Yukon Gold Experience feat. Emerald Lake & Carcross
By EPIC NORTH Tour Experiences
About
Gold! This one word roared across North America in 1896 as hundreds of thousands rushed to the Klondike, dreaming of striking it rich. Now over a century later, that passion lives on as visitors from across the globe continue to trace the footsteps of the world’s greatest Gold Rush. Pan for gold, and learn the true history of the Klondike Gold Rush. With lakes, beaches, the World’s Smallest Desert and the small First Nations community of Carcross along the way, the Yukon Gold Experience shows the true scope the North has to offer.

- alexlee8900Winter Day trip to Kluane National ParkFirst off, Epic North Adventures is a tour group that cares about the safety of its clients. The first example is by delaying the tour to start slightly later due to the longer winter night and shorter daylight. It sounds simple but it is actually worth noting the experience of the tour company. Our guide Yu, is from Japan and has stayed in Yukon for almost a decade and has a vast amount of knowledge and history about the culture and wildlife of Yukon. Hence, my family and I had an incredible tour. I highly recommend those visiting Yukon to check them out!
- moonyeelam004 Days private tour at Whitehorse with CedricWe thoroughly enjoyed visiting Whitehorse. All of the arrangements made by Tobi and Cedric worked out perfectly. Travelling across in the luxury van throughout day and night, for which you deserve special thanks.  Overall, we were pleased with our itinerary: 4 days in Whitehorse, including our 3 nights tour to view Northern night at Aurora Basecamp. We felt we were able to see most of the major sights, but not exhaustingly so. Thank you again.
- S4005TZdavidd00Fantastic guide, knowledgeable and experiencedWe experienced a Northern Lights tour with another larger company the previous night, but this was a level above. Yuyu picked us up and 20 minutes later we were in a secluded area, freshly built and perfect for seeing the lights. Yuyu explained about the Light, took photos of us with the Lights (free) and then assisted us in taking our own photos. We captured many pictures with both a DLSR and mobile phone thanks to his assistance. Yu is a really nice guy and would highly recommend him for your Northern Lights experience.
- 474barbarar00Beauties and the Beasts: Super Grizzly and Glacier Tour8-day Grizzlies and Glaciers Tour (the Yukon and Alaska) for small groups. Epic North Tours delivered what they promised. We had splendid photographic encounters with grizzlies and stunning views of glacier-topped mountains. Also enjoyed short hikes, visits to First Nations cultural centres, Whitehorse and environs, views of beautiful lakes and salmon spawning streams, plus a little kayaking on the side – all thanks to Rick, our knowledgeable guide. Strongly recommended.
- Tallteacher_8000Don't Trust Epic North!!!I booked multiple tours with Epic North in early June for a late August trip to the Yukon. They cancelled all three trips shortly before my trip due to low numbers. I had to scramble to find another company to save my trip. Truly a disgraceful way to run a business. Huge thumbs 👎👎👎
- markmd121200A taste of KLUANEKLUANE is spectacular. This excursion gives you a taste of the park. Guide was knowledgeable and entertaining. The short hikes was beautiful. Worth the time and money.
- gillianda00Whitehorse Area Experience with Epic NorthWe spent 3 days with Yu exploring Whitehorse and area. Did 3 tours. The above, Skagway and Yukon Gold. The scenery was spectacular! Yu stopped at all the best spots as well as whenever something caught our eye. He was very well informed and provided us with both history and stories of the area. Had an amazing trip!! Hundreds of amazing pictures. Our first trip to the Yukon…Thank you Yu, we will be back!!
- G7680AEmikeb00Great Whitehorse to Skagway Travel OptionWhen the White Pass Yukon Route Railway train from Whitehorse to Skagway was cancelled for 2022, I needed alternative transportation options for my trip. I fortunately found the Skagway Explorer tour through Epic North. This trip takes you from Whitehorse to Skagway, making a number of interesting stops along the way (e.g. Emerald Lake, Forty Mile Rapids, Carcross, Carcross Desert and many more). The owner of Epic was always responsive to my emails. He agreed to pick me up from Skagway midway through the tour and bring me back to Whitehorse. If it wasn't for them, I may still be stranded in Alaska! Huge thanks to Yuya for being a great driver/tour guide. He is quite knowledgeable, personable and accommodating. Thanks again for bringing me back to Canada!
