- HeddyG7730 contributionsMust SeeWent on Christmas eve day so the visitors center was closed but we were still able to walk to the falls. There were a lot of others doing the same. Its really cool to get so up close to this water fall.Written January 1, 2025
- Climber1887920 contributionsAn early winter visitAs we went on a Friday in December, the gondola was not open. We spent a little time walking around the base, and then we drove up and viewed the falls from above. I think it would be more interesting in later winter when it freezes completely- per my understanding. There was plenty of parking and we were lucky to have a nice sunny day to enjoy the park.Written December 28, 2024
- Donna K0 contributionsGet outside and do stuff in the winterWe had a lovely day walking the grounds. We were a little sad that some of the trails were closed for the season. But I guess understandable since there was snow on the ground and safety is a priority. The fall were beautiful. The view from the suspension bridge Was spectacular.Written December 7, 2024
- Sean W0 contributionsGreat views of the fallsWell worth a visit for a couple of hours, you can get great views from all angles top and bottom of the falls and there are plenty look outs from the sidesWritten November 15, 2024
- infast0 contributionsA little disappointing. To be honest the falls are quite underwhelming. We got a taxi there and had pre booked our tickets for the falls and cable car which is advisable due to the queues. The bridge and falls are not that spectacular to be honest. When we got in line for the cable car the attendant was quite abrupt to us speaking in his native language of French and we didn't understand what he wanted us to do. We explained that we were English and he said that he would speak in his native language first as it is his country! That's fine but we were only asking what he wanted us to do. Its normal for the French to be rude to the English, history I guess.Written October 26, 2024
- EileenMtShasta0 contributionsVery Nice, But Other Unique Experiences are BetterWe went here as part of a cruise ship excursion. It was an amazing waterfall and the entry, gift store, bathrooms were all kept clean and convenient. To be honest, I have seen more impressive waterfalls. I feel visiting a sugar shack in our limited time might have been a more unique experience.Written October 12, 2024

The whole experience took about an hour or two but could be longer in the summer when some other stuff is open. - sanju_2223230 contributionsMontmorency Falls is one-and-a-half times taller than Niagara Falls.just 10 miles outside the city, along the St. Lawrence River, Montmorency Falls Park attracts nature lovers and sightseers alike with its 272-foot waterfall. At 83m high, a full 30m taller than Niagara Falls, the Montmorency Falls are as spectacular a sight in the summer as in the winter. This is one destination you will not want to miss, as it is where the St. Lawrence River stretches out not far from the base of the cliffs. It is a splendid introduction to the scenery of Quebec.” Though the falls were well-known to the indigenous people who lived there, Samuel de Champlain, a French colonist and the founder of Quebec City, formally named them after the Duke of Montmorency, his patron. Montmorency Falls has a little something for everyone—walking tours, thrill-seeking activities, cable cars, and a healthy dose of local history Fact: Montmorency Falls is one-and-a-half times taller than Niagara Falls. At the top is the Manoir Montmorency which was originally the country house of Prince Edward, Duke of Kent, also Queen Victoria’s father. The old house built in 1780 was destroyed by a tragic fire accident in 1993. The one you see today is a reconstruction that maintains the architecture of the original building and has a few features of its own. There are multiple ways to explore Montmorency Falls, Quebec City: take the cable car to the top and walk back down, take the cable car up and down, walk the 480+ stairs up to the cliffside to the top of the waterfalls, or park at the top and walk around a little before returning to your car. 1- Cable car 2- stairs - (app 500 steps) But they warn that the stairs can be tough to navigate during the winter and that sometimes the stairs are closed due to ice. There are a variety of activities at the park, including hiking trails, playgrounds, bike paths, and a double zip line (well I don't have the courage to cross on fall through zipline- it's 1000 feet) Parking: Ample parking sports which can be filled quickly on a summer day, especially on weekends Restrooms, gift shops, cafes facing falls- it's all there. What I did not like - I was fine with an entry fee, but the cable car cost an extra $16/PP [unlimited ride though], so the whole experience cost me CAD 65 for 2 people. it's not that worth I suppose.Written September 28, 2024
- U1816OFsteveb0 contributionsTake a big breath!Got public transport- a bendy bus - Quebec City to the falls - 40mins. Bus dropped us off at the top entrance to the falls and a cliff side, three metres wide. wooden walkway led us to the suspension bridge over the falls. After a big breath in over we went - Paula looking relaxed and me hurrying over! Heights aren’t my thing but it felt safe and as I sight want wooden steps down to sea level I walked back too! Then down in the cable car to a very welcome beer in the cafe and a nice ride back up. Views were stunning though the falls aren’t in flood. Altogether a great day out!Written September 26, 2024

