Great Walking Tour of Old Quebec City
My wife and wanted to take a walking tour the first morning of our visit to QC. After reviewing various tours, we selected this one. Our tour guide, Peter (of course his name was French for Peter) was very informative and professional. His English was spot on. Highly re: this tour.

    Great tour of old Quebec
Denis provided an outstanding tour of old Quebec. We felt we obtained a thorough history of this jem of a City. With insights to explore other parts more in depth when we had more days to spend. They were very efficient and welcoming.

    Perfect Day
Marie was excellent and the perfect guide for our combo historical/food tour. The knowledge given and the questions answered were superb. The restaurants chosen for the tour were a great choice which represented all the culinary traditions and eclecticism that Quebec has to offer

    Wonderful tour
Wonderful tour! Jocelyn was a very knowledgeable, friendly, welcoming guide. She gave us a clear understanding of Quebec City history, culture, and sociology. Several of our group members, all of them experienced travelers, thought it was about the best tour they’d ever been on. Jocelyn also made several very worthwhile recommendations for other activities in Quebec City. Great tour, great host; you should take this tour!

Do this first when you come to Québec
Yves was our guide and in two hours, he managed to take us from 1534 to present day in an extremely informative yet smooth entertaining way. Our guide was super knowledgeable of the city and its history being a long time resident. We were glad we did this when we arrived in the city. We would definitely do it again.

    A must for foodies
If you are a foodie do not miss this amazing tour. Our guide Lynn was wonderful, so knowledgeable and passionate about the food, history and culture of Quebec. All of the food and drink was excellent. This was our first visit to Quebec and it gave us some great places to go back to over our short visit as we took the tour on our first day. Make sure you are hungry as by the end of the tour you will have had a full meal with desert. Can’t recommend enough.

    Good tour, great guides!
Our guide was amazing! Gave us lots of local knowledge and history along the way. Walking was very doable even when going uphill. Funicular ride was fun and offers amazing views at the top. Walked around more after the tour as Old Quebec is full of shops, restaurants, and pubs.

    Wonderful tour of Quebec City
This was one of the best tours my friends and I have ever been on. Our tour guide, Marie, was fabulous! Being a native of the area, she was extremely knowledgeable on the history and geography of the city. Additionally, she tailored the tour to our interests and even recommended some wonderful places to eat! Bravo, Marie!!! Thank you!!

The narrow streets have that quaint mini Paris feeling. People are bilingual and very friendly Diverse area between Downtown and Upper Quebec. Very interesting.

Our guide Carol was great! Informative and fun! The food was great with a variety of stops for a variety of different local foods. We will go back to the restaurants again if time permits! Lots of great food, and enjoyed hearing the local history!

Brilliant food & historical safari experience
Guy provided myself, my husband & adult daughter with excellent historical tour and a wonderful array of wonderful food at 4 different high quality restaurants with accompanying wine / beer. We all throughly enjoyed it. The highlight being the flambé prawns at le Continental. We would advise anyone not to eat much before the experience !! Thank you Guy 😉

I can’t believe this tour has such a good rating here. All we got was a very rude guide and waste of our money.
We booked the tour many months ahead, we just got one email about the meeting point address and a phone number of the guide. We couldn’t find the meeting point in old Québec although we asked the hotel guide and we used gps and maps, so we called the tour guide.
She was shouting at us telling us the she can’t do anything and why we even called her...I had to hung up since I really didn’t want to get to a verbal battle with someone I haven’t even met or ruin my mood by listening to all those nonsense. One of the local restaurant owner told us he is also surprised that ppl going for this tour since he also found her very cranky.
Maybe we were unlucky with our tour guide or maybe the other reviews are paid. I can’t suggest this experience at all.

Bonjour Mrs. Maryam First, thank you for taking the time to give us a review to let us know your experience. Personally, I’m very sorry that you did not get the chance to attend our gourmet tour on your anniversary day. According to our communication records, we have been in contact with you pre, during, and post of your tour. We contacted you on November 7th 2019 to give you all detailed info about your upcoming experience with us, including departure location, time, guide info, dietary restrictions guideline, and a reminder of time change of your tour. We had received replies from you on the same day. Our customer service agent promptly contacted you on November 11th 2019 once we were notified you did not show at the departure location when the tour begins via your cellphones, texts and emails, in which you did not reply. In the communication, we send you real-time update about your tour status so you could catch up with the group in one of the gourmet stops. Our customer service agent got a text message from you on November 12th 2019 6:27AM, informing us your situation/experience from previous day. We explained to you that “ Sorry to hear that. We have a tight procedure when leading clients back the group when they fail to join in at the departure location. One of the customer services agents usually guide clients to the group. Our guide can not do it because he/she has to take care the rest of the group and he/she probably doesn’t have addresses of the stops in the back of their head. ” We offered you the same tour the next day. Unfortunately you were leaving town. Thus, we offered a partial refund to you to cover your loss. Again, we are sorry we have missed you at the departure location. We need to leave on time to insure a fabulous gourmet experience for everyone deserving guests. We apologize our guide can not take the time to explain to you how to join the group. It is their duty to take care of all guests that were there. We work/worked/will continue our hard work on helping guiding guests to the right departure location. We would have appreciated if you had replied us, so that we could have the chance to make it right. And we guarantee that our tour guides are all great in their own ways, if you let us the chance to show you the city ! As we have told you before, we know this will not cover the loss. But please come back to see us and we will not disappoint you ! Hongying Tang, owner of HQ Services Touristiques inc. HQST.CA Personnel Cell: 418 261 2253 Hongying.tang@hqst.ca

This was the best way possible to start our trip in Quebec City! An incredible way to experience the culture, food, and history of Quebec City in one fell swoop. This was our first time visiting, so we wanted an introduction to the city by an expert.

