Unacceptable cancellation policy - be aware!!!
Booked and fully prepaid a 1 hour cruise in October 2023 for our group of 18 back in May 2023. On the day of the cruise we had one person really sick and he couldn't participate. I did ask for a refund for the one ticket, but was told that the refund policy is 7 days. This is ridiculous! Prepaid month in advance and they cannot refund 1 ticket out of 18?! I loved working with the local tour operators in the past, but this company seems to get the small ones out of business and rule everything. Be aware! Don't pre-book!!! There was lots of space on the ship, even though it was a beautiful and sunny day.

      Will be back
We came once again here, as we cannot get enough of this great part of the world with it's small islands stretching between USA and Canada and yes, most surely we will come again in the future. Although we set our base in Belleville, we were travelling returning from our 3000 km trip between PEI and Toronto and I called in advance to ensure the cruise will not be busy for their afternoon 1h tour: - the person on the phone confirmed there were only a few people buying tickets due to being late September and asked to pay a fee higher than what we paid later on at the ticket office - we noticed nowadays the ticket office is housed in a different building, where they also have a souvenir shop but no toilets. The original building is now a shop and restaurant with live music - although I took pictures of the City cruises, we actually took the Thousand island boat which is laid on 2 levels: the first level with air conditioned inside and where the bar with drinks/snacks is and also toilets. The second level is not covered and a seagull travelled with us without paying any fee - Mr Bad!!!! - the tour is narrated and you learn lots of things about the life on the islands, how difficult is to get the produce and how most are un-inhabited in the cold season - there are still some people on the island waiving friendly or kayakers - after getting the tickets and parking the car at a discounted cost in their car park, we were fortunate to be the first in line for this boat, some 30min earlier: when we were here in the past, we noticed how people were running to get the best seats which is not nice to see. Even so, near us, there was a group who kept moving in 3 different directions repeatedly to take their 'best pictures' annoying just about everybody. Everything is very idyllic, yet every single time I get a headache, no idea why: could be the engine smell, or the heat etc. Yet we are still going to return here.

      A must do in Gananoque!
The views were amazing and so many picturesque opportunities! The boat also gets close enough to the castle that you can some pretty good pictures! Definitely a trip to remember.

      ill-considered booking
Unfortunately, we were not able to arrive on time to take part in the cruise. We were travelling from another city and there was a problem with our car. As we found out when we contacted the cruise company, we would have had an opportunity to rebook the cruise, if we had booked it through the website of the cruise company, but since we booked it through Tripadvisor, we did not have such an option. So, if you aren't sure, whether you can arrive on time, we would definitely recommed to make a reservation through the cruise company directly.

      Amazing trip!!
My husband and I thoroughly our 5 hour boat cruise. It happened to be a beautiful, warm and sunny day. The recorded commentary on the boat was so beneficial as we toured past homes and islands. Boldt Castle is amazing, so much history. We definitely recommend this tour.

Beautiful Fall Day Touring the Thousand Islands
We had a beautiful fall day to enjoy the cruise. I have not been to the castle since the late 70s so it was nice to see all of the restorations. It is beautiful. Thoroughly enjoyed our day

1000 Island Cruise and Boldt Castle Tour
For the cost this is a great trip. The boat ride through the 1000 islands was very nice with a preprogrammed narration of stories and some facts. Arriving at the castle, we were in a location that enabled us to exit the boat sooner than later, which was good as my only complaint is there needs to be a more efficient way of checking people through border security or maybe not fill the boat to its maximum capacity. This did not affect us at all, but we did witness some people just clearing security and we had already been on the grounds for almost an hour. I felt bad for them, they would have only had an hour to tour the castle and grounds and that’s not enough time to fully enjoy the experience. Now, as for the castle and grounds, it is stunning. We had a beautiful warm sunny day, we really enjoyed wandering and reading the information plaques. They also have a self guided tour option that you can listen to on your phone. If you’re Canadian this might be a challenge if you have your phone in airplane mode to not get charged for roaming in the US. The boat departed on time at 10am. Approximately 11:15am we were at the island. Return to the boat was 1:20pm Depart the island at 1:40pm Arrived at the dock in Gananoque approximately 2:45. There is beverages snacks, popcorn and hotdogs on the boat for purchase. There is washrooms located on the boat, at the docks and in the castle. And at the dock of the castle there is a little cafe to grab a bite to eat (just give yourself time for that). If you have mobility issues there is an elevator at the castle. But the hill to get into the castle is a little steep. Dress appropriately, good walking shoes and a sweater or jacket as the chill off the water and when the boat was in motion was chilly if you were outside. Our group all agreed we would recommend and even do this tour again sometime.