Viewing powerful waterfalls and beautiful rainbows in the water mist.In a beautiful September Wednesday afternoon, we drove two rental cars to the Waterfalls park. We 10 seniors paid $12.12 CAD/person for parking charges. It is totally fine for the park staircases construction and annually maintenance expenses. Half of us walked down 487 steps of wooden staircases. Viewing the powerful waterfalls and beautiful rainbows in the water mist. It is a challenging task to walk up. Red Canna Indica welcomes us back.Written September 18, 2024
- 19Katie610 contributionsCheap, pleasurable day outCable car was nice ride. We had a lovely lunch at the top despite the fact that they were clearly understaffed followed by nice walk along the boardwalk and then over the bridge, which was okay for someone who hates heights and round trip back to cable car. Lovely walk in late sunshine.Written September 18, 2024

The scenic views of this park is extremely beautiful.I recently paid a visit to this iconic park . As I come from Uganda as I am used to taking tourists to see the Murchison falls on river Nile so while planning on bucket list on things to see in Quebec City. A visit to this falls was among the things that was to do while in Quebec I feed I was not disappointment.
As it was my first visit to Canada 🍁🍁🇨🇦 . After paying a visit to Parc omega in M ontebello. I would recommend any one visiting the Quebec City to pay a visit to this majestic falls If possible try both the day and night times. As in he night you can take better photos with the reflection from the changing colours.
There's an option to take a cable car (Gondlola) it cost few dollars as entry fees to this park.
Entry fee is $7for an adult and $4 in case you have a private car.

We visited the Parc de la Chute Montmorency in Aug 24. We parked near the top in a spacious car park. We had just planned on walking around the falls and taking in the views from the bridge but after seeing others go on the zipwire we thought we would add some spice for our teenage daughter’s benefit and make it more memorable. We hadn’t booked but the queue to pay was quick and they provided a free locker for our valuables. After completing a waver questionnaire, then being suited and booted (helmet and harness) we queued for the ride. The staff were all great and we felt safe and looked after throughout. The zipwire was great fun and the icing on the cake was the free multi angle video of the experience, (yes free - other activities should learn and do that rather than try to milk every drop of money). We waited until we were home to download the video and it was great! Fantastic fun!

A friend and I completed a rock climbing course (via feretta) at Montmorency and it was SO invigorating! We completed the course this past weekend and it was a highlight of our trip (to QC)! I highly recommend it. Finding the parking lot to start the course was not easy, yet the excitement and thrill of the activity made it all worth it!
The folks at the desk (to help us get registered and got with eq) were super patient, friendly, and helpful and our guide (Thomas) was excellent! I am already looking to do a similar activity in Ontario.
The course we did was the one closest to the water falls. It was the longest in duration (just a little over 2hrs in duration).
Whoever decided to create the course and to those who built it (and those who help maintain it), I send a huge thank you! I love these types of fun yet challenging (in a good way) activities.
We got a great physical workout and we also got to push ourselves mentally. The views from the course, especially from the top near the waterfall!

Nice Views from Top of the falls. We went mid December and the facilities centre & the cable cars were closed. We walked through the trails near the bottom of the falls with our furry pets. The view from the the top of the falls was even better. Definitely worth visiting. a person of any age can walk through the trails. We spend approx 1-2 hrs at the spot.