Denis was our tour guide, and his love for for this city as a local made us fall inlove with it too! His ability of showing us what makes Quebec City so charming is what makes this experience so memorable. He brought the historical landmarks to life with his stories and we learned so much in such a short amount of time.

We asked so many questions and he was extremely knowledgeable about everything Quebec City. The best tour guide to introduce us to the incredible history and beautiful culture here. We definitely will be coming back!

We thoroughly enjoyed this experience and highly recommend this to anyone who would like to be immersed into the culture, history, charm, and beauty of Quebec City.

I rarely write reviews. This time making an exception, because our experience was just amazing. We booked a gourmet tour and Estelle was our guide. She not only showed us these wonderful restaurants, but explained as many interesting historical facts about Canada as possible between the 5 courses. The chefs managed to fill our stomach with the Quebecs best food, but it was our guide Estelle who definitely made us hungry for more history and hopefully next visit. Thanks again for the great time!

I took this tour in late January. I was initially suspicious about the significant price, but by the conclusion of the evening I felt the combination of great food, "mocktails" and occasionally beer as substitutions for wine, and consistently great presentation by the restaurant hosts were worth the event cost.

Our guide was very quick to determine if any guests had dietary restrictions and I appreciated the effort made to substitute wine for an alternate drink at the various venues.

This was an excellent evening and a perfect way to conclude a mini-vacation between Montreal and Quebec City.

We loved our tour! The food was great, the other guests were interesting, and the tour was super interesting. Walking from place to place between courses was good for digestion and our tour guide Denise was so knowledgeable and passionate about Quebec City and it’s history. A great way to spend an evening!

We wanted very much to love this. I had in my mind that they picked the restaurants because they represent different regions and how they're going to talk about food and how it relates to their culture. Turns out it was because these restaurants were available to make a quick buck. The entire experience could be summed up as "eat and run" (wine was so-so). We had to eat in a hurry because the next restaurant had a table waiting. I failed to anticipate that we have to go to 5 different locations (they were apart). We're active adults but it's not easy to walk fast on icy streets at night.
Our very friendly guide simply escorted us from one restaurant to the next. I think 2 out of 5 restaurants gave us info/story behind their food but the rest just dump food in front of us. There was no time for "tour talk" either during mealtime. All the tour (history) talk was at the end. We lost our group after the 3rd restaurant. After about 10 mins of fumbling/texting, we were able to locate the guide and caught up at the next stop. We were not in the mood to eat and the 4th restaurant (some type of Tavern) served terrible meatballs. (The manager thanked our group for being "so efficient" meaning we were in and out within 10 mins). The most disappointing was the 5th course (dessert) was a ticket to the Christmas market - a tiny sip of mulled wine and a slice of bread was our "dessert".
What they should do is to pick restaurants that are close to each other, or to serve multiple courses at the same restaurant.

Bonjour CaliforniaChopsticks, We are sorry to hear that you did not fully appreciate the Christmas version of our 5 course Gourmet Food Tour. I am sorry that you did not appreciate the fairy atmosphere while visiting the magical Christmas market to have dessert there. This is actually one of the favorite parts for most of the visitors when attending our tour in the winter. Our standard is to spend 20-35 mins if not more at each food stops. It surprises me to hear that you were in and out of a restaurant within 10 mins of time. It surprises me even more that you "lost" the tour guide during the experience. Our groups are small so that people can talk and walk in between restaurants in an intimate setting. Please contact me directly at Hongying.tang@hqst.ca to provide details about the date of your tour so that I can have a thorough "investigation" on what happened during your tour. And please come back hungry again so that we can make it up to you! Hongying Tang, owner of HQ Services Touristiques Inc.

This food tour was excellent. We’ve done many foodie tours before and this one is worth the cost. Danielle was our tour guide. She made Quebec old town come alive for us. She gave us just enough history, stories and architectural tidbits to help us grasp the story of this fine city. And the food- phenomenal. Five stops- five wonderful and different dishes and experiences. From casual to a white-tablecloth old school establishment (shrimp flambé table side) to a local Italian eatery and delicious veal piccata. Highly recommend

Our tour guide, Marie, was just perfect. She was able to give just the right amount of history while engaging the group in conversation whilst walking about a very damp and rainy evening. She made the excursion light and carefree. The food was fantastic! Not to give too much away, you will be quite satisfied with the entire night. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes for you will be putting in the steps from restaurant to restaurant.
It was a lovely evening with a very happy group and excellent victuals!

Evelyn was a wonderful guide and the restaurants we visited served delicious food with wine and beer tastings. We started with an appetizer, on to soup, 2 totally different entrees in 2 different restaurants, then dessert. We had a group of 8 and we all got along great. Evelyn shared history and recommendations of places to see and restaurants to try. So glad we did this tour!
