie. Felt the ending was a bit sudden and awkward with the main character being chained up by her husband- it ended on a low whereas it had been a fun tour. Keep it high energy, no chaining necessaryWritten October 17, 2018
- DaveM53560 contributionsFun in QCA great walking tour with fun stories that recite actual history woven throughout it. Highly recommend it. It was a fun way for me and my 11 year old son to enjoy an evening in Quebec City. Thank you!Written October 2, 2018

Great experience with our guide (I think her name was valerie)! She was full of many stories about the old punishments from colonial quebec. Lots of other good information too!
She kept a group of teenage boys interested for 1.5hrs which is a big challenge!
Just noting that the walk is up and down the big hill around downtown quebec city which seemed to suprise some attendees.

My daughter (17 years old) and I really enjoyed the walking tour, mostly due to our guide. ‘Marie-Riviere’ was animated, very likeable and was knowledgeable about the information she was telling us. We didn’t know exactly what to expect of the tour but we’re glad we went.

Great fun, and some hidden side streets and stories that you may not see or hear otherwise. The guide was quirky, to say the least, insisting on staying in character but with an odd Irish-French accent attempted.
The use of tourists as actors in her stories was odd and often uncomfortable. Better to tell the story than to have guests repeat lines of dialogue.
We were thinking it was too awkward at times, but the history lesson was valuable, and the stories memorable, and once we crept down between 'shared' houses near the water, trudging along uneven cobblestone in dark alleys, we felt a little spooky. All in all, for about $20 US, worth it for two hours of light history.

I wish we had had Fiona or one of the other guides for whom 5-star reviews were given. We based our decision to do this tour based on its many 5-star reviews but unfortunately we got the one incoherent guide another reviewer posted about. We stuck with it for 45 minutes and then walked away. In that time, we learned ZERO about any of the buildings/sites we walked by nor did we hear anything about the history of the area as was noted as one of the supposed highlights of the tour. Instead, she rattled on about various forms of torture and asked the audience members to reenact these forms of torture on each other. Just weird and bizarre and not to our taste or expectation. (Our group was my husband and me, our 25 year old son and our 21 year old son.). Really disappointed because I had genuinely looked forward to this tour as a fun and quirky way to learn about Old Quebec.

Thank you for your comment. We are sorry if the tour was not what you expected. Our guide have all the same script and do the same tour and all of them ask to the audience to reenact, it's a popular part of the tour. We are talking about criminal system during New France period. If you wanted information about area, maybe take a regular walking tour. We have a lot of interesting company for that in Quebec city. We hope you had a great time in Quebec city.

The stories while entertaining and gruseome, were delivered in a pantomime style that seems more suited for kids even though the subject discussed is torture. The actor seemed to flub his lines quite often and a few of the stops along the route had nothing to do with the stories being told.
Could have been a lot better with better scripts and acting.

Our guide Valerie was very entertaining and her English was very good. She was knowledgeable and played the part of the wife of the longest standing executioner in Quebec. It's not really spooky as much as a historic view of punishment and torture with some irony and humor thrown in. She worked hard to keep us engaged and interacted with us regularly. It is not just listening to a guide talk. In my opinion a nice night tour and something fun to do when the museums and shops close. I would recommend this tour to others. A great way to kick off our time here and a fun way to see the city at night with it's beautiful lights! In my opinion a good bang for the buck.

The tour was excellent because it was animated so well by our guide, "Jean" (Guy). Saw parts of the old town we didn't know existed, and were kept so enthralled by the stories that we didn't even notice the time flying by! This is a great tour that should not be missed when you are in old Quebec.

We were part of an English speaking group and suspect that this tour would have been very interesting and more enjoyable with a better guide. The guide that led our group was not a great presenter or story teller in English. Unfortunately over experience was below our expectations. We ended up leaving the tour before it was over.

Katurra tour, directed by Katya, organized a trip for me to Peru, to visit Cusco, Ollantaitambo, MachuPicchu, Lima and Puno. They were 10 days very well organized, everything was excellent, the logistics were very good, nothing was left to chance.
He was available 24 hours a day via WhatsApp, making sure everything was fine.
I am now thinking about taking a trip to Europe and I definitely highly recommend your services.

The tour was fun and interactive. Fiona volunteered us in acting in various parts of history and did bring out some out of their shell. Be prepared to be in your running shoes as the walk is lengthy and at the end, your feet will be prepared to walk back up the hill if your accommodations are back up the hill which is a short mountain.