Very exciting zipline! We booked a month in advance, which I believe was the soonest you are allowed to book online - reservations open as the calendar progresses. Good idea to book in advance, as at least on the day went, the “no reservations” line was very long, but the line for those with reservations, moved along fairly well. We did go on the Labor Day holiday however, so there may have been more people there than usual. There are lots of videos posted online, be sure to check them out. The parc has several cameras posted at different angles and does a great job of videoing your ride, and the video is included, no extra cost. You are given instructions as to how to download it onto your phone - just be sure to remember what you are wearing and the approximate time your ride begins, as you have to look through all of the videos from your time span window to find yourself, so you have to recognize yourself and it’s harder than that sounds, as you are pretty small on the video! Haha! And wow, you definitely want that video, as in some ways, it is more dramatic than the ride itself. The ride is sadly very short. But when you watch the video, you get a real sense of just how far up you really are, pretty incredible.
Be careful of the weight limit - it is REAL. Online, it states 220 lbs max - but on the day we arrived, there was a breeze, so the parc had lowered the max weight to 200 lbs. There were several men there, who had planned to ride with their families, who were not allowed to ride - and you have to weigh in right there on their scale if you are asked, so there is no way you can fudge the weight results. Two men were over weight by only 2 lbs! ONLY 2 lbs, and they were not allowed to ride. So the restriction is serious. I felt so bad for them and their families.
Getting to the zipline is not easy, frankly. Easiest is if you are driving or take the city bus, as you are automatically at the top of the falls. If you are coming from below, getting to the zipline is trickier as signage is scant and you have to take the sky lift up or walk the hundred zillion million steps. Once you finish the zipline, you have to walk back to where it begins, over the sky bridge - you have to return the equipment and pick up your belongings which you would have stored in a locker before the safety and instructions talk. So this zipline is a lot about the process - finding it, then getting back to it after the ride. But it's very cool and the video is a forever memory.

Beautiful waterfalls, and we enjoyed the place, but the zipline took us much longer time to prepare than the experience itself. The cable car was not as good as expected.

Montmorency Falls is a half hour or so out of Quebec City. We took bus no. 804, no problems. The Falls are beautiful and the zipline across the Falls was amazing. There are stairs down to the bottom of the Falls. At the bottom there is also a cable car up to the top. There is a restaraunt and a few kiosks. All around a lovely day out.

I love zip lining and couldn't wait to try this one out. A spectacular view of the falls and also take in a view of the river and neighboring towns, so make sure to look left too! I highly recommend reserving your spot in advance as this is a very popular attraction.
The only reason I gave this 4 stars is because when you are done zipping you have to bring the gear back to the hut at the starting point, which is a long trek back and forth. Suggest putting a process in place to return the gear for you, as other places do. Perhaps use one of the large golf carts the Rangers drive around in...
Regardless, a must do for the adventuresome!

Hi, I want to do the zipline during an upcoming visit to Quebec. I'm thinking logistics. Is there parking at the top of the falls? Last time we parked below and took the tram. The zipline website says no jewelry... check. It says no personal items. If I don't bring my wallet and ID, how do they identify that I paid? I guess the question is what can I bring? Day pack? Hip pack. Wallet in a pocket? I want to avoid having to return to the car.

Love to try the zip lining, but may never do again..wondering if there is an option to buy a picture while up there
Written August 31, 2019
They give you a little card with a code where you can check the video online once you’re home, but I haven’t gotten around to doing that yet.
Written August 31, 2019
What is the best way to experience both the zip line and the cable car. Should we do one before the other? Which one first? We want to get the whole experience of the falls.
Written August 28, 2019
I wouldn’t bother with the cable car to be honest. Crowded with little view and nothing more than transport. We took a cab to the top and walked down (after the zip wire and lots of fun). It was only then that we remembered we’d bought cable car tickets and we used them to go up and came straight back down.

There are two in my party but only one will zipline. How and where will the two people meet up again?
Written June 30, 2019
Great question! There is a Gaxebo at the end of the zipline where your partner can snap some pics and witness your awkward dismount up close and personal. Lol. The only down side is that you then have to trek back to the starting point to return your gear, which is a pretty long hike. Hope this helps!
Written July 6, 2019
What are your dates and times of operation?
Written May 4, 2019
I am interested in doing the zipline, but not everyone in my party wants to. Do you have transportation back to start?
Written April 29, 2019
Unfortunately, there is no transportation back to the start, though your friends can wait at the end of the zipline in the gazebo. The zippers then need to make the trek back to the start to return their gear, which is very lengthy. It was very hot when we were there and my husband was exhausted after walking to the end of the zip to snap some pics, so I ended up meeting him back at the entrance of the park as the long walk back and forth to the start was too much given the heat and little shade.
Still worth it, but logistically challenging.
Hope this helps!
