    Amazing experience
Amazing experience. Very friendly people. The cabins in the wilderness were so cozy and well maintained. Bonfire in the middle of wilderness was a cherry on top.

They left me in the lobby
Around mid-day on February 20th 2023 I went in to the Arctic Range business office in downtown Whitehorse and asked about an Aurora trip for that night (The forecast for Aurora was good--a KP5). I told the young lady my interest in the tour was photography. It turned out there was space available so I signed up. She explained that the tour was 4 hours long; approximately a half hour ride out of town, 3 hours on the site and a half ride back to town. I asked if the Aurora was especially active did they stay longer. A firm no. I asked if I could take my own vehicle and if the Aurora was active stay longer. Again a firm no. She asked me where I was staying and I told her--Skky Hotel near the airport. She told me twice that they would be there to pick me up at 10 minutes after 11. And she also told me to be in the lobby ready to go so there would be no delay in picking me up. I said I would be there and be ready and also repeated back to her the scheduled time; 10 after 11. Thinking they might be a little early I positioned myself in the hotel lobby at 10 minutes before 11. So 20 minutes ahead of the pickup time I was there with camera pack, tripod, dressed in cold weather clothing and ready to go. At 10 minutes after 11 no one had showed. At 1130 I called the Arctic Range phone number and got a recording. I left a message stating who I was, where I was and wondered where was my pickup. At 10 minutes until 12 I gave up waiting and went back to my room extremely irritated. Next day I went back down to the office. The same person from the day before told me that the driver went to the hotel but no one was waiting. That statement is absolutely untrue. The whole episode left a very bad feeling with me and also left me with the impression that Arctic Range does not have much of a commitment to their photographer clients. To make matters worse on Tuesday afternoon I was told the the Aurora was quite active the night before with colors and curtains in the early hours of Tuesday morning--the time when I would have been out with them had they done their job. The only thing good about this incident is that there was no issue on getting my money refunded.

    Amazing!!!
Extremely well organized touring group with guides who have a passion for what they do. Had an amazing time in the Yukon doing a plane tour, dog sledding, snowmobiling and even got to see the Northern lights.

Why did we wait so long to discover the Yukon?
My husband and I just returned from our Yukon adventure and we loved it! The daytime excursions were fun, informative and, in some cases, quite physically exhilarating. The staff/guides were so good teaching us and really caring for our well-being. Case in point, my husband was very much in pain through his back and the guides determined that when it came to the dog-sledding, he, and therefore we, would be better off going for the ride rather than driving the sleds ourselves. Sincerest thanks to all of our guides, including the gentleman who made several trips to make sure all of our rented gear fit properly. And then there was the Aurora Borealis! We know that no one controls them, but how very lucky we were to see the spectacular display. Thank you, thank you, thank you, for everything!

friendly staff but didnt get to see the lights
sadly we did not see the lights as when we went it was cloudy the whole time. The staff was very friendly and they put on a presentation about aurora lights as well as a campfire to roast marshmallows. I was disappointed that we couldn't see it and we paid $130 each. I think it would have been nice if we could reschedule it but this company does not offer that.

    A+
A+ for Arctic Range Adventures! From punctual pick up to knowledgeable tour guides - Barbara, Shungo and Naomi, the experience over two-night tours was magical. The first night the aurora was faint, but the warm treats were appreciated as was roasting marshmallows in awesome tipis. The second night the Northern Lights did not disappoint and exceeded my expectations. Highly recommend this professional group of individuals for an unforgettable experience.

Terrible company, terrible service and tours.
They are extremely unprofessional, and dropped us off at a hotel with no food when most other facilities were already closed. Guide did not care, and just drove off. Did not offer to take us to any restaurant. We had to fetch McDonalds in a taxi. Tours the next day were acceptable, but after the hot springs tour, an Asian guide told us in broken English that we could not go on the Aurora tour because some guests in my group were coughing. They do not have a policy on this. We had doctors and nurses in the group, and Covid tests if they wanted. (Was negative) There are no restrictions in Canada now, and they simply threw us off the tour we paid for, without refund or alternate arrangements. Doing it yourself with taxis is actually better. That is what we did for the remainder of our tour. Use any other provider. Hard to imagine it could be worse...

    Great customer service
We didn't get to do the tour with Arctic Range and had to cancel due to flight cancellations/rebooking but the staff was able to cancel and refund our reservation. I appreciated that as it was one less thing to stress about!

Excellent team of people. Although we just saw a faint aurora that night, the facilities, the fun activities and the enthusiasm of the team were great.

    Arctic Range Adventure guides rock!
We did the Active Winter Heartbeat adventure for 7 days. It was absolutely fantastic. The adventure included a little flight over Whitehorse, a welcome tour, a visit to the wildlife preserve, dog sledding, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, and ice fishing. We added in a trip to Kluane National Park. Also we had three aurora viewing nights. All of the activities were extremely well organized and pickups on schedule. Accommodation in the Raven Inn was good. The adventures were incredible and completely unforgettable. What made everything particularly special was the high quality of the guides. They were amazing and enthusiastic! Friendly and fun and experienced outdoorspeople. Wait till you hear stories from their personal adventures and see their pictures! My daughter and I consider our time in the Yukon a life experience and hope to return another season.

    Perfect Northern Lights viewing!
Loved everything about this tour!! Comfortable ride to viewing area and two warm dwelling areas to get out of elements and have a warm drink and cookies as desired. Provided benches and bag chairs to sit on outside, marshmallows for roasting on tbe fire. We had a wonderful Northern Lights viewing, ended up staying out over an hour extra. Definitely recommend!

