Your accredited guide and naturalist will meet you at the departure location. We will then travel throughout the Discovery Islands, Tidal Rapids and Coast Mountain fjords looking for any number of Humpback Whales, Orca Whales, Black Bears, Pacific white-sided dolphins, Dall’s Porpoise, Stellar Sea Lions, Harbour Seals, Marine Birds, and Bald Eagles. Every tour is different and what wildlife we see on tours varies depending on the seasonal migrations of marine and terrestrial mammals.

Fantastic company, bear tour and all round amazing experience
This was a fantastic experience that will stay with me forever. We went on the Spring Great Bear Adventure last minute (5th June) as our original operator cancelled at late notice. Our guide Reuben was amazing, he guided our boat into really shallow inlets with expert precision many aren’t accessed by the other tours. His passion for the area, wildlife and scenery were clear from the outset and we felt safe throughout due to a really smooth ride. We were rewarded with sightings of a little shy Cinnamon Bear, a few less shy black bears and a Grizzly that came really close to the shore line unexpectedly which resulted in amazing photos. A humpbacked whale on our journey home rounded this tour off perfectly. I would highly recommend the tour and am so grateful to Reuben our guide as he added such a lot to this fantastic experience. NB all of the photos shown were taken with an iPhone!

      Best adventure, must do.
Best adventure ever, Jenn made sure we all had the best seats in the boat and turned the boat to ensure we all got our best pics ever. The comeradery was amazing, and safety was job 1. The lunches she prepared with homemade cookies, delish. Denman Island coffee is amazing. Her depth of knowledge and compassion was evident in all her actions.

      Highly recommend! Incredible guide,
We did the all day Great Bear Adventure yesterday and it was an awesome experience! We chartered the boat for 9 of us and saw a grizzly bear, many black bears, a giant pod of orcas, dolphins, eagles, porpoises, seals and much more! These memories will last a lifetime. Incredible guide. Highly recommend. In gratitude.

An amazing experience in the Great Bear Rainforest!
We had an amazing day on the water with WWA! As soon as we got out we saw a pod of Pacific white-sided dolphins and were lucky enough to experience the magical scenery of the Great Bear Rainforest, witnessing some wild behavior from black bears to grizzlies, harbour seals, bald eagles, kingfishers and even two humpback whales to end the day. Reuben shared a wealth of knowledge about the area and its wildlife, made the day a fantastic experience and also demonstrated a deep care for the natural world and its inhabitants that made the trip even more enriching.

      A fantastic tour and captain!
I've taken Biggs Orca and Salish Sea Herring tour twice and it's been fantastic both times. Captain Jen is super knowledgeable and demonstrates a deep respect and admiration for the ocean and wildlife. I will definitely continue to return each year!

      Biggs Orcas
I thoroughly enjoyed the 4 hour Biggs Orca/Herring spawn trip. Ruben was an excellent guide and although I think I know alot about wildlife he taught me a few very interesting facts about orcas and bald eagles. He is a wonderful guide and I had a banner day! Thank you Ruben!

      A wonderful springtime Comox-based tour!
We took the Bigg's Orca tour, which took us from Comox Harbour down around Denman and Hornby islands. We were blessed with an incredibly beautiful day and we witnessed some of the first of the 2024 herring spawn in the area, which made this trip just outstanding. During our four-hour trip, we saw thousands of sea birds, dozens of bald eagles fishing from the air or beach, hundreds (or maybe even thousands) of sea lions, and dozens of harbour seals . We got right up close to the shore to see the herring roe on the rocks and seaweed, and we even saw some actual herring. The icing on the cake was seeing two groups of Bigg's transient orcas travelling together (maybe 8 or 9 in all), and being able to stay near them at a respectful distance for a good long time, watching them as they swam and jumped. Unbelievable. Our guide was Reuben and he was delightful - he is knowledgable and full of enthusiasm for the wonders of the Salish Sea.

      Tour of a lifetime!
We had an amazing day on the water! Lucky us got out when 60 Biggs Killer whales were in the Comox Bay Area. Jen shared a wealth of knowledge about the area and its wildlife. I'm forever grateful for this truly mind-blowing experience!

