    Beautiful Day in Cambridge
We had a wonderful day with Alumni Tours. We booked a walking and punting tour for 12pm. When we got there, they informed us that the 12pm had 22 people signed up. So we immediately pivoted and they sent us on a 12.10pm punting trip to be back in time for the 1pm walking tour. They were super accommodating and after a wonderful punting trip (with a relatively empty and picturesque Cam river), we met up with Evelyn for a wonderful walking tour. She definitely knew her history and told great stories at each one of the stops. She also welcomed questions and was very knowledgeable with her responses. Especially nice was to hear it all from a student's perspective.

Great Tour - very interesting information
Giri our guide was amazing! Made the tour entertaining, interesting and engaging. We did the tour as a Team Social and we really enjoyed it. A nice walk around Cambrige Colleges and a Cemetery which I think would be really spooky at night. Giri made the tour - really lovely and pleasant to speak to, turned up on time (absolute bonus) ... I would highly recommend!

On the expensive side, but informative and fun
Great tour yesterday. First, know that these three tour sections, while booked as one transaction, are delivered completely disconnected. That's totally ok and we had a great time but we were a bit surprised. The first part, the Cambridge walking tour was guided by Michael, a third -year Physics doctorial student. Michael did an excellent job, mixing in the remarkable history of the University with his lived experience as a current student. The tour was 90 minutes The second part, King's College, was entirely self guided / unguided. Mostly we saw the famous KC Chapel, which was of course very impressive. There are several side rooms of exhibits off the main sanctuary. Lots to read, very informative. We took 45 ish minutes. We then walked a few minutes down to the river The third and final section of the tour was guided punting along a section of the River Cam. This was done by a company called Scudamore's. The 50-minute ride was a lot of fun. The guide was informative. Many many boats on the river often bumping into each other. All in all a fun, four ish hours.

    Entertaining, humourous, ghostly history
Lindsay was an entertaining guide, presenting some ghostly history with humour and drama. We had good weather. Quite inappropriate! I think I’d recommend this particular tour when storm clouds gather and the light is eerie and dim.

What a fascinating tour of the Cambridge colleges with our tour guide, Juan. We walked at a leisurely pace, around the colleges, including going inside Peterhouse and it's Chapel, absorbing the history and architecture of many colleges, and sights in the town. We heard about the University itself, past and present while enjoying its stunning architecture and landscaping, and also about several famous alumni in the context of where lived and worked (Crick, Watson AND Franklin, Isaac Newton and others) This was a super guided tour for tourists and the general public. It struck me that young people interested in applying to go to Cambridge one day might also be inspired by the very interesting background information interspersed with snippets about current student life provided by our postgraduate guide, Juan.

We usually do a Walking Tour whenever we go somewhere new and this was definitely one of the best we’ve done - either at home or abroad! Our Guide, Becky, had been a student at the University for 4 years, currently undertaking a Master’s Degree. She clearly knew both the City and the University very well and it was interesting to hear about both from a Student’s perspective and to get an insight into College life. She spoke clearly and articulately and we never had to strain to hear what she was saying. She included amusing anecdotes and had a very friendly and pleasant manner. We would thoroughly recommend The Alumni Tour to anyone considering a walking tour in Cambridge.

Hello Sally, Thank you for taking the time to write us a review. It was a pleasure hosting you in Cambridge and we will certainly pass your kind words on to Becky. This is a really nice walking tour covering many of the beautiful historical sites of Cambridge, and it is just the optimal lenght to perfectly fit in a busy one-day trip of the city. The tour was made especially captivating by our amazing tour guide Anastasia, who was very knowledgeable of Cambridge's history. She also added snippets of her personal stories and experience of being a postgraduate student at the university, which made the walk a lot more interesting and personal. It was one of the best walking tours I've ever been at - and I come from a tourism background! I would highly recommend taking this tour, as if your guide is just half as good as Anastasia, you are guaranteed to have an amazing time :)

We were given a tour by a recent graduate who was knowledgeable not only about Cambridge university and the city itself but also gave us insight into the life of a Cambridge scholar. The city centre is steeped in history and a lot of that history is based around the university buildings and previous scholars so getting to know about them was very useful in getting to know Cambridge. We toured the areas around the central colleges and ended our tour at the golden corpus clock. I would highly recommend this tour as a way of becoming more familiar with the history and geography of the city.

Our petite tour guide, Khai Khai from Emmanuel College, brought Cambridge University to life with her anecdotes and tales of old. We started with a benign introduction to John C Taylor's Chronophage, a recent 2008 addition to Cambridge. We were then whisked back to the 14th century and regaled with tales of the phantoms and ghosts which walked the halls of Corpus Christi College. Khai Khai shared the 19th century secret of the successful banishment spell of these ghouls.

We toured Pembroke College, the third oldest college, and were introduced to some famous personality involved with the college. Sir Christopher Wren had completed Pembroke's chapel while Tom Hiddleston, the actor portraying Loki in Marvel's Thor series, was a student.

During the tour, Khai Khai also shared with us Cambridge's thirty-one college system of education and the centuries-old tradition of graduation.

Of course there were many other interesting parts of Cambridge that were introduced to us but you would want to join the tour to find out more. I certainly enjoyed the tour and, after mindfully checking with our group, Khai Khai even went beyond the one and a half hour allotted time.

Visited Cambridge to get a feel for the universities before my daughter chooses where to study next year as visiting them is not possible at the moment. Decided to book a tour and was not disappointed. Our guide, Francesco, was very knowledgeable, friendly, and engaged in a personal level with all the tour group. His talks were entertaining as well as interesting, and though he overran the 90 minutes by ten, it never felt overly long. We learnt some interesting and amusing facts about the history of this university city, and an insight into the life of a student on campus. Definitely worth every penny!

We had a walking tour yesterday with Catherine and it was absolutely brilliant! It was only the two of us and Catherine and she was so informative about the city and its history. Would thoroughly recommend this tour and we found out lots of interesting facts and information about Cambridge that you just wouldn't know from walking around. Such a beautiful city and this tour really reflected that. Thank you, Catherine!

Claire led our large group of 22 and being a previous teacher with ancestry from Yeats' spiritual home was well able to project her voice and be heard without any aids. She clearly is used of speaking to groups and educating and amazingly walked backwards and spoke to make sure we all heard. How many times have we been behind tour leaders who speak to the way ahead and not those behind. The content was so great and suits those especially who want to come to college here or those who want to know the history. The tour was 90 minutes long and was a steady flow of interesting anecdotes and raw history interspersed such that everyone stayed engaged. Claire has lived and studied in the City and worked there for a long time and speaks as a student and a local . I would highly recommend you seek a tour with this guide. I sourced it online and bought tickets and turned up. The sales (man) on the ground probably slightly devalues the brand before you start as he appears too pushy on the sales side and had us worried - but when Claire started it became thankfully a more cerebral pedagogic perambulate through the streets.

Absolutely brilliant way to see some of the highlights of the town and hear some fascinating stories. Our guid - Olivia who is studying Sociology - was fantastic and knew so much about the history of the town, the University and told some wonderful stories. Her down to eart honesty was so refreshing and we both learnt so much. I would highly recommend the tour - it was great value for money and we really appreciated hearing about Cambridge from someone who was a current student.