    Outstanding service and tours
Thank you Felix and your team especially to Shungo who was with us during our 3 tours and 2 nights of Aurora viewing this September, 2022. This trip was quite memorable for everyone and we are so grateful to Arctic Range Adventure for arranging our itineraries and booking the hotel accommodations. Everything went so smoothly. Shungo did a fantastic job in providing us with narrative of all the places and sites we visited. He is quite knowledgeable, one important qualities of a good tour guide. We were quite a rowdy crowd but he was so patient and accommodating. He made us comfortable and always thinking of our needs. THANK YOU @ArcticRangeAdventure for your exceptional service. Rest assured that you will be highly recommended.

    Our guide wasn’t great
Once he had picked up all people from various hotels, he started off telling us that “he makes his money from tips, so lets have a great time and get started!” When we stopped by the lake, he gave each of us a pair of snow shoes. We, like others had never used them before, and I was struggling to get the straps tightened. He didn’t come over to check how I was doing, so I finally asked him for help. If this guy wants a tip, he better give better service than this! Once we all had snow shoes on, he had a couple of the Asian men in the group, pull gear in a plastic boggan, onto the lake. He was chatting with and taking photos of the Asian couples, and we were wondering when we were going to start snow shoeing. We stood around for some time and finally we asked what direction we were going. He pointed over there, not far, so we finally started walked over to a second lake across the road by ourselves. Eventually he came over and asked how far we wanted to walk. We didn’t know, we just wanted to get going on the tour we had paid for. When we asked what the others were doing, and why they weren’t comeing, he said the others were making snow angels and he was taking pictures of them. REALLY? This is a snowshoeing and ice fishing tour. That’s what we paid to do. Not stand around waiting for him to get us going with our activity. He said we could walk further, or go back, so we turned around and went back to the first lake, to drill holes in the ice for ice fishing. He drilled three holes in close proximity, with the help of other tourists in our group. We sat on small stools, and used very cheap looking, short plastic rods, about 16 inches long, with a simple plastic spool of fishing line on them. For bait there was a plastic wiggly lure on the hook, or we could change to shrimp. We tried both, and none of the 6 of us fishing even got a nibble. Our guide made a fire on the ice and cooked some sausages on a skewer for each of us if we wanted one. When we left he said he was going to leave the fire burning and it would burn itself out. We questioned that, asking why he would leave the wood that was only half burned? Why not spread it out so the fire would stop, and use the wood another day? He said he always brings more wood. So, why pollute the air with smoke from a fire that no one is using? He said he would the put it out then, and proceeded to throw some snow on the fire. We wouldn’t do this activity again.

    Best aurora experience !!
Booked with Arctic range Feb 18th and unfortunately didn’t see aurora due to a storm but had a blast anyhow. From tipis to hot chocolate, they had everything ready. I booked again with them February 20th and was blessed and lucky to see the lights. Brian, our guide and driver was super nice and informative. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Just be ready, it gets COLD at night. The only thing I wish is that I rented clothes

We were lucky enough to see the northern light for all 3 nights. Though it was quite cloudy, we managed to see the Milky Way as well. The guides were very nice, helpful and knowledgeable. Had a very detailed presentation about the aurora. I was told the best season to see the aurora is Sep/Feb.

It was a wonderful experience - tours are run very well, staff are all friendly, and communication beforehand was always quick. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to see the Northern Lights.

My only criticism is the hotel they book you into. The Westmark Hotel was the worst hotel I stayed in in Canada and would not recommend ANYONE stay there - I understand that Arctic Range must have a deal with the hotel, but honestly, it's not worth it. We had no hot water on 3 occasions (we complained but were dismissed by front desk), housekeeping rarely came, and bathroom was hardly clean.

Thank you very much for your kind review about our tours and our team. We are happy to hear you are recommending our Northern Lights viewing tour. We do apologize for any inconvenience you experienced during your hotel stay. It appears the hotel had a temporary issue with one of their boiler during your stay and that caused the shortage of hot water. Of course we will address your concerns with the hotel management and hope to resolve the mentioned issues for the future.

My wife and I went on this tour with my sister and grand daughter. This company provides transportation to/from airport at arrivals and departures. This tour provides 3 opportunities to see the Northern lights and we seen the northern lights on our first outing to the Aurora center. The tour package kept us busy our entire time with spare time to rest prior to going out to the Aurora center. All 3 tour guides we had were very friendly, informative and helpful (Kei, Chica & Moto), We went on the City tour, Yukon Brewery, Whitehorse Wildlife Preserve & Hot Springs, Each tour provides plenty of photo opportunities. Arctic Range Adventure also have winter gear you can rent which was perfect for this type of weather. The Aurora center has several buildings called Yurt's and 2 Tipi's to keep warm when needed. The yurt's have hot water for tea and coffee and also contain clean rest rooms. I highly recommend this Tour company to others wishing to visit Whitehorse Yukon to see the Northern Lights.

Arctic Range Adventure is the way to go if considering a trip to see the northern lights. They are so well organized, tour package includes hotel and various tours during the day. Their tour guides are so knowledgeable and friendly and overall helpful. Also Arctic Range rents outer wear so that big purchases aren’t necessary for boots, parka, and pants. We also went during the Sourdough Rendezvous festival which added extra fun for us. Oh and we did see the northern lights, I am beyond happy, would do it again. There is so much more I could say but out of room.

This was a great experience getting to see the auroras! While the first night was too cloudy and the other nights weren't too strong, we were still able to get some decent pictures of the lights on the nights they were active! Definitely going to try to come back up there to try my luck again!