      The Worse Boat Tour
First of all, the price was ridiculous much more than the one we took with Clayton Tours in Kingston and it was approximately 3 hrs. I am still fighting with this company for my refund. It also cost $9 to park they kept stressing it was all day parking. The tour NEVER TOOK PLACE! They had us all board the boat and for the first 30 mins it was TOTAL SILENCE - no one spoke to any of us. Finally, I asked 2 very nice girls at snack bar what was up. They told us that the sound and video system was down and we would only be riding on the river for an hr clueless to our surroundings. They knew of a couple things and were kind enough to point them out. BOGUS!!!!

      Breathtaking
The castle is something you won't forget! The grounds are beautiful and so is the castle. Took tons of pictures. The only negative thing about the 5 hour cruise is the time is takes to disembark and clear customs! Cuts into the time allowed to visit castle, we felt rushed to be able to see everything (which we didn't). Also I feel that there should be more information shared during the trip over about George Boldt. Video about George in the castle, but not enough time to see it.

      Great cruise, great weather
Two couples made a last minute reservation for the one hour cruise. It was on time and very entertaining. We would all recommend this cruise.

      Your was very nice.
The cruise was very nice, thanks to beautiful day! The washroom, at rear, on second deck, was filthy and smelled horrible! It was impossible to hear the explanation of the tour, sitting on the back, outside, on the second deck.

      Unique and beautiful
Restroom available, plenty of parking, easy to find, beautiful view! Staff was very polite and available to help. Also hot dogs, snack, coffee and alcohol for sale on the cruise. 1 hour was a compact tour. Weather was over cast today ( Sept 2023). Somewhat slippery.

Beautiful views but boat needs work
The views were beautiful with an good overview of the 1000 landmarks. The boat itself is definitely old and not luxury. Couldn't hear the tour guide unless you were on the top deck as the speakers weren't working elsewhere.

A Must See and Do Experience
The best aspect of the Cruise Experience was the greeting and welcome I received from Janet and Christina. They are incredible people - kind - helpful - very pleasant - and compassionate (I have mobility challenges). They define what true caring is all about and how real customer satisfaction should be done. Bless their hearts for taking care of me. George Kouri

The staff were lovely and facilities were good; however, I have major issues with the tour audio package: 1. there was no quiet time. We got talked at nonstop and it distracted from the experience (and my baby couldn't nap, it was too loud everywhere on the boat) 2. the content NEEDS to be revised for sexist and racist content. It is 2023, in the era of reconciliation. Johnstone did not dress as an "Indian", he dressed as an Indigenous person. The two islands connected by a mini bridge where "the husband could leave his wife when he needed" is ridiculous 1950s sexist sentiment. Those are just two examples 3. please hire an Indigenous consultant and EDI consultant to review your content and update it to include first nations history of these specific lands and waters.

For me, three hours is a bit long. Beautiful day, beautiful scenery, but I was disappointed with the snack bar. No hotdogs…basically just candy bars and warm local beer. For a three hour Gilligan cruise, stock the cooler… for crissakes!!!

We very much enjoyed the show and commentary. The sights were lovely. It was a bit uncomfortable for someone like myself who is fond of taking a lot of pics as the seating caused me to do a lot of twisting in my seat to get the shot, but I did very much enjoy the cruise and would come back again and recommend it.

The views are exceptional and we took many photos. Learned a lot about the 1000 islands, boat wrecks, etc. Found problems in the area of snack bar. If you wanted a table, people did not release table after eating, left bags, strollers in order to reserve. I believe the staff should have signs posted indicating , when finished eating, should leave.

We had a very disappointing experience today on 3 hour 1000 Islands Cruise from Gananoque.
It was extremely overcrowded and was very hard to find anywhere to sit
Audio commentary was very hard to hear as well.
I recommend to save your money and take a different cruise.

My wife and I got to the boat early and snagged a window seat on the upper covered deck, which is much quieter than the lower deck, and allows you to listen to the recorded guide and videos. The windows were clean and large and the explanations were just what we needed in terms of detail. They don’t allow food and water on board which means you have to buy their own offerings, which looked a bit basic.

The cruise itself was enjoyable but we were disappointed with the food offered. We knew we weren't allowed to take our own food onboard and actually had our bags searched but for a lunchtime cruise there were no wraps or hotdogs loaded. We were left with potato chips and a kitkat.

An excellent tour -- extremely easy to get tickets/board, ship not overcrowded, very clean & organized, friendly staff. Tour itself was fantastic, especially going around Boldt Castle. The commentary over the loudspeaker was easy to hear and entertaining, we learned a lot. Only thing I wish was better communicated was how windy it could get, it was very uncomfortable at times and 1/2 the guests on the upper deck moved downstairs 1/2 way thru the tour. We toughed it out, but if we had been forewarned we would have dressed differently and been a lot more comfortable.

Enjoyed the cruise. Educative, interesting and well timed (3 hour cruise).
The only thing I would mention as constructive criticism is that outside you could not hear the commentary.
We enjoyed going outside for better views and to enjoy the weather and take pictures, but when outside, couldn't hear the very interesting commentary.
A simple fix, by adding a couple more speakers outside.