Wonderful & informative Biggs Orcas / Herring Spawn tour
We had a great time on the Biggs Orca / Herring Spawn Tour. We were a grandma, mom, and daughter group. Jen was an amazing and informative host! She waited for us as we were running late. Saw lots of Stellar’s / California Sea Lions, and many pods of Biggs Orcas. Everyone was so enthralled by the Orcas that the tour went longer than expected. I’ve lived on the Westcoast for 15 years and I’ve never experienced the Herring Spawn, and the cascade of events that it brought. We were grateful to experience this natural phenomenon and would not hesitate to do this again in a heartbeat! Many thanks to Jen for running an ethical business that respects wildlife.

      Great day on the water
Our tour was amazing. We saw so many animals including dolphins, orca, whales and sea lions. Reuben was very friendly and went out of his way to make sure everyone got their moneys worth. You could tell he was enjoying being out on the water and showing everyone around. I would recommed, was good value for money

      Tree of Life adventure
Jen was so thoughtful and engaged from the beginning since I started inquiring about options. She really made me feel like the trip was super special to her too. She was very accommodating with our pick up location, prepared yummy lunches for us and shared so many stories about the land and culture. Going on a trip with Wildwater Ways has allowed me to gain so much appreciation for the wildlife and the ecosystems that support them. Thank you Jen!

Amazing wildlife adventure in Campbell River
This was the highlight of an amazing week on Vancouver Island! It was a great day! Rueben was patient and so informative about the area, the wildlife, and the waterways. We saw dolphins, eagles, seals, sea lions, orcas (two separate types/pods), and a humpback whale who really put on a show for us! It was a breathtaking day on the water with a stop for lunch on Stuart Island where we learned about the unique tide and current activity in the Discovery Islands. I cannot recommend this tour enough.

The highlight of our week on Vancouver Island!
Thrilling adventure! Exhilarating zodiac ride; we felt entirely safe under our captain/guide’s skilled navigation & ability to guide us to whole pods of breaching orcas & tail-slapping humpbacks. He shared his extensive knowledge of all the marine & bird sightings, including an eagle feeding frenzy. Lovely picnic lunch on quaint island outpost. The highlight of our week on Vancouver Island!

Rueben is a fantastic guide! We covered a lot of area in a short time and were able to follow a family of Northern Resident Orcas for a long time. We were able to experience tidal rapids and get close ups of sea lions wrestling. We also had a couple of humpback encounters. I’ve done a full day with WW before (great trip) and didn’t expect to see as much, but I was impressed -even in the drizzle. We’ll be back!

This was absolutely magical!!!! A once in a lifetime experience! We were so comfortable and well taken care of. The mid day break with homemade cookies, granolas bars and local fair trade coffee was spectacular! The guides were amazing! Rueben called it just before the whales beached out of the water. We circumvented quadra island and saw soooo much wildlife! We will definitely be going on a tour again with them!

This was my second time this year going on tour with Wild Waterways Adventures. My first experience in May was exceptional and my most recent experience on June 18th surpassed the first! The owners and staff have decades of combined experience navigating the local coastal waterways and viewing marine and terrestrial wildlife. Both the safety of guests and respect for wildlife remain a foremost priority. During both experiences, owners and staff shared their detailed knowledge about the local area, indigenous culture and wildlife. If you're looking for a fun, informative and remarkable experience and adventure, Wild Waterways Adventures should be your choice!

Rupert was our guide. He was very kind and knowledgeable. We saw lots of wildlife, including dolphins, eagles, sea lions and orcas. It was a wonderful trip. Definitely dress warm with layers. Even with the flotation suits we were quite chilly. Rupert made us hot chocolate and coffee and provided a snack. We got a bathroom break on Stuart Island. Highly recommend.

As locals, we are lucky to have a number of great companies to go adventuring with, but there's something really special about going out with Wild Adventures Waterways.

The boats are comfortable, the scenery is stunning, and don't even get me started on the cookies! The experience itself, impossible to describe, especially after you have shared time with the wildlife.

The operators are knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about helping others experience the magic of our area. Don't even think about it...book a tour today. And really, book the full day, you won't regret having more time out there!
