I have been wanting to do a tour of the Rat's Nest Cave since I moved to Alberta over two decades ago. I should not have waited so long! This was a fantastic day of adventure from the hike up and down from the cave entrance to the cave adventure itself. Not a dull moment and our guide Annie was fantastic! We were a small group and got to experience rappelling down into the cave, several squeezes as well as total darkness! I highly recommend this adventure to anyone that it appeals too!

We did the four hours adventure tour with our fabulous tour guide Anne. On the half hour hike she talked knowledgeable about the forest and showed us fossils. In the cave she was super supportive and relaxed, showing us how to best get down or up without making us feel inadequate. The tour itself was amazing, difficult at times but doable. We were tired afterwards but happy. Our 13 year old remarked that this tour was better than video gaming

This was just the right amount of difficult for the parents - our kids of course were up for even more! The views are incredible, even before you get into the cave. The guide was amazing - knowledgeable and friendly and reassuring!

This was an amazing experience, both challenging and rewarding. This was no walk in the park, and required use of arms and legs. Our guide was lovely, informative, and very helpful providing advice on the best way to traverse rocks and climbs. I still can’t believe I was able to squeeze through some openings or climb up slick rocks.

Our guide John was really awesome and patient. He had lots of titbits of information to share with us about the area, the caves history and much more. It was anAmazing authentic experience, we really liked that it was catered to our needs and the needs of our group and what we were most interested in. We would recommend it definitely.

I took my 3 daughters on the explorer cave tour(ages 12,14,16) and we had a great time. Our tour guide Annie, shared all kind of history and information about the cave and surrounding area. We have done cave tours before but this one was so much more fun, we got to crawl around and squeeze in and out of small areas throughout the cave.

My husband and I weren’t too sure we would like it at first, but loved it and would definitely come again to try the adventure tour with some family. It was super excited and nothing like we’ve experience before. All the history in the cave made it even cooler. Definitely recommend shoes and not cowboy boots haha

This was such an incredible experience! We had John as our instructor and he made it such a fun and educational adventure. We ended up being in a group with another family of 3 with a child the same age, after a little bit the boys wanted to lead the way with guide and try every challenge they could. I’m not a fan of elevators, so I had some concerns going into this.. but John assured us that if we couldn’t get through the entrance then it was best for us not continue. It ended up not feeling too tight at all and I even did the challenge shoot! Would 10/10 recommend if your feeling up the physical and mental challenge that splunking brings.

Overall, I would say this was a fantastic tour/experience. I was apprehensive in the beginning about going into a dark cave, but once our tour guide Annie told us about sizes of squeezes and options I felt better . Hike up the mountain I didn’t realize was a bit strenuous, but it was very hot that day, and that added to the Stress. We took many breaks and got to the top in about 40 minutes. The cave is dark and a little damp as you progress downward but very interesting and doable. I’m over 60 and not the best of shape and I managed to do it. I felt so much better for having done it. Going down was much easier because you are able to slide down the rocks. Coming up you have to climb up those same rocks, using hands and knees and anything you can cling to including some provided ropes to get up. Honestly, the only challenging part was the very hump at the end to get out but we did it. Annie was awesone.

We had so much fun! This was my second time in the cave and I will be coming back for the longer tour next time (had to give the “short” tour a go again since I brought my daughter (15) this time- it was a hit!!) Grace was a fantastic guide. Her experience, planning and knowledge sharing is what made our tour above and beyond. Highly recommend her! This tour is NOT for everyone as it is physically challenging and requires comfort in tight, dark, cold and wet spaces. Be prepared for a work out!

We were first time/senior cavers who were a little apprehensive at the beginning. Our guide Tammera was knowledgeable and skilled and made the tour so much fun. We can’t wait to go back for the Adventure Tour!

We took the Rest’s Nest Cave tour today in Canmore, Alberta. It was the most difficult caving we’ve done so far. We spent 4 hours in the cave, used ropes and harnesses. I got the most scare experience by taking the Challenge Squeeze passage. I could not move any parts of my body but abdominal muscles and tips of hands. Even worse – once I passed it I had to go back the same way. My son Michael was brave enough to follow me and we didn’t get stuck there. Of course it's optional challange, but I higly recommend it for the most adrenaline rush :) Overall it was a perfect activity for people who like to get more active exploring natural wonders of Banff.

Today we had an awesome experience going inside a cave for first time. Tamara was our guidance leader. She gave us a lot of information and curisities about caving and we had a really pleasant and exciting experience there!

This was an amazing adventure! Our guide Emily was kind, compassionate, energetic, intelligent and had contagious energy!!! The cave was beautiful, and I felt safe at all times. If you’re thinking about giving caving a try, just do it!! Fabulous experience!!!

What a fantastic activity to do with our niece and nephew (11 and 14). The guide (Annie) was very informative and helpful in showing us how to move through the cave. I was a bit hesitant to go as I’m not a fan of small spaces BUT I’m so glad I did it! The spaces weren’t that small, the cave was magically quiet and just a fantastic experience. We would highly recommend this adventure!