- Canada198800Very goodWe really enjoyed our trip today. The scenery was fantastic and Yu was very informative and personable.
- Leora J00Long day mostly drivingWe had great weather but trip had no pre planning explained, we didn't know where we were stopping or for how long, guide was patient, knowledgeable but didn't say much about trip ay all. Drive destination was too long for a 10 hour day, only had one short hour in skagway. The trip is overpriced
- lesliesteinberg00Mixed feelings!Yu, from Epic North, picked us up exactly on time at our hotel and was a very personable and knowledgeable tour guide, but everything we did you could do on your own at no cost. The snacks were small chocolate bars, a few granola bars and water, which were fine, but we were expecting more than that. The description of the tour includes pictures of the glaciers but nowhere does it mention that these views can only be seen if you take the flightseeing tour, which is optional. There is no other information about the flight (such as the price) so it’s understandable that we thought ‘optional’ meant that it was optional for you to go on the flight part of the tour. We were surprised to receive a notification the afternoon before the tour saying that we needed to let them know if we were taking the flight and that it was an additional $300 each! We decided to do it anyway and we are very happy we did! It was a beautiful day, and the views of the mountains and glaciers were spectacular! We highly recommend it! You can book this yourself without having to be part of the Viator tour, for the same price. Daniel, from Rocking Star Adventures in Burwash Landing, was our tour guide and he was great! So it was a pleasant day, with some lovely scenery, the hilite being the flightseeing tour. We didn’t see any wildlife all day but that was just unlucky! However, the tour description is misleading/incomplete. If there is an optional excursion, it should be very clear that there is an additional price which should be stated in the description, and that the views of the mountains and glaciers portrayed in the pictures can be seen only if you go on the flight. We have booked quite a few tours with Viator over the years, and they have always been very good and always exactly as described. The flightseeing tour was exceptional but the ‘land’ tour was somewhat disappointing and overpriced for what was delivered.
- Maria_Idrial00Highly recommendable!Great experience with them! We needed to go from Whitehorse to Skagway to take the ferry and our driver Yuya made that possible. He was knowledgeable and friendly and made our trip very enjoyable. We even stopped at "Welcome to Alaska" sign! I'd recommend the shuttle service with Epic North 100%!
- EldotTi00Professional, informative, and very friendlyI had an excellent experience with Epic North. Please see my individual reviews for Epic North's tours of Kluane National Park and the Yukon Gold Experience. Thanks to Yuya for a couple of super tours!
- EldotTi00Enjoy the ride and the conversationBy all means, go to Kluane. You won't be sorry. It's breathtaking, and practically impossible to take a bad picture. For a small additional fee, I was picked up at my Airbnb rather than a downtown hotel. My pickup was prompt. The tour bus is exceptionally comfortable, with excellent viewing through the large windows. Water and snacks were generously provided throughout the trip. My only regret was that we weren't able to spend more time at the cultural interpretation centre. Yuya of Epic North Tours gave me a splendid experience. He is knowledgeable, informative, and very agreeable. Thank you, Yuya and Tobi!
- YisshaMota00A great experience. It was awesome. These guys really do everything to give you an amazing experience. The weather was not ok our side but we really like and appreciate the hunting. THANKS!!!

Yuya was a terrific guide, very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about animals, plants and history. We visited Miles Canyon, Emerald Lake, Carcross desert, Carcross town and Caribou Crossing Trading Post where the highlights were petting Spirit the Black horse and watching the malamute puppies. He gave us suggestions for hiking in the area and was flexible with timing at the different stops if we wanted to stay longer at one and less at another.

Yuya is an excellent tour guide and this is a great tour if you're in Whitehorse without a car (comfortable, informative, hits lots of stops, and Yuya is happy to slightly adjust the tour to pack in as much as possible). We even saw a bear and her cubs by the road (a lucky day!)
